Chapter 4 Leaving

Early in the morning, before the host of the manor woke up, I was woken up, dressed, and got into the carriage with my packed luggage. Old Simon stay with me. Thinking of the pitying eyes that the servants looked at me in the morning, it seems that everyone knows that I was driven away by my father because I beat Elizabeth. They probably think I have lost my future. A second son did not please his father, and he would have no penny inheritance in the future. Simon wore a white striped tuxedo. The style was uniformly ordered by the manor.

Both the servants and the butlers were the same. The expensive clothing made of wool was only one piece per person. The male servants must wear wigs uniformly, mostly silver-white wigs, to make them look brighter. Not only the court, the princes and nobles, but also the gentry class also follow this fashion, even if there is only one male servant in the family, they will get him in such a outfit. Because of the difficulty of getting out, Simon also seemed a little excited. He sat in a hurry and taught me: "When you go to school, please study hard and become a qualified gentleman as soon as possible." I regretfully said to Simon: "For me, it is impossible to be a gentleman." "How can you say that?" Simon was dissatisfied with what I said. "Do you know where my father is going to send me to school?" I said. "It's called Pilot College, isn't it?" Simon said. "That school also has a name called Pillot Charity School. Can you believe it? My father wants to send me to a school run by charity donations. It only teaches basic reading and writing, arithmetic and drawing, and after graduates I couldn't even find a job for a small employer."

"This is impossible!" Simon was shocked: "Master is impossible to do such a thing. You are the young master of Constantine's family. How can you go to such a place to study!" "Don't believe me? You'll understand after a while," I said. In my previous life, I have been studying in this school for 6 years. Boarding school is not allowed to go home casually, as long as no one comes to pick me up, I have to stay here until graduation, even if I die, no one knows. I wrote a lot of letters back home, begging my father to take me back, but unfortunately, there has been no news, like sinking into the sea.

The so-called school is different from a school. In some schools, you can only become a clerk or housekeeper, while in some schools you can become a pastor, doctor, or lawyer. The former works for others, although it is not as humble as those who sell physical strength, but the annual salary is more than 10 pounds. The latter enters the gentleman class through gentleman education and will be respected by the lower class. According to the position, the annual salary is dozens of pounds. Ranging from a few hundred pounds, they are completely different classes. After I graduated, there was no way out at all. Quintets Manor belonged to my brother, and my father wouldn't give me a penny. So desperate, I went to the town's textile factory and became a recorder with an annual salary of 4 pounds. I From the son of a gentleman to a well-deserved poor pauper.

Sure enough, the shabby Pilot Charity School shocked Simon. "Oh, is this the child sent by Mr. Constantine?" The school teacher wanted to push me: "Come with me, put down the luggage and change clothes first." "Stop it!" Simon angrily blocked the teacher's attempt to push me: "It's rude! What are you doing!" "Don't be like this Simon, this is how it is here." I said. Simon did not hand me over to the teacher. He took me around the school, his face getting ugly. Not to mention the tattered school, the male students inside were shivering with cold, their uniforms were so thin that they couldn't withstand the cold at all, and they looked yand thin, and they were hungry a lot. The most exaggerated thing is that teachers actually carry whips with them, and they will directly flog disobedient students. "This is terrible. How could the master make such a decision? You are his son. This is simply not where the young masters should be." Simon said angrily, "If the old Mr. Constantine were there, he would never Allow this to happen." "Simon, you have seen it all. This is the school my father chose for me." I said. Simon was very sad. The old man did not expect that his conscientious service family would degenerate into this way, but he was just a housekeeper, and he could not stop the master's decision. Simon looked at me sadly and said, "My poor little Adam, what should I do with you? I must never leave you in this place. You are the young master of Constantine's family. How respected your grandfather is. Gentleman, if he knew that I put his children and grandchildren in such a place, he would definitely blame me." The old man thought for a while and said: "I will take you back to intercede with the master. Master, you have to put aside and apologize to the master and the wife, and ask the master to find you a suitable school anyway." "Can't you see Simon? My father chose such a school for me on purpose. He has abandoned me." I said to Simon with a serious expression.

The old man looked at me for a while and sighed deeply: "You really shouldn't have beaten Miss Elizabeth, what can you do now? Shall I go to Master William? He probably won't care about you either." I shrugged, took out a small bag and showed it to Simon. Simon took a look and exclaimed: "Oh my God, this is! Where did you get it from?" "These are my mother's jewelry. Rather than being taken by Mrs. Jenny, wouldn't it be more appropriate to use it for me to go to school?" I carefully hid these things for today. They are all diamond jewelry, the most valuable and valuable, and they are the mother's personal belongings. The father doesn't know what it is, otherwise the loss of so many precious jewelry will definitely cause serious consequences. Simon straightened his face, looked at me solemnly and said, "Is it really going to be sold? This is the relic of the lady." I said helplessly: "If I don't sell it, can you let me stay in a place like this for school? I'm afraid no one knows even I am about being abused to death."

This is not a joke. If I hadn't been rough and thick-skinned in my previous life, I would really not survive in this charity school. The life of the students here is very difficult. They don't have enough to eat. Every meal of brown bread looks like a prisoner's food. Teachers are harsh and violent, and punish students physically. The most frightening thing is that the students here are also very savage. And in places where there are all men, there are still many nasty things happening. Some beautiful boys are being oppressed here. I suffered a lot because of this kind of thing, and the process is simply unbearable. Thanks to the blessing of my suave father, I have a beautiful face that everyone loves. When I first came to this school, it was like honey that caused flies. There were even wretched male teachers who acted on me. Once they irritated me, I became mad, and I got into a ball with them. During the fight, I was scratched by the pavement stone, leaving a big scar. Since then, I have broken the picture. Although no one has come to trouble me anymore, my life has been ruined for the most part, and I have been discriminated against even looking for a decent job. Simon agreed, and he pushed me back into the carriage, ready to take me out of here. A male teacher came out and asked, "Why did you take him away again? How did we explain to Mr. Constantine, he has already paid the tuition for one year." The school's tuition fee for a year is only £4, including food, lodging and daily necessities. It costs nearly £50 a year to hire servants at Quintet Manor, but my father sent me to this kind of place to study. It can be seen that he and Jenny The wife beat Elizabeth's grievance to me, which is already malicious revenge. Simon said to the male teacher: "You can keep his tuition. We decided to change to another school. There is no need to notify Mr. Constantine about this matter. I am the butler of his house."

On the same day, Simon sent a message to Quintet Manor. He said he would take time off to visit a sick relative. Actually, we drove a carriage and drove a day's journey to London. He took me to sell my mother's jewelry. The jeweler saw that Simon was decently dressed and neat, and thought he was a gentleman who couldn't make money temporarily. Although he lowered the price, he sold it for 350 pounds. Simon sent me to an upper-class aristocratic school. I have to pay a tuition of £150 a year and receive a full range of gentleman education, including basic reading, writing, arithmetic and shorthand, theology, geography, history, law, ethics and other practical knowledge, Greece Cultural skills such as writing, Latin, music, and painting, as well as entertainment projects such as dancing, horse riding, fencing, and gardening. Simon settled me in, ready to leave. He said to me sadly: "Master Adam, I am leaving, you must take care of yourself." "Thank you Simon, I will never forget everything you did for me." I said seriously. The sky was very red that evening, and the sunset glow lined up like fish scales. I stood in the cold wind and watched Simon's carriage and horses go away, and then turned and walked into this place where I will live for a long time. ......

Black school robe, tuxedo, white shirt, round neck button, trousers and leather shoes. Although we are only a group of children, we have long been dressed like a gentleman. This outfit alone costs £7, plus dozens of matching shirts, bow ties, etc. Going to an aristocratic school is like throwing your money to a river. I never received an orthodox gentleman education in my previous life. I only learned etiquette with a tutor for a year or two when I was a child. After I really entered this noble school, I knew why those gentlemen with high eyes were so reserved. Rock College was founded at the beginning of the last century. It is a purely aristocratic school for children. You can see preparatory classes for King's colleges such as Cambridge and Oxford. All students who can enter this school are from wealthy families. There are even heirs of princes and nobles. I stood in line with more than 50 teenage boys, all wearing black academic robes, raising their chins high at a young age, just like a gentleman who has already become famous. "On behalf of Rock College, I welcome all new students." The principal delivered a congratulatory speech. The old man's speech was quite satisfactory. It was undoubtedly talking about the glorious history of the school, what are the famous alumni, and the school's education system, etc. From this dull school opening ceremony alone, we can find that this school must be famous for its solemnity and rules, and this public school church has a clear tendency and must have an old-fashioned style of study. Take a look at the people who attended the opening ceremony. The dean, the house superintendent, the heads of various disciplines, and the students of all grades, wearing different styles of academic gowns, are as neat as court uniforms. After the opening ceremony, we can go back to our residence to rest. It is very rare for people like me to come to school alone. Most of them are followed by servants. They take care of the little master of their family. Although it is an aristocratic school, it also requires students to cultivate an independent spirit and take servants to study, but try not to take care of them nearby. After all, it is more important to find like-minded partners when studying than to enjoy being lazy. Especially in this kind of aristocratic school, everyone is from the gentleman class, and the classmates in the school created the initial bond of relationship. As a result, when many gentleman-class adults first met, they first talked about the school they graduated from. If they were classmates, the relationship would immediately become very close. I live in a three-story old school building. Although the school building is old, it is beautifully decorated. From the living room to the corridor are inlaid with glass windows, the large living room downstairs has a ceiling chandelier with crystal hanging, and the sofa and seat cover are covered with brand new silk seat covers. My room is on the second floor near the stairs. It is about 20 square meters. It has a soft double bed, a writing desk with gold-edged armrests, an elegant sofa seat, and a large black wood-carved wardrobe. The windows are large enough to illuminate the entire room, with orange cotton mopping curtains and thick woolen carpets. I went to bed tiredly, and I was about to take a nap, when I suddenly heard the sound of a dispute coming from outside the door.
