Chapter 3 3-Welcome.

Eden POV.

I hate when things go all black, it always leaves me feeling sick, and I hate being sick more than anything else. I don't remember where I fell but I knew for sure that it wasn't this comfortable, I'm never this comfortable anywhere nor this warm. I was always cold, even in the middle of the summer, I'd be freezing cold, the winter and me, I heard others saying they doubt I'll survive this year winter.

I tried to open my eyes, I was exhausted like I just had the worse beating in my life although I didn't, I'm really good at hiding away these days, you wouldn't even know I live in the same house of the others. I only go out of my room late at night for some food, but I couldn't eat much, it's not that they'll notice if I ate or not. It's just I wasn't hungry most days, I didn't have an appetite for real food, not really, I just ate some sweets to keep me going.

With some struggle my eyes were finally open, I looked around, I wasn't home for sure, I'm in some kind of a clinic, no one would take me to the clinic at home. Maybe school? That right, I remember going to school this morning, although my pack hates me, they keep me on a tight leash around the school, they don't allow me to go anywhere without them, too afraid I'll find some other pack to adopt me.

I have to walk to school but stay close or else, now that I'm in the clinic I'm in for one hell of a beating, I felt my eyes tear up, I wanted to cry, I didn't mean for this to happen, I'm dead meat. A woman that I don't recognize came into my vision, she had a kind smile on, she saw my tear-filled eyes and frowned at that.

"You're okay little one" she says wiping my tears away, I started sniffling, I'm so emotionally deprived, even the smallest touch hurt.

"Alpha she's awake" she calls to someone but that alpha is my dad, I'm dead, real fat tears start to go down my face this time, it's that time of the day. A guy I don't know, he's not my father, he has brown hair, brown eyes that are filled with kindness that my father could never master. He smiles at me, his hand goes to wipe my tears again, my face went with his hand, I wanted the touch, no needed the touch.

"It's okay little one" he says caressing my face while my eyes closed happily enjoying some touch.

"Can you tell me your name little one?" he asks, I shake my head no to that, eyes still closed. He took his hand away making my eyes shoot open, my lower lip to start trembling.

"I can hold you all you want but first honey I need your name" he says again, with the promise of being held, I decided to tell him.

"E...Ede...Eden" I stutter, I always stutter in front of strangers, it's a sign of fear, or that what my packmate said.

"Eden do you belong to a pack?" he asks, it's the chance I always hoped for, if I tell him I do, he'll have to take me back to them. Hell to the no, I shake my head no, I belong to no one.

"Are you sure Eden? Cause if you don't we'll be happy to have you in but if some other pack will come claiming you, we'll be in trouble" he asks, he's right, unless dad gives me up, he can't take me in.

"The...The...Bane" I say with a big pout, they gonna have me back, I just lost my only chance out of here.

"The Bane" he says before getting closer to me, he lifts me off the bed and into his lap, cuddling me, his hand went to my back in a soothing rubbing motion.

"Such a good girl, now I want you to be honest with me Eden. Are the Bane treating you well" he says, I loved the praise, the answer to his question is very easy, I shook my head no.

"Alpha she's underweight, bruises were found all her body, her blood test isn't that good either," the woman says.

"Get me a meeting with the Bane, she's staying with us" the guy says, I was so happy about that, but it's now up between him and father, I hope they'll agree to give me up.
