Bongz's school bag was still on his back. He looked like a dead person. Fezile and Babz screamed for help, they touched Bongz, felt his purse, and tried to call him to wake up.
Fezile asked Babz to call the ambulance while she did all she could to resuscitate her son, Babz called the ambulance and also called the police too. She also called the Principal and some of the teachers whom she had their phone numbers on her phone.
The ambulance and the police almost arrived at the same time, the Principal and teachers also arrived immediately. The ambulance took Bongz to the hospital, escorted by his mother, Fezile.
Babz stayed behind telling the police the whole story about Bongz. The security guard was also questioned by the police so does the principal and the teachers. The rooftop and the place where Bongz was found were marked as a crime scene!
Babz drove her mother's car to the hospital; she was followed by the police. Her mother was seated outside the operation room at the hospital. She was crying and praying at the same time. She told Babz that the doctors are operating on Bongz.
According to what Fezile and Babz saw before calling the police; they believe that Bongz was pushed down from the rooftop but the police were insisting that Bongz was trying to commit suicide. Fezile and Babz refused to accept that Bongz was trying to commit suicide; there was no reason for him to do it. Why would he keep his backpack on his back if he was trying to kill himself?
Fezile was so broken, she could hardly talk. Babz called her father, Themba, who was on his business trip; she explained to him what has happened to Bongz. She also called Gugu and told her that Bongz is in the hospital but she didn't disclose why he was in the hospital.
The operation took hours, and hours, Fezile and Babz waited and waited. At about past midnight, the doctors came out. They said that it is a miracle that Bongz is still alive. The doctors predicted that he will spend a long time in the coma. The doctors also confirmed that Bongz spent at least four hours in that pull of blood; they said that if he did get help earlier; he wouldn't have fallen into a coma.
Bongz was taken to the ICU where Fezile and Babz checked on him. They looked at him and cried; they couldn't believe that Bongz can end up being a vegetable! They cried and prayed to God to heal Bongz.
The police talked to the doctors who confirmed that Bongz might have been pushed down after being beaten; they said that Bongz had a lot of bruises all over his body and neck.
The doctors suspected that Bongz was punched furiously and also someone tried to strangle him too. After hearing that information, the police asked Babz where Phindie, whom Bongz told his sister that he is going to walk with her home, stays.
That evening, the police knocked at Phindie's house. Her father opened the door. The police explained their reasons for being there but Phindie's father asked them to live.
Phindie's father told the police that his daughter cannot speak to the police without a lawyer present. Since the police didn't have any warrant to question her, they asked her father to drop her at the police station in the morning for questioning.
It appeared that Phindie's family already knew something; that's the reason why they insisted on having a lawyer present. Phindie called Mandla that evening and informed him about the police's visit to her home.
Early in the morning, Phindie, her father, mother, and her lawyer went to the police station.
During the questioning, Phindie was told that Bongz told his sister that he will be spending that Friday afternoon with Phindie; that he also said that he will walk home with her.
Phindie denied it, she said that she and Bongz are not dating anymore, and there was no reason for him to meet with her. Phindie said she and Bongz broke up months back. She continued to say that she hasn't spoken to Bongz for a while now; that she only sees him at school.
The police asked Phindie if she has an alibi for that Friday afternoon. She immediately said that after school on Friday, her mother picked her up from school. Phindie's mother was around and she confirmed it.
The police told Phindie and her family to go back home but they promised to visit them again if they need more information from Phindie.
Phindie's family was one of the closest family friends of the Khumalos. Babz was shocked to not see them visiting Bongz in the hospital or calling them to find out how Bongz was doing. So many friends were checking up on Bongzi's family and also visiting Bongz in the hospital; but shockingly, not Bongz's so-called close friends. The only Bongz's friend who visited him so far was Mandla and his mother, Amanda.
Themba came back on Sunday from his business trip; he had to cut it short because of Bongz's accident, which some people call suicide while others call it a deliberate push from the rooftop.
Themba came straight to the hospital from the airport. Babz, Fezile, Amanda, and Mandla were seated in the hospital lounge talking about Bongz's situation when they saw Themba coming in.
Babz ran towards her father, she hugged him while crying. Fezile also joined the hug and they created a big hug of three; mum, dad, and daughter. The three had a group hug while tears were rolling down their cheeks, they were sad about Bongz's condition.
Fezile was crying hysterically while explaining to Themba what had happened to their son, Bongz. Afterward, Themba greeted Amanda and her son Mandla and then proceeded to Bongz's ward; he went with Fezile since they could only allow two people in Bongz's room at a go.
