Chapter 4 ELIZA

It was two hours after the fiasco at the entrance of the university. As I guessed, receiving Angelica's blow made my intestinal organs twisted and I suffered from severe internal bleeding. Thankfully, the healing pills from the university's clinic worked miraculously. So even when I still feeling pain, most of my injuries were already healed and I could go on with my day.

'It might the old professor's instruction... but I never thought that the healer will really give me a healing pill.'

'And to think that she even gave it to me hurriedly and watched over me for a bit... She also looks like she was scared of something...'

'What a strange scenario...' I furrowed my brows.

Healers are very much respected in the entire werekind. Because of this, they don't usually want to do anything with a disgrace like me and my mother. I have never seen a healer who did not say anything nasty towards me or even glared at me with disgust.

Most of all, I never seen a healer look scared and acting timidly.

'Maybe... the healer was in a hurry because of the Alpha's visit?' I curiously thought as I looked at the door in front of me.

'This should be it,' I thought as I confirmed the number written on top of the door of the room.

'Room 145 of the Faculty of History.'

'I should go in before the professor arrives,' I sighed.

'Unfortunately, I missed my first class. Will I get in trouble because of it?' I thought, slightly pouting at the idea of being punished.

'No, what I should worry about right now... is whether... my classmates will let me off...'

'The professors will never hurt a student. Not inside the university, at least... But my classmates are different...'

'If they have high status, they have no problem hitting me...'

'I'm used to pain and suffering...

...But it does not mean that I don't hate it.'

'If it's possible... I wish that I will never feel them again,' I thought as I held the door with my trembling hands.

'This time... I wish that I will be okay....'

'Is it... alright for me to wish like that... Moon Goddess?' Inside my heart, I called to the goddess who was looking after the werewolves.

I was a hybrid who completely took after my human mother.

My strength and my body were that of a human, and I had zero indicative of being a werewolf.

The pack where I was raised in treated me unkindly, and my father, who was the only link to the werekind, was missing.

Normally, I should not have any good emotions towards the werewolves. After everything that I have gone through, it would not be surprising if I ended up hating the whole werekind and the Moon Goddess.

'But strangely... even after everything... I still believe in you.'

"I think... the pain that I experienced is enough for today... So I wish... that in the remaining time today... will be peaceful.'

"Please, moon goddess," I softly muttered. My eyes started to feel warm as I wished with all my heart.

"What are you doing? Enter the room if you plan to attend my class," suddenly I heard a woman say.

Startled, I wiped my tears off my face before hurriedly apologizing. "I'm sorry professor. I will enter now," I said before entering the classroom with haste.

"Sit down, everyone," the professor announced the moment she entered the room. Luckily, there was an empty seat at the backmost side of the room. I immediately walked towards it before sitting down.

Of course, I received disgusted stares from my new classmates. Thankfully, the professor was there so they did not start anything.

"This is the first day of our class. Originally, I planned on conducting an introductory lecture for my subject. But as you all know, an important guest has arrived earlier in our university. All our plans have to be changed," the professor started to say.

"So, I'm here to announce to you a few things."

"Lord Keifer, the King's aide, is here to visit. The Alpha has ordered that all of us in the university are to welcome him," she added, and everyone started to profusely whisper.

"Oh, he's really here!"

"Yes, the Alpha and the other higher-ups already welcomed him earlier."

"But why would he be here? Is it a surprise visit?"

"No... the most important question is... Did our young alpha, Lord Neo, come with him?"

"Oh my goddess, yes! If he came... then it would be his first time to return in five years?"

"Now everyone, keep quiet first and listen to the instruction," the professor interrupted the excited whispers.

"Alright, all of us are to gather at the university's assembly hall in thirty minutes," the professor added. However, before she could even finish her sentence, most of the class already ran out and went to the assembly hall.

"Assembly hall? Go go! I need to sit in front!"

"Oh my god! Maybe I can get a glance at the young lord!" I heard them say as they rushed towards the hall.

To say that they were excited was an understatement.

On the other hand, I was left sitting in my seat, thinking hard whether coming, or not coming to the assembly hall, will give me trouble.

'The alpha order for everyone to gather. Technically, that meant to include me,' I thought as I walked towards the assembly hall.

'... But the alpha also disliked seeing me and my mother. He especially hates it if he sees me and my mother attending pack gatherings. Maybe... that means I should not go?' I thought as I hastily stopped walking.

'No... If I did not attend when he meant for me to attend... that would mean I disobeyed the order of the alpha.'

'In that case, I will be severely punished, and I might even implicate mom,' I thought while biting my lips.

'If I attended when I was really not allowed to... at most... I will be publicly beaten and humiliated again.'

I sighed. And for several seconds, I stared blankly at the clear sky.

"White and blue... and so peaceful," I softly mumbled. "For some reason, it reminds me of mom," I added with a smile.

"Well, I can't risk implicating my mom. So, let's attend this gathering," I huffed before bravely walking to the assembly hall.
