Chapter 4

Dorothy was headed home to Kansas to spend some time with her aunt and her uncle. When Dorothy was close to her house she saw her house was on fire. The fire department was already there. Dorothy ran out of the taxi to see if her aunt and uncle were all right. Dorothy saw her Uncle Henry and he was badly injured. "Where is Aunt Em?" Dorothy asks. "I am sorry, but your aunt did not make it," the fireman told Dorothy. Dorothy was crying and screaming. Dorothy was too upset to ask what happen. The police stay with Dorothy until she calms down. "Miss Gale, do you have any family or friends that can come stay with you?" The police officer asks. "My friends Sebastian, Alice, and Sara Crewe," Dorothy replied. Dorothy gave the police officer their phone numbers. "I will call your friends. I will take you to the hospital," the police officer replied. The police took Dorothy to the hospital. Dorothy was worry about her uncle. The doctor told her that her uncle was in bad shape. Dorothy did not want to bother her friends, but she did not know anyone else who could come. Daniel came walking into the waiting room. "Dorothy, I am sorry, but your uncle did not make it," Daniel replied. Sebastian Sebastian was working in the museum. Diana has been away on business. His phone start ringing. "Hello," Sebastian answers. "Hello Sebastian, this is Daniel Ross," Daniel replied. "Hello, Daniel, what is going on?" Sebastian asks. "Dorothy's aunt and uncle were killed in a fire," Daniel explained. Sebastian was frozen and he could not move. Diana came walking in the office. "Sebastian are you still there?" Daniel asks. "Yes, I am still here. What happen?" Sebastian asks. "I do not know, but the police are investigating what cause the fire," Daniel replied. "Dorothy wants you, Mary, Sara, and Alice to come to be with her," Daniel replied. Sebastian finishes talking to Daniel. "What is going on?" Diana asks. "My friend Dorothy's aunt and uncle were killed in a fire," Sebastian replied. "What cause the fire?" Diana asks. "The police do not know, but they are investigating," Sebastian replied. "Was your friend harm?" Diana asks. "No, she came home during the fire. I have to go back to Kansas to see Dorothy," Sebastian replied. "I will go with you. If you do not mind?" Diana asks. "No, I do not mind," Sebastian replied. Sebastian called Mary, Sara, and Alice and he told them about Dorothy's aunt and uncle. Princess Ozma Princess Ozma heard about Dorothy's aunt and uncle. Princess Ozma wanted to go see Dorothy, but Thor advice against it. Thor told Princess Ozma it was not safe for her to go outside the castle. Princess Ozma knew that Dorothy was her sister. Princess Ozma wanted to know more information about the fire that killed Dorothy's aunt and uncle. Princess Ozma sent the White Rabbit to Kansas to find out what was going on. The White Rabbit was scared, but he has to go to Kansas. Alice Alice and Kevin arrive at Kansas the next day. Alice was worry about Dorothy. Dorothy was still at the hospital. Martha Kent took Dorothy home with her. Sebastian, Diana, Sara, Alice, Mary, Daniel, Lavinia, Sarah, Alex, and Nicholas were at Martha's house. Alice was outside when she saw the White Rabbit Nivens McTwisp. "What are you doing here Nivens?" Alice asks. "I heard about Dorothy's aunt and uncle. Princess Ozma wanted me to check on Dorothy to see how she was doing," Nivens replied. "Dorothy is still in shock and she is resting," Alice replied. "Was someone trying to harm Dorothy," Nivens asks. "I do not know," Alice replied sadly.
