Chapter 5 Study further

Emily felt relieved.

"Mrs. Elizabeth will recover soon. Under our observation we have not discovered any effects that might harm Mrs. Elizabeth. You can take Mrs. Elizabeth home tomorrow." The doctor said Emily.

" Thank you doctor."

The doctor left the place, Emily standing there repeating the doctor's word: ' You can take Mrs. Elizabeth home tomorrow.'

'Home , which home? There was no home now, it was only she and her mother.' Emily thought, she was heartbroken even when thinking about it.

After 2 days Emily and Elizabeth were at Josie's

home , Emily had not have a proper sleep since the incident.

"Emily you must be really tired, you didn't allow us to stay with your mom at the hospital, now that you are home you should have some rest, we are here to look after your mom." Josie was worried about Emily. ' Emily might fall sick if it goes on like this.' She thought.

"Thank you so much Josie, I always think what would I have done if I didn't have you.

"Ah, don't be so formal Emily, we are friends, remember?" Josie winked.

Emily slept the whole afternoon. She never knew when she fell asleep.

The sky was dark when Emily woke up, it was already time for dinner.

"Hey Emily, you are awake," Josie had come to wake Emily for dinner.

All sat at the dinning table eating, " Emily the university is all set to start, what's your plans? Have you thought of the subjects?"

Emily was very exited before about her further studies... but now she even forgot about it, she was in no mood to continue her studies, she was rather looking forward to find out about her father's murderers and what had they done to her brother?

"Emily , I think you should study further, this is your age to become something, you should be strong to look after you mother". Micheal advised Emily.

Emily hesitated, there was some worry on Emily's face. Micheal noticed it and continued , " If you are worried about your university fees, I already told you, you are like my daughter, if I don't do even this for Roger, what kind of a friend am I?"

Emily's heart was filled with warmth, tears started forming in her eyes, she was wondering how was she going to pay back for everything they had done to her.

The next day, Emily and Josie went to the university to fill in the forms, after all the formalities were done, Emily and Josie thought to walk around the university.

Josie looked super excited, she was going on blabbering about the life she will have after joining university. Emily was just listening to Josie's comments, and smiling time to time.

Emily suddenly turned to look behind, she felt someone was starting at her, but then she thought she must be imagining things, she was no one.

They had walked and walked , too tired to continue walking, "Emily , all my excitement is gone, I'm too tired. Look there is a canteen let's go and have something to eat."

Emily nodded in agreement, she was also tired and feeling a bit hungry.

They choose a corner seat and sat. It was table for four, so Emily and Josie sat face to face.

"I'll go get some food, Josie went to take food , Emily sitting alone looking outside the window, there was a huge tree, Emily was staring at the nest... lost in her own thoughts.... When suddenly someone interrupted her thoughts.

" Hi, may I sit here?"

Emily turned to look who it was, it was the boy she had seen in the hospital. Emily stared at him from head to toe.

Joseph Clicked his finger in front of her face, "hey, I am Joseph Lu, and this is my friend John. Are you new here? I have never seen you before."

"Ah yes, sorry I was thinking something else." Do you need anything?" Emily asked.

"May I sit here?" Joseph expected hopefully Emily will allow him to sit.

Joseph had seen Emily in the hospital. He had been searching for her everywhere, he had even come back to the hospital the same day in search of her. But unfortunately he couldn't find her anywhere

That day when he had seen Emily , he was in hurry as his friend was hospitalized. Joseph had thought he had missed her, and will never be able to see her again. But for his great fortune , she was in front of her.

Joseph had never believed in love in first sight, but last two days his thoughts were nowhere else, he had been thinking of her beautiful face.

Meanwhile Josie came holding food in her hand. "Excuse me, Emily do you know them?"

Josie was very fond of handsome boys, Joseph was just the kind of boy, Josie couldn't help but stare at Joseph.

Emily shook her head, implementing she didn't know them.

"Hi I am Joseph Lu, This is my second year in university, you look new here , if you need anything you can ask me. Ill surely help you." Joseph kept his smile, he couldn't take his eyes off Emily. He felt Emily was innocent and pure. The more he looked at her, the more he wanted to make her .... his.

" Hello Joseph, I am Josie Micheal and this is my friend Emily Roger."

Emily also nodded at Joseph. " please excuse us we need to get home it's getting late."

"Alright, take my contact number , if you need anything you can ask me without hesitation."

Emily tried to refuse him: " I don't think....

Before she finished her words Josie had already asked for the number.

Emily and Josie went their ways.Joseph and John were still standing there... as soon as Josie and Emily were out of their sight, " I am very happy John" . Joseph almost shouted.

" I can't wait to see her again."
