Chapter 5 What a name for a duffer like him

The following morning.

I fixed my hair behind my ear, while watching my sombre self in the dressing mirror. I released a rueful sigh before walking to my bed and carried my backpack. "Be a good girl, Chelsea" I ruffled its fur as I led her to its cage. I dropped her breakfast after I locked the cage and she barked softly, waggling her little tail. "You really like food, don't you?" I smiled adoringly as I watched her devour her meal.

Some moments passed, I stood up and threw my backpack to my back.

"Alright baby, I'm off to school" I told her but her whole attention was on the food, she wasn't sparing me a glance.

Foodie.

I shook my head sideways and walked out of my room.

As soon as I climbed down the last staircase ,I saw mom approaching me with a little remorse crept up on her face.

"Good morning dearest. How was your night?" She asked in her always sweet voice.

I just gave a short nod in response and made to walk past her but she was too quick to held my wrist. "You really want to stay mad at your mom?" She said dolefully. I gulped slowly, resisting the urge to turn to her.

"I've been saying sorry since last night, Audrey" She added and I could feel water in my eyes already.

I hate things being like this but I was really hurt by her words from yesterday.

"Come have breakfast, I prepared your favourite" She urged me. I gently removed my wrist from her warm hand. I wiped the tears that were already rolling down my cheeks with my palm. "Bye" I uttered, and hurried out at once.

"Mi Cha" She called softly behind me.

I stepped out of the house and shut the entrance door.

I sauntered into the classroom and all the gazes fell on me at once while some girls were already murmuring amongst themselves.

I hissed loudly to their hearing, while I found my way to my seat, bunch of fools. I sat down and dropped my backpack on the desk, releasing a rueful breath. I glanced up and their eyes were still on me.

Okay,

Have I become a kinda celebrity now?

"Lazy a*ses" I mumbled.

My eyes landed on Duffer and I almost cussed aloud. Damn you eyes!

He was busy scribbling whatever on a note, he was not even glancing up, he looked engrossed. I rolled my eyes. What has become my business with him now?

"Get up from my seat!" I flinched on hearing that, and even Duffer turned to my direction, I quickly took my eyes to the dog that just barked.

Oh oh,

It was another crazy blondie and standing behind her, were red headed and her blondie friend. "Are you deaf?" Her eyes glowered as she shouts.

I just folded my arms on my chest, watching her like I was not the one she was talking to.

"Mr Yang, the English language teacher was the one that told her to sit there" I looked to my right hand side direction to saw the girl that just talked on my behalf.

"Will you shut it, you little brat!"Crazy blondie barked and I watched as the girl became frightened.

I scoffed, irritatedly.

She's scared of her classmate?

"And you.." She turned to me again in a relaxed way. "I already heard a lot about you and believe me, you still can't stand me. So stand up right now while I'm being nice" She grinded her teeth and I crossed my legs.

She fumes.

"Min Jun" I turned to where she was now looking and Duffer was looking at her too.

Oh,

Min Jun.

That's his name?

Uhmm,

What a name for a Duffer like him.

"Could you please tell her I'm the right owner of this seat?" Her voice breaks like she's gonna cry soon.

Duffer just turned to what he was doing like he was not the one she was talking to and I couldn't hold the laugh that escaped my mouth.

I mean what the f**k?!

He just snubbed her.

Crazy blondie watches me as I laughed hysterically, with rage built up on her face.

"Why are you guys standing?" Blondie and her friends turned back and I also stretched my neck a little since they were obstructing my view, I saw a young woman standing in front of the class, obviously, she's a teacher.

Crazy blondie pointed at me and says, "She's sitting on my seat"

"Then find another seat, Jin" The teacher said and it took all the strength in me to stop myself from laughing out again.

"But..."

"Do you want me to send you out of my class?" The young teacher went ballistic.

Crazy blondie shut me a dangerous look and stormed off, with her chickens following behind.

I twisted my lips.

Okay, The teacher wasn't being nice.

She should have just told me to stand up instead. I laughed inwardly- so funny.

"So, good morning class" The teacher greeted with little enthusiasm now.

"Good morning ma'am" The class said, simultaneously.

It was lunch period, I was so famished but I didn't know how their meal would taste. 'Should I just try their food once?' I mentally spoke to myself as I watched students walking out of the class.

I didn't want to go but I was really hungry, I didn't have lunch and dinner yesterday all because I was mad at mom. I only had cookies with juice at the noon.

My stomach rumbled out and I quickly darted my eyes around the class to be sure no one heard it.

My eyes stopped at the frightened girl that talked earlier. She shot me a sweet smile and which I reciprocated in the best way I could.

I hope she didn't hear it though.

I rose to my feet, lifting my backpack to my shoulder.

I was really hungry.

I better go try out their meal.
