there is an emergency at the clinic, the assistant informed her.

I will be there in 30 minutes Victoria replied as she hunged up.

Victoria quickly writes a short note and placed it on the small table as she quickly hurried to the home of mercy clinic.

this clinic was set up by Victoria as a means to lure Avril to herself. she was a military doctor before the death of Raymond, she still remembers that day as if it were yesterday.

Victoria was just finishing her duty when she received that dreadful phone call about the death of her twin brother Raymond.

Raymond was shot 28 times by an unknown assailant who was later discovered to be a con artist who Raymond was in love with.

Lawrence Daniels and Raymond were in a secret relationship and all this was discovered when Lawrence Daniels cashed out the 5 million dollars death insurance policy payment he took out on Raymond should he die accidentally.

6months after the insurance policy registration was finalized, Raymond was shot dead and his partner Lawrence Daniels an African American, received the payment and disappeared without a trace.

the case was declared a cold case after 3 solid years of getting false leads. until 4 years ago, when Victoria got a lead about the man that suits the description of the missing Lawrence Daniels!

further investigation showed that Lawrence Daniels died years ago and his identity was falsified.

Avril Williams Obinma, the man that fits the description of Lawrence Daniels was tracked down at his hometown. Rivers State Nigeria where he built a formidable force and became untouchable.

D.N.A specimen recovered from the home Lawrence Daniels shared with Raymond Ortis was matched with Avril Williams Obinma's DNA and the result proved that Avril Williams Obinma and Lawrence Daniels are the same person!

Avril used the late Lawrence Daniels identity to commit all sorts of atrocity. and escaped to his country Nigeria to evade arrest.

he got rid of everything except for the glass of water he left at the scene of the crime. he was in a hurry to leave the crime scene, as he drank water from the glass cup and escaped through the back door, according to CCTV footage!

hence the decision for Victoria Ortis, Raymond Ortis twin to come to Nigeria in disguise and fish out the devil so that justice will be served.

Victoria was still lost in thoughts when the driver pulled out in front of the hospital.

Gabriel Ike the family driver who is also a good friend of Victoria parked the car at the parking lot and gently opened the door for her.

The patient name is Chidinma Okoro, 17 years old girl, single, first time pregnant, never been to the clinic for antenatal, never took any routine drugs during her pregnancy, has been in labor for the past three hours, shortage of blood, have a constant seizure, she fainted and was rushed to the hospital, she's now unconscious, has been taking native medicine in place of routine drugs, blood type 0- negative, excess alcohol level, malnourished and high blood pressure. and the fetus is becoming weak.

it's going to be a tough day ahead, Victoria thought to herself. as she reviews the patient medical report.

we are going to place the patient under observation. if by the next one hour she doesn't respond to treatment, the baby will be delivered through a caesarian section to save both mother and child.

hello Chidinma can you hear me, Dr. Victoria called again but when she got no response, she took a deep breath and paused briefly.

it's time she said. prepare the patient for the caesarian section.

she is still unconscious, and cannot deliver her baby naturally as she opted for, every minute counts and the fetus is becoming weaker, to save both mother and child, we have to carry out the surgery immediately Dr. Victoria patiently explained to Chidinma's parents.

we don't have money for Surgery Chidinma's mother Grace explained.

all our services here are now free, starting from the moment we merged with Avril William Obinma's foundation, so Mrs. Okoro, all the bills will be taken care of by the foundation. all you need to do is to sign the consent form and the operation will begin immediately.

now is not a good time, kindly book an appointment the doctor responded.

can you please spare me five minutes the strange woman pressed on?

I don't have time, Dr. Victoria says as she walks faster.

Miss Ortis, sorry Dr. Victoria Ortis does that name ring a bell.

Dr. Victoria stops abruptly. who are you, she asked the strange woman?

thank God we are now speaking the same language the strange woman says as she exhales deeply, obviously evading the question.
