Chapter 5 The mafia's maid

"And another thing."

"What?"

"You don't know me."

"Got it."

He started the engine then he drove for fifteen minutes before stopping at a huge gate.

"Here is the gate, you have to go in alone, remember the guards are going to interrogate you." Damon warned. "Don't act nervous and answer all the questions like I've told you to."

He continued and she nodded.

'i can't believe I'm doing this.' Ashley thought.

"You are." Damon replied reading her mind and she smiled.

"Go!" He ordered and she nodded again then swallowed the lump that formed on her throat before climbing down from his car.

It was an old Toyota brand.

"If there is any problem you can call me." He added before driving off.

She stood at the gate trembling suddenly then gate opened and a guard who was probably in his early thirties came out side.

He was muscularly build as his abs gushed out from his guard uniform.

"What are you doing here young lady." He asked as he scanned her under his dark shades he was wearing.

"I...ca...me for the position of a maid." She stuttered.

"Ohh you can come in." He said then signaled for the gate to be opened and it did.

He winked at her before guiding her inside.

She shrieked at the thought of him hitting on her.

'you're like my daddy you pig!' She thought. 'at least that was easy.'

When inside, she gasped at the huge mansion in front of her. Their house was nothing compared to what stood in front of her.

From the gate was a walkway which lead to the front door of the mansion. Around it was grass and flowers. A beautiful garden.

'This guy is stinky rich.'

She thought.

"This way the guard interrupted." The guard directed which interrupted her thoughts as she stood gasping.

The guard guided her to the back of the building which a small house was build.

"Here is the maids quarter and a maid will show you to your room." The guard said then left.

She quickly ran inside.

The kitchen was so big and spacious, with different maid running here and there on their maid uniform.

This work is difficult but I have to do all this because of my sister Amelia.

"Are you the new maid" a older woman who look like someone on her 60s interrogated me.

"Yes ma I am."

"I am miss Clara the head cook."

"And you are".?

Ashley,"nice name you got."

"Here is your uniform you have to wear it when ever you are on duty."

"And your room is the one by the left at the cubicle, you already have a room mate."

"Now back to business."

"You have to make this pancake for master Jeremy and master damon."

"Please be fast about it."

"I took my time to make the pancakes because it not only for damon but for master Jeremy".

When I was done I put it on a tray and a maid directed me to the dinner table.

My steps were slow and steady I got nearer and my fears grew no bound.

The only words that was resounding like a bell on my head was the word damon told me.

"Don't get caught or all your family will be wiped out within the twinkle of an eye."

I could hear the voices of master Jeremy and that of damon.

I took a step closer and my eye came in contact with master Jeremy his face look so emotionaless and murky.

I bow to them as a sign of respect and then arrange the food on the table.

I turned to leave when his masculine voice halted me.

"Are you the new maid". ?

"Yes I muttered."

"You have to have a taste of what you just brought, I have to be sure you didn't poison me."

This guy is something else, I went closer to have a taste of the food and the drink.

"One rule you must abide to, you don't leave without my consent."

When I was done I stood there waiting for him to give me orders.

I stood for more than 30 minutes he still hasn't touch his food.

I gave damon a signal of which he noticed.

He whispered something to Jeremy ear, "you can go he muttered his gaze still at his phone."

Finally, I screamed for joy inside of me.

my legs screamed of freedom.

That Jeremy or whatever he calls himself need beating.

I rushed to my room to have a bath and arrange my things.

Not quite long a girl who I assume to be my roommate barge inside the room looking so sad.

"Who are you and what are you doing on my room."

"I mean no harm am Ashley the new maid."

"And so she shrieks."

"Am your new roommate."

"Ohh I see."

"Am Chloe and nice meeting you."

"Same here I muttered."

A message popped on my phone the message was from damon.

"YOU WILL BE ASSIGNED TO THE MARKET TOMORROW, MEET ME AT OUR USUAL SPOT."

After reading the message I deleted it, I don't want anything that will implicate me.

I lie down on my bed thinking about amelia, I hope she is alright.

With that I slept off only to wake up when the sun shown brightly on my face, I tried opening my eyes but was prevented from the sunrays coming

from the window I had to use the back of my palm to cover it up, with that I stood up from the bed yurning what a blessed day I thought.

I went to the bath room to bath,brush my teeth then dress up.

And then I quickly rushed to the kitchen.

miss clara gave me list of what am going to buy and the exact money for it.

I left and went to the usual spot where I meet damon.

He was in his car.
