Chapter 5 04 - THE LOST ONE

" Why aren't they back yet ?" Eleana asks as I gulp down the wine.

" Maybe those two brats found something to play with." I chuckle as Shawn groans.

" I have my sister's wedding in three days and my hair is all pink." he groans sadly.

" Your sister gave you that gift at her wedding." Elena laughs.

" Madam." the maid calls me bowing her head down.

" Yes ?" I mumble.

" Sir Enrique and madam Lopez are back," she says as Josephine stiffens.

" Mom is back." Eleana chirps loudly running out of the room.

" Josephine, everything is going to be fine. She is here but she won't take the place you're trying to make in their hearts from years." I assure her as she nods wiping her tears away.

" And if she does then we are your children." Shawn smiles hugging her.

" I love you both," she says kissing our foreheads.

" Let's go." I laugh walking to the main hall.

" Lopez." I smile hugging her.

She hasn't changed much in so many years, I still remember how gorgeous she was back then and how well she has maintained herself.

" You've grown into a beautiful lady, Sabrina." she smiles.

" Thank you, Lopez, you're gorgeous as always." I smile.

Shawn then hugs her and I notice Enrique, he had the brightest smile on his face. His mother meant the world to him.

" Where is my Elliot ?" Lopez asks totally ignoring Josephine.

" He's gone with Sage," I say as Enrique groans.

" Up to something again," he mutters as Shawn whines.

" My hair dude," Shawn mumbles sadly.

" My wife dude." Enrique mimics him.

Enrique and Lopez sit on the couch with Eleana as they begin talking among themselves. Josephine excuses herself going into the kitchen as I and Shawn sit on the couch listening to them. I really wanted to go and get Sage but then Elliot will hang me to death if they are in the middle of pranking someone and I'll go disturb them.

Soon our father and Mr. Princeton enter the room. Lopez and Mr. Princeton talk so normally as if they weren't ever couples and have three children together. It had me wondering if they ever loved each other.

Never mind, I'll only marry someone who loves me like the way Enrique loves my baby, Sage. Life would be so much wonderful and easy with your life partner who loves you unconditionally by your side.

" Sir sir." A maid rushes into the room screaming like a maniac.

" What's wrong ?" Enrique asks.

" Sir Elliot, he is tied up in the room," she says as we all crack up laughing.

" Sage and Elliot are back to their pranks again. Tell them we aren't getting fooled this time." Elena laughs.

" There is blood too and madam Sage's gown's torn pieces," she says as Shawn jerks up from the couch.

No. No matter what the prank was, Sage is never going to tear her wedding gown for this. It was her dream gown.

My heart crashes against my rib cage and goes back as we make our run to Elena's room.

Shawn was the first one to burst into the room after Enrique. The scene in front of us was horror. Elliot had a huge gash on his forehead and was tied down on the floor. Indeed Sage's dress's pieces were lying around the room making all types of bad thoughts run in my mind.

" Elliot. Where is Sage ?" Enrique screams but Elliot seemed to be in another phase.

He just kept staring at the floor with red puffy eyes as silent tears rolled down his cheeks.

" Speak up Elliot," Shawn screams slapping him.

"It's all because of you." Elliot suddenly yelled pushing Enrique away.

" All because of you," he screams as Mr. Princeton slaps him.

" What are you talking about ?" Mr. Princeton growls.

" They took her. They took Sage." Elliot screams but ends up sobbing.

" No. No. You're lying. You're joking, right ?" Shawn asks as tears already begin rolling down his cheeks.

" They took her. Why did you slap them Eleana? Why did you act like an asshole, Enrique? They took Sage." Elliot screams pulling his hair.

"It's a lie. You all are lying. Nothing happened to my Sage. She's right here playing a prank on us." Shawn screams smashing the lamp on the floor.

He clutches her gown material close to his chest sobbing loudly.

" Sage baby. Please come out." Shawn sobs as I collapse on the floor.

I want my Sage back. I want my little doll back.

" Nothing happened to my Sage," Shawn mumbles sobbing as he rocks himself back and forth.

" Dad." I sob pointing to Shawn.

He was this disturbed emotionally when mom left, I haven't seen my strong brother cry after that day and this was crushing down my soul.

" Shawn calm down," Dad says hugging him but Shawn was only calling out for Sage.

Enrique was running around the room yelling on the phone, Eleana was saying something to me, Elliot was sobbing about something but nothing reached my ears. All I could think of was my little sister. Please god, protect her.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

The mansion sat in disturbing silence. So silent was the rough sound of the harsh winds were audible.

There was a storm last night, but the storm in our hearts from the last six days hasn't come to any calm.

Six days. 144 hours. 8640 minutes. 518400 seconds.

And there is no sign of our Sage.

How is she?

Is she safe?

Is she hurt?

Is she crying for us to come and save her?

Is she hungry?

Is she in pain?

Is she . . . alive?

Nothing has moved in the six days. Shawn hasn't let go of her clothes, he seems to be just the way he once got when mom left.

Elliot does nothing except crying. He seems to be in his own phase.

Elena can't stop blaming herself for it especially after Elliot again accused her and Enrique of this. Elliot's pain is understandable, he has lost a part of himself but blaming Eleana for this was only getting bitter feelings in their relationship.

Enrique fought a lot for the first few days, he is even fighting now but it seems he also knew that we can't do anything now.

Enrique sent his personal agents after the police officers couldn't locate them, but all of them came back empty-handed. We locked down the whole town but yet there wasn't any sign of our little Sage.

The blaring of Shawn's phone's ringtone made me gasp as goosebumps appeared on my skin.

Knowing Shawn won't answer, Eleana picked up the call. I wiped my tears hugging the pillow when Eleana began screaming.

" They found Sage. They found Sage," she screams as everyone jerks up.

" Where ?" Enrique screams.

" Fortune Valley Clinic," she says.

Enrique didn't wait for more as he rushed out. We ran behind him getting into the cars.

My hands kept trembling all the way to the hospital. I felt like a huge rock was placed on me, which didn't allow me to breathe properly.

" Sage Martinez ?" Elliot growls at the counter.

" Yes sir Elliot, she is in the intensive care unit for now but doctor Richard has asked you to meet him." the receptionist says.

Without replying to her, the boys run into uncle Richard's cabin. I sob as Josephine comforts me walking in the others.

" Where is Sage uncle? How is she ?" They bombard questions at him.

" Listen, I know you're worried about her but let's take this slow. I don't want to give you any shock or want any of you to have a panic attack right here so please cooperate," he says as Enrique runs out of patience.

" Where is my Sage ?" he growls.

" She is not good." Richard snaps at him.

" Look, I'm sorry but your Sage has been a victim of a really brutal gang rape."
