Chapter 6 A Cinderella's Glass Slipper

"Hey, hey. Wait up!" Chloe yelled. After that incidence at the club, I had been so pissed. She immediately halted directly in front of me. "What happened? I saw you walk out after you talked to Liam and that man. Is all ok?" She asked, arching her brows. "Off course nothing is ok. . . Wait, you know Liam?" I asked her, arching my brows at how she talked about him "Duhh, who doesn't? He's from the famous James billionaire family girl." She said. "W-What?" I reacted in shock. Deep down, I wasn't surprised. The rich always flaunted their money which his arrogant ass did. "Yeah, so tell me.

Why did you leave?" she asked again. Chloe had already walked with me to the outer part of the club. "Oh, it's nothing." I said. I didn't want her to worry about the slightest things when it came to me. "I-I- have to go, Chloe. I don't think I can stand another moment in this club." I told her. "But, the drinks. . ." she trailed out. I didn't even give her a moment to consider my decision. "I'm really sorry, I promise I'll make it up to you." I apologized with a convincing face. I knew I was so going to explain myself later. But, at least by then, I'd be emotionally stable. Not pissed from my freaking encounter with two annoying males. === In the morning the next day, I had worn my best attire in my cloth bag. It was a vintage gown which had a flowery neckline strapped to my upper neck. My hair was packed in a loose bun. Since it was still curled from Chloe's previous makeover, I let out two strands by the side. I got out of my house after I had checked on my mum. She was asleep since I left as early as 9am. I had attempted to take the morning bus but it seemed like I was too late for it. I could have called Chloe for help but after last night, I didn't want to bother her till I had time to explain about Liam's appearance at the club last night. As I walked the road, I tried to dodge a huge block when I heard a rip sound. My eyes froze in shock at what just happened. No, no, no. Tell me it's not what I think it is. I thought, looking down at my shoes. "Damn!" I had seethed out. Indeed it was my shoes. The right leg had ripped at the head I didn't blame the poor shoes. I had used them for so long that I couldn't remember. "What am I going to do now?" I asked to no one in particular. I couldn't go home because I really needed to be at the job today. As I tried to fix the shoe, I heard a horn blare just behind me. At first, I chose to ignore it because it was a really unfamiliar car. And, I didn't know anyone using something as sleek as this. But, I knew I did when I saw who drove the car. My worst enemy. Liam James. I watched as his tinted window glass rolled down. He looked as good as ever. His eyes was in sun shades which suited his attire. Oh, what was I doing admiring him? "Good morning, red." He told me, still inside the car I knew I'd never be able to afford. "You're here to mock me, right? Just do it." I told him and carried on walking. I thought he'd leave me. But, he didn't. He just kept driving and following me. "Off course, not." He answered. I ignored him and continued walking with one foot. The shoes were in my hands. I wanted him to think I was ok. As I stomped the bare foot on the floor, I grunted in pain at the amount of stones that grazed them. "Need some help?" he asked. "Does it look like I will take it from someone like you?" I retorted, still walking the street. "Well, I think you should. If you keep walking to the office, I doubt you'll reach your destination on time." He said, reminding me. To some extent he was right. But, accepting a ride from him would be like hell itself. He was the worst nightmare I had ever come across. "I'm not going to change my mind so you better back off!" I told him off rudely. He was such an arrogant person who thought swinging his assets in women earned him something. "Easy, easy. Ok, I will go. But don't blame me when you loose your job." He answered me. That hit me. What if I actually lost this job for being late? I mean, what was I even going to tell mum? "Or you could gently accept my offer, red?" he suggested again. This time he opened his automatic car door which swung in the air. It was a Maserati I recognized from a magazine at Chloe's place. Gosh, I couldn't lose my job. Sighing, I entered his car. "Count this as nothing." I seethed, sitting just at the front, beside him. The automatic door closed the moment I got in. Liam's car radio played a pop song I recognized. It was something quite popular. In fact, I borrowed Chloe's head phones special for the song. But, that wasn't going to melt me. Not at all. "You are really hard headed, red. And, I like my women just like that." He replayed out. "Ha, ha. In your wildest dreams." I answered, looking at the other side of the window. I really couldn't stand seeing his face. "You seem to have a problem with your shoes earlier. I have a spare one at my booth you could take." He said. Though the offer was tempting, but. . . "No, thanks." I quickly said. After a while, he halted the car to a stop. We had reached the office. I immediately felt grateful for that. As I came down, he did to. Liam approached me with a style I had never noticed before. He dressed like he had just stepped out of the fashion magazine. He also had a muscular and Greek looking appearance most ladies would die for. "You're not still going to accept the shoes, are you?" he asked me. A part of me wondered why he even cared. In the first place. I was about to mouth off a no when he suddenly grabbed my arms. Liam dragged me to his car's booth. He brought the shoes out of his booth, dropping it just in front of me. "Here." He said. "Now put it on." He added. "Nope, I don't need your help." I retorted. I wasn't prepared for what came next. Liam lifted me into his arms in a bridal style and placed me on his car. "W-What a-are you doing?" I asked him, stammering at how bold he was. That instant, a bunch of paparazzi surrounded the both of us. I knew it was definitely from him. "Mr. James, Mr. James. Tell us about her." One asked, bringing his recorder. Lots of flashes were on my face from the amount of shots that have been taken alone. "Is she your girlfriend?" Another asked. "She is pretty stubborn and cute. And, yeah. She's my girlfriend." He said. My eyes froze in shock at whatever he had just said. What was he up to? "This looks like a Cinderella scene, Mr. James. What did you intend on doing when you lifted her?" A female came forward, asking. "Putting on her glass slipper." He answered. I was so in trouble. ------------------------------------------
