Chapter 7 Difficult Tomorrow

Seeing the look of astonishment on my face, Eli couldn't hold back his laughter.

"Don't be that face. You weren't entirely wrong with your guesswork at the end of the day. Our band has grown a lot so far, and I really love our fans. It's just that they are sometimes too intrusive. So I often need to be alone and take time for myself."

He looked me straight in the eyes as he said that. All of a sudden, a shiver ran through my spine. Night had already fallen on the city, so had the temperature.

Noticing that I was cold, he immediately pulled me close to him and enveloped me in a tight, warm embrace. It was so sweet and warm. I felt so good that I let myself go, resting my head on his shoulder. Seeing that I still had the empty dessert dish in my hands, he reached out and got rid of it.

"Thank you," I said with a smile.

"I'll tell you about an incident that scared the hell out of me concerning the fans. So there is this fan who followed us once from the concert hall to the hotel. In fact, she had been preparing for it a long time ago and had a taxi waiting to follow our car... You will be dumbfounded when I tell you what she did next. She went through a ventilation duct all the way to our room, and waited there for hours until we fell asleep. She then went to sleep in Sam's bed! My word, she was really a weirdo! I don't know how she managed to do that feat. All I know however is that it just drove me crazy. And a little paranoid too ..."

Amused saying these things out loud, Eli laughed at his last sentence. The whole time he had his hand in my hair, his fingers playing with a strand of my hair. It was so intimate and nice.

"And how did it end ?"

"Well, as soon as we noticed her intrusion in our room, we called the security. It was at around 3 a.m. What happened next, I don't know, and quite frankly, I don't care ."

"Oh, gosh! I really would like to know," I said pouting.

With a smile, he took my hand and intertwined my fingers with his. I just let him do. He hands were warm, and the warmth touch felt so great on my cold fingers. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, savoring the moment to the fullest.

****

Yawning, I slowly opened my eyes. A bright light flooded the room. I quickly looked around, my eyes narrowed. I blinked a few times. 'Am I dreaming?' I wondered. A thought suddenly occurred to me, and I quickly lifted the blanket. I was still wearing my clothes from last night. Damn! I fell asleep yesterday on the swing... I straightened up and sat on the bed: it was huge and really soft. I then walked my gaze around what seemed to be a princely bedroom. I was in his bedroom!

Of course, where else did I expect to find myself? Perhaps I thought he would sell me while I was asleep ...

I rubbed my eyelids, trying to chase what little sleep I had left. As I stretched, I watched my strapless dress suddenly descend. Note to myself: no longer stretching with this dress.

Knock, knock! I finally heard a knock on the door. That should be Eliott! I hastily pulled up my dress before telling him to come in.

Gosh! I should definitely have a scary face right now. My makeup must have fallen off and I certainly had dark circles... Talk less of my hair... I couldn't allow him to see me like that! Seeing the door slowly opening, I threw myself on it to close it back.

"Aouch! Is anything wrong? I thought you just told me to come in!" Eliott exclaimed, slightly annoyed.

"Sorry, just wait a minute," I pleaded.

I then rushed to the bathroom to tidy up, thanking the god of the royal suites that the bathroom was in the bedroom.

Quickly, I took a shower. Once I was done, I walked out of the bathroom and looked for my purse. I couldn't found it though.

"Damn it!" I exclaimed.

'What do I do now ?!' Inside there was my lady's first aid kit, which consisted of: mascara, makeup remover, concealer, toothbrush and toothpaste, and of course, a clean panty. I had to find it!

I stuck my head out of the bathroom, and realized that it actually faces the bedroom. I laughed at my stupidity before continuing my impossible mission

...

Damn! Why didn't I bring it along with me? Gosh! I can have really shitty days.

Whatever, I had to get the purse. I took a deep breath, mustering all my strength. I walked to the door and opened it. Eliott was on the swing on his terrace! Whee! I was so relieved now, I could calmly search for the purse. I glanced at the towel wrapped around me, to make sure it didn't reveal anything that shouldn't be seen. Reassured, I stomped out...

Where the fuck is that purse?! Ah! My eyes finally fell on it. It was on the sofa! I turned to check if Eliott was still on the swing, but I couldn't see him anymore... Where had he gone just now? Too tensed to try to figure it out, I just grabbed the purse and went back to the room.

When I turned around for the second time, my heart almost stopped beating. Eliott stood behind me, his arms crossed over his chest, with a smirk.

I swallowed hard. The embarrassment I felt at this particular moment was indescribable.

To make matters worse, he burst out laughing when he saw my embarrassment. Squeezing the purse I was holding tighter, I rushed into the bedroom.

Through the closed door, I could still hear Eliott's laughter. What an embarrassment!

I hurriedly put on my dress, my clean panty, brushed my teeth and my hair and finally applied a light makeup. It was only after I was satisfied that I went out. I felt a little ashamed whilst Eliott was laughing his lungs out, seated on the sofa.

"It's cute to put all this effort for me. But you know, I saw you bluntly and yet my mind hasn't changed. Nonetheless, it was still a lot of fun ..."

I was as red as a tomato and I dared not move an inch, too ashamed of my superficial behavior.

"Why are you messing around with me ?"

I lowered my head and stared at a point on the carpet, drawing a circle with my foot.

"I do not know... Whatever the case, you better not start imagining stuffs. I didn't do all this to please you !"

Wait, did I really say that?

It seemed to me that he blushed slightly. However, he didn't but lose his poise.

"You don't need to do all of this, trust me," he said, running his hand on the back of his neck.

An awkward silence slowly crept between us. I could hear crickets chirping. "Chirp, chirp ..."

"Uhm... I'll have to go. I have to change before going to work, and... I..."

He smiled at me. I must say that I had never seen a dude smile that much.

He stood up and walked to the front door, where he took what I think were his car keys. Afterwards he held the door for me.

"I'll drop you," he said in a firm tone.

"No, it's alright, I..."

"It wasn't a request," he cut me short, in the same tone.

Understanding it was pointless to argue, I obediently followed him to his car.
