Chapter 9 Have you ever been in a relationship

CHAPTER 9

BELLA

I watched him as his eyes danced on the floor. He seemed so uncomfortable and I enjoyed seeing him that way.

" Hey, you don't have to act like I asked you to kill someone," I said, laughing.

" I don't know what to say," he said.

" it was a joke. l didn't mean it " I said trying to suppress my laughter.

" oh, you really don't have to pull my legs that much, Bella " he smiled.

I watched him again, there was a moment of silence between us and I was glad nothing happened to him at the party.

He made me feel type some kind of secured.

"Why don't we go see the beach tomorrow,uhmm...we can also go for sightseeing. Are u game?

" That would be really nice so yeah, I'm game," I said smiling at the idea of us spending time together.

" uhm, I'll just let the stewards know. Goodnight Bella"

" Goodnight Lucas"

I watched him as he closed my room door.

Today was supposed to be a good day till Tecca had to ruin it.

After I left her room, I thought about what transpired the whole day.

How the party moved from a happy day to almost a sad day and Tecca is still out there roaming freely.

I'll make sure the next time we meet, he'll end up in jail. l don't care who his father knows.

Just then, l got a call.

"Good evening Mr Lucas" it was the inspector.

" Good evening, inspector "

"I heard of the disturbance at your place earlier, my squad couldn't get there on time but I promise you to get the guy arrested," he said and I honestly wasn't mad at him.

" it's nothing inspector, we are all ok. I just need few of your men at my place to watch over my house. My wife and I will be going out tomorrow and I need escorts" though am a mafia prince, have decided to use the law this time.

The thought of calling her my wife thrilled me in a way I couldn't explain.

" Okay, Mr Lucas, is that all?" He asked.

" That will be all for now". i replied

We talked about other things and the call ended.

I showered and got ready for bed. I wanted to sleep early so as to wake up early for the Picnic at the beach.

THE NEXT DAY

BELLA

I got ready for the picnic and sat on my bed waiting for Lucas. He was in my room earlier.

" Bella are you ready?" He asked standing at my door.

He looked charming in his beach clothes, I wished he would look like this throughout. He looked smart in his suits too but he looked boyish dressed like this.

"Come on "he smiled and proffered his hand. l hesitated before placing my hand on his.

I stood up as he led me to the car.

"Hope you're okay? " he asked as I sat in the car.

"Yes "I answered as I put my seatbelt on.

" Are they following us?" I asked as he turned to look at the undercover policemen behind us.

"Yes, we don't know who might be lurking in the shadows," he said smiling at me.

We started driving to the beach. We got there and started unpacking when we got to his families beach house.

I changed my clothes and went outside with him.

" you like it here? " he asked turning to stare at me.

" yes, the weather is nice and I like the fresh air, it's soothing" I answered closing my eyes.

He laughed.

LUCAS

I watched as she closed her eyes smiling, I loved her smile.

Bella had turned me into someone who watches out for her smiles and I'm loving it in some kinda way.

We strolled around the beach and I took her to the place where my parents had their honeymoon.

" wow, this place is nice," she said in awe.

" Thanks. My parents never wanted to leave the country for their honeymoon, so my dad got this place" I explained further.

" I see your dad is romantic, this is really a nice idea"

" They were very in love"

I saw her face turn pale.

" what's wrong Bella?" I asked

" it's nothing, just that I was always wanted a romantic marriage," she said sadly.

" I'm sorry, Bella. I hope this is for your own good. But no worries, I'm gonna be a romantic husband "

"Really? " i nodded.

"Thanks, Lucas, "she said and hugged me. She kissed me and my eyes widened.

She looked at me and chuckled before walking away.

l shook my head. "Isabel, wait up! "

We walked around the house for a while with me explaining everything to her. We finally got to our room.

"Uhmm , Bella there's actually one room here so we have to share it" I drawled, expecting the worst from her.

"It's nothing, it's fine. Besides, couples share a room, don't they?" she said, smiling.

"You are getting sweet, ain't you? "l asked and she laughed.

"Maybe "

We ate and talked for a while before heading to the room.

It was really nice watching her smile all day and I was really happy knowing I was the reason for it.

I looked at her as she talked to her Mom on phone.

" Ok mom, bye"

She turned to me. We stared at each other for a while.

"Have you ever been in a relationship? "I asked her.

"Relationship?? No way! "she replied and l sat down next to her.

"l thought as much. Well, I've not been in a real relationship but l do have mistresses, you know "l responded, smugly and she frowned.

"Umm .. goodnight "she rasped and laid the bed.

l smiled and laid on the bed too. I moved close to her and caressed her arms.

"Leave me alone, Lucas! "she yelped and laid on her back.

"You could have just told me you don't want me to have mistresses and l would have listened to you. Besides, l have a wife who can satisfy all my needs "l drawled and she gazed at me for a while.

"Really? "

l nodded.

"Then don't have any mistress, you can, right? "she asked and l nodded.

"Of course, l can but on one condition "l stated and rolled her eyes.

"Oh! please, Lucas! Okay, what is this condition? Tell me "

"Well, you have to give me what l get from those mistresses of mine, "l said and she stared at me, wide-eyed.

Suddenly, she smiled.

"Of course, hubby. l will do just that "she answered, smiling and l batted my lashes.

"in fact, let's start now "she rasped and kissed me. I was shocked and mute for a while.

"Isabel, are you okay? "l asked and touched her forehead. "You don't have a fever, do you? "

"Stop it, Lucas "she laughed. "I'm perfectly fine, nothing's wrong with me "

"But you are acting strange. Come on, let's go to bed "l rasped and pulled up the quilt.

"Lucas, l wanna sleep in your arms "she whined and l chuckled.

"Okay then "l replied and embraced her before covering up with the quilt.
