Chapter 5 Five

"Just the man I've been looking for." Timi said eagerly immediately Ayo entered the house.

"No, you're not getting anything out of me." there was no way he was going to share his time with the goddess to Timi. Even if he was his best friend.

Timi frowned "Oh c'mon joor. Don't be like this nah."

When Ayo shook his head, he groaned. "Fine. At least tell me you got her number."

"I'm not telling you anything concerning her." he assured as he closed the door of Timi's two room apartment.

He sighed and his shoulders slumped. His gaze fell on the tilled floor as he reminisced the so little time he spent with her.

"Look at me!"

He threw Timi a glare.

"Did she ask about me?" he smiled. "Maybe she wanted to know the beautiful man beside you."

Ayo laughed. She didn't even remember who she spent the night with, much less him.

"I mean, I'll forgive her for what she said to me." he snickered. "Hurt my feelings but, let's just blame it on the alcohol." he rubbed his hands together as he licked his lips.

"So when are we seeing her again?"

Ayo snorted. "Dude, you were out of her mind the minute you went to dance."

He laughed as Timi's smile froze in place and slowly fell.

"Well that's a nice way to put it!" he forced through clenched teeth. "So...how was your night?" he wiggled his brows.

Ayo tapped his chin, tilting his head. After a while, he shrugged, " I can't remember."

"So, you're really not going to let me in on anything?" Timi yelled. Obviously annoyed.

But Ayo was not going to share anything, even details. Though, she had ogled them both, and according to Timi; "it's only fair if the one who got the action gave the other, details."

"No." he refused.

"Na wa oo." Timi hissed.

Ayo ignored him and made his way to his room. He needed to shower, eat and rest.

The three things he was unable to do back at Ivy's. His lips twitched as he remembered the scowl on her face when he called her that.

Even at that, she still looked so beautiful. So much so that she should be locked behind bars for it. To make matters worse, she dressed in a sexy outfit and that just did it.

"Hey!" Timi yelled. Suddenly appearing in front of him. "What are you smiling about? Your night with her?

He ignored the question and proceeded to walk around him.

"Yeah that's it, walk away." Timi clapped. "You're ignoring me because of a woman. Good one Ayo. Your Mom will hear this." He whined and threatened.

Ayo face palmed. Times like this he wandered how the two of them became friends.

He lifted his hands on his head and flipped him the finger. He heard his gasp and just chuckled at Timi's drama.

"Can you at least tell me what she called you during the night?" he pleaded.

"Sure, she called me dumbstar." He turned to face him and was met with a shocked face. The same one he had on when Ivonne had knocked down the juice to help with her hangover.

She acted and talked like she had some hidden hatred for everyone and everything. Living or non-living.

While he was in the kitchen, he had overheard her conversation with someone on the phone.

Her words; Scumbags. Lazy. Dumbstar.

Seems like he wasn't the original owner of that name.

"She called you," Timi took a step forward. "...a dumpster?"

"No, a dumb," he popped the 'b', "...star. Dumbstar."

"How does that make any sense?" he frowned. "Hold up, what did you do?"

Ayo furrowed his brows " What do you mean what did I do?"

Timi folded his arms and held his head high, "A gorgeous woman like that would not call you, A dumbstar, unless you did something wrong."

Ayo gaped in awe. "I can't believe you're trusting a woman over me."

He glared "Says the man who ignored his childhood friend for a girl he met not under twenty four hours."

"That's what this is about?"Ayo laughed.

"Again, what did you do?"

" I didn't do anything, ok? She's just-"

"Or," Timi interrupted. "What did you not do?" he widened his eyes, glanced down and back up at him.

"Unless what?" Ayo asked, perplexed as he looked down and saw nothing.

"Guy." Timi called and walked closer to him. "Tell me you perform well, abeg."

"What?"

He pointed to his crotch and realization set in. Ayo knocked his hand away. Cupping himself, he backed away from Timi who was eyeing his hands suspiciously.

"Hey, my eyes are up here." Ayo yelled.

" Guy! I'm your wingman. This kine thing no suppose happen. Which eye dem go use take look me now?" he placed his hand on his head. "I always told you to take lessons."

"Lessons on what? What are you talking about? Shift abeg!" He backed away.

"How can you make a fool out of yourself."Timi scolded. "You know what?" he pursed his lips

"As your beat friend, wingman, and mentor-"

"Men what?"

"...it is my job to rectify that." he searched his pockets and took out his phone.

"What are you doing?" Ayo glanced down at the phone.

"I'm calling Sophia over." he announced. "We are having a threesome and you are taking lessons!" he told. "You cannot shame me."

"Ehn?" Ayo huffed. "You can't be serious."

"We are going to rectify it because you cannot mess up and drag my name in the mud."

"Rectify what now? You're getting this all wrong-"

"Shut up and listen to your teacher." he placed the phone against his hear.

"Hey babe," his voice went soft and smooth. It was his usual tone around women.

"My friend and I was wondering if-"

Ayo snatched the phone and ran.

"Adeoluwa Ayomide Nelson! Come back here! You can't run forever." Timi taunted as he ran after him.

"Get away from me!"

***

Behind the closed transparent double glass door, Kemi and Ivonne were pacing back and forth on the marble floor. A heated argument going on.

"What the hell, Ivonne!" Kemi bellowed. Giving her a stare of disbelief. "How could you be so dumb to do something like this?" she raised the laminated paper and glared at her.

The sound of a glass vase crashing on the floor had Kemi narrowing her eyes.

"Again," Ivonne said calmly. "I was drunk!" she yelled. Maneuvering around the shattered vase, she went behind her desk and sat.

Kemi ran her fingers through her black hair. "Well there's no use shouting about it. It's already been done and legalized. You can't breach the contract." she informed before slamming the power of written words on the desk.

Ivonne shot daggers at the paper through her eyes. She had always known how dangerous contracts were. She had just enter been at the receiving end.

Apparently, the dumbstar was right when he said she promised him pleasure for a whole month.

Not only did she promise, she also wrote a letter containing her signature and his, stating that she would pleasure him for a month.

She made a contract. A freaking contract!

"I can't believe this." Ivonne huffed. Placing her hands over her face, she hung her head in shame.

"Can't believe what?" Kemi asked. "The fact that he's an idiot and you're a moron?"

She lifted her head and glared at her. "Why do I get the bigger word?" she scowled.

"Because it's means a stupid person, an idiot and a fool all at once." Kemi pointed out. She sat back on a chair and placed her hands on the desk.

"But did you really have to drink like it was your last day on Earth last night?" she queried.

"Hey! You can't blame me." she said. "What was I to do? I had a lot on my mind. I have to find a 'Nelson' before the end of Next Month."

"Ivonne, Next month is not until Monday. You still got time."

"Time waits for no man Kemi. I don't have time. Daniella could be out there finding someone and must have introduced him to Dad. I don't want to sit here and wait for Tuesday. No way!" She yelled.

Taking in deep breaths, she controlled her breathing in an attempt to calm herself down. She glanced at the contract in front of her, "Now look, I not only wrote that rubbish but made it a contract as well."

She huffed. "Who knows? Maybe I twitted it on twitter too. I be like; 'oh my gosh, I just made a contract with someone I don't know. Hash tag sex month, hash tag fun time with stranger, hash tag i'm frustrated." she laughed with no humor.

"My life is going great." Ivonne said and narrowed her eyes, dropping her head back in the comfort of her palms as her elbows hoisted her up.

After a while, "I didn't mean to raise my voice at you." she held Kemi's gaze. "I'm just...so mad at my father right now." she said apologetically. "If it weren't for him, i wouldn't be in all this mess."

"Mmm, I know that. It's ok, I understand." Kemi cooed. She walked over to her and massaged her shoulders. Trying to get her to ease up.

Ivonne sighed, relaxing.

"Well, think about it. You still get to have fun during all this trouble. All you gotta do is call the man." she teased.

Ivonne pushed her away as her lips twitched in a smile. She stood and began to pace, "Do you always have to be so-" she searched for the right words. "I don't know...cheerful? about everything?"

Kemi grinned, "One reason why your brother loves me so much."

Ivonne just rolled her eyes, groaning loudly. " Kemi, this is not the time to talk about my brother. For God's sake girlfriend, I'm in a mess." she picked up the paper from beside her.

"You see this? This is-ugh! A big t-total scam. That guy played me. What if he was sent by the press? This is going to give me a bad image, then my dad would not want to give me the company anymore." she trembled as she said those words. "Kemi I'm ruined. Ruined!"

"First off, calm down, we'll sort this out. We always do. There must something we can do."

Kemi took the paper and studied it. She muttered, " I, Ivonne Amaka Johnson promise to-"

"Jeez! Don't read it out loud." Ivonne groaned and hung her head in shame. Still couldn't believe she even used her full name.

"Reading it out loud doesn't mean your dad will hear it. Ivonne, chill out." she rolled her eyes.

"Chill out?" she mumbled to herself. Testing the foreign word. "Kemi, you want me to chill out? How the fu-"

"You heard right. That's the only reasonable thing now. What do you want to do?" Kemi asked with a deep frown on her face.

"Scream like a mad woman till your voice fades? Go right ahead and if that solves the problem, then you can eat my head." Kemi yelled and folded her arms. Her lips in a thin line as she titled her head and gave her a sideways look.

Ivonne shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other before moving to sit behind her desk.

"You could try searching him out on Social Media?"

"Ha!" she stared at Kemi with one brow arched in awe.

"Sure, why not tell me to go on twitter and twit the contract with the hash tags; finding missing dick, dm if it's you, and sex month!" she snapped.

After a while, "Sorry, I'm just very irritable right now." she apologized for the second time.

Kemi sighed, "I can see that."

Oh baby baby,

take take take take my heart,

if e no dey take my life,

Carry cheque book write am out as e do you write am down...

Kemi's phone rang and she dug it out from her handbag on Ivonne's desk.

"I'll be right back." she muttered before walking out.

Ivonne dropped her head on her desk and squeezed her eyes close. Trying to wake from this nightmare she threw herself in.

"This is all just a bad dream." she whispered to her guardian angel who must've deserted her years ago.

"Oh my God!" Ivonne gasped and jerked. Her eyes flew opened as she glanced over everything in the state of panic. If only this had happened after she had the company then she didn't think she would mind spending a few nights with him. He did have a terrific body.

But then again, he could be some kind of a spy sent by the press to ruin her-

Why was she even panicking?

Him not turning up would be great. She could hide the papers, and after a month if he still doesn't show up, it would be over.

She didn't need to look for him. As long as he wasn't in her house, or stopping by later.

"Yeesh. Fine, I'm going. I'll come check up on you later."

She did threaten she'd have him arrested if he even tried. As long as he had no idea about the papers, then she was good for the next one month besides her by force vacation ruining her month of good productivity.

The door opened and she jerked her head in it's direction. Kemi walked in, her eyes on her phone before she tucked it into her back pocket.

"Sorry, David called and I had-"

"Its fine." she said causing Kemi to slow in her steps.

"O...kay." she squinted her eyes. "Why do you look fine?"

Ivonne smirked, "Well, my dear friend, I have come up with the perfect solution and after a few minutes of thinking about it. I have to admit, it's the greatest plan."

Kemi took her seat and leaned forward. "Tell me."

"The plan, is to do nothing."

Her smile froze in place. "Uhm, I don't get."

Ivonne just rolled her eyes as leaned back on her chair. " Kems, it's simple. If I don't find him, then I don't get to sleep with him. I mean, out of sight, out of reach, right?" she chuckled.

"So out of sight, out of my bed."

Kemi thought for a while, pondering on those words. She saw nothing wrong with it. If the boy didn't know about the contract, then nothing was going to happen.

"Okay, true. That makes sense. That is so relaxing."

"And relieving." Ivonne chimed in. "To think I was fussing over nothing." she scoffed with a little shake of her head.

"Now that that's over," Kemi heaved a sigh. "Do you want to go grab something to eat?" she rubbed her hands together with a cheerful smile on her face.

"I don't know." Ivonne looked down at the work she had, pilled up on her desk for today. "I have to get all this done before I'm kicked out of my office-"

"Enough with that, abeg." Kemi kissed her teeth. "We'll come back fast. Please. There's this restaurant down town that's newly opened."

"Fine." she sighed. "Only because I'm super hungry and had nothing to eat last night." she rose and took her bag.

"You drank on an empty stomach. Why am I not surprised?" Kemi said with irritation.

"You'll get used to it."

"Four yeara later and I still don't like it." she scoffed.

Ivonne walked past her as the corner of her mouth quirked. She headed to the door and pulled it wide open.

"Oh wait, the contract." Kemi said. "Don't want your workers using this against you. You know they wouldn't hesitate." she teased.

"Oh I'd love to see them try."

Kemi hurried to the desk and picked up the laminated paper. Just to make sure it was the right one, she quickly reread it.

Convinced she held the right in, she began pushing it into the envelope when the words she read rushed back to her.

She froze. Tilting her head to the side, she squinted her eyes as she tried to think.

Something she'd read looked and sounded familiar.

"What are you waiting for?" Ivonne groaned as she spun on her heels to see her frozen.

"I don't know. I think I saw something quite strange." she said in a small voice filled with thoughts and Ivonne closed the door.

Quickly, she brought out the papers again, she read it and when she got to the guy's part, her eyes gawked at the name.

"Oh my God!" she exclaimed.

"What? what is it?" Ivonne rushed over, throwing her bag to the floor not caring where it dropped.

Lifting her head, she glanced up at Ivonne and held her gaze. "At the house, when your Father called you for a...uhm...a meeting. You said you mentioned a name,"

"Yes, why?" she answered, confusion written all over her face. When Kemi's face lit up, she staggered back with a frown settling on her brows.

"Nelson?" Kemi asked.

Ivonne nodded slowly, not breaking eye contact.

She watched as Kemi's face split in two with a huge smile. "I think we just killed two birds with one stone."

"I don't understand-"

"The stranger you banged-"

"Point of correction, I can't remember if we-"

"And made a promise with," Kemi continued anyways. "Alongside this legal document," she held the paper up.

Ivonne pushed the paper aside, "Why are you listing things?"

"The guy here, happens to be a Nelson!"

Her eyes widened in shock as breath left her, "What! That's a lie-"

"Ivonne, the name clearly states here-"

She took the paper from her grip and turned to read. She skimmed through it, searching for the name.

Her jaw dropped as she felt her heart slow down.

"K-Kemi." she stuttered as she gawked into the paper.

"Ivonne."

'Adeoluwa Ayomide Nelson.'

"oh shit."
