"So now that I've spoken a little about myself, why don't you tell me about yourself." Erick smiled at me.

"I already did, I told you how I don't like living Like this but you've made me understand that I should be grateful for the life I'm living" I said and he beamed.

"Okay well, do you have a dream? A goal?" He asked.

I breathed out softly.

"Yeah I do, a really big one" I said and he scoot closer to me.

"which is?"

"I want to be famous, I want to be a celebrity, I want to be recognised, I want to be the second Maria Li" I said and he tilt his head strangely.

"Really?" he scoffed.

"Yeah" I replied.

"Wow that's a big waste of dream if you ask me" Erick laughed.

"What the hell do you mean" I snapped.

"it's not a bad thing to want to be like someone, but you should have said you want to be a celebrity, a talented one, not I want to be the second Maria Li, look you can be any celebrity you want but when it comes to Maria Li you better step back". Erick scoffed, again!

"Why would you say that, Maria Li's an angel" I smiled.

"Yeah angel my foot. She's a complete opposite" Erick rolled his eyes.

"And what makes you think so?" I fold my arms.

"Cause I've met her" He smirked.

"Look pal, you may be rich, but not everyone, can meet the amazing Maria Li" I said and he looked at him and shook his head negatively

"You're obsessed with her" he said.

"Yeah and so what?"

"you shouldn't try to be like someone else, just be yourself" he said calmly.

"I just like all her songs and personality that's all" I said and he smiled.

"But you just said you want to be the second Maria Li but sure yeah when it comes to singing Maria Li is a diva, she's the best, all her music videos are extremely chic and catchy, she has this pretty smile and face, but in reality she's not that kind of person." He stated again making me roll my eyes.

"oh please. Just say you're in love with her" I smirked.

"Me? In love with her? No way!." Erick scoffed. and I looked at him weirdly.

"Okay then let me ask, when did you 'meet' Maria Li" I asked putting "air" quote around Meet.

"I met her once, when she had her fan-sig-

"fan-signing event" I interrupted him and he nods.

"You met her just once during her fan signing and all of a sudden, you know she's a complete opposite of herself, If you listen to yourself you'll know you're talking like a psycho" I stated and he laughed.

"Have you ever been to her concert or fan signing event before?" he asked.

"Nope" I said a little embarrassed by that and he sighed.

"Then don't act like you know it all, Maria Li isn't such an angel!" Erick stated and I nudged him.

"when did I act like I knew it all" .

"Do you know Daniel Anderson?" he suddenly asked.

"Ugh, you know him too? How come he's so popular among teenagers and I'm just finding out!" I rolled my eyes.

"Good you know him, his concert is this Friday are you going?" He asked slowly but I shook my head negatively.

"At least if you go, you'll get to know what it feels like attending a concert before attending Maria Li's concert" He said and my head turned to him.

"Well... Thinking about it now, I haven't been to any concert before and would like to go to one for sure! I would love to go but I don't have any ticket and my friend in school invited me already but I declined and if she sees me there, she'll kill me, I know Annie," I said standing up.

"Well accept her invite and we'll all go together, I haven't like tons of tickets" Erick added standing up too.

"Tons of tickets!" I repeated. "You sure are a big fan of Daniel Anderson!"

"Well technically, I'm not!" Erick shook his head.

"But why did you buy so many tickets?" I asked.

"It just happened that way!" he shrugged added.

"Okay whatever you say, it's passed my bedtime and I don't want to be late for school tomorrow, so I better go sleep" I said and was about to lift Auggie up, but today he was heavier than I thought...

"I'll help you take him inside" Erick said and carried Auggie's sleeping body.

He gently placed Auggie over his shoulder and we both head inside.

I opened the door to I and Auggie's room and Erick walked in.

He gently placed his Auggie on his bed placed his blanket over his body.

His sudden ringing phone startled me and he gave me an apologetic look before answering the call, with his expensive looking phone.

"What?" he spat rudely into the phone

"Why do you ask?" he said bitterly.

"I'll come when I want to goodnight" He added lastly before hanging.

I was looking at him curiously but when he turned to me,

I looked away. I don't want him to get the idea of me being curious even though it was clear that I was a bit curious.

"That was my dad" He sighed at me.

"Oh... okay" I said, I was completely speechless.

We both were.

Erick nodded to himself and looked around my plain old empty room.

"Wow" he said.

"what?" I asked.

"your room looks.... Nice" he said, It was a lie because he hesitated before saving 'nice.'

"It's not! Stop trying to sound nice." I gave a light shrug.

"I'm just saying!" He smiled.

"It used to be a lot better though! But then we went through a lot growing up, Auggie and I. I don't even feel any sympathy for myself, I just feel all there is for Auggie, he didn't even get to see our mom before she died, because she died after giving birth to him and then my father got into a tragic accident." I explained not realising how gloomy I had set the mood.

"Sorry, I didn't know about that!" Erick apologized.

"I don't get why you're apologizing though, it's okay!" I smiled.

"Oh... Okay!" Erick breathed out softly.

"And sometimes Auggie just gets me confused calling me mom sometimes, especially when he's sleeping walking and if he does next time, don't be alarmed." I said and Erick let's out a laugh.

"Anyways, I have to go to bed now, I have school!" I said walking up to my bed.

"That means I'll be taking my leave then!" Erick stated.

"Yeah, good night!" I said softly.

"Good night!" He replied walking out of my room.

I switched off the lights before getting on my bed

I sighed and pulled the blanket up my body.

Having a conversation with Erick wasn't that bad at all.

I can't believe I was being that childish.

I closed my eyes pretending to be asleep to fall asleep and I fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up by seven in the morning and I got down tiredly from the bed. Another day for school, thank God this is my final year and semester in high school just a month and two weeks to go and I'll be done.

Auggie and I prepared for school and we ate breakfast together, just the two of us. My grandma was still asleep and I think Erick left the house that morning, leaving Ella to wander around.

I got to my class and dropped my bag before sitting down.

"hey Annie" I greeted but she looked away angrily.

"Okay... I don't know what side of bed you woke up, but it doesn't feel nice" I said before looking away too.

"I'm not talking to you until you agree to go to Daniel's concert with me" she said and I almost laughed.

"if that's the trick you're going to use on me then don't, and besides I've changed my mind, I am going" I blurted and she turned swiftly.

"Really?" her eyes almost popped out of her face.

"Yeah! why not" I smiled.

"What actually made you change your mind? Did you watch Daniel's video and did you happen to fall in love with him?" Annie beamed.

"Nope, I just changed my mind" I shrugged.

"Really? You just woke up one morning and changed your mind, I'm afraid I know you too well, June Peterson" Annie stated frantically, causing me to laugh so hard.

"Well there's this guy!" I started and her eyebrows arched and I knew immediately what she was on to.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Annie questioned.

I rolled my eyes "I said there's this guy and that doesn't make him my boyfriend, if he was my boyfriend I would have started the sentence with 'My boyfriend' so he's just a guy" I almost yelled.

"Well then who's this "guy" to you that suddenly got into our conversation" Annie crossed her hands over her chest.

"He's just a neighbor and he talked me into going to Daniel's concert and....

"And now you want to go cause a boy talked you into going when I clearly begged you to come with me" Annie almost yelled cutting me off and batting her eyelashes.

"Don't say it like that and don't look at me like that or else I'll change my mind" I said and she quickly smiled.

"We'll talk about this, boy later."

School was so boring that day that I couldn't be more relieved immediately it was over. And before time could even take a leap, Auggie and I were already on our way home.

We got to our rooftop house and walked in the living room.

Erick was playing with Ella, who happily wagged her tail and ran to my feet as soon Auggie and I walked in and Erick stood up with a smile.

"You're back, how was school?" he asked.

"boring" I rolled my eyes and he lets out chuckle.

Auggie and I walked to the door of our room and as I opened it, Auggie walked in before me.

And stepping my leg into our room my jaw dropped...

I almost turned back cause I was sure it wasn't my room.

The fading Yellow paint on wall had been replaced with a brighter yellow and so were the beds in the room.

The empty cold floor had been covered up with a purple rug. Our old wardrobe had been replaced with a bigger blue one and I almost cried of how the room looked.

"surprise!!!" Erick yelled behind us and Auggie Turned to him immediately

"Did you do this?" Auggie asked happily.

"Yep! do you like it?" he asked.

"Yes. I love it" Auggie said giving Erick a high five, which Erick offered.

"I know you would but let's hear it from the final judge" Erick said and turned to me.

"so what do you think?" he asked with a smile.

"why did you do it?" I asked and turned my gaze to him and his smile faded.

"you don't like it?".

"I'm not talking about that, why did you do it?" I almost yelled.

"Well, I got permission from your grandma, she said I could do it, I just wanted to make you both happy." Erick's voice was low.

"Is it because of yesterday, did you do it out of pity? You decided to waste money on this boring old room just because I told you about my parent's death, did you spend your night sympathizing ov--

"Please June" Erick interrupted

"It's not that, I didn't do it out of pity, I wanted you and Auggie to live the way you deserve cause you're such nice people and you all deserve good things, and it's not called wasting money it's called using money wisely without regret" he explained and I rolled my eyes.

"Well it's the same thing, you pity us and so you had to do that" I stated.

"well I'm sorry if you think I did it out of pity which I didn't. But still I'm sorry" he apologized and I turned my gaze elsewhere with a sigh.

"well I actually did it for Augie" he said and I turned back to him.

"Oh really? Then why is my bed replaced. These kind of things are what get me embarrassed Erick! It makes me feel at the bottom. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying you should have known better. I did explain myself to you!" I sighed raking my fingers in my hair.

"I guess I didn't at attention then, I am sorry" He stated looking away.

"well it's kind of nice" I sighed. "I do appreciate it, but please ask for my permission first!" I said, happy over the fact that I'm calm.

"of course" he breathed out.

"well it's all I can do cause you guys have been so nice to me and... That's all" he said and I gave a small smile.
