Chapter 5 Conflicting Confirmation

"You?! You're a Dragon Lover?!" Arkadiuz gasped, releasing Mylene from his grip, much to the girl's relief, as she covered her breast and gasped for air.

After a few coughs and pants, the girl finally cleared her throat to speak. "Yes, of course I am," she wheezed. "What? My birthmark is not enough proof for you?"

For a self-proclaimed 'Dragon Lover', the tone she used was more than suspicious to Arkadiuz. "Of course not! How do I know if it's not some scar shaped as it or a fake made by magic?" he questioned, for he recalled Dragon Lovers love and respect dragons. And yet, here was one doing neither of those towards him. Human he may appear, he was still a dragon all the same. The only reason he could think of for her actions would be that this girl was nothing more than a spy sent by him, the man who stole the dragons' treasure and began the enslavement of dragons. "If that mark truly is real, I need more than just a simple look! Now let me feel it!"

His demand made Mylene blush. Dragon or not, he was a male, and she a female. No matter what the reason, there was no way she was going to reveal her bare body to him any longer than she needed to.

"I said now, human!" Arkadiuz, unwilling to be any more patient with her, if any at all, ripped her arm away from her chest and groped her.

Mylene gasped and blushed darker, feeling all the more tempted to give this human-form dragon a good slap to the face. However, as this was a dragon she was dealing with and not some human pervert, as a Dragon Lover, she had swallowed her female pride and let the guy massage her breast, holding back some moans as he did. While Arkadiuz may be a dragon in the form of a human with dragon scales, his hands were still quite like any human's, and that embarrassed her in more ways than one, as she felt his fingers run across her birthmark.

"Hmm... I guess it really isn't a scar. And I don't sense any magic coming off from it," he said. "But this could still be drawn."

Next Mylene knew, the dragon licked her chest... resulting in a heavier blush, a shriek, and a harsh slap to his face. Harsh enough for the slap to echo in the woods, and knock the not-human down to the ground some distance away from the girl with a handprint mark on his face.

"Dragon or no dragon, groping a girl is one thing, but keep that mouth to your damn self, you pervert!" she shouted, covering her breast once more in embarrassment.

"Ouch... You actually slapped me... I have never heard of a Dragon Lover slapping a dragon before..." Arkadiuz attempted to argue.

"I am very much so sure it is because no dragon has ever tried to sexually harass a Dragon Lover! In what universe do you think it is okay for a female to be humiliated to that extent?! In any case, now you have your proof! I am a bonafide Dragon Lover, not someone pretending to be one for any reason! Especially-" The hunter stopped there, upon recalling what happened to her village after the war. A saddened expression formed on her face as she remembered the flames burning her home, the blood being spilled from innocent people, and the many screams of pain and fear, as vile men mercilessly swung their swords and murdered many. "... Especially not since the end of the Great War..."

Although Arkadiuz still had his doubt about Mylene being a Dragon Lover, despite the one clear proof of her lineage, from the tone she used, at the very least, he could tell she was not a bad girl. And that, like him, the war had a negative effect on her. From that, at the very least, he could respect her as someone who had survived such horrid time.

Clearing his throat, he rubbed his face, easing the pain behind the monstrous slap. "I suppose it was disgraceful for someone like me to act in that way..." he said. "So, Dragon Lover, what is your name?"

Though a bit ticked that the guy did not apologize for the mistreatment, Mylene put her chest guard back on and answered, "My name is Mylene. And as much as I would love to ask you for your name, after what happened, I would like to refrain from knowing the name of the man who assaulted me."

"'Assaulted you'?! I'm the one who got assaulted here!" Arkadiuz exclaimed.

"As you should be! Not only did you steal those horned rabbits from me, you went and ate them all up! I wanted to save those meat to make rations! More so, you ate the ones I did not dismantle! Fur and all! While their fur don't go for much on the market, do you have any idea the struggle it took me to hunt those things?!" Mylene questioned, slightly frightening the dragon. "And more than that... I will forgive you for looking at my breast, as my birthmark on there is the only way to prove to you of my lineage. HOWEVER! You groped me, fondled me, and even licked me! Do you have any idea how humiliating that normally is for any girl?! I don't care if you are a dragon and I a Dragon Lover, it is common sense that no guy should ever do that to a girl! The only ones who would ever do that is one of two things; a lover or a pervert! We are not lovers, but you, sir, are a definite perv for doing that!"

Arkadiuz, as a dragon, did not know a thing about human common sense. Heck, during all this time of hiding, he had made very little contact with humans to understand what is considered as 'normal' to them, aside from how rare magic was. On another note... he did know when he was getting insulted. "Excuse me! Who the hell are you calling a 'perv', you damn human?! I am the proud dragon, Arkadiuz! And I refuse to have you speak to me in this way!"

"I don't care if you are a king or some god! Even the weakest dragon amongst you would know to show common courtesy towards a female! I may not know what sort of dragon you are, but it is disrespectful to ever do that to a lady! Surely, they at least taught you that before the war!"

Arkadiuz suddenly widened his eyes and unleashed a lightning blast at Mylene. The female hunter widened her eyes as the blast grew close... only for it to pass her and hit something else. Something that let out a roar in pain. She looked behind her, and saw a Breaker Bear there. The bear was slightly charred, and it collapsed to the ground.

"Looks like we've attracted quite the attention around us," the dragon said, looking to his surroundings.

Mylene looked as well, and saw that there were plenty more Breaker Bears around them, as well as several Alpha Wolves. And as Arkadiuz said, they must have been attracted by the commotion the two were making during the accident.

"You said the rabbit fur don't cost much, right? How much for these guys then?" Arkadiuz then asked.

"Huh? Depending on the condition, they cost twice to four times the market price of Horned Rabbit fur. And their fangs and claws also sell well in the markets. Why?" Mylene asked.

"Get down." At those words, he started charging up some more electricity. Mylene had a horrible feeling about what he was going to do and immediately hit the deck. Not long after she did that, Arkadiuz unleashed a massive amount of lightning from his body, striking all the bears and wolves around them. Once the light show was over, Mylene was baffled to see all the predators around them down and charred.

"You better get to that dismantling thing," Arkadiuz said, tossing her a bear. "I'm starving after that."

It may be because she had not seen a true dragon since the end of the war. It may be because she was a bit young to remember exactly how great dragons were. And it may be because dragons these days were usually helpless slaves. But seeing this display, Mylene was reminded of how great they truly are, even in their weakened state.

'... I best be a little more careful on how to address him...' she decided.
