Chapter 3 Welcome to Alhezia

"Alyssa," A voice called my name softly out of nowhere, I strained my eyes in the dark trying to look for who called my name, maybe if I can see a figure but all I see is nothing but darkness.

"Oh great one." it came again, there was respect in his tone like he is giving eulogy to a highly person.

"Come take your place." the voice said.

"Take it now," the voice came out sharp and bold. " It is time." That was the last time I heard before I woke up.

I sit up breathing heavily, and started fiddling with my bracelet to calm my nerves. I glance at the clock, it just 12:05, I really do need to stop watching horror movies. Thank God this one is not as terrifying as the other ones.

I get down from the bed walking to my closet, I took a sleeping bag with a pillow and went to the veranda since its raining, I don't know why I find pleasure in watching the storm, the flowers bloom, and the trees wither away and grow, also burn when being strike by thunder, it gives me unimaginable happiness, weird right. Well you can't blame me I'm weird.

During cold season I don't feel cold like I'm immune to the weather even during hot season, it is like I am abnormal, so weird. Not quite long the rain stopped. The moon was now visible. Looking at it felt like we were smiling to each other.

I shake my head with a smile, then tuck myself in the sleeping bag still staring at the moon till I fall asleep. I slept without having any other dreams, it was calm and peaceful.

The sun shone brightly on my face and I woke up due to the sun rays reflecting on my face. I stood up, pack the sleeping bag and went to my room. I unclad myself and covered my body with towel then entered the bathroom. After bathing, I apply my body cream, I put on sweat pants and a baggy hoodie then I curled my hair and pack it in pony tail. I took my luggage downstairs to the car since I am going today.

I did a happy dance before going downstairs to have my breakfast, mom and dad were already having their breakfast when I got there.

"Good morning mom and dad." I greet them, pecking their cheeks before sitting.

I pull out the chair that was near mom and sat down.

"Morning dear, how was your night? " Mum asks with a smile.

" It was fine mum." I reply, dishing out pancakes on the plant infront of me.

" I can see someone is happy today." My father teases wiggling his eyebrows.

" I'm going to your town for the first time, so I'm happy." I tell him smiling.

"Is that only your reason you are happy?"

"No, Pappie that's not the reason, I am excited to see grand pops and Nana ( that's what I call my grandparent) but maybe I am very excited to go to your town." Immediately I said that my mum's mood change, don't know why.

"Why can you not stay ? You can video chat them instead of going to see them." Mom suggested, trying to convince me.

I rolled my eyes."Mum, I know you will miss me, that's the way I miss Nana and grand pops, I want to spend time with them also."

"Baby, they could come here." She said.

"No mother, nobody is coming here, I am going there and there is nothing you can say or do to convince me of not going." I retort , feeling angry that she is trying to stop me from going.

She better not try to convince dad unless she won't like the other side of me she despises.

"I am not trying to..."

"You are not trying to but you are doing it, let's end the discussion here, I will be waiting in the car." I cut her off rudely, I stood up walking out of the house taking my plate filled with pancakes.

Hey you don't expect me to leave it just because I'm angry, I don't joke with my stomach.

I don't even know where that boldness came from to tell my mom off.

During the journey, nobody talked to each other after what happened at home. The atmosphere was tensed between I and my parents, well I appreciate the silence because I did not even know what to say to them. Up till now I don't know where the boldness came from to reply my mum back, I have never talked back at her, I am the type that does what my mum says. I put on my headphone out of boredom, then shut my eye.

It felt as if someone was hitting me, go awaaay you agent of disturbance, go awaaaaaayyyy.

That stopped but then came another. It began to rain and it felt really weird.

I don't understand why weird things were happening so suddenly. The world began to shake, after the rain there came an earthquake. I said a silent prayer for safety.

I heard soft murmurs, the voice sounded familiar but I could not point out whose voice it was.

" She is not waking up, no matter what I do, I hit her and even sprinkled water on her, she still did not wake up. I don't know what to do." The person sounded worried, listening to the tone you could feel the panic in her voice. It sounds feminine.

After all that, the person did not wake up, the person must be a deep sleeper.

"Do you think she is in a trance?." a different voice spoke this time, it sounded manly.

" I don't think so, I don't know if she is." The voice I heard earlier replied,. " If she is, we need to wake her up."

" I think I have an idea on how to wake her up but you are not going to like it."

" What is it ?"

" One of my tricks."

"Which one?"

"Thunder slap."

"What ?! Do you want to kill her ?!" The person screeched.

"It may or may not kill her. We can never know if we don't try it." The manly voice said like as if he is convincing the other person.

" I don't even want to know, I am not taking that risk, is there not less dangerous trick that you can do?"

"I assure nothing bad will happen to her even though I am not 100% sure but still nothing will happen to her and there are not other options, my other tricks are far more dangerous than this one and maybe it won't hurt her for the fact that she is my blood."

"I am not sure about this, its our daughter's life we are talking about, don't you remember the last time you used it, you put the person in a coma, coma, commmaaaaa!!!. So what do you think will happen if you use it on her Huh ? "

"Okay, I get your point, you don't need to emphasize on it. But that time I was angry, trust me when I say nothing will happen to her or don't you trust me?"

"I do trust you, is just that.......

He cut her off "Then let me do my stuff, okay ? "

"Okay."

The person was mumbling incoherent words that I could not comprehend.

I was thinking about the person sleeping until something cut it off, I meant someone.

It felt as if I was being struck to death, like billions volt of electricity entered me. I saw death waving at me, I didn't know my eyes were closed until i opened them.

"Am I in heaven?, I looked round. I saw cars trees birds...... Are there cars in heaven too, wow heaven is modernized." I said.

"Thank God you are awake, I thought you were going to sleep forever." The person chuckled.

What is making this person laugh ? i thought to myself. I was slapped by thunder, I swear it hurts.

I turned my head towards the direction of the voice, then it dawn on me that the voices I heard were my parent's, no wonder it sounded familiar.

"I am still alive." I sigh in relief.

"So I was the one sleeping ? I'm the rock, I should have woken up when I heard their voice." I screamed in my head.

"Darl, you see it works." My dad said feeling so proud of himself.

My mum rolled her eyes at him.

"That slap hurt." I whined in my head.

"Dad, is there f**king electricity in your hands ? It felt like was being struck by thunder, billions volt of electricity is in my body. Mum why do you even trust him?, I'm going home already, the gate of heaven is coming closer." I said faking a snob.

My dad chuckled.

I was moved to glare at him but I was afraid of receiving another slap.

"It is not that painful." My dad said with an eye roll.

"Yes dad. It is not that painful." I said sarcastically.

"Darl, you see I told she won't be hurt, she confirmed it herself." He said looking at my mum.

"Dad, don't you understand when someone is being sarcastic, what I said is an irony, iiiiiiiiroooooony. The slap hurts." I whined as I rubbed my face.

"For a moment, I thought I lost my touch but I still have it." my dad said as he high fives himself.

My mum glared at him.

" I meant sorry, here take some ice pack to reduce the pain." He said as he took a block of ice from the cooler and wrap it with a nylon since there was none, he improvised.

My mum collected it from him glaring at him. She took it from him and place it on the spot that hurts then she moved it circularly.

"Sorry dear, let me help you with the ice pack on your face, it will reduce the pain." She said as she placed it on my face.

"We are sorry, we woke you up like this. It is just that we try waking you up normally but you did not respond so your dad suggested that he should try waking you up which he did." She said.

" I can't blame her. I'm not normal at all, I'm a rock." I said in my head

"Well on the bright side, it did work." My dad said earning an knock from my mum.

" That hurts." Dad whined rubbing the place on his head she hit.

Mum turned to me.

"Hope the pain has subsidized?"

Even though, it is still hurting. I couldn't say so because it would make my mom feel more guilt.

" No mum, it's no more painful"

"That's nice" she smiled, I took my time to look round the environment then I saw a big gate, something was written on it. ' Welcome to Alhezia town'

"Wait , are we there already ? " I asked no one in particular.

As if my dad read my thought, "we are already there, that's why we woke you up so you can see the entrance "

"Oh, okay." the gate was huge and really pretty, I wondered how the environment would look like. We entered the car and drove in. I turned back to see the gate one last time.

"Welcome to Alhezia."
