Chapter 2 Mood Swings

Third Person's POV

"Alpha! We have finally found the location of that Rogue and the Vampire's group which we had been searching for for a long time. They are staying near Pacific East human's town. So, we have to move there as soon as possible to catch them.", Eric informed his Alpha.

"I know and I have already arranged everything. We will be staying between humans to catch those Leeches."

.

"But Zayden...How can we stay with humans? They are....", Eric stopped speaking when he saw Zayden narrowing his eyes toward him.

.

"We have nothing to do with humans. Just because we are werewolves doesn't mean we should think humans are below us. Humans are different from us but there is nothing wrong with being different, Eric. So never, I repeat NEVER bring this topic again in front of me.", Zayden replied coldly because he had to explain this basic thing to his Beta. If Eric was not being his Beta, he wouldn't have wasted his time in explaining his thoughts. Apart from him and his own sister, he didn't give much importance to anyone because no one cared about him except these two.

His childhood was filled with abuse and hardship. As he was an omega and everyone made his life miserable. They abused them and tortured him in the best possible way. Not only this, he even got rejected by his mate. He vowed to take revenge on everyone who did this to him. So, he entered the Mafia's world. He worked hard, very hard which made him who he was now, i.e one of the strongest personalities in the entire estate and fearful Alpha of the same pack, in which those pack members treated him badly.

Because of his horrible past, he got addicted to what he desired and he could go to any extent to get what he wanted. He always used to stay cold and serious. Only two things were his target in his life, first, power, so that no one could treat him the way they treated him, and second was his enemies, who made him an Orphan. His hunger and his search for his enemies was something that never let him think about anything else- not even a second chance mate.

He never cared about finding Mate because that was never his priority. The only women in his life were his sister and his mother. He had no experience with other women because he didn't know how to treat them because as far as he could remember, his father used to abuse his mother. And Zayden definitely didn't want to become like one.

His sister, Allison wanted him to have a normal life but Zayden never listened to her on this matter. She believed that only love could bring her brother back from the place where he was right now.

"By the way, who all are in the family of that rogue?", Zayden asked rudely. Eric understood that Zayden was back in his pissed mood. Well, it was nothing so strange. He had been like this for years i.e. his mood used to be pissed in 99% of cases. Well, you cannot blame him alone for his mood because two years back, one of the rogues had stolen $60000 by fooling Allison, his sister. It was pennies really to him since he was a billionaire but still, the fact that some moron had guts to fool his sister was something that he could not handle and he wouldn't let him go unpunished.

"The file will be in your hand within 10-15 minutes, Alpha.", Eric answered in a low tone. He used to address Zayden as per his mood. After all, he was well aware that Zayden hated anybody below his rank by his name. His wolf used to consider it a challenge. Eric used to call him, Alpha, when Zayden used to be around the werewolves, SIR, in front of the human and 'Zayden' when he was in a friendly mood.

"Sounds perfect!"

After 10-15 Minutes,

Their car halted for a moment because as per Eric, one of their informers was going to hand over the file containing the details of the rogue which Zayden wanted. Since the informer seemed a bit late, Zayden looked out of the window, getting annoyed with the thought that he had to wait for someone else. And then, his eyes landed on a woman feeding the dogs and patting their head lovingly. Soon, she started playing with them and he could tell that those dogs love her.

He had never seen any woman playing with street dogs. Most of the women he had seen were afraid of dogs, even his sister used to fear dogs till the moment her wolf appeared but here he saw this woman, playing as if they were her own pups. He didn't miss the smile which she had on her lips all the time when she was with those dogs.

And for the first time, he felt his wolf's presence without any reason. For a moment, he felt that his wolf might claim her as his mate but nothing like that happened. His wolf soon disappeared after a while.

"Let's go, driver.", Eric ordered but Zayden showed his hand without saying anything. Eric looked at Zayden who had a smile on his face and was shocked to see a miracle. He followed Zayden's gaze and saw a woman, well this was the second MIRACLE of his life. He had never seen Zayden smiling. As far as he could remember Zayden was called an emotionless person. "Are you feeling hungry, Zayden?", He asked, even though he knew that Zayden was not looking at the restaurant but the woman standing near it.

"No! Just wait for a while.", A reply escaped Zayden's mouth before he could have any control over it. For the first time his mind was not working properly, all he was wishing that woman to turn toward him just for once.

Out of nowhere, those dogs started barking toward their cars. Generally, dogs were afraid of werewolves but barking at werewolves meant challenging for the battle. Eric observed how Zayden's expression started getting changed.

"Please don't mind them, Zayden. They are being protective of the woman, that's it. Even though those dogs know that you can easily kill them but out of their nature, he will try to protect the loved ones even if it costs their life.", Eric explained but he knew that Zayden was not going to listen to him at any cost.

Zayden was about to open the door of the car when the woman turned around. His breath hitched the moment he observed her beautiful and innocent face. The way her hair flipped because of the wind, forced him to think about touching her long hair. He was feeling aroused for the first time, that too for that woman who did nothing to him. This was one thing that had never happened with him before.

She kept staring at him through the tinted window, which was obvious that she couldn't see him, but he could see her. He didn't know a thing about mate and mate bond but by just looking at this woman, his heart skipped a beat. But his happiness didn't remain for long when she walked inside the restaurant. He was back in his angry mood and signaled the driver to move.

Eric kept quiet during the rest of the ride but he couldn't ignore the fact that Zayden's mood swings were normal when that woman was around him.

'Is that possible....', He quickly shook his head at that thought but still, his curiosity was forcing him to clear his doubt as soon as possible.
