Chapter 5 You can call me Dante

The others didn't move an inch, they had no expression other than the wide eyed stare they each had locked on the man still holding onto Mj by the seat of her pants. "Please!" Mj began to plead quietly. She had stopped struggling in an act of defeat and at this point had all but fallen to her knees. Lou still wasn't moving and Mj still wasn't sure who all of these men were.

"Why was she struggling so hard to get away?" He thought, "And why was she so concerned about the old paper pusher? That old snake had been hiding her for the moon only knows how long, well she was his now and he would challenge the weak old wolf if he had to." She

had stopped struggling, she was dangling from her pants almost on her knees, making a sound he was unfamiliar with,"why was that sound making him so sad?" he thought.

"Please," Mj continued again. She wasn't sure why but she was crying at this point. There were a lot of strange things happening right now and she was scared, she wanted Lou to wake up and explain it to her. She wanted him to tell her what the hell was going on, why this man still here? And where did the others come from?

Deciding to adjust his hold on her to see why she was crying, he sighed with guilt, "maybe he hurt her and hadn't realized it?" He grabbed one of her arms and turned her to face him, then grabbed her other arm and pulled her upright.

Mj looked up at him and his heart sank, she looked both terrified and maybe even a little angry. "Let go of me, please," she squeaked like a tiny mouse and he suddenly realized in horror that perhaps she really had absolutely no idea what he was. Or even what Lou was. "She seemed confused and her concern for Lou's well being seemed to be that of a daughter to her father rather than that of a mate."He thought and seemed to realize a little too late, so he released her arms and she crumpled to the floor like a paper doll. He walked away from her and toward the old wolf still unconscious on the ground. leaning over the old man he heard the small girl behind him start to yell.

To Mj's horror he had let her go and walked away toward Lou. She gathered herself off the ground and started walking toward him. "Like hell was this strange man gonna take advantage of Lou if she could help it." she thought. Lou would help out anyone in need, but he was no pushover. He had taught Mj a fair amount of self defense in the last 3 years.

Mj had just started working for Lou when she walked in one day sporting a shiny new black eye she had gotten from a guy at the bar the night before. She was bar-tending and there was a woman who had been sitting at the bar for a while, having a few drinks when a man approached her and starting talking to her. This woman was clearly not interested and tried to tell him so several times but the more she said no the more he tried.

Mj tried not to stick her nose in other people's business. Her philosophy was "if you were gonna come to a bar you better be prepared for the onslaught of stupid headed your way." But this guy was getting dangerous, he started grabbing this woman's arm and pulling her off the stool.

Mj wiped her hands on a towel and stepped out from behind the bar, approaching the pair.

She made it clear that he needed to step off the young lady and be on his way or he would need to drink elsewhere.

While she was speaking Mj managed to put herself between them and the girl had grabbed her things darting out the door while Mj had her drunk bully occupied as she flagged down a cab, leaving as quickly as possible.

The drunk pig in front of her was now babbling about how Mj had "cost him a good piece of ass and needed to replace it, but if she was lucky maybe he would let her ass be the replacement." She laughed and pushed past him to resume her work behind the bar, but this crazy mother fucker just exploded smashing her in the head with his sloppy drunk meat hook of a left hook.

Before she could recover and protect herself he had fallen forward, hitting his head on the bar-top and was now passed out on the floor. Mj had explained the entire situation to Lou when she got to work, as her eye had swelled and turned quite an interesting shade of blue purple and seeing as she owned no makeup to cover it up, it was quite noticeable. Lou told her that if she was gonna work for him she was gonna learn to really defend herself, none of that "street bullshit" as he put it.

Mj snapped herself back to the present and launched her body in the stranger's direction, two of the four goons that had been just standing around reached out and grabbed her by the arms. "What was with people and grabbing her today." Mj wondered

"Let go and fight me one on one like real men you mother fuckers" she screeched kicking and struggled but they were countering every advance she made to break free. As she fought, Mj noticed they danced around her almost as if they were able to guess what the other was going to do and were working together to make sure she stayed subdued.

"Not a good idea doll" one of them grunted at her as he kept Mj from lurching toward Lou and the man lurking toward him. "Fuck off, let go," Mj grunted and twisted her body until she saw Lou start to move.

"Lou look out!" she yelled, still trying to break free from the men holding her. Lou grabbed his head and looked up toward the man standing above him and chuckled, "relax MJ they are here for an order, they would have been gone by now, but someone decided not to be to work on time so they had to wait for you to get back" Lou was now sitting upright but had not stood from the ground yet he was still looking at the man standing above him. They seemed to look at each other for a long time. Almost as if they were having a conversation without saying anything.

Mj was still struggling against her captures grasp when she heard Lou speak.

She was confused and horrified at the same time. "Lou knew these guys?, or at least had sold them a fair amount of meat, and she had headbutted one of them this morning, insulted him without knowing it and thrown him like a sack of potatoes on top of making them wait almost 2 hours for the meat they had no doubt pre ordered and expected to be ready and waiting. Lou would fire her for sure" she thought. "And what was Beth gonna say.

Boy you really screwed it up for yourself this time Molls" she thought. Mj stopped struggling as she wasn't really getting anything except bruises on her arms at this point, and it wasn't like Lou was in any real danger anyway.

"Mj why don't you go and start cleaning the front windows while I help these gentlemen with their order." Lou was still on the ground but was now at least looking at her. "Lou I didn't mean to screw everything up. I'm really sorry it's just that this-" before she could finish she heard Lou bark "MJ!" he cut her off. He looked really angry and a little scared. He gritted his teeth and spoke to her in a low voice she knew meant she needed to just go and do what he said "Please Mj just go and wash the front windows while I deal with things here ok?" She opened her mouth to speak but decided not to.

It was him again, the tall Greek god was speaking again. And for whatever reason he seemed to have some kind of power over Lou. "please boys, let's take our hands off this delicious little kitten and let her get to her work" and just like that they released her as if he were really god.//
