Chapter 4 THE PARTY

Jeremy's POV:

I arrived at the party looking as handsome as always. Well, I still speak up for myself or whatsoever.

I walked towards the bar instead and sat down watching people dance and cheer.

"Hey Jeremy!" I heard a familiar voice and turned around only to see Peter working.

He is the one behind the bar?

Since when does he works?

"Peter, what are you doing here?'

"I work here."

"Like work here?" I snorted with a chuckle.

"Yeah,"

"Why? That's new,"

"Where is Keira?"

"She would soon be here,"

"Really? I need to speak with her,"

"What do you wanna discuss with her?"

"Something personal."

"Yeah," I scoffed and turned around.

I guy turned up the stage and the crowdy ovation, and suddenly they started shouting. Like..I almost turned deaf ears thanks to my lost of focus.

I ain't interested in their madness.

A girl came came up to the bar looking all rich and influential. But theirs no rich person in the community.

She smiled at me and came closer.

"Red wine," she ordered and then looked at me.

I just don't seem to recognize her anywhere.

"Hey,"

"Hey," I mouthed softly and she smiled.

"Not in the mood?"

"Yeah,"

"Well I am Chelsea,"

"Nice meeting you, there's your red wine," I said to her and she smiled while realizing there's really a bottle of wine placed right in front of her.

"Thanks,"

"You are welcome."

"Can I know your name?"

"I am Jeremy," .

"Wow nice name, nice meeting you Jeremy,"

"Umm .... yeah sure."

"Yeah, you aren't really interested in this party." She said and I turned my face away.

Another girl came by and also sat beside me

"Hey Jeremy, give a space for more customers," Peter said an I frowned.

"I am also a customer."

"But you ain't buying anythin'. You are just here sitting uninterested in the beautiful performance on the stage,"

"Yeah," i mouthed and the girl beside me smiled at me

Evie or whatever her name is.

I ignored her and focused my eyes on the exit only to see a lot of people coming in. This is so frustrating, where the hell is Keira.

"Who are you looking for?" I heard Keira's voice and turned around to see the most beautiful girl standing right before me.

I looked at her from her heels to her solemn makeup. What the hell....

She smiled and I just stared at her.

"What are you wearing? When do you start putting on make-up and when do you start wearing high heels? You might fall off the stairs."

I said and she frowned at me.

"I just felt like it okay,"

She shifted the girl beside me and sat down there.

"Now Jeremy, do I look attractive,"

"For whom it may concern, who are you trying to attract?"

"Nobody and that's not the question I am asking you,"

"I don't know how you look like. You look silly Tonight,"

"Silly? I look pretty," she said with a scoff and I chuckled.

"Hey Keira...WHOA!!! What's with the outfit? Who are you trying to impress?'

"No body,"

Keira's POV:

*Flashback*

"Keira!!" I heard Silas voice and ran to meet him.

"Can you go get me some drugs from the nearest store?"

"Drugs?"

"Yeah,"

"Hey Keira," I heard Silas older children calling from behind.

I ignored them and they called again.

"What?!!!" I grunted at them.

"Cool down, hotty, we were just greeting you,"

"Oh, keep your damn greetings to yourselves,"

They laughed except their father who was busy doing his stuff.

"I wonder who would marry you,"

"You are just so aggressive and unattractive," the girl amongst them said and Gosh, I felt like punching her right that instant.

"I am more attractive than all your siblings Kara,"

"Well then cat eyes, go get a boyfriend for yourself and stop dating your brother,"

"My brother?"

"Yeah, ain't you always clingy to the poor guy, who needs fresh air from the tomboy called his sister,"

I scoffed and walked away. Gosh, I was forced to say what I wasn't supposed to say.

*Presently*

"Common Jeremy, let's go dance,"

"Dance?"

"Yeah, let's party,"

'' hey Keira, I need to talk to you,"

"I ain't interested in your words."

"I am not dancing Keira,"

"Party pooper." I mouthed and walked towards the crowds.

Jeremy's POV:

I tried to take my eyes off her but damn I can't.

What the heck is she doing dancing like a prostitute.

Who is she really trying to impress?

"Hey," that girl named Chelsea called. "Is she your girlfriend?"

"No she isn't, she is my sister,"

"Wow, I thought she was your girlfriend, I was slightly jealous,"

"Why should you feel jealous?" I asked with a scoff.

I then looked away and then stared at Keira. What the heck is she doing? I saw a guy touching her all over her body and damn!! She didn't move his hand away.

Is he romancing her or what? And why do I even care, she's my sister, not my girlfriend.

"Hey jemy, are you jealous of the guy romancing your sister?"

"Romance?"

"No I am not jealous, why should I be jealous? She is free to do her stuff herself, she is an adult, not a kid,"

I really don't feel good saying that....

"He was so handsome and sweet. Jeremy, you should have seen his face..."

"Yeah, yeah, I should have..."

"He is really handsome, handsome and sweet, he even gave me his number,"

"Yayyy... that's wonderful," I teased.

She has been blabbing about that man that was romancing her at the party for the past two hours and it's bugging me already.

"Hey Jeremy, how was the party?" Ma asked and I sat down on the couch.

"She has been talking about a guy she saw at the party,"

"Guy?"

"Yeah, some guy," I scoffed.

"Mom, you should have seen him, he..."

"I am going to bed..." I cut her off "save the story for tomorrow,"

I stood up and she dragged my hair. She made me sit down and then sat on my laps.

"You people will have to listen to my story and Jeremy, you ain't going anywhere,"

"Get off first,"

"No I won't,"

I held her arm and made her sit on the couch roughly. I don't know what's happening to me this days.

"His name is Ten...."

"Argggggggg!!!" I groaned.

"His name is Tentay."

"So?"

"He is from the community and also an heir, the heir to the Desmond's. He is sweet, handsome and the most important thing is, he likes me,"

"Oh geez,"

"He likes me and I liked him, we are gonna be a couple soon,"

"Okay bye,"

"Jeremy?" Ma called and I groaned.

"What?!"

I sat down and folded my arms angrily. Gosh, I am so upset.

"Jeremy, Keira, I think it's high time for you to should get your rooms separated,"

"Uh?" We both chorused.

"But why?"

"Keira, Jeremy, you are both not kids anymore. Jeremy, you are twenty five, Keira you are twenty four,"

"Yeah, so?"

"Aren't you reasoning? You are both adults and you are doing your stuffs together. What if it turns into something else?"

Papi said and we both laughed.

"Papi, ma, nothing will happen. As you said, we aren't kids anymore. We are adults, we won't do anything stupid,"

"Well, farewell, I am exiting hi. I am going to take a long nap to snap out of this crazy dream of a guy named Tentay liking my sister,"

I walked away.

«the next morning»

I stretched out my bones and opened my eyes slowly.

I looked around and couldn't find Keira beside me. Where the hell is she?

I checked the bathroom, the living room, but she's no where to be found.

Where did she go early in the morning?

I stood up and wored my flip flops before heading out.

I saw ma preparing for work and papi, no where to be found as usual.

*Ma, good morning,"

"Good morning Jeremy, how was your night?"

"Good. Where is Keira?"

"Oh! She went out very early in the morning, which purpose; to her boyfriend's,"

"Wait what!!! This early??"

"Same thing I said to her, I really don't know what got into her small head, and help me give her this shades,"

"For what?"

"You know she can't see clearly in the sun and I care about my daughter,"

"Oh," I mouthed and collected it.

"I am really interested in this boyfriend stuff," I said and walked out.

I walked out and saw a with the same guy she was romancing....and what are they doing??

"Keira?" I called and she looked at me.

"Oh tentay, come. Meet my brother, Jeremy,"

"Hey Jeremy, I have heard a lot about you from Keira,"

"Yayy, I think you didn't heard JUST about me,"

He smiled and we both shook hands, geez, I don't like this guy one bit,"

She smiled at me and I smirked at at him.

"So Tentay, now that you have met my brother, you would wanna meet my mother and father." she said and I frowned at her.

"Why do I have a feeling you don't like me Jeremy?"

"Yeah I don't, I never trust any guy who come close to my stupid brainless sister, it bugs me,"

"Well, I am not that any guy,"

"Yeah, you shouldn't be," I teased and he smiled.

"Well then, you guys can enjoy your honeymoon, it's non of my business,"

"Yeah, it should be," I heard him whisper and then turned around to look at him. I don't trust him and I will never trust him.

I walked away without looking back at them. She is my sister and she's old enough to make decisions herself like I am old enough to make decisions for myself.

Keira's POV:

"Can you follow me home? I have got a surprise for you,"

"Really, how cute," I said blushing.

He smiled and held my hand. We walked away.

This isn't a mistake at all. Having him as my boyfriend is like having a Kara's dream come true of me not interested in boys.

Yes, I am totally uninterested in men except my brother.

I just want to give a guy a chance in my heart, so I choose Tentay, a guy I just saw yesterday evening.

We held hands walking like couples,
