Chapter 4 Mom !

It was her birthday, and she expected they had prepared a surprise party or something when Kevin stopped her from entering her own house but she found groups of vampire and Werewolves invading her house, her friends suddenly turned into animals and her mom was nowhere to be found and now a wolf talked to her in her mom's voice?!

"No! Get away from me!" She shouted to the animal in front of her.

She looked around and grabbed the bed lamp behind her; she was about to throw it when the wolf turned into a human, fair-skinned, slender body, purple eyes, and face undoubtedly of her mother.

"It's me." She smiled weakly as she collapsed on the ground.

"Mom!" She shouted and rushed beside her.

"I'm sorry." She heard her whisper.

"Why are you apologizing? What's going on? Who're they? What do they want from us? Please tell me this is a dream! Once I'm awake it's all going to disappear, right?" She cried, hugging her mother.

"I'm sorry, you had to see this. I'm sorry, mom failed to protect you. I'm sorry to have you scared like this. I'm sorry, I couldn't tell you sooner." She sobbed as she apologized repeatedly.

Her mouth opened and closed, she was not sure what to say. What was going on? Her mind was in a mess, she couldn't say she was okay, how can anyone be okay with animals inside her house trying to hunt her down, she wasn't even sure what to say or act in front of her own mother, but one thing she was sure of, she couldn't see her mother like that.

"Please get out of here. Go somewhere safe, just run from here." She heard her mother.

"Yes mom, we're getting out of here." She cupped her cheeks.

Just then someone entered the room, Alexa grabbed back the bed lamp, she crashed the bulb and grabbed the shard, if she was going to die she better kill one of them. She was about to stab when she heard the voice, "Alex? Are you here?"

"Tyler?" She whispered.

He quickly moved next to her, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, but mom isn't. She's injured. We need to get out of here."

He looked at her mother who was frowning; he gave her a nod.

"Don't worry. We are. The backup's here. Come, let's get out of here." He pulled both of them to their feet.

Just then a few vampires invaded the room, "Not so soon."

"They really get on my nerves." Tyler's face darkened. He stood in front of them protectively.

"You, take her away." He felt a hand on his shoulder. "I'll handle them." Gabriella glared at the Vampires.

"But-- "Tyler tried to protest but was silenced by her stare. Those were the orders of Luna, and he had no choice but to follow.

"Yes." He did a quick bow.

"What do you mean by that? I'm not leaving you behind, mom! And what yes? I'm not going anywhere!" Alexa protested.

Turning deaf to her daughter's protests, turning her back to her, she faces the vampires. "This is something I need to take care of. Tyler, take her away."

Tyler moved to her, "Don't you dare." Alexa glared at him.

"Sorry about this." He picked her up and jumped out of the window.

A car stopped in front of them, "Took you long enough." Tyler mocked Kevin.

"I picked the car and these brats" He pointed at the unconscious Conner and Murphy, "you sure took your time."

"I was picking up our queen and you know her stubbornness." He pointed at Alexa, who was struggling to free herself from his grip. "Tyler put me down! I'm not leaving my mom behind!"

She shouted.

He sighed and let her down when she was about to run inside the house, Kevin zoomed in front of her, her breath hitched, "H-how.. you..."

"Cause I'm a vampire." He smirked and pressed something on her neck, "You should have just listened to us, I wouldn't have to resort to these tactics." He picked unconscious Alexa up and got her seated beside her two human friends.

"He's going to get mad at you for treating his queen like this." Tyler had a horrified look on his face.

"Who's going to tell him?" Kevin shrugged as he got inside the driver's seat. "Get in."

"And Lia?" Tyler asked.

"She's gone to prepare to welcome her friends." He answered.

They drove off at the break of the dawn.

Alexa ran in the woods, dark surroundings obscured her vision. Her body was covered in wounds, her legs gave up on her and she fell on the ground.

"Mom!" She shouted. "Lia?" "Conner?" "Kevin?" "Tyler?" She shouted calling out her friends, but no one was there except only darkness and fear.

She heard wolves howling from afar; she curled up hugging her knees, her vision slowly adjusting to the light, and suddenly she found herself surrounded by a group of wolves. "No!" She shouted. "Go away!" She tried to get up and run, but her legs betrayed her.

She panicked as they slowly approached her. She took a breath of relief when she finally saw her mom approaching her, "Mom! Thank god you're okay!" She crawled to her and was about to hug her when she suddenly changed into an enormous wolf.

"No!" She shouted.

She woke up panting, her body was covered in sweats, "Thank god, it was just a dream!" She sighed. "A horrible nightmare."

Just then she heard the door click, "Mom!" She got up and ran to the door.

"You're awake?" Instead of her mom, she found Lia at the door. "Are you okay?" She hugged her.

When she finally became aware of her surroundings, she pushed Lia away. She hadn't been awoken from her dream; she was living it, the worst nightmare of her life. She was reminded of last night. The wolves, Vampires! The worst part was that the people she had trusted had betrayed her, her friends were one of them, even her mom was one. Wait! Does that mean I am one too? No, if that was the case she would've known, but does that mean her mom wasn't her real mother? That's insane. "That's not possible!" She shouted.

"Relax, Alex." Lia tried to comfort her, but she slapped her hands away.

"Don't touch me." She shouted.

"Okay, I'm not. Just calm down."

Just then Conner and Murphy entered the room.

"Alex!" Conner cried and ran to hug her, but Alexa stopped her midway.

"Don't you dare!" She glared.

"I'm sorry we had to hide our identity from you and I understand your anger too but Alex, they're humans. They're equally surprised as you are." Lia explained.

"I'll leave you guys alone. When you're ready to hear, call me." Lia walked out with a sad face.

"Wait! What about my mom?"

"We... We couldn't find her, we're searching...." Lia tried to approach her but stopped remembering her previous reaction, "We'll find her soon."

"Can you guys please leave? I wish to be alone... please..." Her voice trembled. The room spun around and she fell into darkness.
