Chapter 2 Theme and Introduction

We, as humans, are blessed with different types of quotients, be it intelligence or emotional capabilities.

When it comes to emotional intelligence (EQ), there exist two categories of people in general.

The first kind of people who try to conceal their emotional aspect from others. Such people detach themselves from others but unknowingly put themselves in an abyss. Without their knowing, they begin to slip deep into that abyss, from where it gets hard to make it out alive. These people refrain from trusting others very easily and like to keep their vulnerable selves hidden from others by deceiving them with the mask of their strong and indifferent façade. And thus, such people are often viewed as cold-hearted, by many.

The second kind of people are those who take pleasure in seeking and stealing enjoyment in everything they do. For them, there is only one life, so why not make it as large and memorable as possible? Living life to the fullest, enjoying every moment, and showing every emotional aspect of their side is what they relish. For them, crying and showing their vulnerability to others has never been a weakness but it makes them stronger. Such people are often regarded as warm-hearted.

Darkness and light. We often witness these two elements within us and in others. They come in all forms and shapes. They do not choose us, instead, it is we who chose them, because, beneath the darkness, there is always a light that tries so hard to be seen.

As humans, we cannot run from challenges and hardships. All of us are meant to go through an overwhelming journey, where every emotion is going to be tested and where we will be tested. There will be times when we will feel extremely helpless to the point that many of us will lose faith in ourselves. There is this beautiful light within us, however, we would want to shut it off because we will feel so trapped in our grief, pain, in suffering that we will think that it is better to shut this light off. By doing this, we will be choosing darkness. We will be letting the pain change us for the worse, even though we will be aware of the consequences. We would let this pain break our soul and then, we are going to blame it on others and the circumstances. A typical human tendency.

However, deep down, we all know that we have to power to make it out of this darkness and choose light instead. It is hard to fight your demons, hard to wash away the memories of your painful past, and surely, it is going to be extremely tough and painful to make the first move to let go of your demons. However, when we will take the first step, we will find a burden lifting off our chest. We will feel that you can finally breathe without getting suffocated. We will feel the love around us, the people who love us for us. We will have two reasons to fight our demons. First, will be our willingness to embrace the light within us and the second can be anything or anyone, for whom we want to be better, with whom we want to live our lives to the fullest, and for whom we feel this desire to reciprocate love in exchange of love. The latter is only possible when we start to love ourselves.

If one reason made us embrace this darkness and hold on to it, we can find that one reason that will make us want to let go of this darkness, and once again embrace the light that was, is, and will always be there within us. Why do we forget oftentimes, that there is only one life? The universe chose us to embark on this journey of uncertain, unexpected adventure. We have this life given to us to witness, explore and learn all the emotions but most of all to learn who we are. Being emotional is not a weakness, but is important to find that balance. If we hold on to one thing, how are we supposed to witness what is there for us?

Trust yourself, because it is the key to unlocking the door of an unlimited abundance of light. Let the universe know that you deserve the best and sky is not your limit.

The 23-year-old, Evelyn Ray, always had this perception that love without the tinge of practicality, possibility, and reality is a myth and exists only in fantasy. Well, destiny plays a crucial role in everyone's life. It can make a fool of you, without your knowing. All your beliefs and all your planning are bound to go into hell when destiny shows its presence every time.
