Chapter 3 Being Discredited

The next day, Carla woke up in pain.

Just as Henry was about to move, the door was suddenly opened from the outside.

The two of them were stunned as they looked at the door. Carla was nervous as she was afraid of being discovered by the media. Henry was confused. He had checked the door last night and he was sure it was locked. So how could it be opened from the outside? Something was wrong!

"Dad?" Carla blushed and looked at her father in astonishment.

The man who just barged in looked ghastly pale. Henry didn't say anything. Regardless whether or not Carla was embarrassed, he pulled the quilt over himself to cover his naked body.

"Carla Jian!" Peter Jian looked like he was going to faint. Carla pushed Henry away with all her strength. Unfortunately for Henry, he wasn't able to keep his balance and fell onto the floor. As Henry hogged the sheet all for himself, Carla was left with no choice but expose herself to her father.

"What are you doing? Do you want to destroy our family?" Peter Jian scolded her daughter loudly, and his eyes fell on Henry, who was sitting on the floor.

Carla was about to explain her side, but then a dazzling light came shining out of nowhere, making her instinctively cover her eyes and private parts. She couldn't see anything. She could only hear the shutters changing and the reproach of her father. Her whole world had been overturned from this moment on.

"Dad! Please let me explain! Dad!"

Peter Jian slapped Carla hard across the face. The paparazzi got more excited, as proven by the sounds of shutters increasing exponentially. Carla became conscious, anxious, fearful, and ashamed. She looked at Henry for help, but he only sneered at her and turned his head away.

It was also at this time that Carla found that Henry had already put on his clothes, so she was the only one who was naked and embarrassing herself.

"No! It's not like that..." Carla's flustered expression was noted by her father, but he didn't care. There was no explanation that was going to soothe him. Instead of protecting and covering his daughter up, he just drove the media away. After a while, the room was quiet and the atmosphere became awkward.

Carla didn't dare to look at her father's expression at all. She felt numb deep in her heart, but at the same time, she was curious as to why he was here. He should be working in the company at this time of the day.

"You ungrateful and rebellious daughter!" Once again, he slapped Carla across the face. But what she failed to notice was how her father was subconsciously glancing at Henry and carefully observing his expression.

To Peter Jian's disappointment, even from the very beginning, Henry seemed to not care about what was happening around him, which made him gnash his teeth.

"Mr. Su, I didn't expect to see you here. What a coincidence! Don't you think that this kind of behavior is unacceptable? If you like my daughter, you should have told me, and we could have something worked out." Seeing that Henry didn't respond, Peter Jian decided to take the initiative to try and engage him into a discussion.

"Get out!" Henry first glanced at Carla and then turned her attention to Peter Jian. How dare he put on such a bad play? Henry didn't want to talk to Peter Jian at all because he put a dampener on his day.

Carla bit her lips and didn't dare say anything for a long time. She was scared.

Was this man crazy? Why didn't he explain what happened between them? Yesterday, she was unconscious. If he just said it, maybe everything would be cleared up and everyone would know that it was just a misunderstanding. Even if she lost her virginity, as long as he explained how it happened, she thought that it would be enough.

"Dad, I was drunk with Emma yesterday. I was in a confused state of mind. Father, please trust me." Carla picked up the bathrobe that Henry had worn yesterday and put it on. However, she couldn't understand why her father seemed to be the one looking like he wanted to tear her up.

She covered her swollen left face with her hand and slowly walked towards him. However, Peter didn't show her any mercy. He slapped her again. Carla was stunned and didn't react for a long time.

"Mr. Su, I'm so sorry for bringing you so much trouble. It's all my fault." Seeing that Henry had already come over, Peter's expression quickly changed into something nicer. He was thinking that Henry was going to say something he liked, but he was wrong.

Unexpectedly, Henry reached out his big hand and pulled Carla into his arms. In the blink of an eye, the bathrobe that had been wrapped around her fell to the floor. She looked at Henry in horror and embarrassment, full of vigilance against his action.

"Fuck off!" He kicked the bathrobe that fell on the floor far away. Glancing at the two of them, Henry walked into the bathroom.

Peter Jian snorted and walked to the bathroom, holding back his anger. He said slowly, "I think you will have a good talk with me in the company in half an hour."

After finishing his words, Peter Jian turned around and left, leaving Carla alone.

"Dad! Please wait for me!" She wanted to catch up to him, but she decided against it as she was still naked. After what had happened, she was sure that people would still be gathered outside. If she went out rashly, she would be the laughingstock.

"What should I do?"

Carla murmured to herself, her slender fingers tightly intertwined. Her uneasiness was completely written on her face.
