Chapter 3 Trapped in a Lie

Aurora's heart still raced as she stood on her feet, her body frozen, her eyes locked on the man...she recognised his face from the portrait she had just seen at the hallway. Oh, he definitely looked so much more handsome with a smile on his face. The only problem was the smile was what she could only describe as a cold, dangerous smirk. She felt like she was in a nightmare. His gaze seemed to bore into her soul, making her skin crawl. Her eyes beat in fast pace as she stared at his dark brown eyes... His eyes narrowed slightly as he took a step closer to her.

"Salvatore, take her away," he ordered, his voice was cold as ice. Salvatore, quickly grabbed Aurora's arm and pulled her away from the scene. She followed reluctant, her eyes fixed on the man. He was the one... He was their master and he was behind her captivity. Aurora suddenly felt like having supernatural powers...She felt like punching him and destroying his bones. * Salvatore pushed her into Lady Brielle room, and Aurora collapsed onto the bed, her body trembling. "You were going to do it. You were going to kill him... and that man, he was going to kill me too... How? Why?" Aurora yelled. "You need to calm down," Salvatore said, his voice slightly softer than before. "You have a lot to learn if you're going to play the role of Lady Brielle." Aurora looked up at him, her eyes flashing with anger. "I won't do it," she spat. "I won't pretend to be someone I'm not." Salvatore expression turned cold. "You don't have a choice in this matter, miss. The master wants you to do that, and what the master wants, the master gets." Aurora's heartbeat increased. she felt like she was loosing her mind. Was she stuck here? Forever? Will no one come looking for her? No!! This was the height of it. She must find her way out. She needed to. If no one could free her from this terrible place, she would have to do it herself. Tonight won't pass by. Suddenly, she felt her stomach rumble, she clutched her hungry stomach realising she had not eaten all day. There was no way she was going out there now when it was still bright. They had guns! She would just need to bear it till she could escape later. She opened the laptop and clicked the first video on it. She started watching Brielle's life. Aurora scoffed when she saw how young Brielle was. She could even pass as her twin! How suspicious... She was the only child of The general, so who was this Brielle? She never believed in doppelgängers, but right now... she was not so sure. Her stomach grumbled for food once more, and Aurora knew she could not ignore it anymore. Aurora stood from the bed and walked towards the door. She opened the door and walked towards Salvatore, who stood guarding outside the room. "I need food" she called out, her voice firm. Salvatore walked away without a response, but returned almost immediately with a tray of food, which he placed on the bedside table. "Eat quickly...then prepare and get dressed... we are having a welcome party for lady Brielle tonight." He said and walked away. Locking the large door behind him. Aurora scoffed at the locked door. Tonight... Salvatore's POV: "Boss! Just as you said, news has come to us from the generals residence. The general woke up only to find his daughter missing." Salvatore said as he stood in front the large throne his master was sitting on. "Apparently, he is making a whole lot of issues with his security personnel, huffing and puffing at the government and being a general nuisance in the country. It won't be long before they are pressured to start a nationwide search for her. The good thing is that there is no evidence pointing her disappearance to us" Salvatore finished, concluding his report. His boss's voice came from the throne, cold, silent and terrifying. "Good". That was it. That was as much as he would be saying. Salvatore knew it too. "Aurora will be very useful to our clan... We will get the mother fucker by all means." Salvatore whispered and exited with a bow. *** Aurora POV: Aurora could hear the music coming from the party as she stood outside the large door leading to the hall. She could not escape coming to the party, not when Salvatore and two more guards were standing in front of her door, one of them holding a dress. She had worn the dress and walked into the party, holding the hem of the dress nervously while her heart pounded in her chest. Just as she walked into the large hall filled with a gang of unfamiliar people talking and dancing, the music stopped abruptly. Aurora turned to see that everyone was looking at her. The logo on the screen lit up, and a voice announced, "Lady Brielle is back, and Alan has been defeated." The crowd cheered loudly, clapping and smiling at her but Aurora felt even more uneasy. She looked around, confused. Lady Brielle? Alan?... The cheers and applause only made her feel more anxious. Who is Alan? What the fuck is going on? So many questions kept running through her mind. "I'm not Brielle, I'm Aurora!" she suddenly yelled feeling even more confused and scared. She had been told to lie to a child, not a full gang of adults!! What the heck was going on? If this was a nightmare, it was the longest, most confusing one she has ever had, she needed to wake up from it, what the fuck! The gang members only stared at her strangely after she yelled her name. A teenage boy with a big grin shouted "Oh don't be silly, Lady Brielle. I'm Axe, the hacker." He smiled a toothy smile. "...You've been gone for two years, but two years is never enough to forget Axe." He said with a pout. A girl with so much pride sashayed towards her, Aurora could already smell the pride and ego wafting from her before she even got close to her. She stopped right in front of Aurora, and folded her arms under her breast, scrutinising her with her eyes. "Mmm.. something isn't right... but then again, there's always been something wrong with you. I'm Sasha, the striker... you know? the girl you hate?" When aurora did not respond, Sasha walked away with a light scoff. The introductions continued, but Aurora's head was spinning. These people's weird enthusiasm towards her would surely make her loose her mind. She just could not keep up. All her life, she had been Aurora, first and only daughter of the general, and now, she is being called Brielle. What the actual heck! "Damn!!! I mean, I always knew boss would always do the impossible, but this just takes the cake! I still can't get passed how he got lady Brielle back after all what Alan did. Now baby Marisol will be fine." Axe said, before drinking deeply directly from the bottle of champagne. Why was he deceiving all of them? What did he have to gain from doing all this? Aurora thought as she stood on shaky feet like a fish out of water. Suddenly, the devil himself walked in, his footsteps sending shivers down her spine. As he walked closer, approaching her with deliberate, determined steps, Aurora stepped back unconsciously. She hate being a coward, but dammit, this man had such a dark aura surrounding him. He walked briefly towards her, and when Aurora thought it could get worse, he reached out and grabbed her face gently. Goosebumps exploded all over her body, her throat became so dry, she could hardly swallow.... He bent his head lower till his mouth was directly at her ear and whispered "You've change your lens to blue, I prefer your eyes green instead, baby"
