Chapter 5 Five

"Lisa Pov "

I looked at myself in the mirror, satisfied with my appearance. I wore a one-shoulder rose gold evening dress.

The length of the dress extends to the floor and has a split revealing my slender smooth leg.

If James were a straight guy, he would definitely be drooling over me. I giggled and shook my head.

I head out on the stairs to the living room where James is waiting for me.

I held my breath, and my eyes were looking at the man standing in front of her.

This guy was a mighty handsome stud.

He was all dressed up. He looked yummy in his black Armani suit.

He was all focused on his phone. I cleared my throat to grab his attention, and he lifted his head, and our eyes met.

He smiled.

"There you're looking stunning."

"You look good too."

He offered his arm to me.

"Shall we"

We walked together to his car. They were close to each other, and she could feel his breath warm against her cheek.

I'm feeling nervous about meeting my family

I'm scared that they will catch me lying to them.

I hope everything goes well, or I will be damned.

We finally arrived at my parents' house; James's chauffeur opened the door for us, and then he handed James a very expensive bottle of wine. And then we headed to my parents' mansion.

The maid opened the door for us.

She greets us while shamelessly checking James.

I clenched my teeth, holding myself back from snapping at her.

" The whole family is gathered in the living room "

I gave her the bottle of wine, then I dismissed her, and we made our way to the living room.

" Good evening, everyone, " I greeted them.

" Lisa, you lucky dog, you got knocked up by the famous James Harper" my sister Zoey shouted.

" Zoey, what was that? Where's your manners?"

"Sorry mother "

Mother's father, this is James Harper, my fiancé"

"James, this is my mother, Nancy, my father, Donald, my sister Zoey and her husband Jason, my brother Mark, and his wife Natalie."

Good evening, everyone, it's my pleasure to meet you"

He shakes their hands

My father was not very pleased with his presence, and he was not trying to hide it along with my brother and brother-in-law.

My mother likes him, and it was all over her face.

"Come on, dinner is ready".

We all sat around the table. My sister and sister-in-law gave me a thumbs up and mouthed it " so freaking hot ". Their husbands glared at them.

I mentally shook my head. Oh, my dear brothers, you're clueless. He would be interested in you.

My father cleared his throat

"Mr Harper, you and your family are the wealthiest families in the US,

We are not comparable to you, and I will be honored to have a business deal with you, but I don't appreciate knocking up our daughter behind our backs, out of wedlock. If I were my father, you would have a gun pointed at your head.

" Donald !!" My mom hissed at him.

" James darling, don't mind Donald, he's a father, and he's being over-protective towards Lisa."

She said, trying to ease the tension. My father ignored her and continued

" Your wedding registration will be this week and the big wedding next month "

" But dad ! "

" Shut up, Lisa. I will never allow my grandson to be born out of wedlock, and it's final. "

"Don't worry sir, my intention is to marry her. I love your daughter and I will attend to spend my life with her ", then he takes out a fancy box and my mother and sisters gasp in surprise.

He took out the engagement ring, he grabbed my hand, and put it on my finger, then he planted a soft kiss on my hand, and my heart skipped a beat, his lips were soft and warm and gave me shivers.

Everyone clapped and congratulated us.

I showed the ring to my mother, Zoey, and Natalie, and they looked at the ring in Awe. He got me a very expensive beautiful diamond ring.

He really surprised me. He was a good actor.

Finally, we called off the night. Everything ran smoothly after James proposed to me. He saved the night. The tension between James and my father cooled off a little bit. They talked at some potential business deal between them.

My mother and sisters started planning for the wedding, and I left with a headache. They want a big wedding and I want a simple wedding. It's just a fake wedding for God's sake.

"These are the prenup papers. Check the new clauses before signing " I have already signed them.

James's voice took me out of my trance. We're in his car in front of my residential block.

I add a clause that you will not demand a single cent from me, and it goes for me as well. That stank me a little bit because I will never take money from him. I'm not a gold digger, I'm an independent woman, but it',s okay he's protecting hihis s and family's money.

" You get to keep the gifts, and I will financially support you during our marriage."

" No, thanks, I have my own money to spend."

"But I'm your future husband, and it's my responsibility. "

"We will talk about that another time. "

" You will move to my mansion after we get married. "

" I will not move in with you ! I have my own home "

" We will be a married couple. How will you explain to your family and my family that we are living in separate homes? They will doubt the whole thing. "

"Okay, you got a point. "

" No dating in public"

"We need to stay faithful to each other in public, so neither our families nor the world can suspect anything. "

"I'm okay with that."

" Is that a yes"

" yes "

" pen?"

He hands me a pen. I take a final look at the contract, then I sign it.
