Chapter 1 One

"Lisa Pov "

I was working on a new project in my office when my phone rang.

I looked at the caller ID, and it was my mother. I rolled my eyes.

She never gave up. I had been ignoring her calls all day because I was in a good mood and didn't want it ruined.

With a sigh I finally picked.

"Hello, mother."

"Why are you not answering my calls, young lady? I have been trying to call you for ages!"

"I am busy, Mom! I have a big new project I am working on."

"You are an office rat, Lisa! How will you find a nice man, get married, and give me a grandchild if you never leave your office?"

"Mom, we talked about this. I don't want to get married anytime soon. I am just 23. I like my freedom, and I want to focus on my career."

She scoffed. "When I was your age, I was engaged to your father. Anyway, I have a big announcement tonight at dinner. Don't be late." Then she hung up.

When will they stop meddling in my life?

In my personal life, for fuck's sake

I'm an adult. I can make my own decisions.

I wondered what the "big announcement" was. I just hoped she wasn't trying to set me up with some random guy.

Later, when I got ready for family dinner, I kept things simple: high-waisted, ripped dark blue jeans, a classic white T-shirt, white sneakers, and a small pink bag.

I drove to my parents' mansion, reached the gate, and parked my BMW in the family lot.

I rang the doorbell, and the maid opened it.

"Good evening, Sarah."

"Good evening, Miss Lisa."

"Where are my parents?"

"The whole family is in the living room."

I headed there and found my parents, siblings, and my sister and brother-in-law gathered.

"Good evening, guys."

"Well, hello Lisa, no time no see," they all chimed.

"I have been busy,"

They mimicked me at the same time, mocking.

I rolled my eyes. "Somebody's in a good mood today. What's the occasion?"

"Let's have dinner first, and then we will talk." Mom said.

Dinner was delicious. We talked about the family business and my new project.

My sister and sister-in-law were both pregnant with their first children, due any time now.

They complained about how overprotective my brother and brother-in-law had become.

After dinner, we moved to the living room for drinks.

"So what's the big announcement, Mom? Dad?" I asked.

"You know we love you, and we want to see you happy like your brother Tommy and your sister Megan. We want to see your future children before we die." Dad began.

Here we go with the drama.

"So we have decided that you will marry your uncle Jerry's son, Thomas, this summer, and that's final."

"You what?" I yelled.

"You don't have to force me to marry that spoiled brat! I can't stand him! He disgusts me! He's a ladies' man; he would be the last person on earth that I would marry."

"You're single, and there's plenty of time to get to know each other," mother insisted.

"I can't marry him because....I'm pregnant with another man's baby. and we're getting married."

"You are pregnant!"

My mother fainted on the couch. My dad yelled for the maid to bring water.

Everyone was shocked by my lie, but it had to be done. There's no way I was marrying that dickhead.

Once the chaos settled, they were still furious that I was "pregnant before marriage," but they accepted it. Then they demanded to meet my fiancé tomorrow.

I told them that he was on a business trip and wouldn't be back for two weeks. That gave me just enough time to find myself a fake fiancé.

I said goodbye, drove back to my apartment, and immediately called my best friend, Maria.

"Come to my apartment now. ASAP." I hung up before she could ask anything.

I showered, changed into shorts and a top. And made drinks and snacks us.

Half an hour later, Maria burst into my apartment. "What the hell is wrong with you calling me here at this hour?"

" Maria. I'm in big trouble. I need your help."

"Okay, tell me."

"I told my family I was pregnant with my fiancé's baby."

"Holly shit, you what?!" she screamed.

"Calm down! I am not pregnant. I don't even have a boyfriend. I'm still a virgin."

"I need a drink to process this."

"I will get the martini."

She grabbed the glass and downed it in one go.

"Whoa, slow down, missy."

"So? Why did you lie to your family?"

"They want me to marry Thomas, their business partner, against my will. And they won't take no for an answer."

"Ew. That annoying manwhore."

"So what are you going to do?"

"I don't know. They want to see my fiancé, but I told them that he's on a business trip for two weeks; I can't drag this out forever."

Marie leaned back. "Okay... I might have an idea. A friend of mine is an actor. He's gorgeous, sexy, you could hire him to pretend your fiancé "

"No, I don't want any kind of relationship with a man, even a fake one. I don't want complications."

"Okay...what about a gay man?"

"What?! Are you crazy?" I burst out laughing.

"Listen. You hire a gay man, set up a one year contract, pay him a fixed amount and he will pretend to be your fiancé and baby daddy. No one will know. He won't see you as a woman, and you won't see him as a man; no strings attached."

"And where exactly am I supposed to find a gay man?"

"I know the perfect place."

Chapter 2 Two

"Lisa Pov "

A gay bar? Are you fucking kidding me?"

"Dah, it's the perfect place to pick a gay man,"

Maria said, rolling her eyes.

"Now come on, lift your ass, and let's get inside."

I parked the car, and we walked in.

It was my first time in a gay bar; the place was warm with red lights and LGBTQ flags hanging everywhere, and a crowd of gay couples, trans people, male strippers, and even some women.

We took a seat at the bar and ordered beers.

"So? How's the place?" Maria asked.

" Cool," I said, scanning the room.

"Great, Let's find you the perfect man."

" Cheers, "

"Let the hunt begin."

One hour later, we interviewed what felt like a

a hundred men, and nothing clicked.

Maria groaned.

"Girl, I am exhausted. pick one for fuck's sake; it's just a deal; you're not actually going to marry the guy for real."

"Still! I need to choose wisely; I don't want my family getting suspicious about the whole fake engagement."

We were mid- argument when the most gorgeous, hottest man I had ever seen walked into the bar.

"Maria... look."

Maria gasped. "Wow, what a piece of art. Shame he's not interested in us."

He wore a fitted white shirt, ripped black jeans and white sneakers.

Dirty blonde hair. Blue eyes. Full red lips, and a sculpted, muscular body.

And tall.

Like...six foot- something tall

Oh my god. The first guy I am attracted to.... And he's gay!!

Get a grip, girl.

He walked to the bar, and hugged the bartender, then sat across from him, laughing. Great, boyfriend confirmed

"So, you wanna talk to him?" Maria smirked.

"Okay... let's go."

We approached him.

"Hi. Can I get you a drink?" I said.

"No thanks; I am not interested in having sex with you."

My cheeks burned. "Oh, you got me wrong." I am not flirting."

He arched a brow amused. "Then what do you want?"

"I have an offer for you."

"What kind of offer?"

"I want you to be my fiancé"

He choked on his drink "What?!"

"No, my fake fiancé," I clarified quickly.

"Look, I know you're gay, and the bartender is your boyfriend, so he's the deal. My family is forcing me to marry a man I despise, so I lied and to them I'm pregnant with my fiancé. To get out of trouble, Maria suggested that I hire one of her male friends to be my fake fiancé, but I didn't want to mess with a straight guy. So she said I should hire a gay man."

I exhaled

"I will offer you one million dollars to act as my fiancé for a year. Just until my family backs off."

For a moment, he said nothing, just stared. Then finally:

"Okay. We have a deal."

"I am Liza, by the way." I said, relieved.

"James."

"Here's my business card. Can I get your number?

He took my phone, entered his number and called himself.

"I will call you tomorrow, so we will discuss the agreement."

We shook hands, his grip was warm and strong and my heart jumped.

I looked at his face; then his lips... and imagined how it would feel if we shared a kiss.

Oh my god, stop drooling over the gay man.

I cleared my throat. "I had better get going. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, sweet girl."

I found Maria dancing with some guy.

"Maria, let's go,."

"Bye, Marcooo!" she said, waving like a drunk Disney character. "It's nice hanging out with a man who doesn't try to get in your pants."

"So? How did it go with the Hulk?" She asked once we reached the car.

"He said yes."

"Yay! Good for you!"

"I will call my lawyer in the morning to prepare the contract."

"Let's go home; I am tired."

"Okay, bestie."

I dropped her off, then went home.

Shower. Skin care.Pajamas.

But when I lay in bed, all I saw was James's face.

God, he's so hot!!

I need to stop thinking about him like that. He's gay, for fuck's sake.

"James Pov "

I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my temples

Today was hell. Absolute hell.

I changed out of my business suit, I drove my Austin Martin to my brother's bar, his pride and joy, and walked straight to him.

Jason grinned and hugged me.

"Hey, brother. Rough day?"

"Like shit. That old man is refusing to sign the contract. gave me a fucking migraine. Pour me the strongest thing you have."

"Take it easy, buddy, That's why I left the business world and followed my heart." He said laughing.

I rolled my eyes and shot him the middle finger.

I was scrolling through my phone when I heard a soft angelic voice.

"Excuse me."

I looked up and saw quite literally the most beautiful woman I have ever encountered.

Long golden hair. Big green eyes, and full pink lips.

A strapless black dress, hugging evert curves perfectly.

One look at her and all I wanted was to kiss senseless.

"Hi," she said. "can I grab you a drink?"

"No thanks. I am not interested in having sex with you."

Big fat lie.

If she only knew what is going through my mind.

"Oh, you got me wrong, I'm not flirting," She said.

Ouch. My ego.

"Then what else do you want?" I asked, amused.

I have an offer for you."

"What kind of offer?"

"I want you to be my fiancé."

I almost spit my drink, "What?!"

Then she explained everything, her family forcing her to marry some asshole, her lie about being pregnant, her friend suggesting she hire a gay man.

And then she said it

"One million dollars to pretend for one year."

The fuck!!!

This girl thinks I was gay. And uninterested.

If she only knew the thoughts I had the second I laid eyes on her. that all I wanted right now was to grab her sexy ass and fuck her senseless on the counter.

Should I tell her?

Should I walk away?

Or...should I play along?

A man needs entertainment.

And holy hell, she was a walking fantasy.

Lol, she offered me money. Adorable. She has no clue who she's talking to.

This would be fun.

"Okay. We have a deal," I said.

She smiled, so sweet, so innocent.

"I am Lisa, by the way."

"I am James."

She handed me her phone. I entered my number and called myself.

"I will call tomorrow, so we can talk about the agreement."

God, she's so innocent; she had no idea what she's getting herself into. She just handed herself over to the devil on a silver platter.

We shook hands, her small soft hand in mine.

"I had better get going.Goodnight."

"Goodnight, sweet girl."

Jason smacked the back of my head. "You asshole. Deceiving that poor girl.

"I am a gentleman, I'm helping her," I said innocently.

He snorted. "Douchebag."

"I will get that sexy body in my bed," I muttered.

"I hope you won't regret this," he warned.

"Don't crawl back to me crying later."

I laughed.

"Definitely not gonna happen, bro."

Chapter 3 Three

"Lisa Pov "

I called my lawyer about preparing the marriage papers. And then I realised that I didn't even know James' surname.

Great. Just great.

I picked up my phone and dialled his number. It rang a few times, I was about to give up when he finally answered.

"Hello, gorgeous."

"Hello, Mr. James," I said awkwardly.

He chuckled. "Please. you don't need to be formal around me, just call me James."

"Um...I actually to ask for your full name; my lawyer is arranging the marriage agreement,

And I needed it ."

"Harper, James Harper, " he said smoothly.

"Okay. And if you don't mind...my family wants to see you next Sunday for dinner."

"I don't mind, and don't forget to send me the contract before we officially sign it; I want my lawyer to revise it"

"Yes, sure. Thank you, James. Have a nice day."

"No need to thank me..my lily."

I hung up the phone.

Hmmmm.

James Harper.

Could he be the famous James Harper, the billionaire?

I googled his name, and my doubts were true.

He's a fucking billionaire!

The Tabloid playboy.

The man whose name alone could buy half the city.

But whst the hell was a man like that doing pretending to be an average guy in a gay bar?

I will confront him about this later.

I kept scrolling

There he was pictures with different women expensive cars, gala events.

Wow, he's really good at covering covering up his "sexuality".

He must not be ready to come out yet.

I sighed.

Look like my fake fiancé comes with a lot of secrets.

"James Pov"

"I'm getting married, boys, " I said taking a sip of my whisky.

Connor and Graham exploded laughing so hard the table shook. We are at one of my clubs enjoining our usual boys' night out.

"Are you high? That must have been some strong shit," Graham whezzed.

"I'm not high, and I I'm not drunk, you leashes."

"So did hit your head?" Connor asked.

"No.. I'm serious, I'm getting married," I said flatly.

Connor choked on his drink. "Fucking no way. The almighty James Harper, the king of womanizers is getting married?"

"Actually.." I paused for a dramatic look effect.

"I'm gay now."

"What the fuck, man?" Graham yelled.

"Are you marrying a man?" Connor

asked, eyes wide.

"No! Calm your asses down."

I told them everything meeting Liza at my brother's gay bar, her thinking I was gay, her offer, the contract, the money, all of it.

Connor whistled, "And how exactly do you plsn on convincing her to have sex with you, smartass?"

"Don't worry, I have my ways." I said with a smirk.

"Let's make a bet". Conor pulled out his phone and hit the record button.

"If you succeed in fucking her, I will give you my Ferrari; if you fail, you will give me your brand new Bugatti."

I grinned. "Deal."

We shook hands.

Grahom frowned. "And what if you actually fall for her all the way? And she finds out the truth?

I laughed. "No way I will fall for that girl; I'm after her body, not for her heart. And I don't care if she finds out after I get into her pants."

"You a fake boyfriend for this story though." Graham said cautiously.

"Correct, whitch means, Connor... congratulations. You're my boyfriend." I said.

Connor groaned. "Hell no."

"If you refuse, the bet is off."

He sighed heavily. " Fine. Whatever."

****************

"How come you didn't tell me that you are the famous James Harper, the business tycoon?" Liza asked.

We are having dinner together to discuss the marriage contract.

"Like you said, I'm James Harper, the multi-billionaire. I don't exactly need to introduce myself to anyone," I smirked.

"Cocky much," she snorted.

I chuckled

"You're very good at hiding your sexual identity; I'm impressed. You're a complete womanizer in the tabloids. Why haven't you come out ? It's normal nowadays to express your sexual preferences in the eyes of the public." She said.

"My parents are extremely religious, if they found out I liked man, they would cut me off." I said calmly.

She nodded sympathetically. "I get that, as I come from an old-fashioned family too, they don't believe in sex before marriage, and having kids out of wedlock. They have been trying to arrange my marriage since I turned nineteen years old. You should have seen their faces when I told them that I'm pregnant with your baby," she

I looked at her bantering about her family, and a small smile curved around my lips.

She really likes provoking her family and annoying them.

I really like her smiling face and her joyful self.

"I told them that we would have dinner tomorrow, they have been insisting on meeting you."

" I don't mind."

"Thank you a lot for helping me. Even though I still don't know why you agreed, you clearly don't need my money." She added.

"You were desperate for my help; I'm doing you a favor." I said lightly.

She rolled her eyes playfully.

"No, seriously, this fake agreement is a benefit for the two of us.You need a fake fiancé and future husband to save yourself from an arranged marriage to someone you despise. For me, I get to keep my sexuality hidden from my family and save my heritage," I winked at her.

"This is the marriage agreement; if you are okay with the clauses, we can go ahead with marriage procedures." She said, handing me the contract.

"Okay, I will give it to my lawyers to check."

She nodded.

"Can we go home now? It's getting late, and I have early work tomorrow."

"Of course, let me drive you."

I drove her to her building.

"Thank you for the evening; I really had a good time."

"Me too; I enjoyed your company."

"So goodnight; see you tomorrow."

"Allow me to walk you to your apartment."

"No need; I can go by myself."

"I insist."

"Okay"

We got to her apartment, and she unlocked her door.

"Thank you again, James, for the evening,"

and she kissed my cheek.

"Goodnight"

"Goodnight, angel."
