Lila's POV

"No!, please stop you're hurting me!" I screamed as i struggled up from the bed waking up from what seemed like a terrible nightmare, the darkness was suffocating , I could barely see i realised my candle lights had gone out, but I could feel this cold chill all around me, I knew something was up, but I can't place my hands on it. I only moved my hands few inches from my bed to the table just by the left side of my bed got my lighter and lit my candles back on, I sat up on my bed trying to remember the dream I just had, I knew it was a man, he was tall, huge, and I can barely remember his features but I swear I remember his eyes, they were the most beautiful set of eyes I have ever seen, It felt like a sweet terror.

I stood from my bed and went straight to the bathroom to ease myself, I quickly cleaned myself up and snuggled myself back in bed and just prayed the day would break.

"Good day Miss, the sun has risen' Kristin said as she opened my windows and slid my cottons open hooking each one to the side to let the sun rays in, I quickly pulled my sheets to shield my face from the sun. "Miss, breakfast is ready and her majesty wants to know if everything is alright, they're all waiting at the dining hall Miss" I pulled off my sheet with the speed of light the moment I heard the word waiting, I can't believe I slept in late, what happened to me I know for a certain I have a record for being late to everything but this time was way too much, "Go on I'll join you shortly" I said as I waved Kristin to go but then called her to stop " and please tell her majesty that all is well that I just happened to have overslept" she took a slight bow and responded with a "Yes ma'am" I waved her off asking her to go. I got up, walked my way straight into the bathroom turned on the heater, waited for about five minutes then went into the bathtub, I sat there for a while before reaching out for my soap to bath.

Being the first daughter to the king of the sunbeam clan, was an honor I'm sure I wasn't ready for, my mother is a powerful witch who controls all the coven in the land and my father an Alpha, his blood is mixed of that of a wolf and a vampire, I'm still shocked as to why I have no power of mine, I only existed unlike my younger sister Sabella and my younger brother Andrews who were both wolves, mine hasn't been found yet, nonetheless they never treated me any differently infact they all make sure I'm safe, most times I feel like I'm a burden to the entire family (literally yeah, I'm a burden to them) which is why my father has refused to mate me to just any suitor but he wants me to be mated with the strongest wolf in the land and he keeps saying he hasn't seen him yet, which feels like a good thing, afterall I'm not ready to be mated to any man I'm only but 19.

"Oh my goodness, Laura you scared me" I Screamed as I walked out of the bathroom holding my towel to my head, "I'm sorry Miss" she apologized with a slight bow. Laura is my personal maid and I could say I see her as my friend since I'm not allowed to keep friends or talk to anyone outside the palace asides from my distant cousins Celestine who come to visit the palace once in a while, I and Celestine has had way too many adventures since we were kids, most of the times we'd snick out to parties with his friends drink ourselves out and sneak back into the palace without anyone noticing since we already knew the palace like the back of our hands,he's always kept me safe in all of out escapes since we only started sneaking out after his wolf side has emerged.

Laura has taken care of me since I was a kid, read me bed time stories, played with me in the garden, she's always been there for me all step that I have ever taken.

"Miss I was thinking if you would love this dress for today?" Laura said as she picked out a blue flowery dress from the wardrobe, fitting to herself so I could see it better "hmmm, looks perfect for the weather" I said with a smile, she went ahead to drop the gown on my bed then moved over to the dressing mirror were I sat trying to dry my hair and took the towel from me went to dry it out and came in with a hair drier, before I knew she was done styling my hair, it looked perfect, I applied my body scented oil and slid into my day gown. "Laura, do you know if Celestine got my letter?, has he written back?" I asked simultaneously, she shaked her head in disagreement and said "No Miss, but I'm sure the young master will write back once he gets your later" she said as she made to the door, "Laura I want my breakfast at the library please" I requested, "yes ma'am I'll inform the kitchen right away" she said making to leave before I stopped her "Laura I wanted to know, why was it Kristen who woke me this morning " I inquired to know because it's only her who wakes me in the morning "I'm sorry Miss, I was sick so I didn't come by earlier it won't happen again " she apologized, God knows I hate when she does that I only assured her that it was okay, that i only wanted to know if all was fine "and hope your health is better now?" I asked, "yes Miss, thank you for understanding" she said with a bow which I nodded to before she left.
