Will Helen's thirst for revenge consume her, or will she emerge victorious and more powerful than ever?

Chapter 1 She had a flash marriage.

"When is your friend going to leave our house?" Helen heard her friend's husband, Jaden, angrily questioning as she wearily entered the house.

She paused awkwardly at the door.

Her friend, Serah, raised her voice a few notches. "Jaden, don't you have any conscience? Helen gives us hundred thousand naira every month for living expenses, and it's still not enough to cover the rent for your crappy house?"

Jaden sneered. "What do you know, as a housewife who's being supported by me? I've heard that Helen's small company earns more than hundred thousand naira a month. She treats you like a servant, not a friend! Let her bear all the living expenses, or she can get out!"

Helen lowered her eyes, concealing her emotions.

A few days ago, she had heard the exact same argument.

She was an orphan who had built a small company with her own hands. But due to her partner's betrayal, she was struggling to make ends meet and was burdened with debt. Her only friend at the orphanage, Serah, had immediately invited her to live with her when she heard about her situation.

At the time, Serah had just gotten married, and Jaden had been very accommodating to her. He not only did not object, but even helped her move in.

Recently, her company had finally started to pick up, and although she still had debts to pay off, she had tried to pay back the rent she owed as much as possible, so as not to be a burden on Helen.

But now that her friend's family was unhappy, she didn't want to cause any more trouble for Serah.

After all, it wasn't her own home, and she had no say in anything.

Helen deliberately closed the door loudly, and the argument inside the house came to an abrupt end.

Jaden looked at Helen with a stiff expression and smiled. "Hey Helen, you're back early today."

Helen nodded and took out two small boxes from her bag.

"This is a gift for you guys."

Jaden glanced at it and saw that they were two couple watches.

He knew the price of these watches, and it was definitely not something he, a salary worker, could afford.

Hmph, she said she didn't have money, but now she's showing her true colors.

He snorted coldly and was about to speak when he heard Helen's cold voice.

"Serah, I'm getting married and I'm planning to move out."

As soon as she finished speaking, both of them were shocked.

Serah grabbed her friend's hand and said worriedly, "Helen, you... don't have any psychological burden. My home is your home!"

Jaden opened his mouth and was a little reluctant to let go of this fat lamb that hadn't been slaughtered yet.

"Yeah, Serah and I were just fooling around. I'm just a bit straightforward when I speak. Don't take it to heart."

Helen raised her eyes and glanced at the man who was smiling awkwardly. "No, I really got married."

She took out two bright red little cards and handed them to Serah.

Serah stared at the handsome man with a cold expression in the photo and her heart skipped a beat. She grabbed her friend's hand and walked out of the door.

"Helen, this is not a joke. I don't think this man is easy to get along with. How did you meet him?"

Helen flashed some bloody scenes in her mind and spoke carefully, "He had a car accident and I happened to save him. We... fell in love at first sight."

She hooked her lips and gave a bitter smile.

In fact, she only wanted to share a house with that man at first, but she didn't expect him to propose marriage later on.

Helen recalled the scene in the hospital room. The man laid on the bed with a slightly pale and indifferent face. "You saved me, and it's not good for me to charge you rent. Why don't we get married? It saves us the trouble of going around in circles!"

"No need, let's be cautious about this," Helen initially refused. She didn't understand why it was necessary to get married just because they were living together.

But she remembered that she had tried to move out a few times before, only to be stopped by her best friend's tears. Her friend said that they were sisters for life, and if it weren't for her getting married, she wouldn't be able to bear leaving her alone. Helen was deeply moved, but she couldn't let her friend and her husband argue every day because of her. She had to move out.

After weighing her options, she could only contact the man again with the phone number she had left behind, and they decided to get married. They went with the flow and got a marriage certificate.

"He has a house in the city center, he's not very rich, but he's a good person."

Of course, she wouldn't tell her best friend that the house was rented, and the only valuable thing, the car, had been crashed. When she saved him, he didn't even have enough money to pay for his medical expenses, and she had to pay for it. The clothes he wore were also the most ordinary style, and it was clear that they didn't fit him well.

She heard that when he woke up, he wanted to pay her back for the medical expenses, but when he checked his phone, he only had a few dollars left. Helen didn't care, after all, she still needed his help.

At that time, she had already guessed that the man's financial situation was probably not very good. So when the man said he would pay a dowry, Helen looked at the finger he used to write with and shook her head with a smile, "No need.”

She didn't need that much money. Helen was always a calm and self-restrained person, and Serah didn't think much of it either. She just nodded, "Well, we're not after someone who's rich and powerful. Just don't be like my husband and calculate everything every day."

She chuckled and jokingly said, "I found that our values are becoming more and more incompatible, but I believed in his words and quit my job. I lost my income. Maybe one day I'll have to come to you and ask for shelter."

Talking about this, Serah felt even more guilty. They grew up together, and Helen had always protected her. Even when she got married, Helen gave her a large sum of money despite the pressure of the company's debt. But now she couldn't help Helen in any way.

Helen comforted her friend, left her some money, and packed her luggage before leaving. She found a café and, feeling anxious, stared at her phone screen for a long time before dialing the unknown number.

A low, husky voice answered, "What's up?"

Helen frowned unconsciously at the sound of the man's voice and asked, "Are you drinking?”

The man responded with a shallow "Mm-hmm."

Helen touched her nose and awkwardly asked, "Um... could you please drink less? You just got injured, and it's not good for your health. I wanted to ask you, which street is our home? What's the floor and room number?"

When he woke up earlier, he only vaguely mentioned the city center and didn't tell her the specific address.

There was a pause on the other end, followed by a cold sneer.

Justin leaned back on the sofa, exuding a chill. That's right, he got married to a stranger.
