"Hey guys, get ready with me for a wedding. I styled my hair already as you can see, now it's time for makeup."
Leah stood in front of her phone camera while doing some touches to her face.
She was making one of those GRWM videos. Leah was wearing a bathrobe while making the video, her blonde hair was sitting pretty on head, her blue eyes adding to her charms. She was a verified content creator with almost a million followers both on TikTok and Instagram,
Sophia looked at her roomie and best friend and shook her head. She was sitting on the couch , she wore silk pajamas, her brown hair was tied up roughly and her hazel eyes with reading glasses were focused on Leah. Leah was distracting her work with her video.
Sophia had quit her corporate job where she worked as a personal assistant to the CEO of the company to open a cafe of her dreams. She was a sole owner of a blooming cafe.
The cafe was going pretty well. Sophia was a skilled baker and always received good reviews from her customers .
Sophia was trying to compile a list of what they needed both at home and at the cafe before she got distracted by Leah's voice.
"What? Why are you giving me that look? Leah paused her video when she noticed the way Sophia was looking at her.
Sophia chuckled at Leah's pouting face. "It's nothing, continue miss GRWM."
Leah stuck her tongue out at Sophia and resumed her video after making a transition.
"I got my dress and shoes from an .... store. The dress code was blue, so I got this sky blue dress, I mean don't it look pretty on me? I know it does, I'm pretty." Leah was also making an advertisement video.
Sophia facepalmed herself at her best friend's narcissistic attitude. She didn't have to let the whole world know she was a narcissist. Oh well, it wasn't something new, she hoped Leah's viewers had gotten used to her.
Sophia resumed her work, she needed to place her orders early so it would get to her on time before they run out of stock.
Sophia clicked on pay and made payment after selecting all she needed. She dropped her laptop on the table, removed her glasses and was now looking at Leah who was dancing to a song.
"Are you sure you don't want to come? I mean, don't you want to see who he is getting married to?" Leah asked Sophia with a questioning look on her face.
"Uhm... how is who he's getting married to any of my business?" Sophia asked Leah back. "You should leave now if you don't want to be late." She added. It was almost time for the wedding and it will take Leah almost an hour to get to the wedding venue.
"Oh, please. Who cares about going late? I'm just going there to snag a handsome guy to play with" Leah giggled "And I'm tired of staying indoors."
Oh, that's true. Sophia forgot about her friend nature. She still wondered how they had become friends. Sophia was a hopeless romantic and Leah was aromatic, Sophia was a gentle and calm girl and Leah was the complete opposite. Two opposite they say attracts each other.
Some boys are tagged playboys and play with girls cruelly, well, the role was reversed here, Leah was a playboy or more precisely, a playgirl. Sophia had lost count of the number of boys she had dated. She had stopped counting at fifteen. It wasn't like Leah had any past trauma, she was just that way and Sophia past incidents helped Leah confirm her belief about Love.
"Okay, get going then." Sophia sized Leah up with her hazel eyes. "You look pretty though."
Leah's lips widened of course she was pretty.
"Thanks Soph." Leah said, still smiling.
Sophia picked up her laptop to watch a movie. She didn't want to think about him at all, that was the past and she had gotten over her unfortunate self. The past should remain in the past.
She has been doing pretty well lately, she thought she wasn't going to recover from the pain but here she was, a cafe owner, living her dreams and having not to worry over about stupid approvals and whatnot.
Sophia knew he was either getting married to any girl his parents approved or to someone he loved. She pushed her thoughts aside and continued searching for a k-drama to watch. Finding an interesting one was always hard. Sophia sighed unbeknownst to her that a certain someone was looking at her with a sad face.
Of course, Leah knew what Sophia was thinking about. She should have kept her mouth shut and not brought up the topic of attending his wedding with her. She knocked her head lightly.
They both were thinking the same thing, "the past should remain in the past."
"I'm sorry for bringing it up. I thought you had gotten over him, it wasn't my intention to make you upset." Leah apologized to Sophia.
"Huhn? Wait a minute, you are getting it wrong. I don't care about him anymore, I just remembered something. That's all. You did nothing wrong." Sophia turned her head away from her laptop to look at Leah.
Leah has always been with Sophia since college. Sophia couldn't remember exactly how they met but their bond grew stronger as the days went by. They were both each other pillars. They had one thing in common though-no parents, they were orphans from a young age and had single-handedly brought themselves to this point where they live comfortably, each established in their individual areas. Leah was getting endorsement deals from beauty, fashion and other companies and Sophia's Cafe was growing steadily.
"I've gotten over him Leah, so feel free to say anything. I would not get upset." Sophia added.
"That's good, that asshole doesn't deserve you. I'm happy you guys broke up. Had I been there when that thing happened, I would have given him the beating of his life. That shibal sekiya." Leah said angrily punching the air.
Sophia laughed at her. "Shibal sekiya?"
"Yes, that's right." Leah answered
"I can see you are learning a lot from k-drama." Sophia laughed again. "You should get going now, or there would be no handsome guy to snag by the time you get there." Sophia said with a smile on her face.
Leah was happy to see Sophia smiling. She checked herself using the television screen. "Perfect." she said heading to the door.
"Don't miss me too much and I might stay out for the night so don't worry too much." Leah told Sophia while opening the door to leave.
"Alright, have fun." Sophia replied her.
"Soph?"
"Yes?"
"Be happy." Leah said before closing the door.
