Your Life For My Dream

A woman was running in the middle of the rain one night. She was looking for where she could hide but since she had nowhere to hide the person chasing her saw her.

You could see the fear on the woman's face until she fell to her feet, "Please, don't kill me!" she shouted "Did something wrong I've done with you?" she was still crying while crawling. The murderer did not speak when he suddenly stabbed her and the woman's blood spread on the floor.

The next day, it was reported that the victim was one of the most beautiful women working in a nearby salon from the crime scene, she was the twentieth female victim killed in a week.

"It's not really good what's going on now" said Penelope 's Dad while eating breakfast "So you have to be careful" he added

While Penelope was lying on the floor due to the physical pain she suffered from her mother's beating this morning. She could not answer what her Dad said, later she forced herself to stand up because she had to go to university to see Sebastian. After taking a bath, she first treated her wounds and bruises.

She just smiled when she looked in the mirror and her bruises couldn't see when she had applied liquid foundation on it, "It's not obvious" she said smiling as she looked at herself in the mirror.

For Penelope, Sebastian is the only reason why she is still happy even she have more suffering as the only daughter of the CEO of Crimson Group of Companies. At the University, the students there knew her because she was beautiful, kind and helpful and her professors knew her because she was a good student. In their classroom, Sebastian becomes her competitor so she admires him even more.

When she arrived in the classroom, she saw that Sebastian was being bullied again because she saw that many things were written on the table he was using so she approached him and greeted him,

"Good morning Baste" she greeted the young man with a smile "I made you a sandwich, do you like it?" she put down her bag and took the sandwich she made for him "hope you like it" she said smiling.

"Thank you Penelope" he said as he grabbed the sandwich, he was about to put it in the bag

"Why? Don't you want to take a bite of it?" Penelope asked "you can still eat that, Prof isn't here yet" she said

Because he felt ashamed, Baste removed the wrapper and bit into it, "It's delicious!" he marveled at the taste of the sandwich.

Penelope was happy with Sebastian's reaction, "Okay, I'll make you some sandwiches again tomorrow" she said and went to her seat. When she noticed that Baste was no longer looking at her, she looked furiously at those who always bullied the young man.

At eight o'clock, their Professor, Ms. Anastasia Alfonso carrying their examination papers with scores already.

"Good morning class!" a happy greetings from their teacher "I have now brought your papers and as usual only two have passed my subject" she looked at the papers and called Penelope and Sebastian to get their papers.

Penelope was happy because she got a perfect score and so was Sebastian.

"Go back to your seat" she said "Congratulations again" she added.

Aside from Penelope, one of the smartest in their class is Sebastian. He is often bullied because he is weird, he often talks to someone they don't see and he is always in the top 10 in the departmental rank so he is bullied even more.

When the class is ended, he waited for Penelope to thank her so he waited for her at the gate to join her to go to their house.

Penelope was surprised when she saw Sebastian outside so she immediately approached him, "Hello, are you waiting for someone?" she asked but in her mind when she was waiting for another woman she would kill her right away.

Sebastian stuttered, "You're the one I'm waiting for, I'll take you to your house if it's okay" he replied "I just want to thank you because you're the kind one to me in our class" he said

Penelope almost jumped for joy when she heard this and she calmed down as well, "It's okay, even if you take me every day" she replied happily.

The two had already walked to Penelope's house but she didn't let Sebastian in, "Thanks for joining me for a walk" she said and she kissed the friend on the cheek.

Sebastian's face turned red because of what she did, "Thank you too" he stammered

From inside the house, they could hear her mother shouting "Where are you Penelope! I told you not to leave the house!" she still kept shouting.

Sebastian looked at Penelope, "will you be okay?" he asked worriedly

She forced to smile, "I'm sorry on behalf of my mother, she's sick so she's always like that but I'm fine" she said

Sebastian just nodded even though he was too worried for her, "I'm leaving, see you tomorrow" he said.

She just smiled at him, "Be careful, see you tomorrow" she said and she waved her hand to him until he left.

When she entered the house, her mother immediately beat her, "I told you not to leave the house, why can't you listen!" her mother said angrily as she hit her with a stick. She continues to be beaten even though she already feels that her body is extreme pain but she still does not resist because her father always tells her to just understand her mother because she is mentally ill.

When her father came home she was lying on the floor again and crying, her father just greeted her and left her lying there. He go to greet her wife and to look what she's cooking for the dinner.

She really couldn't stand the pain in her body anymore so she just forced herself to get up to go to her room to rest. She tries to not to cry while walking towards her room because her father didn't want to see her crying.

Her Dad noticed her going to her room, "Aren't you going to eat dinner?" he asked as if he didn't know that her mother had beaten her again.

She just shook her head, "I'll eat later Pa, I still have an assignment to finish" she reasoned "I'll eat later when I'm done" she added

Her mother approached her, "Child are you sick?" she asked as if she had forgotten that she had beaten Penelope earlier.

When her mother touched her, she was so scared, "I'm fine ma, I'll eat later just I'll need to finish my school works" she went straight to her room. When she came to her room she immediately lay down on her bed and cried so hard because of the extreme pain she felt not only physically but also emotionally.

While Sebastian was on his way home, he met a man in a black hooded jacket.

The man suddenly stopped, "Young man" the hooded jacket man calls him

He looked around to see if there was anyone else besides the two of them, when he saw that there was no one else he immediately turned to the man, "Why? Do you need anything from me?" he asked

The man approached him, "Do you like to draw?" he asked

He was nervous because he didn't know the man asking him, "Yes, why?" he replied

The man handed him a sketchpad that looked new to him, "For you" he said

Although he was hesitant, he took what the man was offering to him, "Thank you" he turned around for a moment to get money to pay the man for the sketchpad but when he faced it again he was gone. Out of fear, he went home because his grandmother might be waiting for him.

In the evening, when he asleep he has a dream. There is beautiful place where he is standing and around him he saw again the man in black hood sitting in the middle of them. Twelve people with him standing around the man, it is like a meeting or alike of it.

The man stood up, "I have chosen you twelve to fulfill a wish of the winner of the game I made" he said.

Not everyone was surprised by what the man said except Sebastian, "A request?" he whispered to himself

"I have two rules for this game, first you have to have a duel with your prospect victim, even if you know your victim and you know his full name you can't write that on the sketchpad I gave you without a fight that will take place "he said" second you can't write your own name on the sketchpad to commit suicide if you want to quit this game, there is no way to quit this game because I am the one who chose you and the remaining one I will give him his wish "he said

"Only one will be alive?" he asked himself "You mean we have to kill each other for a wish ?!" Sebastian asked the man nervously

"Yes you are right there, you have to kill each other for your impossible requests" he replied "you can go back" he sat down again in the middle and one by one the people around disappeared.

When he woke up he saw his grandmother beside him worried, "Are you all right?" she asked

He looked around as if he is looking on something, "I'm fine grandma" he said as he wiped his sweat.

"Looks like you're having bad dreams again?" said his grandmother as she handed him a glass of water.

He drank it first then he spoke, "Maybe grandma" he replied

Because it was Saturday, he just stayed at their house. While cleaning the house he still could not forget his dream as if it had really happened. He also couldn't take his eyes off the sketch pad the man had given him, "Maybe I just did that in my imagination" he said to himself.

After cleaning the house he went back to his room to study, when he felt tired of studying he closed his eyes and saw again the friends he had made in his imagination.

As he closed his eyes he immediately saw Neko and Silly, the friends he had made in his imagination. Neko was a white cat while Silly was a dog with brown fur, they immediately approached Sebastian.

"How are you Seb?" Neko asked "looks like you're coming here more often?" he added

As he stroked Neko and Silly's fur he thought again, "I don't know but I'm scared" he said with sadness in his eyes

"Afraid of where?" Silly asked as he wagged his tails

"I don't know" he replied "but I feel scared on something"

Neko jumped onto Sebastian's lap, "We'd better to have rest, you might just be tired" he said

"Sure, maybe I'm just tired" he replied. He leaned against the tree where they were sitting and Silly was lying next to him.

In the real world, Sebastian fell asleep on his desk while studying when his grandmother saw him, so she immediately took a blanket and wrapped it around him.

His grandmother feels sorry for her grandson's condition because since his parents disappeared, he always feels that he is alone, which is why he always makes imaginary friends. His grandmother just can't tell him that's his friends are not true because her grandson might be even sadder when he finds out that Neko and Silly are not true.

When he felt a back pain and numb legs, he woke up then he went to the kitchen to have something to eat. He cooks when he saw that only raw foods are on the fridge when he finished cooking he prepares the table to eat. While eating, someone send a message to him by an unknown number, "Please see me at the nearby train station".

Even though he didn't know who sent him the message still he went to the nearby train station, speculating that he might know someone who needed help. He sat in the waiting area to wait for whoever needs his help, while waiting he took out the sketchpad given to him to draw something so he would not get bored. He waited an hour but no one approached him.

When he noticed the time he put away his belongings, "Looks like someone is making a prank on me again" he whispered to himself and sighed then he got up and walked home.

As he walked home he felt someone following him, out of fear so he walks fast as he could then step by step until his walk became ran. The man who was following him was still chasing him block by block, he wanted to shout for help but he couldn't do it out of fear. He did not see a rock in his way so he fell down and he can't stand immediately. The person chasing him was about to stab him but suddenly a person in a red jacket and black hat who appeared and helped him. He immediately grabbed the knife and made him run.

He could not run properly due to extreme fear and because his ankle hurts. He didn't know why that man wanted to kill him, then he run as fast as he can again.

"Just run Seb" he said to himself. Suddenly he stopped because he was tired, he turned around and saw the person who wanted to kill him. He could not recognize it because he was wearing a mask and a coat and hat, while the person who helped him could not recognize him because the hat covered his face.

When he caught up with Baste, he immediately pulled him and grabbed his arms so tight, "Are you going to kill yourself? Why did you stop from running?" he angrily asked him in guess she is female because of the voice and he thinks more because the voice is familiar to him.

When the man who wanted to kill Seb caught up with them, a knife hit the hat of the woman who helped him, he was shocked when he know and recognized the woman who was helping him, "Penelope ?!" he says

Penelope just looked at him, "I'll explain later when we can hide so run fast as you can" she said

They also moved away from the person who wanted to kill him and they looked for a hiding place. When they found out a place that they can hide, Penelope immediately explained to him what was going on.

"Does that mean it's not a dream?" he felt so scared that he understood everything

Penelope looked from the outside to see if their first opponent was approaching, "Listen to my plan, we need to declare a duel with her for our victory to be valid" she said.

Sebastian trembled with fear, "But I don't know how to fight, I'm scared" he replied to Penelope

She turned to him, "You just have to choose, whether you're alive or his life" she immediately came out when she saw that their opponent was close.

Knowing that she was not the target, she pulled Baste out and together they ran to a nearby park for a duel.

"We're challenged to a duel, third" Penelope said

"Third?" Baste asked in astonishment "Do you know him?"

"We all have numbers, you are first and I am second" she said

"I don't need you second, I need first so don't interfere in our duel" said the man standing in front of them

"But I don't know how to fight" he replied with his knees shaking

"Say that Baste!"Penelope shouted

"Which?!"

"I accept the duel, don't worry your fight is also my fight" she replied

Even though she was too scared, she just followed what Penelope said. After he said that, the ambiance around was different and that's where the fight started because the third also accepted the challenge of the second so Dreos (man in the black hood) allowed the second to fight as well.

The fight between the three has already begun. Sebastian could barely move from where he stood, Penelope became the fighter for him. He was amazed at Penelope's actions, he couldn't quite imagine that the woman who was famous at the University for being beautiful and modest also knew how to fight.

"First, you need to move and fight!" Second shouted because Third injured her so she couldn't move right away

Third was about to stab him when Penelope threw a stick to him so that he wouldn't be stabbed right away, "What's up First ?! Are you going to kill yourself?" she shouted again

"But I can't kill!" he replied "But I don't want to die either" he immediately picked up the wood that Penelope had thrown and fought Third.

Penelope just smiled when she saw that Sebastian somehow knew how to fight. When she tied her wound, she stood up and helped Sebastian to fight again. Sebastian accidentally hit the man's mask so blood flowed on his face and caused him to remove his mask.

When their opponent removed his mask they were surprised who was behind it, "Ms. Alfonso?" said Sebastian very astonished

She just smiled when Sebastian recognized her easily, "You are good, because you recognized me right away" she said "Even if I don't want to, I have to kill you" she ran again to where Sebastian where to stab him but Penelope blocked her

"Do you think I'll let you kill Sebastian just like that?" said Penelope "Don't you say you've been killing women these past few weeks?" she asked as she defied Anastasia's attacks.

Anastasia smiled at her, "You're really smart Penelope" she said "Yes, I'm the only one who killed them because they always insult other women who are not as beautiful as they" she replied and she became even stronger in the fight.

Sebastian just cried when he heard Anastasia's confession, he touched the wood that Penelope threw at him again. "Why did you do that?" he shouted as he approached where they were "Don't you know that one of those you killed was my cousin?" tearfully he says "She's not like you say, at least sometimes she doesn't step on anyone because she believes everyone has their own beauty" he explain angrily. He could no longer restrain himself because of the anger he felt so he had fought with Penelope. He took the pencil out of his bag and as planned had to stab the sketchpad hidden on Anastasia's side to weaken it, when he hit the sketchpad it immediately she weakened and fell down. When she can't move while lying on the floor, he wanted to stab her with the knife because he killed the only one - a cousin of his who understands him but Penelope stops him.

"Just a minute Baste" Penelope said

Sebastian couldn't control the anger he felt, "Why are you stopping me? Don't we have to kill him?" he said angrily with tears on his eyes

"it's ot like that what you think, we all have a request we want to happen" she sat down next to Anastasia "What do you want?" she asked

While lying down and crying she closed her eyes, "I just want to have a society that has an equal view of every woman, because we all have our own beauty and have the right to have equal treatment" she replied as she recalled people insulted her for how she used to look, "Let's end this" she said as he looked up at the sky smiling.

"Sebastian, get your sketchpad and write her full name" Penelope ordered

Because she had been Sebastian's homeroom teacher for one and a half years he knew her full name, "Anastasia Corpuz Alfonso" he wrote on his sketchpad. Gradually, the body of their Professor disappeared in front of them as if she was just becoming a part of a mist.

As they looked at the sky Sebastian wondered why everything had to be like this just for something we wanted to happen, Penelope turned around and walked away when Sebastian called her,

"Penelope, I'd like to tell you something if it's okay" he said from where he is standing

Penelope stopped as she walked, "What's that?" she asked

"Teach me how to fight" he said "and then if we defeat the other chosen by the lord, we will fulfill their wishes whoever of us will survive" he added

She just smiled at what Sebastian said and approached him again and hugged him tightly. Even though he was considered for what she did, he just let it go because she saved him from death.

Looking to her "Can you promise me that?" Sebastian asked her

"Yes, I promise" she replied "I will not let you die because of them, I will protect you as much as I can" she said

While in Dreos' room, the third candle lose its light, indicating that Third had died.

It wasn't a secret to Dreos 'other person he chose because one page of their sketchpad turned red.

In the same city there are other sketchpad holders. Suddenly the surroundings cooled by the breeze as if sympathizing with the grief of others. But not many people know what happened, a few weeks later Anastasia was declared as a missing person. Even though Penelope and Sebastian know that their teacher is dead already they can't say that because no one will believe them also about the Death game.

After that incident Penelope never left him because she was afraid that someone will killed him. Because he is always with the University idol, he is being bullied even more at the University but he doesn't care anymore because he needs Penelope until this mess is over.

As they ate in the canteen Penelope asked him, "Baste, can you let me stay in your house?" she asked

He was surprised when she asked, "But why?" he asked, he looked at her straightly trying to figure out if what would be her reason for asking that

"Because Mama and Papa weren't here, they have out of town vacation because Papa wanted Mama to be treated in another country" she said "and because I was afraid that someone might attack me while I was sleeping" she added.

Sebastian wonders what Penelope really needs from him because he thinks she is telling a lie, "I'll let grandma know first if you can stay at home" he replies

In the afternoon, Penelope walked alone to go to their house while Sebastian went to a nearby bookstore to buy the necessary books that their new Social Studies Professor was required. After he bought the book, he immediately went home because he was afraid that someone might suddenly attack him on the way.

"Grandma, I'm already here!" he said as he was about to go inside. He walked towards to the kitchen to greet his grandmother to his great surprise that Penelope was there helping her grandmother to cook their dinner "What are you doing here?" he asked

Her grandmother just smiled, "You're really friends with her" she said "son, I've allowed her to live here since we have another room that is not used so it's okay with me if she will stay here and besides I love to have a daughter" she added.

He can't believe what happened but he can't do anything because he also needs Penelope in case someone attacks them. While eating, his grandmother and Penelope were talking happily. His grandmother seems to miss her daughter, his mother while looking at them . After eating, they clean up on the plates they used and he also helped clean the table and placed the plates on its shelf. After they clean up everything they went to their respective rooms and rest.

Anastasia comes from a broken family and is the eldest of seven siblings. Because their father left them she was forced to work until she could graduate some of her siblings. She accepted various kinds of jobs because she needed money to pay for the house they were renting, food, the education of some of his siblings who were studying in elementary school and to buy medicine if someone got sick. Since she does not have a permanent job, she applies everywhere with the hope that she will be hired.

She saw a poster hiring the restaurant then she attend the interview and passed it. After the submission of requirements she was hired there.

"Sir, where is my station?" she asked

"Follow me" said her new boss

As they walked, she wondered why they were going to the restaurant's garbage area where every residuals and garbage was collected;

"This is your job, you have to clean it every day" the restaurant owner told her

"But Sir, I applied for a waitress" she said "why is my station here?" she asked again

Her boss laughed at her, "Waitress? Can you look in the mirror?" mocking her "will you accept the job or not? Because if not you can resign immediately" he added.

Anastasia just bowed down crying because she needed a job she had already accepted to be a janitress. She endured that for a few months even though her boss's behavior was rude but she had friends at work until someone got her attention, he is Royce one of the kindest and most handsome in the company.

"Tasia, let's go home together" he said "we will pass my house before yours" he smiled as he told her

"Are you sure? Maybe they'll just laugh us on the road because you're with an ugly like me" she said as if she was insulting herself

"It's not like you are thinking, and then even if you look like that and at least you're kind and hardworking" he said

The two became friends and Anastasia took for so long the job because she was happy because of Royce.

One day, their co - worker has a birthday celebration so they agreed to have a drink. Because she was not used to drinking alcohol she got drunk and by an unexpected coincidence something happened to them by Royce that night.

The next day, they felt their headache while lying in the same bed. Anastasia was so cold that she wrapped the blanket around her body when she felt that only the blanket was covering her body.

"What happened?!" she shouted as if she had returned to sanity. Confused, she woke up Royce who was just next to her. "Royce, wake up!" she said to the young man in tears

"What's wrong Tasia, let's go to sleep first, my head is still aching" he said he was still very sleepy

Tasia starts crying, "Royce something happened to us last night!" she said her voice cracked from crying

Immediately the young man awoke, "What?" he asked in shock. He looked at himself but he was also not wearing anything except the blanket that wrapped him

Anastasia was still crying, "What are we going to do?" she says

Royce thought for a moment before he replied, "Look Tasia, let's just forget it happened" he said.

"Ha? Are you serious Royce? What if we have a child because of this accident?" she asked

"It's up to you, if you want to have an abortion then do it" he said "let's just forget what happened" he stood up and got dressed.

While she hugged herself and crying because she was so disappointed with what happened.

Three weeks later, everyone mocked her at work because of her appearance and there was even a rumor that Royce's friends had just bet on her so something happened to them that night. Because of that, she was forced to resign from her job and apply another job again.

Anastasia didn't choose a job anymore, for her as long as she earned money it was okay for her. So even though she has a year in college, she entered as a maid. Her new employer is kind even though their two children are also kind to her. So even though the salary is small she still does her job well.

A month later Mrs. noticed. Hortezuela as if she was having morning sickness, "Tasia, come here a minute" she said

Tasia immediately wiped her hand and approached her boss, "Why Madam? Are you going to order something?" he asked politely

"Sit down for a moment" she said and she sat down on the sofa "Are you pregnant?" she asked

She was surprised when her boss asked her, "No Madam, how did you say that?" she could barely smile as she remembered the night something happened to them with Royce

"Hija, I noticed that you have symptoms similar to those who get pregnant" she explained "and I'm worried that you might be hiding something from us" she said

She told the truth to Mrs. Hortezuela so she felt sorry for her because of what happened. The couple just helped her with all her needs even though her siblings' education up to high school was also sponsored by them. A month later she also tried to visit Royce at the house where he lived but she was surprised by what she saw.

"Royce, are you there?" she asked as she knocked on the door "Royce?" she called repeatedly as she carried the baby.

A beautiful woman opened the door for her, "Why? What do you need from my husband?" the woman asked rudely "he's not here, if you want just come back later" she added

She was about to leave when she heard Royce's voice so she raised her voice even louder so that he could hear her until he approached the door.

"Tasia, why are you here?" he asked in shock

"You know this ugly one?" the woman said to Anastasia and she just looked at the baby "don't say she's carrying your child" she said angrily

"No, how can I have a child like her ugly?" he answered immediately

Tasia was hurt by what she heard so even though Royce hadn't seen how beautiful their daughter was she left crying. She seemed to be going crazy about what happened, it was painful for her that Royce didn't accept even his child to her, she felt so much pain for the insult and for her baby that abandoned by her own father so in the evening because she was so angry, she went to the house again and killed Royce and his wife.

The next day, nothing seemed to happen because Anastasia was still behaving normally. Mrs. and Mr. Hortezuela help her to raise the child until they offer her to continue her education.

"Really? Thank you Madam and Sir" she was so excited when she heard that the couple offered her to study again.

"But Anastasia, we have a request to you for helping you this time" said Mrs. Hortezuela

"We would like to adopt your daughter, Tasia" said Mr. Hortezuela "We would like to have another child but your Madam can't get pregnant" he explained.

The smile on her lips disappeared immediately when she heard the condition of the couple but she still thought about the welfare of her child because she knew that it would be better if they just adopted her child.

She was able to go back to college and study hard, she also saved money to buy cosmetics because people often looked down on her because of her looks. She graduated from college and became a professor at a University while the family that helped her to graduate in college went abroad with her daughter.

While walking home, a man in a black hood approached her, "Mam, do you love unique beauty?" his question for her

At first she was angry because he seemed to be mocking her, "I'm sorry, why are you asking?" she asked

He handed her the sketchpad, "You can draw there your desire and your wish" he answered

Anastasia was impressed by what the man said, so she accepted it and looked at her bag for a while to get her wallet when she turned back to where the man was standing and it was gone.

When she returned to her new house, she first drew some pictures and fell asleep. When the morning came, she saw that her hands were bloody and she was wearing a mask, coat and hat. A few weeks ago, she also found out that she was the one who killed the beautiful women of the past few weeks. In her memory, those were the women who insulted the women they talked to or knew at once. When she realized this, she was even happier because the number of women who insulted her fellow women who was not so that beautiful was decreasing.

She saved money to finance her beauty. Every time she gets paid, she never forgets to buy cosmetics and skin care products, which is why she looks even better, but even so, she still can't forget who and what she is.

One day, a man with a black hood was waiting for her at her house. She was just surprised that he was already inside the house and seemed to be waiting for her.

"What are you doing here?" she asked nervously as she took the small knife out of her bag

"Don't be afraid Anastasia" said the man as he stood up from his seat "I am here to fulfill your request that all people have an equal society because you believe that you have unique beauty each of you" he explained

Because of what the man said she flinched in fear, "Who are you? Why do you know about that?" she asked

"Don't be afraid, I can fulfill your request" he said "all you have to do is kill those who also own sketchpads like the one you are holding" he added.

"Nonsense! How can a request that is impossible to happen be fulfilled" Anastasia said in her mind

The man approached her, "Your request is not impossible as you think, I can fulfill that" he said. He saw the withered flower in the vase so he made it bloom again because she believed that what she wanted could happen so she agreed to what he wanted.

She just woke up the next day lying on her bed as if a dream had happened but when she saw the flower in the vase she realized that it was not a dream. She has already arranged her stuff and fix herself to enter the University because she has a class at eight o'clock in the morning. On the way to the bus terminal she met a very beautiful woman who worked in a department store near them. She thought she was also one of the women who insulted other women so in the evening she drew again on the sketch pad and fell asleep. Just like before, she wakes up wearing the same clothes as the murderer and it is also reported that the serial killer has a new victim.

Midway through the academic year a transferred student was placed in her class, she was Penelope Cruz. When she saw her, she immediately envied the simple beauty of the student. She also wanted to take her life several times but she survived so every morning she is always angry and also wonders why Penelope is still not dying until now.
