It was getting cold in Violetmage in autumn.
"I'm 8 weeks' pregnant. The baby is Mr. Marshall's."
"Mrs. Marshall, Mr. Marshall loves me-not you. You're just his wife on paper."
"You and Mr. Marshall have been married for three years, but you don't have any kids yet. You don't deserve to be his wife at all!"
A woman dressed head-to-toe in designer brands barged inside the house, accompanied by two maids and three bodyguards. She looked down at Kallie Marshall arrogantly.
Sitting quietly on the sofa, Kallie sighed and calmly returned the woman's gaze.
Her expression was soft and gentle, and her voice was as smooth as velvet.
"And you are...?" Kallie asked with a soft smile.
The woman, Jocelyn Owen, was stunned.
As the most popular star in the entertainment circle, she believed she had become a household name. How could this bitch not know her? Jocelyn gritted her teeth, thinking that Kallie was feigning ignorance on purpose.
"Jocelyn Owen," she spat angrily. "Mrs. Marshall, please be sensible and sign the divorce agreement. Quit pestering Mr. Marshall!"
She looked at Kallie domineeringly, but to her surprise, the latter looked almost... leisurely. It was as though Kallie didn't take her threat seriously at all!
All of a sudden, Jocelyn became a little restless. Before she could say anything more, Kallie stood up with a smile, but her eyes were devoid of warmth.
Kallie strutted over to Jocelyn and started to speak slowly. "Miss Owen, just this year, over thirty women have come to me and told me that they're pregnant with Bellamy's child."
Jocelyn's face changed.
"You're not the first, and you won't be the last." Kallie was still smiling, which sent shivers down Jocelyn's spine.
Jocelyn found it a little creepy when she heard Kallie's flat chuckle. When Kallie calmly put her hand on Jocelyn's belly, the latter subconsciously stepped back.
"Wh-what are you doing? Don't you dare try to hurt my baby! I know what you're thinking!" Feeling uneasy, Jocelyn protectively covered her belly.
"Miss Owen, are you sure this child is Bellamy's?" Kallie's smile widened.
"Of course!" Jocelyn said stubbornly.
"I see." Kallie let out another lifeless chuckle. "Miss Owen, you probably don't know this, but Bellamy had a vasectomy in order to avoid troubles like this. But since you're so sure that the child is his, why not run a DNA test when you give birth to it? As you said, Bellamy and I don't have any children of our own, so the Marshall family is anxious to have an heir. We'll definitely treat you well if the child is Bellamy's."
Hearing this, panic filled Jocelyn's eyes.
"But Miss Owen, if we find out you're lying, then..." Kallie's lighthearted tone took a dangerous turn.
Her lazy, unhurried attitude suddenly disappeared, replaced with coldness. She stared daggers at Jocelyn, which made her tremble.
"Bellamy hates liars the most. Do you know what happens to those who lie to him?" Kallie stopped right in front of Jocelyn and said nothing more.
Jocelyn wasn't as arrogant as before. With her head bowed, she turned around and left quickly.
In essence, Kallie just warned Jocelyn that she could make her vanish from Violetmage without a trace.
Seeing Jocelyn leave, Kallie sighed quietly. She had gotten good at dealing with these troublemakers.
There were always women who showed up to make trouble. Initially, Kallie was scared of them. But now, she had learned how to deal with such troublemakers within ten minutes. Shooing them away was a piece of cake for her now, so she felt no sense of achievement at all at this moment.
She lowered her head absentmindedly, but after a while, she saw the silhouette of a familiar figure from the corner of her eye.
It was none other than her husband, Bellamy Marshall. The man had obviously seen and heard everything. But he had simply watched the fun; he had no intention of stepping in. It was as though the situation wasn't caused by him in the first place.
Without raising her head, Kallie sneered silently. Suddenly, the figure came closer, and then a pair of strong arms grabbed her by the waist. The next moment, she was pressed against the man's firm, broad chest.
The sickly sweet smell of tobacco wafted to her nose. Without raising her head, Kallie knew that it was Bellamy.
"Honey," Kallie greeted him in a soft voice.
Bellamy stroked her hair.
"Did you visit your mom today?" He was referring to Irene Howard. Recently, her condition had become quite unstable. She was confined to Rheingold Hospital at the moment.
Kallie nodded meekly.
The next second, Bellamy turned her around to face him. He pressed his lips against hers.
Kallie didn't resist. On the contrary, she found herself wrapping her arms around the man's neck. Realizing this, she chastised herself for being so spineless. She couldn't even stop her body from reacting to him.
The atmosphere suddenly changed.
"Remind me something, Kallie. When exactly did I have a vasectomy, huh?" Bellamy nibbled Kallie's lower lip.
"Uh," Kallie grunted awkwardly, averting her gaze. "I had to come up with something to get rid of her."
They had been married for three years, but Kallie knew that Bellamy was just using her. She had to take care of his family and deal with the women who pestered Bellamy, just like today.
There was probably no love involved, but their sex life was always really great.
"Are you dissatisfied with me?" Bellamy asked again.
After a moment's silence, Kallie shrugged nonchalantly. "No, I don't dare."
"You don't like dealing with these women?" Bellamy continued, still kissing her.
"It's just ten minutes of my life wasted. But they always resort to the same tricks. When will they give me a challenge?" Kallie pouted.
Bellamy was speechless.
Then he burst into angry laughter. He took it out on her by biting her lip again-harder this time.
The bite made Kallie wince, but she didn't dare to make a sound. Feeling uncomfortable, she couldn't help but complain, "You have so many side chicks. Why do you always come back and torture me?"
"Why, Mrs. Marshall, are you jealous?" Bellamy looked at Kallie with amusement.
Kallie was speechless.
How could she be jealous?
Annoyed, she didn't answer his question. But Bellamy couldn't hold himself back at this point.
He scooped her up and carried her to the master bedroom. The atmosphere was thick with sexual tension. It was chilly outside, but inside the room, the temperature kept rising.
There seemed to be a lustful beast inside Bellamy's body that needed to be released.
Afterwards, Bellamy let go of Kallie and went to the bathroom directly.
"Honey?" Kallie suddenly called him.
Bellamy stopped in his tracks and waited for her to say what she wanted to say. Biting her lips, Kallie lowered her head hesitantly. Bellamy waited patiently.
After a while, Kallie opened her mouth again. "Let's divorce."
The man, who was calm just now, suddenly frowned darkly. "What did you just say to me?"
"Bellamy Marshall, let's divorce." Kallie addressed him by his full name this time.
Without saying a word, Bellamy turned around and walked towards Kallie. He was born with an imposing manner. As he strode towards her domineeringly, she couldn't help but hold her breath.
But her face remained expressionless.
It wasn't until Bellamy was standing over her that she said calmly, "I saw the news. She's back."
Kallie was talking about Hanna Reynolds.
Hanna held a special place in Bellamy's heart. After all, she was his first love. As for Kallie, she was just a tool in his eyes. He was just using her to irritate Hanna. All he did was try to force Hanna to come back to him.
And now that Hanna was back, Kallie figured it was high time she and Bellamy divorced. She found it unnecessary to bring herself any more disgrace.
Kallie lowered her head and smiled self-mockingly. For some reason, she felt depressed. She couldn't tell why. She shouldn't have had any feelings about the divorce, but at this moment, she couldn't deny the dull pain in her heart.
The man standing in front of her, on the other hand, didn't say anything. He just looked at her. Under his intent gaze, Kallie's scalp tingled.
"What do you want from the divorce?" Finally, Bellamy broke the silence.
But his tone was so casual, it was as though they were just talking about the weather. Kallie took this as a sign that Bellamy didn't object to the divorce.
She looked up and smiled at him brightly, as though divorcing him was a huge relief to her.
"Just help me pay for my mother's medical expenses." Kallie's request was reasonable.
When they got married three years ago... Bellamy only used Kallie to get to Hanna, and Kallie needed the money for her mother's treatment, so it was indeed a fair deal.
Bellamy glanced at Kallie with a meaningful look in his eyes.
Even a man as aloof as he had to admit that in the past three years, Kallie had done a good job of being his wife. She had never asked for much, and the other members of his family had grown quite fond of her Kallie always knew her place and behaved herself.
Both of them benefitted from the marriage.
Thinking of these things, Bellamy kept silent for a while before finally saying, "I'll transfer this villa to your name so you can live here. I'll move out. I'll also give you a check of fifty million dollars and pay for all of your mother's medical expenses." He was very generous.
"Aw, thank you, honey." Kallie smiled at Bellamy gratefully.
Her sweet words made Bellamy feel a little better. But the next moment, when Kallie handed him the document, his face darkened again.
It was a divorce agreement.
"I've already signed it. It says that I won't get anything out of the divorce. Read it first. If you think it's okay, you can let your lawyer handle the rest." Kallie pushed the agreement into Bellamy's hand.
Bellamy took it and leafed through it with a frown. The agreement was drafted by her. But all the terms were beneficial only for him. Kallie even stipulated that after the divorce, she would not make her former identity as Mrs. Marshall public.
It seemed that she had no attachment to her title as "Mrs. Marshall". It was almost as though she was just an employee handing her resignation letter over to her boss.
Bellamy felt irritated again.
"Fine." Bellamy grunted.
It was indeed time to divorce. But it should've been him who filed for divorce, not her.
So Bellamy cleared his throat and tried to put the situation under his control. "I'll have my lawyer contact you."
Kallie nodded in agreement.
"I'll add the villa and the money to the agreement. Oh, and I don't want the other members of my family to know about our divorce in the next 3 months," Bellamy said firmly.
Hearing this, Kallie frowned. She didn't expect that she'd still have to face Bellamy even after divorce. But thinking that the other members of his family were all good to her, Kallie realized that she didn't have the heart to hurt them with the sudden divorce, so she agreed.
Bellamy didn't say anything more. He turned around and walked into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him. Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Kallie shrugged. She didn't know how she had offended Bellamy this time.
But since she couldn't figure it out, she shrugged it off and decided not to worry about it.
Tonight was no different from any other night in the past three years, meaning Bellamy didn't stay at the villa for the night. It was just Kallie and the servants who stayed.
The following morning, Kallie moved out of the villa.
Bellamy was out on a business trip, but the butler promptly called him as soon as Kallie was out the door. She had only brought her belongings. She didn't take anything else with her.
It seemed that she didn't miss Bellamy at all and that she couldn't wait to leave.
The butler kept chattering on about Kallie worriedly.
Bellamy rubbed his aching temples. All he could think about was Kallie.
Finally, Bellamy put the phone down with a heavy sigh.
A month later, in the doctor's office.
Kallie read the report in her hand, her eyes as wide as saucers. The bold letters spelled out two words, "Confirmed Pregnancy".
Of course, the baby was none other than Bellamy's.
Throughout their three-year marriage, they always used birth control. They knew from the start that having a baby together wasn't ideal, so they were very careful. That was why Kallie never got pregnant.
However, who would've thought that she'd get pregnant after the divorce? Calculating the days, Kallie realized it happened that night when Bellamy found out that Hanna was engaged to someone else, and he lost control of himself.
Kallie was also too careless that night...
Recalling this, she became more and more annoyed. Her eyes remained fixed on the report.
The doctor next to her, on the other hand, couldn't be bothered. "If you don't want the baby, you should deal with it as soon as possible."
The doctor's alienating voice snapped Kallie out of her trance. She looked up from the report calmly and said, "I don't want it. Doctor, when can I have an abortion?"
After hearing her answer, the doctor audibly sighed and quickly leafed through her record. "At least a week from now, since the schedule's already full. Why are you young people so careless these days? Don't you know how to use condoms?"
The doctor kept scolding her, while Kallie just nodded politely. Soon, she stood up and followed the nurse to the triage to make an appointment for the operation.
Then, with the appointment form in her hand, Kallie walked out of the hospital without looking back. She had only asked for half a day's leave, so she had to go back to work in the afternoon.
After work, Kallie headed home in a black Toyota. She had gotten a ride from her colleague.
She had braided her hair today, which made her look younger. Standing beside the door, she waved goodbye at her colleague, who was in the car.
Hearing what her colleague said, Kallie laughed brightly. Then she took a step aside and watched as the black car drove away. When the car was out of sight, she turned around and walked towards her apartment.
But to her surprise, a familiar tall figure was waiting at her door. Bellamy was leaning against the wall in black suit pants and a white shirt, looking like a prince.
With a cigarette pinched between his slender fingers, he took a long drag, and as he exhaled, he was enveloped in smoke.
Even from a distance, Kallie could feel the oppressive force emanating from her ex-husband.
He wasn't wearing glasses today. And as far as Kallie knew of the man, Bellamy was always way more dangerous whenever he didn't wear his glasses.
Feeling uneasy, Kallie instinctively kept her distance from Bellamy. After all, she had no idea why her ex-husband was here.
They had divorced over a month ago, but Bellamy had never sought Kallie out in that time.
"Come here," Bellamy barked as soon as their eyes met.
However, Kallie didn't respond. She just stood glued to her spot.
In her eyes, it was already decent enough of her to not have left him on the spot. She wasn't his pet or plaything. Why should she obey his orders?
"Kallie, I said come here." This time, Bellamy's voice becoming dangerously low.
Kallie opened her mouth and managed to say, "We're divorced. You have no right to order me to do anything. If you have something to say, just say it from over there."
It was a refusal, clear as day.
From what she knew, Bellamy hated it when anyone disobeyed him. She figured he'd storm off instead of arguing with her here.
However, she was wrong.
Bellamy stubbed out the cigarette and walked towards her step by step, closing the gap between them.
It was already dark out, and Bellamy's imposing figure felt suffocating to Kallie. She couldn't help but subconsciously take a step back.
But after one step, Kallie stood her ground.
"Kallie, who said you could get so close to another man?" Bellamy demanded, as though he was an angry husband who had caught his wife cheating on him.
When Kallie smiled at her colleague just now, she looked so beautiful. Bellamy had never seen her so happy before.
When they were still married, Kallie was always submissive and obedient. Even though she smiled at him countless times, the smile never seemed to reach her eyes.
It was as though she was an emotionless robot all throughout their marriage.
But now, Bellamy had seen a completely different side to her.
She turned out to be quite lively and energetic.
But she showed it to other men-not him.
The more Bellamy thought about it, the more distressed he felt. He felt as though Kallie had fooled him all these years.
Kallie smiled at Bellamy innocently. "We're divorced, remember? I'm allowed to have a new boyfriend, aren't I? Especially so since you've reunited with your old lover."
Then Kallie raised her eyebrows and continued threateningly, "Does Miss Reynolds know that you came here to see me, your ex-wife? How about I inform her now?"
As Kallie spoke, she reached for her phone in an attempt to call Hanna.
But before she could dial the number, Bellamy plucked the phone out of her hand. In a gloomy voice, he said, "Kallie, you might think we're divorced, but you're wrong."
Kallie's eyebrows shot up in surprise.
What on earth was he talking about?
They had signed the divorce agreement, hadn't they?
Without giving her the chance to react, Bellamy continued, "I haven't signed the divorce agreement yet, so we're still legally married. And since that's the case, it's inappropriate for you to get close to other men."
Kallie was speechless.
How could this be?! She thought that Bellamy would be eager to divorce her!
After all, his fist love had come back. In the past month, Bellamy had gotten back with Hanna, and the media had spread the news like wildfire.
Kallie really thought that she had escaped from the love triangle, but now, Bellamy revealed a plot twist. Didn't he sign the divorce agreement?
Goddamn it! Why?!
"The media may not know that you're my wife, but the members of my family do. What're you going to do if Grandpa hears about your affair?" Bellamy questioned her condescendingly, "I'm not so generous as to let my wife cheat on me and do nothing."
Upon thinking of the black Toyota, Bellamy's eyes flashed fiercely. "Who drove you home just now?"
He didn't want to let go of Kallie at all. He grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her towards him. Caught off guard, Kallie lost her balance and fell into his arms.
She could smell the tobacco on him, as well as his perfume. It was the same brand Hanna used.
Kallie snapped to senses. Laughing angrily, she pushed Bellamy away and sneered, "Does Miss Reynolds know that you haven't divorced?"
"Is that supposed to be a threat?" Bellamy narrowed his eyes at her.
Kallie met his fiery gaze fearlessly. "You and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. It's what's best for both of us. Sign the divorce agreement as soon as possible. Then you'll be free, and I won't have anything on you."
Kallie felt that Bellamy didn't know how lucky he was. Not only did she ask for a divorce when the love of his life returned, but she also didn't ask for anything from the divorce. She was doing her best to help him find happiness.
She didn't even want to tell him that she was pregnant with his baby. Glaring at Bellamy defiantly, she stood her ground. Even a meek rabbit would bite back when it was provoked and cornered.
Bellamy was completely infuriated by Kallie's attitude. He had never seen her like this before.
During their three years of marriage, Kallie always played the role of a submissive wife perfectly. She never refused any of Bellamy's requests. Now, Bellamy couldn't tell what her bottom line was and kept testing her.
Unbeknownst to him, Kallie was just like a flexible spring, knowing when to yield and when to bounce back. Bellamy couldn't even figure out what was on her mind.
When they were married, Bellamy thought that he was Kallie's everything.
But now, what Kallie said was such a huge slap to his face.
The more Bellamy thought about it, the more gloomy his eyes became. He grabbed Kallie's chin with his big hand and forced her to look at him.
Kallie glared back at him, refusing to back down.
"Kallie, is it because of that man that you can't wait to divorce me?" Bellamy demanded.
"You hit the nail on the head! So please don't stop me from finding happiness and just divorce me already," Kallie replied nonchalantly.
"Does he know that you've been married?" Bellamy tightened his grip on her chin.
"Oh, he knows. He also knows that I'm divorced," Kallie replied in a very casual tone.
Kallie's indifference rendered Bellamy speechless, so he could only look at her insidiously. The atmosphere between the two was somewhat tense.
Suddenly, Bellamy's phone rang, shattering the tension.
Without any hesitation, Kallie reached into his pocket and took out the phone.
In Bellamy's eyes, Kallie was playing with fire. When her small hand brushed against Bellamy's thigh through the thin fabric, he suddenly felt a burning desire in his heart.
A fiery desire lit up in his eyes.
However, Kallie's cold voice doused his desire instantly. "It's Miss Reynolds. Should I answer it for you?"
Her threat was undisguised.
Glancing at the phone screen, Bellamy found that it was indeed Hanna calling.
Unlike Kallie, Hanna was clingy and needy. As long as Bellamy wasn't around for a moment, she would be upset and keep calling him until she found out where he was.
As for Kallie, she didn't mind whenever Bellamy disappeared.
"Answer it," Bellamy said, his eyes were fixed on Kallie.
