Ridwan Ghazali's house has been busy for the past few days. Several neighbors passed around this big house. Several cars of guests who had started to arrive had even started to line up neatly along the road leading to Ridwan's house. Several relatives and friends from outside the village and the city also seem to have started coming and even staying at Ridwan's house.
Of course, it is natural because today, at the Ridwan family's big house, there will be a wedding ceremony for their only daughter, Syalaisha Ghazali, with colleagues in her office. All relatives were happy because finally Isha-the beautiful girl's daily nickname-got married after a long time of procrastination.
"Soon, the leader will come, Miss Isha. What about the groom-to-be? Can't be reached yet?" asked Dewi in a low voice near Isha, sitting with some of the bridal makeup who had done her makeup.
"Can't be contacted since this morning, Dew," Isha answered nervously.
Her face, which should be beautiful and radiant, now looks very anxious. Moreover, her father and mother repeatedly asked how Murad, Isha's future husband, was.
"Try contacting his family or friends again, Ma'am? Why, I'm worried about this. The problem is that the time for the qabul consent has almost arrived," repeated Dewi.
Isha's trembling hands immediately took the cell phone that was placed nearby and tried to call Murad again. However, the result remains the same, not active. Contacting Murad's friends was in vain because Isha did not know any of Murad's friends.
"Can't be contacted, Wi," Isha looked at Dewi, her cousin, in a panic.
"We'll just have to wait a bit; who knows if he'll contact us? Sis Isha calm down, huh?" said Dewi calming Isha, although, to be honest, Dewi herself was doubtful.
Where are the brides who can't be contacted on D-day like this? Never mind the phone; he did not even send short messages. Dewi is starting to get suspicious; could the man be absent?
Then Ridwan and his wife returned to the dressing room with faces that were starting to look angry. Ridwan saw Isha, who was also nervous, and looked at him with tears. Isha was at a loss for words to defend Murad's negligence this time because Ridwan and his wife disagreed with Isha's choice. However, they couldn't prevent Murad's presence because it seemed that Isha had fallen in love with this handsome man.
"How about this, Babe? The penghulu will be coming soon, while Murad has no sign of coming. What if you don't come?" asked Ridwan in a tone that was starting to sound high. His anxiety led to impatience.
"Sir, don't say that. Maybe there is a problem?" Rosminah, Isha's mother, intervened to neutralize the situation, which was getting hot.
"So what else should I say, Ma'am? Has this crossed the line of patience? All relatives and neighbors have come. All preparations are done and ready to be carried out. Aren't we ashamed if the bride and groom don't come?" Ridwan looked at his wife with annoyance.
"I know, sir. But this is beyond expectations. Hopefully not by accident. We'll wait a few more moments," said Rosminah trying to calm her husband's anger.
"What if he doesn't come?" asked Ridwan in a loud voice, making everyone in the room feel as if they were drugged and chose not to answer or move.
"Let's just pray for Murad to come, sir," Rosminah said patiently.
"I had a bad feeling from the start with that guy. But your son can't be told. This is the result. Everyone will be ashamed!" Ridwan started to grumble.
There was silence; only Isha's sobs could be heard. The bridal makeup girls could only be silent, occasionally taking tissues to wipe Isha's tears so they wouldn't make a mess of her pretty face.
"Already, Ma'am. Just pray that the groom will come at the right time. Hopefully, everything will be fine," Dewi persuaded while giving Isha another tissue.
The woman nodded weakly. She was disappointed and didn't know what to do-confused to death. She didn't expect the happy day she had dreamed of all this time would be shattered in a day; although it hasn't happened yet, it looks like it will happen.
"If in half an hour he doesn't come or doesn't give any news, we cancel everything!" Ridwan broke up with a firm voice, then left the place angrily.
"Dad?" Rosminah called out to Ridwan but also turned to Isha, who was sobbing more and more. She was confused about who to give priority to. On the one hand, Isha needs support, while on the other hand, Ridwan needs to be calmed down.
"Budhe calms down Pakdhe's emotions first. Let Ms. Isha be with me," Dewi finally mediated Rosminah's confusion.
"Take care of Isha for a while, okay, Wi," said Rosminah, who rushed to catch up with Ridwan, who was getting emotional. The woman rushed out. While Isha was still crying, lamenting her unfortunate fate.

If there is tension in the house, a man sits restlessly and has a very gloomy face in the rows of seats for the invited guests. His heart had been beating erratically ever since. He still held the gift as a thick mushaf neatly wrapped in a trembling and sweaty hand.
He is Malik. Isha's playmate since childhood. However, their friendship has soured in recent years. He sat alone in the back row. He is preparing his heart if Isha finally legally marries her lover.
Yes, Isha will soon be legally married to Murad. Moreover, the headmaster also came a few minutes ago. Malik knows he will be heartbroken, and his feelings will be destroyed. However, it would not be wise to show it to everyone. His parents sat beside him and patted Malik on the shoulder several times to calm their son.
"You calm down, Mal. There is a God who rules everything." Aminah, Malik's mother, gave her advice to strengthen Malik. She knew how Malik felt.
Malik just nodded, but the constant moving of his feet showed how agitated he was.
"Maybe he's not your soul mate. You have to have the courage to accept reality." Malik's father, Aiman, also gave advice.
This is a big test in his life. After years of harboring his feelings, he has to throw his heart away only to be disappointed. But he couldn't force his will on Isha. However, Isha had the right to refuse it.
"It looks like the event will disband," a guest whispered to another guest in the front row of Malik's seats. But Malik could hear it.
He gasped, immediately turned towards the guest, then looked at his father and mother.
"Disband? Disband how, Guy?" asked Malik, adjusting the position of the glasses he always wore since entering college.
"Yes. The groom has not yet arrived and cannot be contacted" answered the guest in a low voice.
Malik raised his eyes and saw that all the guests did look agitated.
"It's getting tense inside," said another guest.
Malik stood up and rushed into Ridwan's big house without thinking further.
"Mal? Where are you going?" asked his mother in surprise.
He didn't care about his mother's questions and the few people who stared at him. Malik kept on entering the house's living room, which he knew very well because he used to often come to this house. Aiman and Aminah soon followed him.
When Malik arrived in the house's living room, there was tension. There was even a soft cry that Malik confirmed was Isha's voice. Malik's determination is getting rounder.
"Mal, what are you doing?" whispered Aminah as she and her husband caught up with her vast strides.
"I have to save this show, Mom. I won't let them embarrass Isha," Malik muttered clearly and firmly.
"But Mal? They don't necessarily agree," whispered Aiman.
"We won't know if we don't try, Dad. I asked for your blessing to save them." Malik's determination is now unanimous.
Aiman and Aminah looked at each other only to give up. It's time they let Malik determine his own pace. Malik is already big and can sort out what is good and what is not. After all, Malik's steps have always been full of calculations.
"This has exceeded the tolerance limit, ma'am. I can't wait anymore. We just canceled this wedding. Let's all be ashamed. It's all because your son can't be advised!" Said Ridwan with a red face of anger.
Meanwhile, Rosminah seemed to have no other way to persuade her husband. After all, her husband was right, they had been waiting since earlier, but there was no news from Murad.
"We are going to be humiliated! We'll disband them all!" Ridwan said in an angry voice.
"Sir, why don't we wait a while first?" asked Rosminah with the same panic as her husband.
"Wait? How long should we wait for something we can't be sure of? Can't be called, can't be contacted. Should we wait for someone like that?" Ridwan scolded angrily.
"Wait, Uncle," Malik interjected.
Everyone gathered in the living room stared at Malik, likewise, Isha. The girl looked at Malik with annoyance. 'What does this man want? Do you want to be a hero in broad daylight?' Isha thought, increasingly irritated because Malik was present at the wrong time. Even Isha assumed that Malik would laugh at her. However, the tall, clean-skinned man didn't care about the stares of everyone in the room. He walked up to Ridwan.
"Malik?" muttered Rosminah with a confused look.
"Sorry if I'm being rude, uncle. I want to help so that Om Ridwan's family will not be humiliated," said Malik.
"What do you mean, Mal? This is not the right time to joke around," Ridwan asked firmly.
"I'm not kidding, uncle. Let me replace Murad to marry Isha," Malik asked firmly and confidently.
"Ha?" Malik's words amazed the whole family in the living room.
"What?" Isha's voice screamed in disbelief.
***
"No!" Isha stood up from her seat against Malik's wish to marry her. How could she suddenly marry Malik, the friend who later becomes the person Isha hates the most?
Ridwan turned his head, looking at Isha with sharp eyes.
"Isha! Yesterday you didn't listen to Father about the man you want to be your husband. And now, when someone is kind enough to save our family from the embarrassment of the man you chose, you are still stubborn? Or maybe you intend to embarrass our family?" asked Ridwan with sharp eyes.
"Sir, be patient. We can discuss this carefully," said Rosminah trying to prevent disputes between her husband and child.
"But, sir? Isha does not like him. How is it possible to suddenly marry him?" asked Isha in a high voice.
Ridwan smiled wryly while Malik's parents were waiting worriedly about the steps taken by Malik.
"Then how's the man you said you love and loves you? What has he given our family besides shame?" Ridwan almost lost his temper.
"Calm down, uncle. I want to help this family not be ashamed. If Isha doesn't like it, I can't force her, either. Sorry," said Malik politely, then intended to leave the room.
For a moment, Isha was filled with worries. Accept the good intentions of the man she doesn't like, whatever his tendencies, or refuse, which will disgrace her and her family.
"Wait!" Suddenly Isha shouted, making Malik stop his steps and look at the beautiful woman who was now even more beautiful because her makeup was so perfect.
"You called me?" asked Malik with a straight face.
Everyone in the room seemed to be holding their breath, watching the thrilling live broadcast drama.
Isha nodded. "Can we talk alone?" asked Isha with a straight face,
Malik was a bit confused but then nodded.
"I want to talk alone with my brother," Isha asked with a sad, flat face.
Although a little confused, Malik chose to nod.
"Follow me into the room," asked Isha in a cold voice, then preceded to walk into her room which is a bit back from the living room.
Malik turned to his parents as if reassuring them not to worry. Then he turned to Ridwan and Rosminah.
"Sorry, uncle, aunty. May I speak alone with Isha?" asked Malik politely.
Of course, Malik didn't want to look too daring to be in a room with women who were even potential wives of other men.
Ridwan nodded. "Speak up, Malik. I'm already dizzily dealing with that child!" said Ridwan, still angry, so Rosminah had to return to calm her husband.
"Thank you, Uncle. I met Isha first," said Malik, who followed Isha into the room to talk.
The entire family fell silent as if lost in their thoughts. Rosminah then approached Aiman and Aminah to talk maturely about Malik, who suddenly became a helper in today's case.
Meanwhile, Malik took big strides toward Isha's already closed room. Malik slowly knocked on the door.
"Can I come in, Sha?" asked Malik slowly.
Not waiting long, the bedroom door opened, and Isha's face looked so gloomy and annoyed at Malik.
The tall man walked slowly into Isha's room which had been tidied up in such a way because this was indeed a room prepared for newlyweds. Malik glanced around briefly, and his heart sank when he imagined that these preparations were almost ruined due to Murad's absence on the D-day of his wedding with Isha.
"So what does Big Brother suddenly appear in this mess? Want to be a late hero? Or to laugh at me for failing to marry?" asked Isha, who got straight to the point of their problem this time.
Receiving such a question, Malik just smiled. This girl still needs to change. Always outspoken and even tend to snap. However, Malik was not at all angry. How could he be angry at the girl who had controlled his heart since they were little teenagers?
"Why do you always think badly of me, Sha? I have no intention to laugh at you, let alone be a late hero. I want to help a little so that you don't fail to get married and your family will be disappointed. If you don't like it, I won't force anything, Sha." Malik gave a clear explanation.
"Are you sure you just want to help? It seems you are taking advantage of the situation to take advantage of my situation. As before, you took the opportunity to kiss me with the excuse that your friend pushed you!" Isha said with a red face because she still had a grudge against the incident a few years ago.
Malik smiled serenely.
"For that time, I was completely unintentional. They pushed me. So I thank you because today you allowed me to apologize for what happened years ago," Malik replied flatly.
"I've forgotten it!" Isha said curtly.
"Thank you, Sha," Malik replied gratefully because she could finally apologize for their misunderstanding in person this time.
"Then what if I refuse the favor you offer?" asked Isha.
The girl deliberately said curtly, hoping that in this way, Malik would back off and discourage him. But Isha is wrong because Malik is not at all affected by Isha's attitude. The handsome boy just smiled while adjusting his glasses.
"I just want to help. If you don't like it, I won't force you either. The decision is entirely in your hands," Malik answered calmly.
"If I accept?" asked Isha, still annoyed.
"Yes, you are my wife; I am legally your husband. Simple, right?" Malik replied casually, still with a gentle smile.
"Then what if one day it turns out that Murad comes?" Isha deliberately presents a small possibility that Isha still hopes for.
At first, Malik was surprised because he didn't expect Isha would ask him such a question. Then Malik knew that Isha was deliberately giving him many things that could ignite his emotions, and maybe Isha also hoped that Malik would discourage him from marrying Isha.
"Yes, if he comes, he still loves you, and you still love him, I will divorce you. I can't be a barrier for two people who still love each other to unite. I would be wrong to do so," Malik answered calmly, though his heart ached as he said this.
But as sad as it was, it no longer mattered now. Because Adam's priority right now is how to prevent Isha from being humiliated, and this family is also not humiliated. Malik would not have the heart to let Isha bear the shame because her marriage failed.
Hearing Malik's answer, Isha was silent and seemed to think.
"I'm not going to force you, Shaw. I'm glad I got the chance to apologize. You are an adult; you can decide which one you can be responsible for," said Malik calmly.
"Are you sure you will divorce me if one day Murad comes and wants to return to me?" asked Isha in a voice that began to soften.
Malik smiled even though his heart ached.
"Yes, I'm sure I will do it as long as it is for your happiness," Malik answered confidently.
Isha hesitated for a moment. Accepting Malik's good intentions is a dilemma because she doesn't like this man who, although handsome, has tarnished their friendship by daring to tell him he loves her.
"Cha? Malik? Are you done talking?" Someone asked while knocking on Isha's tightly closed door.
Isha and Malik looked at each other.
"Yes, ma'am," Isha answered loudly, ignoring the worry, stress, disappointment, and maybe stress because of Murad's absence today.
Malik looks at Isha questioningly because this conversation has not reached a meeting point. But Isha instead replies that their conversation is over. Malik was silent, not wanting to ask questions or have any confrontations. All of this is Isha's right.
Isha walks towards the door to open it. There, Rosminah was seen staring at the two of them with an irritated face.
"How?" asked Rosminah in a low voice. But it was clear that the woman could not hide her anxiety.
Isha glanced at Malik, then looked at Rosminah before finally nodding firmly.
"Yes, I am willing to marry Malik."
gosh!
It was Malik's turn to feel like a sledgehammer was hitting him.
***
Hearing Isha's answer, Rosminah was surprised. How could her daughter, known to be stubborn, accept the marriage offered by Malik? Even though this was probably to avoid the obvious embarrassment if it failed, Rosminah didn't expect Isha to agree so easily.
Rosminah looked at Malik, who also seemed shocked by Isha's answer. Nevertheless, Malik nodded slightly at Rosminah to confirm that they had agreed to marry. Although, I don't agree because it's clear that Isha was forced to go through with this marriage.
Rosminah smiled in relief. She immediately burst into tears seeing Isha's ability to marry Malik, even though Rosminah knew that Isha didn't like Malik. At least Isha saved this family from embarrassment because of the failure of the wedding which was about to be held.
"Get ready, boy. The prince has waited too long," Rosminah said in a voice full of tears. Between relieved and also doubtful about the direction of their marriage later.
Isha nodded. Rosminah returned to the living room while Isha turned her body to face Malik.
"We're getting married soon. But I'm not sure that this marriage will last forever. It's just that I thank you because you helped me, helped this family from embarrassment," said Isha, lowering her cloudy face.
"Yes, I know. You don't need to thank me. I'm just doing what I can do," Malik replied in a low tone.
Malik then walked towards the door, about to leave because there was a knock on the door again. And when he opened the door, Ridwan, Aiman, and Aminah were already there, looking at Malik worriedly.
"Mal? Is... is it true that you two are getting married?" asked Rodwan, tremblingly holding back the various flavors piled up at once. Between being angry because he feels he is being played with by Murad, and at the same time full of hope for Malik and Isha's approval.
Malik looked at the three parents who hoped for the answer and nodded firmly.
"Yes, Uncle. Isha has agreed to marry me," Malik answered politely.
Ridwan was greatly relieved, but not so for Aiman and Aminah. Malik's parents were still doubtful.
"Are you sure about the step you are taking, Mal?" asked Aiman seriously while Aminah waited for Malik's answer.
"I'm sure, Dad. For that, I ask for your prayers and blessings," said Malik, who knelt before Aiman and Aminah.
Aminah could not help but feel moved by Malik's firmness when making this decision. Aiman immediately grabbed Malik's shoulder and pulled him up.
"Stand up. I'm sure you've thought it through. Whatever it is, Mom and Dad will bless and pray for the best for you," said Aiman, who then hugged Malik.
In Aiman's arms, Malik nodded.
"Thank you for the prayers and blessings, Dad," said Malik in a low voice.
The handsome man then turned to Aminah then hugged the crying woman.
"Malik asks for his blessing, Ma'am," Malik said softly when his mother's arms embraced him warmly.
Amina nodded. "Certain! Mother will approve of whatever steps you take, Mal. Mother's prayers will always be with you, son," Aminah said with tears flowing.
"Thank you, Ma'am," Malik said with his chest floating with emotion, then broke their embrace.
Suddenly, one of their neighbors came from outside.
"How about this, Mr. Ridwan? Hasn't the groom come yet? The chief is waiting." Dadang, one of Ridwan's neighbors, asked frantically.
Ridwan smiled, but tears remained that had been overflowing at Malik's sincerity.
"Don't worry, Dang. The wedding will still take place," Ridwan said, soothing Dadang.
"Well, where is the groom, Pak Ridwan?" asked Dadang, surprised.
"I will be the groom, Pak Dadang," interjected Malik firmly.
"Oh? Teacher Malik will replace the groom?" Dadang asked, half in disbelief.
However, the nods of everyone before him made Dadang not hesitate anymore. Although, of course, there was a lot of astonishment in his heart.
'Well, Dadang, now you tell the prince and all the marriage registrars that the wedding will occur soon. We are currently preparing," Ridwan ordered Dadang.
"Okay, sir. I will come forward then," said Dadang, who withdrew and rushed forward.
"Malik, Pak Aiman, and Ibu Aminah... I am still figuring out what else to say about everything you plan to do this time. But I thank you sincerely because you saved my family from the embarrassment caused by the absence of my future son-in-law. Thank you again," Ridwan said with teary eyes and an awkward smile.
Aiman nodded.
"This is all purely Malik's wish, Pak Ridwan. And we, as parents, can only support whatever decision Malik makes. Let's pray together that everything will go smoothly," said Aiman.
Ridwan nodded.
"Get ready, Mal. It's not good to let the prince wait any longer," said Ridwan to Malik, who was answered by the handsome man with glasses nodding.
Ridwan then looked into the room when Malik and his family entered the living room to prepare. The man then approached Isha, who had been standing watching the drama in front of her bedroom door with a straight face.
"I'm sorry if you were rude to me earlier, Sha. You panic because this is unexpected. I hope you won't be stubborn about what Malik has done for our family this time." Ridwan said in a low tone.
Isha could only nod because this was all he could do. He had no weapon to stand up straight and put forward her will. Because Murad has destroyed everything, destroying her struggle for Murad to be accepted into this family. The struggle that glorifies love above all.
Suddenly Rosminah came in.
"Sir? Isha? How? The program will start soon," said Rosminah.
Ridwan nodded, looking at Isha and Rosminah in turn.
***
Everyone has gathered here, in front of the aisle, which is so beautiful. The guests and relatives present had also gathered impatiently. Some of them need to be more coherent about this change of bridegroom. Most of them understand and salute the steps taken by Malik to save this family. However, few mocked Malik for being stupid for being willing to replace the groom.
Regardless of the many pros and cons that arose among the guests, Dadang was able to provide information to the chief about the complications that occurred. Dadang asked that correspondence be followed up later because the most important thing was that the marriage took place. The prince finally understood and agreed with this unexpected situation.
And now, everything is ready to be implemented. Isha was already sitting with her head down behind Ridwan, facing Malik and the prince. Aiman and Aminah sat behind Malik, as did Rosminah, who sat beside Isha and Dewi as maid of honor. When the headmaster opened the program, Malik occasionally looked at Isha, who looked down and occasionally wiped her tears.
Malik's heart pinched at the sight. Malik knows this is not the marriage Isha wants. However, Malik also would not let Isha be humiliated in this way. Until finally, it was time for the qabul consent, and Malik had made up his mind. It's not about him secretly loving Isha, but it's about saving the person Malik loves from becoming the object of ridicule for canceling their marriage.
"I will marry you, and I will marry you, Ananda Arash Al-Malik bin Aiman Alaydrus, with my son, Syalaisha Ghazali, with a dowry in the form of a Mushaf of the Qur'an, in cash." Ridwan, who shook Malik's hand, said the words of consent for his daughter.
"I accept the marriage and the marriage of Syalaisha Ghazali bint Ridwan Ghazali with the dowry in cash." Malik shook Ridwan's hand and answered the consent qabul in one breath.
"How about the witness? Legitimate?" the chief asked the two witnesses on Malik's left and right.
"Legitimate!" The two witnesses answered together.
"Alhamdulillah." There were words of relief from everyone present at the venue.
However, at the same time, Isha could no longer hold back her deteriorating mood. No matter how hard she tries to be strong, her emotions are more powerful, and she can no longer hold them in, so finally, darkness approaches her.
Bruh!! Isha fainted right after the witnesses uttered the valid word.
"Isha?!" Malik rushed to his feet to help his wife and several people who were near Isha.
