Genre: Romance
Cindy planned to surprise her husband with the news she was pregnant. However, it seemed that she was the one who got "surprised" when she found out he was cheating on her with her best friend. Overwhelmed by this betrayal, she demanded a divorce and swore to herself that she would take revenge by making them pay for what they did. At the same time, thanks to a misunderstanding, she met Bruce, and all of a sudden, she saw herself trapped with the domineering CEO. Now, not only would he help her carry out her revenge, but he would also give her all of his deep affection.

Chapter 1 You're Pregnant

"Congratulations, ma'am," said the doctor. "You've been pregnant for a little more than a month."

"Pregnant?"

Cindy Cheng couldn't believe what she just heard. She quickly stammered, "I'm pregnant? Doctor, are you sure?"

"Yes, ma'am. You are indeed pregnant," the doctor reassured her again.

Cindy Cheng was ecstatic at the great news. She and Jeff He had been married for the last three years, but she couldn't get pregnant. It was only recently that she started feeling sick. At first, she assumed that something was wrong with her stomach, so she came to hospital for an examination. She didn't expect to receive this surprise.

'I almost forgot. I have to tell Jeff.' With excitement, Cindy Cheng quickly grabbed her phone and dialed his number. She called him several times, but he didn't answer.

Cindy Cheng frowned in confusion and glanced at her watch. She guessed that he was working overtime again. These days, he was always staying out so late at work because he was so busy.

Shrugging, Cindy Cheng carefully folded her diagnosis report and placed it inside her bag. She returned back home, elated with joy.

As soon as she entered the entrance of her house, a pair of slippers hit her.

"You little bitch! You still remember to come back!"

Stunned at what just happened, Cindy Cheng quickly covered her head in defense. She peeked at her fuming mother-in-law and found her grimacing in the living room. She wondered what that woman wanted this time.

Her mother-in-law, Jessica Xu, was never satisfied with her. Soon after Cindy Cheng married Jeff He, Jessica Xu decided to move in with them. She used the excuse that she would be too lonely at home. However, she always picked on Cindy Cheng's mistakes and berated her every single day for it.

Since she was Jeff He's mother, Cindy Cheng tolerated this treatment. She never quarreled with Jessica Xu for Jeff He's sake. She didn't want her relationship with her husband to be affected because of his mother's difficulty.

Suppressing her anger, Cindy Cheng calmly asked, "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

"You were gone for so long and it's already late, but you just arrived. Why don't you just stay outside all day and ignore all the housework back at home? You want me to take all your chores, right? Also, why did you buy these slutty clothes? Are you trying to seduce other men?"

While she was speaking, Jessica Xu threw something red at Cindy Cheng.

Cindy Cheng frowned and noticed that the parcel box had already been opened. She silently pursed her lips and was a little annoyed that Jessica Xu opened her package without permission.

She slowly squatted down and picked up the clothes in confusion. She didn't buy anything recently. What was this?

Cindy Cheng unfolded the garments in her hands and blushed a deep shade of red.

Jessica Xu stared Cindy's red face and became even angrier. She scolded her daughter-in-law furiously, "I can't believe that you're blushing. How can you buy these clothes? You should be ashamed!"

Cindy blankly stared at Jessica and was at a loss for words. Just as she was about to explain that she didn't buy these clothes, she remembered that Jeff had been working overtime recently, that he began to ignore her. Did he buy her these clothes so that they could rekindle their intimacy again?

She was sure that he must have done that. She recalled Jeff secretly doing something on his phone a few days ago and everything seemed to add up. At this thought, Cindy felt a happy and shy smile creeping up on her face.

"How dare you smile? You are a shameless bitch!"

"Mom, I just remembered that I have work to do back at the company. I'll be leaving now!" She didn't want to argue with Jessica anymore. Without saying anything else, Cindy placed the clothes in her bag and ran out of the door, leaving Jessica alone in the room as she spewed incoherent curses.

Cindy left the house and decided to see Jeff at his company. For the last few weeks, he barely stayed at home, leaving the house early and coming back very late. They hadn't had a good conversation in a long while. It was also probably a good time for her to inform him that she was pregnant.

Before going to his office, she drove to Jeff's favorite restaurant and bought him his favorite trotter and lotus seeds soup.

She arrived at his company and started to walk towards the elevator. However, the receptionist suddenly stopped her in a panic.

"Ma'am, Mr. Jeff is in a meeting. You can't go up, right now!"

"That's alright. I'll wait for him in his office!"

Cindy gave the receptionist a friendly smile as she was about to walk towards the elevator.

But to her surprise, the receptionist stopped her once again. She avoided eye contact with Cindy and said in a low voice, "Ma'am, why don't you head over to the sofa and wait for a brief moment. Mr. Jeff is still in a meeting."

Cindy frowned and scoffed, "No, thanks. I'll wait for him inside his office. Don't worry. I won't disturb him."

However, the receptionist insisted, "Ma'am, you really can't go up..."

By this time, the staff working upstairs were already finished with work. Cindy looked around and found a group of people coming out of the elevator to go home.

In the past, Cindy would usually come over to visit Jeff, so employees knew her. Whenever they saw her, they would always give her a warm greeting. However, something seemed different this time. They glanced at her from a distance and wore strange expressions as they mysteriously whispered to each other.

Cindy couldn't help but wonder, what was wrong with them today?

In front of her, the receptionist was still trying to stop her from going upstairs. "Ma'am, why don't you wait out here? His meeting will finish in a while."

"Get out of my way!"

Cindy glared at the woman in annoyance. She already made it clear that she wouldn't disturb her husband's meeting. She just wanted to go upstairs and wait for him there. Why did the receptionist keep stopping her?

"Ma'am..."

Cindy pushed the receptionist out of her way and entered the elevator. Before the doors closed, she vaguely heard someone saying, "Alas, that poor girl. There's definitely going to be a good show."

During the elevator ride, Cindy frowned and was filled with doubts. She didn't know what was wrong with these people. What did they mean by saying "poor girl" and "a good show"?

She pursed her lips and shook her head. Cindy decided to ignore their comments and strutted towards Jeff's office as she held his favorite soup.

Cindy pushed his office door open. Just as she was about to say, "Honey, I'm here to see you." She froze at the scene in front of her.

In disbelief, she looked at the people inside the room.

She suddenly let go of the soup in her hand. It fell and made a splashing sound before making a mess on the floor.

Upon hearing the noise, the two figures inside the office stopped what they were doing.

Jeff and a woman surprisingly gazed at her with wide eyes.

Cindy squinted and recognized the woman with her husband. It was her best friend, Lina Li.

Cindy got so upset and she felt like she was going to faint. She introduced Lina Li to Jeff a month ago because she lost her job. She wanted her husband to help her best friend find employment again, but she didn't expect that Lina Li would betray her like this.

It finally made sense to her why Jeff was recently working very late. It turned out that he just used his work as an excuse to mess around with Lina Li.

Cindy's heart sank as she thought about the strange gazes she received earlier and how the receptionist tried to stop her. It turned out that everybody knew that her husband was cheating on her, but they decided to keep it from her. She was worried about Jeff's lack of rest due to working overtime and even bought him soup. Now, she felt like a fool after finding out the truth.

"Why are you doing this to me? Why? Jeff, you're my husband. Lina, you're my best friend. Why did you both betray me?"

Cindy roared in agony and anger as she questioned the two embarrassed figures in the room.

"Cindy, it's not what it looks like..."

"So what is this? I saw what you were doing with my own eyes. I can't believe that you still want to defend yourself!"

Cindy instinctively brushed her hand against her belly. She planned to surprise him with her pregnancy. However, it seemed that she was the one who got the "surprise".

"I'm sorry, Cindy. I didn't mean to betray you like that. I love Jeff so much that I couldn't control myself around him. I'm sorry," Lina Li wept and apologized to her best friend.

Cindy sneered with venom, "Love? Lina, he is my husband. You're my friend. How could you do such a thing?"

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I know I'm wrong, but love isn't under my control," Lina protested defensively.

Cindy was furious upon hearing Lina's shameless explanation. She rushed over, pulled Lina up, and violently slapped her on the face.

Lina fell on the ground from the impact. She immediately covered her face and cried helplessly. Jeff quickly came over and helped her stand up. He gave Cindy a look of dissatisfaction and said, "Cindy, if you have something to say, just say it. Don't hit people!"

Cindy stared at the both of them and felt the tears brimming in her eyes. She pointed at her husband and demanded, "What did I do to deserve this? We've been together for six years. We didn't have anything back in college. Your family was poor and you couldn't even afford your living expenses. I worked part-time jobs to support you when you couldn't find a job after graduation and stayed at home. I was the one who earned money to support you. When you said you wanted to start a business, I gave up all my savings to help you. But, now you repay me like this?"

The tears streamed down Cindy's soft face. She didn't purposely want to threaten him with a debt of gratitude by mentioning their past. She just didn't understand why Jeff betrayed her like this after they had gone through so many difficulties together.

"Shut up! Cindy! What's the point of mentioning the past? Don't forget that I'm making money every day to support you. I'm the one supporting you now! If not for me, then you have nothing. So forget about the past."

It seemed that Cindy struck a nerve. She saw Jeff's face suddenly darken as his eyes reflected a cold expression.

"Well, Jeff, you're rich now. I guess you don't need me anymore, right? You're going to kick me out, aren't you?"

Jeff's protest ignited the anger in Cindy's heart. For last six years, she had sacrificed so much for him. She even gave up the opportunity to study abroad and was willing to be a housewife, just so they could get married. She didn't expect that her sacrifices and hard work would lead to such a shameful result.

"Don't push your luck! Don't forget that you won't be able to live a luxurious life without me. Besides, many men have lovers. I won't treat you unfairly if you continue to be my wife. Just don't make a big fuss over this."

It never occurred to Cindy that she would hear such shameless words coming from Jeff's mouth. She stared at him and found that he was just as handsome as he was six years ago. However, when she looked in his eyes, she found that they were no longer innocent like they were back in college. The man standing in front of her was now a selfish hypocrite.

"Jeff, you're so shameless! I demand for a divorce!"

Chapter 2 I Want A Divorce

Jeff sneered at Cindy with contempt, "A divorce? Cindy, you need to think through this clearly. You have nothing without me. What will you live on if we get divorced?"

"It's none of your business! I don't want to stay with someone like you anymore. I want a divorce!"

Without another word, she turned around and left. Cindy didn't want to be around them any longer. She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to control her anger and end up spitting on them.

She left the company and got inside her car, but Cindy didn't know where to go.

She had met Jeff when they were still in college. Back then, she was determined to marry that poor man. She even abandoned her family and friends just to come with him to this unfamiliar city.

For the last three years, she had taken good care of her in-laws and was always busy with housework. Because of that, she barely had time to go out for social activities. Lina was her closest friend in the city and the others were simply acquaintances.

Now that her family and her only friend had both betrayed her, she had nothing.

The sky darkened outside and the gloomy clouds rolled into view. Cindy heard the thunder cackle across the sky as the rain flooded the streets.

Her heart was as cold as the pouring rain.

She pensively started the car and wandered around the streets aimlessly.

The rain came down heavily and only a few people could be seen on the road. Everything was quiet except for the sound of the raindrops colliding with the concrete floor.

Cindy drove absent-mindedly and outside, she saw a bright red figure on the roadside in the rain.

She didn't pay much attention to it. Just as she was about to drive through the figure, her car suddenly stopped. She patted the steering wheel angrily and sighed in frustration. With a huff, she grabbed her umbrella and got down to take a look.

As soon as she opened the car door, the rain spewed on her face. It was raining so hard that the umbrella was useless in preventing her from getting wet. Her clothes immediately got drenched with rain water.

Still holding the umbrella in her hand, Cindy carefully walked towards the front of her car to take a look, but suddenly stepped on something soft. She looked down and found a toy bear on the ground. Not too far away, she found a small and pale hand.

Cindy was stunned to see a little girl wearing a red dress sprawled on the ground. She hadn't been able to identify that the red figure was a little girl because of the rain.

In shock, she dropped her umbrella. Cindy quickly ran towards the little girl, hailed a taxi and took her straight to the hospital.

She anxiously waited outside the emergency room and suddenly felt her belly twitching. Covering it with her hands, she realized that her baby inside was probably annoyed by what happened.

She quickly sat down on a chair, a burst of pain coming from her lower abdomen. It almost crushed her. She opened her mouth to call for the doctor, but the pain prevented her from speaking.

The people in the emergency room were very busy. Nobody noticed that a woman curled up in a corner seat and almost fainted because of the pain she felt.

No way! Her baby! Somebody must save her child!

At this moment, Cindy suddenly felt very lonely. She wondered if anyone would care if she died here.

Her parents had gotten divorced a long time ago and each of them had their own families. They no longer cared about her. When she insisted on marrying Jeff, they broke all relations with her and didn't bother to call her after that. She tried to contact them once, but it turned out that they had changed their phone numbers.

As for the family she had taken good care of, she had a husband who cheated on her, and a mother-in-law who hated her and wanted to see her out of the house as soon as possible.

It turned out that she had been living in a dream that she made up. Now that the illusion was broken, she finally realized that she was in a pitiful situation.

Cindy struggled as she tried to stand up, but the severe pain in her lower abdomen made her dizzy. She could not control of her own body.

She felt another wave of pain shocking her body. With barely any energy left in her, she felt her eyes roll back and succumbed into darkness.

When she woke up, she found herself lying on the bed with a needle in her hand.

Did the doctor find her in a coma?

Cindy weakly raised her hand to touch her belly and found that the pain had disappeared. She gently stroked her belly, her eyes filled with a look of tenderness and sadness.

'Baby, you're the only one I have now.'

Suddenly, the door of the ward opened and a little girl of about four or five years old ran inside towards her. With an excited smile, the girl shouted, "Auntie, you're finally awake!"

"Who are you? Why am I here?"

The little girl tilted her head innocently, which made her look very cute. "Auntie, I'm Angela. You saved me just now."

Angela? Cindy looked at the lovely girl in front of her and couldn't connect her with the cold and pale child that she found on the road.

"It's you. Are you all right? You've just recovered, so don't run around."

"It's okay, auntie. It's not a big deal."

Cindy's heart softened as she looked at her cute and angelic face. She raised her hand to touch the girl's hair and said, "That's good. I'm relieved."

Angela stuck her tongue out and ran out of the room, saying she would call for a doctor.

After a short while, Angela came back with a doctor and a tall man dressed in a suit. He was very handsome and had a strong aura around him.

Angela held the man's hand and walked towards Cindy. "Auntie, this is my father. Dad, this is the auntie who saved me."

The man glanced at Cindy and politely said, "Thank you for saving my daughter. I will pay you back."

Cindy shook her head and quickly refused, "You don't have to do that. I didn't do much for her."

She stared at his handsome face and found that he looked extremely familiar. She couldn't help but ask, "Mister, have we met before? You look familiar to me."

Before he could answer, Angela interrupted, "Auntie, my father's name is Bruce. He often appears on TV, so that probably why he looks familiar to you!"

Bruce?! She suddenly figured out why he seemed familiar. He was Bruce Xia, the youngest CEO of a financial conglomerate in K city.

Cindy was surprised. No wonder he looked familiar to her. Jeff was a big fan of his and was always talking about him. He liked to collect all kinds of news about Bruce Xia, determined to be just like him.

As she thought of Jeff, she couldn't help but feel a little depressed. She forced a smile on her face and gleamed at the father and daughter in front of her. "Oh, it's you. Yes, I've heard a lot about you."

Bruce Xia looked at the woman quietly lying down on the bed. Very few women would keep calm after hearing his name. Most of them usually couldn't wait to get close to him.

Just as he was about to respond, the doctor suddenly interrupted, "Miss, you're more than one month pregnant. How can you be careless enough to get drenched in the rain? You must be careful and protect yourself from having miscarriage! I'll prescribe some medicine for you to protect your baby. Be careful in the future."

Cindy felt scared upon hearing this. She quickly promised, "Okay, okay, I will be more attentive in the future."

The doctor measured Cindy's basic physical data and left after making sure that everything was fine.

That left the three of them in the big ward.

Angela innocently held Cindy's hand and asked, "Auntie, you have a little baby. Is it a boy or a girl?"

She pinched Angela's pink face and chuckled. "I don't know yet. I'll find out after a few months."

Angela nodded and carefully lifted the quilt carefully to curiously look at Cindy's belly.

She gently smiled at Angela's curious and childish action.

Bruce Xia's eyes softened as he saw Cindy's and Angela's intimate interaction and thought of something. After a few moments of silence, he asked, "Do you need me to notify your husband to come to the hospital?"

"No, thanks." Cindy shook her head with a bitter smile. Her husband was probably making out with other women right now.

Looking at her bitter face, Bruce Xia explained, "Angela is my only child. Since you saved her, I will certainly repay you. If you have any difficulties, please let me know."

"No, it's okay. You don't have to repay me. It doesn't matter. I just found out that my husband was having an affair with my best friend and I have nowhere to go now."

Cindy nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders, pretending to be indifferent to the situation. However, her eyes betrayed her as it was filled with sadness.

"Auntie is so pitiful! She is homeless. Dad, can she stay with us?"

Angela tugged Bruce Xia's trousers and looked up at him with tearful eyes.

Cindy felt warm inside. This little girl was so adorable, cute, and sensible!

"I'm not pitiful. You need to be a good girl. I'll come and visit you when I have time!"

"Auntie..." Angela blinked and pouted. "But I like auntie and I want to be with you."

"I like you too. But you must be a good girl. We'll definitely meet again."

"If you don't have a place to go, why don't you stay in our house?" Bruce Xia suddenly interjected, leaving Cindy confused.

She perplexedly gaped at him and didn't understand what he meant.

Bruce Xia cleared his throat and explained, "You saved Angela's life and she seemed to really like you. If you don't mind, you can stay in our mansion and take care of her. I'll pay you. How much do you want?"

Cindy hesitated, "But wealthy families like yours don't lack a nanny, right?"

"I don't like them," Angela whispered in Cindy's ear and frowned.

Cindy understood what she meant. It turned out that they had many nannies before and a lot of them were young and inexperienced. They all dreamed of becoming the hostess of the house one day. Instead of taking care of Angela, they tried a thousand ways to seduce Bruce Xia into falling in love with them. Some of the women even came from wealthy families. They deliberately hid their family background and pretended to be nannies so that they could get close to him. As for the older and more experienced nannies, most of them had the intention of helping their own daughters marry a rich man.

Chapter 3 Angela

When she was younger, Angela was diagnosed with heart disease and had always been in poor health. Earlier this evening, she fainted on the road because the nanny was too busy dressing up when she found out that Bruce would be back home. She eventually forgot to pick Angela up from kindergarten. Because of this, Angela ran outside, but got lost in the rain. Anxious and afraid, she suddenly had a heart attack.

After understanding the whole story, Cindy felt a mixture of anger and bemusement. She didn't know how to respond.

Angela shook Cindy's arm and pouted, "Auntie, please say yes. You like Angela, don't you? Come and stay with me."

Cindy couldn't decide. As a pregnant housewife, it was difficult for her to find a job. To add to her problems, she was also homeless and needed a temporary place to stay in. Angela was so adorable that she knew it was possible to take care of her.

Cindy thought for a while and gave them a shy smile. "I don't think I'm experienced enough to take care of Angela..."

"It doesn't matter. You just need to pick her up from school and play with her at home. We have servants responsible for doing the cooking and housework."

Thinking about the offer, Cindy confidently decided to accept it.

"Great! I'll finally have someone to accompany me!" Angela was very excited.

Cindy secretly stole a glance at Bruce. A small smile appeared on his cold face as he tenderly looked at his daughter.

Bruce had never been engaged, but Cindy remembered that she had watched the news when he suddenly brought back a baby girl four years ago and claimed that she was his daughter.

For a long time, everyone tried to guess the identity of Angela's biological mother. There were rumors circulating that her mother was Bruce's ex-girlfriend, Jane He, a famous pianist. However, others claimed that Angela was the daughter of a random woman he had a one night stand with. Apparently, they didn't get married because Angela's biological mother was too humble.

Whoever Angela's mother was, it was clear that Bruce really loved his daughter.

Since Angela had just recently recovered from her heart attack, Bruce picked her up in his arms and bid Cindy goodbye before they left.

Cindy wasn't seriously injured, but she had gotten drenched in the rain, which in turn, affected her baby. After getting done with the I.V., she was told that she could leave the hospital. She informed Bruce that she needed to go home and pack up before going to his mansion.

He insisted to have someone send her home, and she refused the offer at first. However, she suddenly remembered that her car had broken down on the road and didn't know where to find it. She reluctantly accepted his offer and asked him to help her find the car.

Cindy sat in the back seat of a Rolls-Royce car. It was her first time to experience sitting in such a luxurious car. Although Jeff ran a very successful company, he was not as rich as Bruce.

As she looked around the grand furnishing of the car, she felt some mixed feelings inside. She didn't expect her life to undergo such a tremendous change in just one day.

When they arrived at her place, Cindy asked the driver to wait downstairs. She headed up to the apartment alone. As soon as she entered, she found Jessica lounging on the sofa, talking to someone on the phone.

Jessica hurriedly hung up the phone when she saw Cindy enter. She pointed at her and crossly mimicked, "Oh you finally came back."

Cindy couldn't suppress her emotions anymore and felt her anger burst. She didn't understand why Jessica treated her like this when she worked hard to manage their family for so long.

"Enough is enough! You think I'm the slutty one?"

"You! I see that you've learned how to talk back, huh? You're a slut. Why didn't your parents teach you how to be a lady? They gave birth to you without educating you at all. I shouldn't have let my son marry you!"

"Don't mention my parents. I'm well-educated enough to tolerate your behavior for the last three years! Are you an educated woman?! If you are, then stop making trouble out of nothing every day!"

Without wanting to talk to Jessica anymore, Cindy went straight to the bedroom and started packing her things. She didn't want to argue with Jessica. She just wanted to leave this place as soon as possible.

Persistent as ever, Jessica followed after her and asked in a snarky tone, "What's wrong? What are you doing? You want to run away from home? Well, you get the guts right now, huh? How dare you scold me? I'll tell Jeff to teach you a lesson when he comes back!"

When she heard Jeff's name, Cindy felt her blood boil with anger. She gave Jessica a cold glance and spat, "Run away from home? I want a divorce! I have had enough of this family! I've never seen such a nasty mother-in-law like you!"

"Divorce? You bitch! You dare mention about getting divorce? You can't scare me with your empty threats about separating Jeff! Let me tell you. I'll call your husband right away. Let us see if you have the guts to ask him for a divorce!"

Cindy sneered at Jessica when she took out her phone. "Then call him! Your son has been having an affair with another woman behind my back! Let us see if he even has the gall to accuse me of anything! Call him as soon as possible!"

"What did you say?" Jessica froze in shock.

She stood where she was and for a long time, Jessica didn't say anything.

Cindy rolled her eyes disdainfully. "Go on. Call him. Why are you being so silent?"

"You... Even if Jeff has another woman, it was normal in the past for a man to have several women and wives. He earns money to be able to support you every day and now you're making a fuss because he found someone else. Why don't you just keep quiet and continue living a carefree life?"

Cindy scoffed after hearing this. Jeff and Jessica were truly family.

"Then what am I to him? Why didn't he find another woman back in college when he could barely afford eat? He could have relied on them to live on instead of me!"

Cindy was tired of arguing with her. It was difficult to reason with a woman like Jessica. She lowered her head and continued to pack her items in the luggage.

She deliberately ignored and tried to mute Jessica's chatter in front of her. She stood up and looked around the house where she and Jeff had lived for three years. Every place in the house carried the sweet and bitter memories of their marriage.

The past was so sweet, but the painful reality finally revealed itself to her.

Cindy suddenly felt a regretful feeling bubbling inside her. If she hadn't married Jeff and come with him to this city, then perhaps she would have had a completely different fate!

"You've just come back, but now you're going to leave with your things. Have you found a man outside? Are you going to live with him? Perhaps you also have an affair."

Seeing that Cindy wasn't responding back at her, Jessica continued to angrily curse her.

Cindy didn't want to argue with her, but she couldn't stand Jessica's domineering attitude.

"Can you be any more shameless? Have you ever thought about my feelings, besides from being partial to your dear son? Do you know how much I've done for your son over the last three years? How much I've done for this family? Why are you still not satisfied? I now want a divorce, but you still won't let me go!"

Jessica was very angry with Cindy. Her daughter-in-law had always been so obedient and this was the first time she ever talked back. With a fuming voice, she spat, "You've been married to Jeff for three years, but you can't even have a baby! We're going to lose the bloodline because of you! What's wrong with him having another woman? You can't even give him a child! Do you really want our family to have no descendants?"

Cindy trembled with fury at her shameless attitude. "I'm the one who can't have a baby?! Well, guess what? I'm pregnant right now! Besides, it isn't even my fault that I can't have children. It's your baby son who has a problem! The probability of getting pregnant is only eight percent because of his infertility!"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Jessica looked at Cindy in disbelief. She couldn't accept the fact that her son had fertility issues.

Jessica narrowed her eyes at Cindy and scolded, "You're such a vicious woman. How can you slander Jeff like this? If Jeff can't have a baby, then where did you get the baby in your belly? Oh, I see. Jeff isn't the father, right?"

Cindy's eyes burned with rage when she heard this. She finally understood how unreasonable her mother-in-law was. Quarreling with her would only make her feel sick!

She hurriedly placed her belongings into the suitcase, picked it up, and left the room.

However, Jessica wouldn't let her go. She followed close behind and continued to insult her.

Ignoring her, Cindy quickly descended down the stairs and got inside the car.

Jessica was shocked to see her get inside the luxury car. She rushed over to open the door, but Cindy had already locked it.

Jessica kicked the door again and again. She violently cursed, "Damn you! It seems like you've already hooked up with someone else!"

Cindy looked through the window and saw Jessica throwing a tantrum outside. She didn't understand why she had tolerated that vicious woman for three years.

"Let's go," she demanded. The driver stepped on the accelerator and immediately took her away from the place that had once brought her happiness. Now, it was only filled with painful and regretful memories.

Not long after she left, her phone suddenly rang. She picked it up and saw that Jeff was calling her. Jessica must have informed him about what had happened.

She wanted to ignore it, but quickly changed her mind to see what Jeff was going to say.

As soon as the line got connected, Jeff's angry voice came through.

"Cindy! What's going on? Mom just told me that you left with a rich old man! You are pregnant with that old man's child, right? I can't believe that you betrayed me!"

When she heard this, Cindy knew that Jessica had probably exaggerated the story. She rolled her eyes and didn't bother to explain. She coldly replied, "Does that have anything to do with you? We're going to get divorce either way!"

"Shame on you! I'm the one making money to support you. How dare you betray me? My mother was right. I shouldn't have married you!"

Although she had already made up her mind to separate him, he was still the man she had deeply loved before. When she heard his harsh accusation, she couldn't help but feel sad.
