Chapter 1 Having to Be Away Again

Jasmine had just returned home, looking tired from working all day. She walked to the pantry and poured some water into a glass. Then she gulped it down.

"Are you home?" The exclamation startled Jasmine so much that she coughed.

"Yes, I came home this afternoon. You look tired," said the man standing not far from Jasmine in casual home clothes.

The man was Sean Fernando Gultom, the husband of Jasmine Elmeyra Wiratama.

"Yes, I have a lot of work to do at the office," Jasmine replied.

"Have you eaten?"

"Not yet. Have you eaten? I will cook something for you."

"You look very tired. We'd better order some food," Sean said.

"Alright, I'll order it." Jasmine ordered food for their dinner. Jasmine walked away from her room, leaving Sean alone.

---

Jasmine came out of her room and approached Sean, who was arranging the food in the minibar.

"It's here," Jasmine exclaimed, looking more refreshed.

"Yes. Come sit down," said Sean, who was now sitting on a chair. Jasmine followed Sean and took a seat opposite Sean.

They ate quietly.

"I have another flight tomorrow. It might be a while now. I will be in Brazil for a while," Sean said, stopping Jasmine from eating.

"Again?"

"Yes. I'm sorry I haven't been with you in a while," Sean said with a regretful look on his face.

Sean was a pilot for an international airline. His schedule was very busy, and he was often away on business for a while. He didn't even return home for a month.

"How long is it this time?" asked Jasmine.

"Maybe two months," said Sean.

"Two months? Is that not too long?" asked Jasmine.

"It can't be helped," said Sean.

Jasmine could only sigh. It couldn't be helped.

Jasmine and Sean have been married for 10 months, and they have known each other since childhood. Sean and Jasmine were childhood friends; they grew up together and liked each other as adults until they decided to marry each other. But somehow, their home life wasn't as beautiful as they imagined. Sean always leaves her and is rarely even home. Jasmine is currently working as the managing director of her mother's company.

"It doesn't matter, does it?" exclaimed Sean, holding his wife's hand.

"It can't be helped. I can only wait for you," Jasmine exclaimed. "When are we going to have children like this?"

"Just be patient for a little while longer. I will definitely be stationed here henceforth. It's just that for the first few years, I have to be willing to be stationed in some distant places."

"Alright. Don't forget to keep in touch with me," Jasmine said.

"I will."

"I can't drive you because I have a meeting tomorrow morning," Jasmine said.

"No problem. Tonight we will spend some time together," Sean said, making Jasmine smile.

---

Jasmine rested her head on Sean's firm chest. Both of them were naked and had just finished their nightly activities to express their longing for each other.

"After I get back, shall we go on a vacation to the villa?" Sean said.

"I'll clear my schedule then. I miss the times we vacationed there. Riding horses together, swimming, fishing, and picking fruits in the fields," Jasmine chuckled, raising her head to gaze at her husband's handsome face.

"Yes, we will do all that as we celebrate our first wedding anniversary," Sean exclaimed with a charming smile.

Jasmine nodded her head vigorously. Sean pulled Jasmine closer to him and kissed her gently on the lips. He rolled over and laid on Jasmine's body.

"Ready for another round?" teases Sean, making Jasmine chuckle.

"Tsk, you're always so energetic," Jasmine chuckled.

"That's because you always turn me on," Sean exclaims and resumes his activity.

"I will miss you so much."

"Me too. I'll be waiting for you," said Jasmine.

***

Jasmine had just come out of her meeting room. She walked towards her room with her cell phone out.

Sean

I'm leaving now. You take good care of yourself; don't skip meals; and rest. Don't get too tired at work.

Jasmine smiled as she read the message from her husband. Sean was indeed a caring and warm husband.

"What's next on my schedule?" asked Jasmine as she sat in her oversized chair. A woman stood in front of her, obscured by a table.

"There is nothing scheduled until 1:30 p.m.You must come to the project site."

"Alright. Let's leave at 11 and have lunch outside," Jasmine said.

"Okay."

Jasmine had just arrived at her mansion. She gazed at all the rooms in the mansion that looked deserted and empty. Sean had frequently left her alone. But today she felt so claustrophobic and lonely.

Sean was so busy, but he was a gentle, warm, caring man. Sean's presence always comforted Jasmine, and she always felt at peace around him. Sean knew Jasmine well, and he always knew what Jasmine needed.

Jasmine walked to the pantry and approached the refrigerator door. There were some post-it notes stuck there. She picked up one of them.

Don't drink too much alcohol.

Don't eat instant food.

Maintain your diet and get enough rest. Don't overwork yourself.

I've done all the shopping and stocked the fridge, so you can cook easily.

"This guy," murmured Jasmine, smiling.

Jasmine opened the refrigerator door, and sure enough, it was full of food. Even the beer bottles had been replaced with milk and fruit juice.

"Gosh, he really is," Jasmine complained. But there was one bottle of beer in there that Sean had kept.

Jasmine took the bottle and brought it to the minibar with a glass filled with ice cubes. Jasmine poured the beer into the glass and sipped slowly as she sat down on the chair.

"Ah, will I ever be able to survive being away from you like this?" Jasmine lamented, taking another sip of her drink.

Sean, on the other hand, was just about to take a flight. He was bribing the co-pilot and some of his other coworkers, who would be flying together. Afterwards, they got ready and boarded the plane. The night was getting darker and later. Sean was sitting in his seat and had his earphones on. He communicated with someone through his earphones and started the flight.

Sean flew higher and higher and further away from Jasmine. No one knows what will happen when couples are far away from each other.

Chapter 2 The Difficulty of Enduring Longing

Jasmine had just finished showering, and she smiled at the large picture on the wall. It was a portrait of when she and Sean got married. Both Sean and Jasmine were smiling broadly.

Jasmine remembers their time together as children. Sean was the son of one of her mother's friends. He was five years older than Jasmine. They were neighbors back then, and they often played together. Sean often taught her many things. Even when she didn't want to go to lessons, Sean eagerly taught her and gave her private lessons. She did not expect that the man she had adored and liked for so long would become her husband today. Her home life is quite happy, even though Sean always leaves her because of his work as a pilot.

"You've only been gone for a day; I already miss you. How could I wait for two months?" Jasmine murmured.

Tring tring

At the sound of her cell phone ringing, Jasmine quickly picked up her phone and smiled widely at the video call from the man she had just been thinking about.

"Hi."

"Hi."

"What are you doing? Why are you still wearing a towel?" Sean exclaimed. "You want to tease me, hm?"

"I just finished showering. It's still early here; there's only a few hours difference between us," Jasmine said. "You just got home?"

"Yes, I just got to the guesthouse. It was quite a tiring flight this time. The weather was pretty bad."

"But no problems on the flight?" asked Jasmine, taking a seat on the side of the bed.

"That's for sure. Nothing is difficult for Captain Sean," Sean exclaimed confidently, making Jasmine chuckle.

"Mine is a great husband," said Jasmine in a spoiled tone, making Sean chuckle.

"Have you had breakfast?" asked Sean.

"Hmm, not yet. I've been thinking about you," said Jasmine.

"Why did you miss me?" said Sean.

"No!" replied Jasmine, turning her face red.

"Tsk, you can't lie. I know you miss me a lot already," Sean exclaimed.

"Then do you miss me too?" asked Jasmine.

"Of course I did. There is nothing noisy and bothering me here," Sean exclaimed.

"Tsk, that's not missing. You feel at peace without me," Jasmine exclaimed.

"You got it."

"Sean!"

Sean laughed at Jasmine's adorable pouting face. His wife, despite being a CEO, was firm in front of others. In fact, Jasmine was known to be a cold and stern woman. But only to Sean was she spoiled and still very childish.

"Yes, I miss you a lot, mine."

"Really?" exclaimed Mine, trying to show a relaxed expression, but Sean could see the red tinge on her face. He was always amused by the various expressions his wife showed.

"Alright, I've seen you. Now I want to take a shower and rest." Sean exclaimed.

"Okay. I'll get ready to go to the office," Mine said.

"Don't forget breakfast."

"Okay. Have a good rest."

"I love you," Jasmine said, and Sean just smiled at her.

The call ended. Jasmine was silent for a moment. Every time she said love, Sean just smiled and didn't say anything back. Sometimes Jasmine wondered if he loved her or not. But Sean's behavior seemed to show that he cared about her too.

"What the hell am I thinking? Obviously Sean loves me too," Jasmine muttered as she got up from her seat.

Sean came out of the guesthouse wearing his t-shirt and jeans. He walked to find something to eat. The streets were crowded and full.

He walked into a restaurant and ordered a meal there while ordering coffee to relax for a while. Sean played with his cell phone. He has a business without Jasmine knowing. He initially participated in the stock inversion program. Actually, Jasmine had given shares to him, but Sean refused. He wanted to find success by himself without anyone's help, especially his wife. Sean's family was not as rich as Jasmine's.

Sean examined the stocks, which were getting higher and higher in value. And he already had 45% of the shares of a large company. At first, he only invested a little, and over time, as the value of the stock rose, the profit he got was even greater. And now he was quite satisfied with his achievement.

"Ah!" someone shrieked, turning Sean's focus, who was staring at his cell phone screen, to the source of the sound. Outside the restaurant was a woman who was being forcibly pulled by three men.

"Let go of me!" the woman screamed.

Sean's conscience could not allow violence to happen in front of his eyes. He got up from his seat and left the restaurant.

Sean followed the men who took the woman. They turned into a small alley.

"You think you can get away from us, huh? Take her to the boss!" one of them exclaimed.

"Please don't," the woman sobbed fearfully. Her face was bruised.

"Beg the boss," laughed the men.

"Let her go!" Sean exclaimed, making them all turn towards Sean.

"Don't interfere. It's none of your business!" one of them exclaimed.

"You can't force him like that," Sean exclaimed.

"Please, help me!" the woman sobbed. "They want to sell me. Please!" the woman sobbed.

"Shut up, you b*tch!"

just as one of the men was about to hit the woman. Sean immediately launched his kicks and fought against the three men.

He finally managed to knock all three of them down.

"Are you all right, Miss?" asked Sean as he approached the woman, who was sitting against the wall in fear.

"Te-thank you," she mumbled and fell unconscious.

"Miss-?"

Sean took the woman to a nearby hospital. The woman was dehydrated as well as starving. There were several bruises on her body, both new and old.

Sean was empathetic enough to see the condition of the woman, who was still lying on the gurney.

The sound of the phone ringing awakened Sean, who was focused on seeing the woman lying on the gurney.

"Hello."

"...."

"I'm out-" Sean walked out of the room and spoke to someone on the other side of the phone.

The woman blinked her eyes when she heard the sound of the door closing. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around the room.

"Where am I?" she muttered.

She looked around the room and stared at her IV hand.

"It looks like I'm in the hospital," she muttered.

"Are you awake, Miss?" The exclamation made her turn to the source of the voice, and she remembered it was the man who helped her earlier.

"Thank you for helping me," the woman exclaimed.

"No problem. You just need to rest," Sean said.

"Would you like to contact your family?" asked Sean, and the woman shook her head.

"I have no family. I'm a loner," she exclaimed.

"What exactly happened? How did you end up dealing with those thugs?" asked Sean.

"It was," the woman struggled to say.

"There's no need to answer that if you can't say it. Now get some rest," Sean said.

"Thank you very much, Mr.?"

"My name is Sean."

"Mr. Sean. I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't helped me," the woman cried.

"It doesn't matter. What is your name?"

"My name is Narmia. You can call me Mia," Mia exclaimed, making Sean nod his head.

"I'll call the doctor to check on your condition," Sean said as he left Mia.

Chapter 3 Helping a Woman

After a few days in the hospital, Mia was finally allowed to go home. Sean took Mia to a hotel where she was staying.

"I've reserved a room for you. My room is in front of yours. If you need anything, you can call me," Sean said as they arrived at the door. "Here's a cell phone for you to use."

Sean handed Mia a new cell phone. Mia accepted it reluctantly.

"It has my contact information on it. If there's anything, you can call my number," Sean said. "And for safety, I ask you not to leave the room. Stay in the room, because I may have work for a few days and won't be here. But I have given directions to the security at this hotel. So you are safe here."

"Thank you, Mr. Sean. I will do as you say," Mia exclaimed.

"Alright, you go to your room and get some rest," Sean said as Mia nodded.

Mia entered her room, and so did Sean, who entered his own room. Sean's cell phone was ringing, and the name 'Mine' was displayed on the screen. It was a video call.

"Hello," Sean said after receiving the call.

"Hi. What are you doing?" asked Mine from the other side.

"Resting in my hotel room. Are you still in the office?" asked Sean as he looked at the room where Mine was.

"Hmm," Mine replied.

"Why aren't you home yet?" asked Sean.

"Lazy. It's lonely at home without you anyway," Mine exclaimed. "What am I doing there?"

"Go home and rest. Don't push yourself too hard," Sean advised.

"Sean."

"Hmm," Sean replied.

"Did you miss me?" asked Mine.

"Why do you ask that?" asked Sean.

"Why am I asking the wrong question? I'm your wife." Mine exclaimed, a little annoyed, making Sean chuckle a little.

"Yes, I miss you, because you're my wife," said Sean.

"Then if you weren't your wife, wouldn't you miss me?" Mine said it still in a sulking tone.

"I don't know what to do. I'm not used to missing a woman who isn't my wife," Sean replied casually.

"Tsk, you unromantic guy," Mine grumbled.

"Have you eaten yet?" asked Sean.

"Maybe when I get home, I'll stop by to buy some food. Have you eaten yourself?" asked Mine.

"Not yet. Maybe I'll eat at the hotel restaurant later."

"No flight schedule?" asked Mine.

"I have a schedule tomorrow morning. Now go home and get some rest. Don't get into the habit of staying up late," said Sean. "Take care of your health."

"Alright alright. I'll turn it off already. Bye."

The call was disconnected.

Elsewhere, Jasmine got up from her seat after putting her cell phone into her bag.

"Huft, what a flat husband!" Mine grumbled.

"Are you going home, ma'am?" Her secretary asked.

"Yes. You go home too!" Jasmine exclaimed and walked towards the elevator for the officials.

As evening approached, Sean invited Mia to have dinner together. Sean had reserved a private room for them.

Mia was quite surprised by the food menu arranged on the table. She almost drooled. She had never tasted food like this.

"Eat it!" Sean exclaimed, making Mia look at him.

"Why, you don't like the food?" Sean asked.

"No, it's very appetizing. I've never eaten food this delicious and luxurious," Mia exclaimed.

"Then finish it," said Sean.

They both enjoyed their dinner in silence, and only the clinking of spoons and knives could be heard. Mia kept stealing glances at Sean. Sean's face was enough to make the women mesmerized, and they could not look away.

"What's wrong?" asked Sean, who realized that Mia had been stealing glances at him.

Mia immediately answered with a shake of her head.

"I have work tomorrow morning and will spend 2 or 3 days. You stay in your room, and meals will be delivered to your room by the hotel staff. And tomorrow morning, one of my colleagues will deliver several pairs of clothes for you to wear," Sean exclaimed.

"You're going to leave me alone?" exclaimed Mia, looking scared.

"Yes, because I have work to do," Sean said.

"But what if the criminals come back and take me?" exclaimed Mia, looking anxious.

"You don't have to worry. Your safety here is guaranteed. The owner of this hotel is my best friend, so you are safe here. The important thing is not to leave this room or hotel. You just stay in your room," Sean said.

"But you will definitely come back here and won't leave me alone, right?" Mia asked hopefully.

Sean remained silent and finally opened his voice. "I will come back here. But my tenure here is coming to an end, and I have to return to my country," explained Sean.

"I beg you, Mr. Sean. Take me to your country; don't leave me alone; I beg you," Mia exclaimed, linking her hands together in an attempt to plead.

"I already have a wife. I don't want her to misunderstand," Sean explained.

"You're married?" asked Mia, stammering.

"Yes," Sean replied, leaving Mia speechless.

They ended their dinner and returned to their room without speaking to each other again.

Jasmine was busy typing something on her laptop. Until her cell phone rang, she stopped what she was doing and accepted the incoming call.

"Hello,"

"Jasmine...?"

"Yes, who is this?" asked Jasmine.

"It's Sania."

"Oh, Sania Jonelle?"

"Yes. Uh, are you really married to Sean?"

"Yes, why? Where are you now? I haven't heard from you in a while."

"I'm in Brazil right now. By the way, yesterday I saw your husband Sean in one of the hotels."

"Yes, he was working there," Jasmine replied.

"But Mine..."

"Why?" asked Jasmine.

"Duh, but don't get angry."

"Why?" asked Jasmine, getting curious.

"You know, last night I had dinner at a hotel, and I saw Sean there. And he was with a woman," explained Sania.

"A woman? I must have just seen the wrong one," Jasmine chuckled, denying it all. She knew her husband very well, who was also her best friend.

"Seriously. I knew you wouldn't believe me, so I took a picture. That's why I sent it via email. Check your email."

Jasmine disconnected the phone. She immediately opened her email on her laptop. She was shocked to see Sean walking with a woman.

"This can't be," Jasmine muttered, covering her own mouth.
