Woke Up When The World Ends

Holding a bottle of a muriatic acid, I stare at it in a daze. Hah, just as I thought... I am afraid to die. Guess I am a big fat coward after all. Damn this life!

Being shrun by the world, I even wonder how I am still living by now.

'Hey, how long will you stay there? Mother was worried you know? The photoshoot for my graduation picture is tomorrow. Cheer me up okay?'

It was from my little sister. She sent it yesterday. Maybe... she was now at the pictorial. Even if I am older than her... she is much loved since she is a good daughter. She is the favorite child. Unlike me.. who is the trash of the family. The black sheep. Someone who is at the age of having a family yet, here I am, living my life like a heavy weight in this house.

Sometimes... I wonder if I really belong in this place. I feel like something is not right. No matter what I did... I would always feel like this is a place where I don't belong.

Throwing the bottle of a toxic out of my grip, it is yet another day of me failing my suicide. How many times have I done it before? I can't even count.

Cutting my pulse, hanging myself, drinking medicine, inhaling lots of smoke, taping my mouth and nose, banging my head on the wall, no matter what I did... it always end in one outcome. Just like before.... I always fail.

I shouted out of frustration.

Holding the cursor of my computer, I am here to play again. Playing to divert my attention. Playing to escape this bullshit called reality.

"Why is it loading so slow?"

A semi loud bang was heard as I hit the mouse lightly from my hand to the table. It doesn't take this long for it to open. Did they have a maintenance or what?

Seeing the screen showing the logo of my favorite game, the game who is the only one that caught my interest like this, It was nostalgic at some point.

That was the name of the game I was playing. It was a gaming with lots of features. Who knows how long it takes for them to create it. Even so, just like a treasure that sink deep beneath the ground, hindi until a worthy treasurer came- this game doesn't really hit sky rocker.

I sometimes wonder if it is only me who plays this game. After being addicted in this... I supported it since its first release. And unluckily, after all those years- This is the first time ever thay this game would make me encounter this kind of situation.

"Why does it takes too long?"

I stand up from my sit feeling irritated. The wifi connection was good. The storage isn't full. So what's wrong? Is it on maintenance?

Clicking and clicking on the buttons on the screen, a notice suddenly shows.

[Dear Player, the journey sure is long. We do hope that you have fun in your adventure. Behold, the fun doesn't meet its end. It was just starting.]

There was a frown on my face. What does it mean by that? I have never encountered notice like this...

Suddenly, a countdown appeared. It is as if something is bound to happen. I frown my head.

"What was this for? I don't get it..."

Mumbling to myself, I can't understand why did this thing is showing. There was a tight feeling in my chest somehow.

Why... why does it feel weird. Well, never mind that. Maybe they just do some upgrade on the game. Trying to calm myself, I tried to think that way.

As soon as the number hits zero, the screen suddenly turns black. It was just a second though.

"That was weird"

I thought to myself.

Clicking the cursor, nothing changes. It seems like, the system shut down. I remove the tab of it and click it back. But it isn't working.

Frowning my forehead, nothing changed. No matter how mad I get, this wouldn't change anything.

"Hah..."

I mumbled in annoyance. Wait, maybe there is an update? Going to the app store, something I never once imagine fall in front of my eyes. Yes. the game doesn't shows.

"What the..."

There is no use. It seems like it shut down its system.

A brief of silence filled the surrounding. Honestly, that fact haven't yet sinken on my mins yet. Just... how did...

Leaving my computer I jumped on my bed. A loud creek was head. Ah, I sometimes forgot how heavy I was. My eyes was in daze. What did I just saw? I did what I can but the app won't work. There is no use. Staring at the ceiling, I'm bored. I still can't believe that the game I like was turned down. Maybe it would solve and fix itself after a small nap. Right?

Now, what should I do now?

Maybe I should just sleep. Yeah, that would be good. That is the only thing I can think of.

Tons of notifications suddenly appeared. Maybe that was the message from my parents. It was now time to eat after all. Well, who cares. I would prefer sleeping than eating.

'Brother!! Are you inside the house??! Don't get out. You hear me? Do not leave your room!'

I've been wishing to see the world end... but why do I felt this way now I see it for myself?

Running as if my life depends on it, every alley and corner I turned into, I tried my best not to slip and get caught. Hah, it seems like I would pass out due to exhaustion any time soon!

Never once in my life did I run away like this! Damn it!

With this fat body of mine, surely there is no hope! How can a shut in person like me can even do running in laps. I thought that I was strong a while ago but it seems like I was just over reacting.

A sudden stuck of horror suddenly run up to my skin as I jolt sitting on my bed from my deep slumber. I can never deny how worried I felt after seeing such sight.

"What was that for?"

I mumbled slightly ruining the style of my hair. Surely, there was a bed hair on it. But even so, It didn't let me be bothered.

To think that I can experience such thing... I didn't even imagined it. Hah... What a scary nightmare . I dreamed that the game was shut close. Hah, lucky that was just a nightmare. If so... that would be real bad.

Standing up so happily as I know it was just a nightmare, my body was left frozen. As stone for the result that imI saw after I open my computer.

"I think... I need some water"

Looking at the corner of my room, I saw nothing but an empty pile of water bottles. Even the tumbler that I owned was open empty. There was no water to be seen on it.

Hah, I have no waters left in my room. Maybe I shall get some from the kitchen?

Closing my eyes I felt the feeling of slacking off.

"hev ho"

Saying those words just after yawning, I collected myself to stand up and went out. I feel heavy thought but what else can I do? That is how my life is.

A sudden change of emotion fall upon me. What should I do now?

My room was basically the basement of our house. I choose it for myself, after all, I hate seeing people. In here, every corner are closed. Well, except for the fact that there are tiny ventilation that was installed. Enough for me to breathe. Enough for me to live my life in here for quite a long time.

Smelling something funny, my forehead suddenly arched frowning.

"What the?"

I almost cursed as I saw how there was a big light that was enough from me to think that this place was ripped open. But just like whatbI thought... my door to the outside of my room was wrecked gone. If not for the pile of who know what kind of thing it is, blocking my path, then... my room would be completely open.

"Fuck?"

Cursing as my forehead frowns, it leave me no choice as nothing change on the scenery that I just saw.

Slapping my face, I thought that I was still dreaming.

Did someone demolish our house? We are not in debt right?

Taking a gaze on the outside, it seems so weird. Looking at the old watch on my wrist, it was late afternoon. Almost the time for employees to get back home. Maybe that is why the whole sky was having that color. But... the way it was dark like that, it was weird...

No, the very moment my door disappeared, it was already weird!

Putting my arm on the small space, I tried to push away the large plywood that was hindering me from going out. It was heavy, seems like something was covering it from the top.

'What the, can't this thing disappear already?!?! What a headache!'

Suddenly, the sound of my stomach rumbling was heard. I am not just thirsty for I am also hungry. Hah.... I need to get out of here as quickly as possible to get food.

"Eh"

Surprised by how sudden that thing moves, I almost let myself be taken from it's fall.

"Was I this strong?"

Mumbling those thoughts, I can even seem to believe on it. Maybe that was just so light which makes me feel easy to remove it.

'Let us not mind it for now. There are more important matters to discuss'

Right, that thing isn't even on par with my problem right at this moment.

"Why is our house like this??!"

The sky that can be seen wide open, The ground that was in a total mess, things around me fully wreacked to fragments, just what the fucking hell happened to the earth??

Looking at the furnitures, none of them even survive. The refrigerator that was placed in the kitchen, it was crumbled disfigured.

"Who... what in the world did this?"

It looks just like the game I always play...

This is impossible. It is far beyond my imagination. Never once in my life did I think that this is capable to happen in reality

With full of thoughts on my mind, I can't help but look around analyze the things that are happening in front of me. Everything is in mess. All the furniture are smashed into pieces. I can barely say that this is even a home, it looks just like those buildings that was hit by the apocalypse.

Wait... apocalypse

This must be some kind of a joke if I may say. A sound of plate crushing was heard. It was from the cabinet that was hanging, it seems like it lose its screw which led those utensils to lost their balance. Trying to analyze the real reason on why this kind of thing is happening, I was lost in the idea that even I myself is in danger.

" What the whole maker crab shrimp shark!!"

I jolt in surprises as I saw a sight of a creature that is flying in the air. Almost loosing my balance due to shock, it's shadow can be seen covering the whole place of where I was standing. There, right before my eyes I saw the creature that was once told to be extinct.

Yes indeed, it is a dragon. There... living and breathing in flesh. A real dragon whose having a wide wings that makes him fly high up in the air.

"Woah... that... was... a... dragon..."

Being amazed by what I saw I didn't realize how this is not the time for me to be amazed about such things. That this kind of thing can kill a human in an instant. Yes, indeed, it was a terrible disaster. For sure it would be a threat for me, no, not just me but also for this whole world where people are all living in peace.

Little did I know that this kind of thing isn't the whole scenery, but just a glimpse of a gigantic disaster that is yet to come.

Looking around, I saw no sight of any human being that can be on this place. It was quiet. Not unlike those times I would be forced to get out. There was no people talking to each other. Or even vehicles that are creating noises. I know that this is the house of us but then it was as if some things crashed it whole.

Why did this kind of thing even happen in the first place? I was left with no answer as I walked pass through those ruin glasses and bricks that was beneath my feet. Looking at how wrecked our house had become, there was a slight horror in me thinking whether my parents are doing well.

Are they doing alright? Are they safe somewhere?

We may not be that close just like what they are towards my sister, but still they are my parents...

Leaving that thoughts behind, I then saw the ruined picture frame of us four that was taken years ago. So they also saw this picture as a decoration? I never know that they would do this. Well, it makes me be surprised for a little since I know for sure that the only picture that they would hang are those picture of them together with my little sister getting achievements from her school.

Do I sound so jealous? Well, it is not that I am...

My thoughts was then disturbed.

I hear some strangely familiar sound. Where did I get to hear that again? It seems like I forgotten about that but really... that sounds is something that I already heard of.

And so, a strangely familiar phrase suddenly echoed on my head as if someone is telling it to me.

'They say that when there is darkness there is light but when there are two dinosaurs, there is fight'

I ducked as I bend my knees hearing that loud sound getting louder and louder as time passes by. Joined with how the ground suddenly make a rumbling sound, it is as if some big creatures are running towards my direction.

And just like what I thought, just like what the phrase says, two creatures, a dinosaurs that is head taller than me come running to my direction as they crash bang to each other.

Wait, wait, wait, two dinosaurs? I know that I just saw big big dinosaur flying in the air just a while ago but ... for me to see them in a sight where they are so close to me ... I can help but feel really reallyy reaalllyyy scared!!!

They are running towards my direction!!!

"Ahh! Don't go after me! Don't- Ahh!!"

On the contrary of what I just shout over to them, they come chasing after me as they hear my voice shouting. Maybe I should just said that "come and chase after me!" so that they wouldn't do just as what I said and leave. Right?

No, there is time for me to think about that

If just a while ago they are fighting over each other, it seems like they already teamed up for them to come and chase after me. What did I just do in my past life to experience such things! I know that I am a bad son for my parents but this is something that is far beyond those redemptions that I must give-

Running and running, I should thank myself for not wearing a socks on my slippers even though I always do those acts. Ah shit! Are my slippers supposed to get ruined just like that?!?

I almost lost my balance but luckily, the surroundings was so narrow making it hard for them to catch me. Damn it... wearing only one slippers maked my feet hurts so bad!

I shout as I gulp the last saliva that I have in my mouth. Even though I feel thirsty just a while ago, seems like those kind of feeling suddenly rush out of my body just now. I can still feel my head sweating so hard as I was running for my life.

Did I make the right choice of leaving my room? Maybe I should just stay there and don't leave. But... but... I didn't know this is the one that was waiting for me right after I get out of that damn place!!!

It seems like I belittle this two creatures. Wait, it was the two of them chasing after me... right? So why is it only one just now?

I question myself as I didn't see the other dinosaur that was running after me just a while ago. Where did the dinosaur go? Did he feel tired and just keep on chasing after me?

I was so caught up with my thoughs not realizing that right in front of me, that dinosaur that I was looking for is waiting for me to run into his mouth.

The dinosaur that is chasing from my back suddenly fasten his pace as he wanted to catch up with me. With that, my eyes finally landed in my front of where I was running into. There, I then saw the sight of that dinosaur waiting for his meal to run inside his belly

"What the fuck!"

I shouted almost hitting a high pitch as I let my whole body slid on the ground.

Woah, maybe I could be a good singer if I survive in here...

Bump bump bump- Ouch

I then bounce and bounce on the ground as I slide just like a small kid playing on a playground.

Looking at the sight of the dinosaur who was looking at me, I saw him take a peek at his feet as I smoothly slip passes on his whole body.

A loud banging sound was heard as it echoed all over the place. I can feel my feet hitting a metal thing that seems to open itself due to the force that I had made creating when my body hit its surface.

"Eh?"

I was left surprise as I didn't know where that tunnel would lead me. But still, I was left horrid as I see nothing but darkness on that side.

Wait, wait! Wait AHHHHH!

And there, my mind was filled with nothing but the absence of light.
