Wiping Out My Ex's MC: The Mechanic Heiress and Her Reaper King

Author: Youran Qianwu
Genre: Romance
For three years, I was the backbone of the Iron Cross MC. I hand-built their custom fleet, tuned every engine with my bare hands, and spent a fortune from my private trust to keep my husband, Jarret, out of federal prison. My reward? Jarret rode back from the border with a pregnant roadside mistress on his fender, faking "amnesia" to strip my colors and steal my multimillion-dollar workshop for his unborn bastard. I didn't cry. I didn't beg. I walked straight into my shop and yanked the master breaker, plunging the entire compound into pitch-black desert heat. Overnight, I called in a military convoy and stripped the garage down to bare concrete-leaving those ungrateful bastards with nothing but rotting meat, dry taps, and dead beer lines. When I returned only to retrieve my late father's legacy blueprints, the starving, cornered club ambushed me with drawn guns: "Sign over your entire inheritance, or you won't leave alive! The Grand Council will never save a mechanic bitch!" Before the words even left their mouths, the heavy oak doors exploded off their hinges. Clemente "Ghost" Whitaker-the West Coast's deadliest Reaper President-burst in with forty heavy armored cruisers, slamming the Grand Council's official Decree of Absolute Severance into Jarret's terrified face: "Every single dime belongs to her. Touch her, and you die." Cornered and desperate, the mistress staged a bloody fake miscarriage, throwing herself down the stairs. Blinded by rage, Jarret snapped and whipped the heavy steel slide of his Glock across my face, crushing my cheekbone in a spray of blood. Did I break? Not a chance. Wrapped in Ghost's warm, bloodstained sheepskin coat, I wiped the copper from my lips, pulled an encrypted military satellite transponder from my boot, and whispered my final kill order: "Execute Phase Four. Liquidate the compound at sunrise. Leave them with nothing." And as the convoy tore into the night, I caught a glimpse beneath Ghost's open collar: a tarnished brass butterfly tag gleamed against his chest... The exact keepsake I pressed into the hands of a dying boy I pulled from a fire ten years ago. The wolf I saved has returned as the King of the Underworld.

Chapter 1

Danielle Byers POV:

"Three years of marriage, and you forgot who gave you everything you have, Jarret."

I ran the oiled cloth along the serrated teeth of my father's custom Damascus folding knife, keeping my breath steady and my voice dead even. A cold, humorless smile touched my lips as the tempered steel caught the dim light of the garage.

My husband was bringing a pregnant bitch home today.

The distant, low-frequency rumble began as a vibration in the concrete floor beneath my steel-toed boots. Within seconds, the heavy roar of fifteen twin-cam Harley engines rattled the cracked windowpanes of the Iron Cross Clubhouse. The air in the valley was thick and suffocating, rolling off the California highway carrying the stink of scorched motor oil, burning rubber, and dry desert dust.

Inside the common room, three unpatched Prospects scrambled across the grease-stained floorboards. They kicked over empty Coors bottles and rushed to heave the heavy double oak doors open before the road pack pulled into the gravel lot.

I slid the knife into the reinforced pocket of my canvas work pants, wiped my grease-stained palms down my heavy leather apron, and stepped onto the raised wooden porch.

At the head of the formation sat a customized matte-black Street Glide.

Jarret Aguirre, my husband and the President of the Iron Cross MC, swung his heavy leg over the saddle. The worn leather of his cut creaked under the weight of his three-piece patch. The top rocker read Iron Cross, the bottom read California, and right over his chest gleamed that arrogant One-Percenter diamond badge he loved to flash like a medal of honor.

He didn't look at me.

He completely ignored me - the woman who had built his custom six-speed transmission by hand, tuned every fuel map on his bike, and, last winter, handed a Riverside bail bondsman thirty-two thousand dollars in cash to get the men closest to him out of county lockup.

Instead, Jarret reached toward his passenger peg.

A pair of bright red platform wedges touched the dusty gravel.

A blonde girl in shredded denim shorts and a tight vest slid off the rear fender. She rested one hand over her softly rounded belly, which looked about six months along.

She couldn't have been older than twenty-two. From the look of her, she was just another fan and roadside admirer Jarret had picked up while riding through the Sonora scrub, someone who had followed his reputation long enough to become his latest mistress.

A fresh tattoo of a black rose wrapped in barbed wire curled up the side of her sunburnt neck.

She hooked her acrylic nails through the armhole of Jarret's cut, leaning into his side with practiced, theatrical helplessness.

Behind them, several older patched members exchanged uneasy glances. A few hang-arounds began muttering under their breath, sensing the storm brewing in the yard.

I stood at the top of the timber steps, my spine rigid, the midday sun burning the back of my neck.

"Jarret."

My voice cut through the fading engine idle like a shotgun blast.

Jarret flinched. His shoulders tensed beneath his cut before he slowly turned his head. His eyes darted away, stepping sideways to block half the girl's body.

"Dani..." Jarret stepped forward, reaching out a hand to pat my shoulder like I was a stray dog.

I took a half-step back, letting his hand slap empty air.

The blonde curled further into his ribs, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness. "Oh, Jarret baby... is this the Dani you told me about? The one who sweeps the shop while the real men ride?"

She drawled out the word sweeps like she was tossing spare change at a motel maid.

I looked down at her smeared mascara and cheap gold chain. "Shut your mouth, Sweetbutt."

The girl gasped, cowering into Jarret's chest. "Jarret! Make her stop! She's threatening me!"

"Watch your mouth, Dani!" Jarret barked, stepping up the first stair with his brass rings flashing in the sun. "She saved my life in Sonora!"

"Saved your life?" I scoffed. "By bouncing on your backseat with a swollen belly while cartel scouts shot out your taillights?"

A dry snicker broke out among the older veterans by the fence, though a sharp cough quickly swallowed it.

Jarret's face turned purple. "I took shrapnel to the skull! The blast scrambled my memory-I lost chunks of the last three years! Dariana hauled my ass out of the ditch and nursed me when I didn't know my own name. She's carrying my blood, and she's getting patched in as my primary Old Lady today!"

Dead silence fell over the yard.

I stared straight into his sweating, bloodshot face. There wasn't a single surgical scar on his thick skull.

Over the last eighteen months, thirty-two thousand dollars had been siphoned in clean wire transfers from my business account to an offshore debit card in Tijuana. He hadn't lost his memory. He had found a young whore to flatter his ego and faked an injury to shove me aside and steal my workshop.

"Amnesia?" I let out a single, venomous laugh. "In your goddamn dreams, Jarret."

I turned my back on him and walked toward the heavy steel fire door of my private workshop, Iron Forge Customs.

"Dani! Get back here! We need the shop safe combination!" he roared.

I stepped inside, slammed the three-inch industrial steel door, and threw the deadbolt.

The familiar smell of motor oil and welding flux greeted me. I walked straight to the primary breaker box mounted on the brick wall. My fingers curled around the heavy red master lever that controlled the primary power grid feeding the Clubhouse, the bar taps, the industrial freezers, and the compound water pumps.

With one hard yank, I slammed the lever down.

Outside, the stereo system died instantly. The heavy hum of the central generators cut out with a dying whine, followed by a chorus of furious curses echoing through the sweltering desert heat.

Chapter 2

Danielle Byers POV:

The morning air inside the Clubhouse smelled like warm piss, rotting meat, and unwashed bodies. With the main power cut, the desert heat had already turned the common room into a rancid oven.

I pushed open the corridor door, the ungreased brass hinges screaming against the dead silence.

Jarret was sprawled across the cracked vinyl sofa in the center of the room, his heavy arm draped possessively over Dariana's bare shoulder. Three unpatched Prospects stood awkwardly by the dead commercial coffee pot, sweating through their dirty flannel shirts in the dim morning light.

Dariana saw me first. She immediately clamped both hands over her lower belly, letting out a pathetic whimper as she burrowed deeper into Jarret's side.

"Jarret... the meat in the fridge spoiled, and the tap water is shut off. It was so suffocating in the back room without the AC... the baby is kicking from stress..."

Jarret shot up from the cushions, his face flushed purple with rage. "You're out of your goddamn mind, Danielle! You cut the power and water on a pregnant woman! That baby is the future of this whole charter!"

I walked past the empty pool table, keeping my hands resting casually in the pockets of my canvas vest.

"The future of the charter? A kid fathered by whichever cartel runner bought her drinks in Sonora?"

"You jealous, dried-up bitch!" Dariana shrieked, springing upright on the sofa and dropping her fragile act instantly. "This is Jarret's heir! You're just bitter because you couldn't give him a child in three years!"

I didn't raise my voice. I pulled a thick manila envelope from inside my vest and slapped it flat onto the dusty glass coffee table.

Eight-by-ten glossy photos spilled across the glass surface with a sharp crack.

In every shot, Dariana was wrapped around a different man in various dive bars across Baja. In several, she was draped over men wearing rival club cuts. None of them wore an Iron Cross patch, and the timestamps were dated less than four months ago.

The two Prospects craned their necks to look, their eyes bugging out before they quickly stared at the floorboards.

Jarret stared down at the photographs, his jaw clenching violently. He smashed his fist onto the table, sending the pictures fluttering across the rug. "This is bullshit! She was working undercover to keep cartel scouts off my back! You don't know shit!"

"Great," I said coldly. "Then let's take her down to the county clinic in Riverside right now. Ultrasound and blood test to check the dates. Right now, Jarret."

Dariana's mouth snapped shut. The fake tears froze on her cheeks. She grabbed Jarret's wrist in pure panic. "Jarret... she's trying to stress me out so I miscarry... don't let her touch me..."

"Enough of this crap!" Jarret roared, stepping over the table to loom over me, his foul, sour breath hitting my face. "Hand over the master keys to the Iron Forge vault. Right now. Dariana needs an Old Lady ceremony, and we need five grand in cash to buy custom leather and restock the bar."

"The Iron Forge vault belongs to the Byers estate," I replied. "Every dollar in that safe is legally mine."

"Everything you own belongs to this club because you wear my fucking colors!" he barked, reaching his heavy hand toward the collar of my vest.

I didn't wait.

I stepped inside his reach, caught his right wrist, and drove my thumb deep into the nerve cluster below his thumb joint while twisting downward.

Jarret let out a choked grunt, his knees buckling until he slammed down onto one knee on the dirty floorboards.

"Keep your hands off me, Viper," I whispered.

I released his wrist with a shove and unclipped the heavy brass ring of vault keys from my belt loop. The metal clinked loudly in the dead-quiet room.

Jarret lunged forward on the floor to snatch them.

With a smooth flick of my wrist, I hurled the heavy key ring straight out the open sash window.

A wet PLOP echoed from the ditch outside-right into three feet of festering black mud and rancid oil runoff.

"What the hell did you do?!" Jarret scrambled to the window, staring down into the sludge in absolute disbelief.

"You want my inheritance? Go dive in the grease trap for it."

Dariana stood shaking by the sofa. Jarret whirled on me, veins bulging in his forehead.

"You're done, Danielle! I'm calling a Church vote! We're stripping your title and seizing the shop under emergency club bylaws!"

I wiped a speck of dust off my canvas sleeve. "Call your Church. Tell your men their President has to beg his wife for grocery money because he blew his border haul on a stripper."

As I walked out the front door, a beige Lincoln Town Car swerved into the driveway.

Evelyn Aguirre-Jarret's mother and a self-appointed charter widow-had arrived.

Chapter 3

Danielle Byers POV:

Evelyn stepped out of the Lincoln, smoothing down her leopard-print blouse with long, manicured acrylic talons.

Jarret and Dariana came tumbling out of the clubhouse like starving dogs running for scraps. Dariana clutched her stomach, sobbing dramatically as Evelyn caught her in an embrace, glaring across the yard at my shop doors.

I picked up the thick stack of red invoices from my desk, tucked my folding knife into my boot, and walked down the iron spiral staircase.

I hit the button on the control box. The steel rolling shutter groaned as it rolled upward with a shriek of grinding chains.

"Danielle! You have zero respect for the founders of this charter!" Evelyn screeched, ducking under the metal before it was even waist-high. She stormed in, trailing Virginia Slims smoke and cheap floral perfume.

"Respect is earned on the asphalt, Evelyn," I said, leaning back against the steel workbench. "You haven't touched a throttle since your husband wrecked his Shovelhead thirty years ago and left you with forty grand in credit card debt."

Jarret shoved his way past his mother, puffing out his chest. "Watch your tongue! My mother is a charter widow! She came here to protect the Aguirre bloodline!"

Evelyn put on a sweet, poisonous smile. "Dani, darling... we all know you're bitter because of your biological shortcomings. But Jarret is the President. He needs a boy to carry the patch. Dariana is giving this club an heir, and it's your duty as the senior Old Lady to provide for the child."

"Get to the point, Evelyn. My coffee is getting cold."

Dariana peeked out from behind Evelyn's shoulder, her eyes full of petty malice. "Evelyn says... for the good of the brotherhood, you must sign over fifty-one percent of Iron Forge Customs to Jarret. As a trust fund for our baby."

I threw my head back and let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "A trust fund? For a kid conceived in a twenty-dollar motel while Jarret was hiding from cartel debt collectors?"

Evelyn's face curdled into pure hatred. "You belong to this club! Your father died in federal custody, and this club took you in! Everything you built here was done under our patch! That makes this shop club property by blood right!"

"Blood right?"

I picked up the thick stack of red invoices and hurled it directly into Evelyn's chest. Loose pages fluttered across the concrete floor.

"Look at the numbers!" I roared, stepping nose-to-nose with Evelyn. "Three hundred and forty thousand dollars over thirty-six months! I paid your clubhouse mortgage! I paid the property taxes, the electric bills, the food delivery, the bail bondsmen, and the legal fees!"

Two Prospects lingering near the door stared at the loose papers around their boots. A kid named Toby picked up a receipt with wide eyes. "Holy shit... sixty grand to the state tax board last October?"

"Drop that, you idiot!" Jarret lunged, ripping the receipt from Toby's hands and tearing it to shreds. "She faked those books! She's trying to sabotage us!"

I stepped past Evelyn and stopped an inch from Jarret's face. "Every commercial account tied to my name was frozen at eight this morning. The Byers estate is done funding your freeloading charter."

Jarret's eyes went completely wild.

His hand dropped to his waistband. In a split second, he whipped out his Glock 19 and leveled the black muzzle straight between my eyebrows.

"Unlock those accounts right now, bitch."

The whole shop went dead silent. Even Dariana took a terrified step back toward the door.

I didn't flinch. I took one full step forward, pressing my forehead directly against the cold steel of the barrel.

"Pull the trigger, Viper." My voice was a dead, lethal whisper. "Put a bullet in my head in front of four witnesses, and watch the Feds seize this compound for commercial fraud before sunset. Shoot me, or get the fuck out of my shop."

Jarret's hands began to tremble. His knuckles turned bone-white.

He was a coward who hid behind a leather cut.

I raised two fingers, shoved the barrel away from my skull, and turned my back on him. "Pathetic."

Evelyn grabbed Jarret's arm in a panic. "Jarret, put that away! Dani, let's talk-"

I hit the red button. The heavy steel shutter began its slow descent. "Get out before I drop three tons of industrial steel on your Lincoln."

They scrambled backward into the gravel, cursing as the iron slammed down.

I picked up the desk landline and dialed Doc Strickland-my father's oldest mechanic friend.

"Doc. Bring the flatbeds and the boys from the armory. We're clearing the machinery tonight."
