Will forever last

7pm, one alluring night.

While everyone were in a rush to go home to meet their loved ones or to kiss their beds, Ava reeves was on her way to a restaurant to meet a date she met online. Tired she closed her eyes but she got there in no time and the driver informed her of their arrival , she paid her cab fare and highlighted getting ready to enter the restaurant.

She entered the restaurant and found her date, a tall man with broad shoulders and a stoic face waiting for her at their table, with her heart pounding she walked towards the table and brought out her hand to introduce herself once more and he returned the favour.

"Let's just cut to the chase Ava, do you want to get married"? Ava was stunned and couldn't find her voice, "You're really funny haha" ava laughed then she looked at him and he just stared at her "I'm sorry but this is our first time meeting , I can't possibly marry you, heck I don't even know you" ava responded, "it doesn't have to be a marriage with love in it , it's a marriage of convenience and trust me you'll benefit a lot" Curtis said.

Ava heaved a sigh of disappointment and stood up to leave but Curtis stopped her "please I'm begging you, we can get divorce whenever you want not just right now" Curtis said

"Why are we even talking about marriage on our first date " ava cried " why do I keep meeting freaks?"

"My nana actually picked you for me, I've never been on any dating app, she set this one up in hopes of meeting you, I've never really had any time for relationships and she's been hassling me "

Curtis pleaded, " ok fine , but if you're not a good person then I'm not staying with you for long"

" that's fine, I'll try my best , see you tomorrow at city Hall then. A bright light from nowhere shone on Curtis and just then Ava immediately stopped eating to admire the god infront of her , " damn this guy is cute" ava thought.

By 9pm they bade their farewells and departed leaving ava wondering how her life will look like going forward.

The next day , Ava woke up grumpy forgetting she had something important she was going to do then by 7:30 am she remembered and rushed to dress up before arriving at city Hall.

By the time she arrived, Curtis was there already, waiting for her. They entered inside city Hall with their documents and registered their marriage, Ava was gloomy because she was wondering what she got herself into and almost went into coma when she saw Curtis's grandma , she was the lady she saved from choking on her food almost a year ago and her neighbour in her apartment.

"Nana, what are you doing here?" Ava asked

"Oh dear , I'm here to see you and my grandson finally getting married, you know dear , I've been preparing for this day for almost a year now" Ava was beyond shocked but swallowed it and was a little relieved it was nana Grace , her neighbour

"But how are you living close to me ?" Ava wondered , "worry no more dear, its now in the past" nana Grace laughed

Ava nervously looked at curtis before asking, "well now we're married i guess I'll have to give you your space since you did it for nana Grace. However, I have two simple requests I hope you can promise to abide by."

"Speak!" Curtis responded tiredly as walked down the stairs.

"Firstly, unless you have no choice, do not reveal our relationship. Secondly, do not interfere in my personal matters. Do not worry, since we are married, I will never get close to another man."

After listening to Ava's requests, Curtis gave a slight smirk. A dangerous aura swept through the air, "I promise you but, after I give you some time to tidy up your past, I want us to have a trial marriage. After 3 months, I will publicly announce our marriage."

"Very well then" Ava nodded.

"Also...I don't believe a married couple should live separately! I'll give you a day to pack all your belongings and move to a place of my choice. My assistant will be in touch with you."

"Your assistant?" " well no problem then "MR BIG SHOT" haha ". Since they were now married, a request like this was reasonable. So she agreed with him besides she was tired of paying rent

"Good!"

After the two made their verbal agreement, Ava and curtis left to their various destinations. Curtis's assistant sat himself in the driver's seat and looked at Curtis through the rearview mirror, "President, shall we return to the office? Or would you like to return to the mansion to tell the chairman the news?"

"Follow Ava and report her every move to me!" Curtis ordered before stepping out of the car, "she seems very free spirited like she's lost something she can never recover"

As the president of an international enterprise, of course it was weird for him to marry someone on the first date. But he agreed with his nana after seeing her because she looked peaceful and she was beautiful so it wasn't really an issue.

Curtis chuckled suddenly, his nana really had a good eye for good things or in this scenario a good woman , she didn't seem to have any issue so he was cool with having her around.

Ava arrived at her boutique that morning but it was open already all thanks to Mia, her best friend, they were both owners of the boutique and they sold high quality wears for all genders.

Ava and Mia have been friends since their university days and it grew stronger with time, Mia was more of the extrovert while Ava was an introvert with a self esteem of 4 , so Mia was her backbone.

"Ava , where have you been ?, I've been calling non stop and why are you putting on white, that's not the colour for today haha" Mia asked while hugging Ava

"Mia I just got married" Ava replied , Mia burst out laughing "I just got married" Mia mimicked but looking at Ava she knew she was saying the truth and she wondered " To whom then, you don't have a boyfriend " Ava then explained what happened to Mia , Mia was puzzled but still supported her bestfriend.

Ava proceeded to rest and spend the rest of her day thinking of what will happen going forward and when it was time to go home she got a call from her father, Jeffrey

When she picked it up, his weak voice echoed "Ava, how are you?"

"I'm fine papa, how are you?" Ava replied "never been better dear" her father said laughing "I'm on a hike, you know, trying to exercise more"

"Dad" Ava called "yes dear " Jeffrey replied " I love you" was all she could say and then they proceeded to have a little discussion about their family members

In all honesty, Ava had never realized she was so brave - she had actually married a stranger! But, what was done was done, she would never regret her decision but she still couldn't tell her father bacuse to be fair, she did tell Curtis not to tell anyone.

While heading out , she spotted a car and with a strong bulky physique and a cunning personality.

It was Curtis , but why was he waiting for her.

She went over to tell him not to worry but she had a ride home already

"You're my wife now , we have to live together, where do you think you're going to" he said cunningly

"Ah! This dog " but he was right

"Can it wait ? My things are still in my apartment and I need time" Ava replied

"They're at my place now , don't worry, I had my assistant pack the things you'll need from your home , your landlord was so kind so you will come with me"

"Let's go home, wife"

When Mia came out , she almost had a heart attack

"Are you married to Curtis young?" Mia asked still in shock

It still didn't make sense to Ava because she's never heard of the youngs before now

" Mia you know him? Well we're heading home now so I'll see you tomorrow "

The bade goodbye to each other with Mia still shocked but happy for her friend

While in the car, Curtis looked at Ava and wondered how she hadn't heard of him

But quickly dismissed the thought

"Wife, tonight is our wedding night" Curtis said smirking

A look of horror quickly filled Ava's face , how could she forget the fact that married couples consummate their marriages

Curtis smiled...." Don't worry, I don't expect you to and will never force you" Ava heaved a sigh of relief when she heard this. When they got to his place , it was a very big mansion.

They came down from the car with Ava's mouth in agape "This is yours?" Ava asked

It was too big for one person to live in "it's possible we won't see each other for days " Ava laughed while the workers ushered them in , the house was dark so Ava and Curtis just went upstairs

Curtis showed Ava her room and went to his room , it was beautiful and Ava couldn't stop being in awe , it was 5 times bigger than her room, "this place is a castle" "is this a dream?" Ava thought rubbing her eyes

She quickly went to take her bath and couldn't stop being in awe of the place , she sang while taking her bath , singing the song her mom taught her and when she was done she went out of the bathroom and quickly dressed up.

"Whoa, they even arranged my things" Ava said smiling but she couldn't wait to jump on the bed to sleep because of how tired she was from today but then she heard a knock on the door

"Madame , your food is ready" Mrs hades said

At that moment Ava's tummy growled and decided to have a little bite just to satisfy the hunger a little bit.

....when she went downstairs, it was just her so she quickly rushed to eat so she could sleep and when she was done she thanked Mrs hades and rushed upstairs to sleep.

At that moment, Curtis's phone rang and it was Melissa, his childhood friend calling so he picked it up and her voice echoed "Curtis, Hey"

"Hey" Curtis replied

"I will be back by tomorrow can you pick me up" Melissa said pleading

"Sure, no problem just tell me when"

"You know, it's been long we've seen each other, let's catch up , I'll tell my parents i'll be staying with you, just for a few days " Melissa said dreamingly

"No, you can't stay with me" Curtis replied and Melissa was beyond shocked

"...why? Don't you miss me " she said laughing and Curtis ended the call.

Melissa knew Curtis well enough , or so she thought but why wouldn't Curtis let her stay, he let her stay other times Melissa thought "or has he seen someone he likes, that's impossible, it's either me or no one" Melissa said menacingly.

On the other end , Curtis was reminiscing about his marriage, he never wanted to be like his father and decided not to get married and just focused on the company but life played its part with the help of his nana whom he loved so much so he could not refuse.

He was no longer a child and believed he could control himself "I guess I'll have to know with this trial marriage then" he said yawning but from this moment this became his greatest fear.

6am the next morning,

Ava got up and did her morning routine, then headed downstairs and finally saw the living room , she was in awe and was admiring the space when Mrs Hades greeted her "Good morning madame" but Ava shrugged feeling old "please can you not call me Madame, I'm just 23 years old anyway pleased to meet you, and you are?"

"Jovita Hades" Mrs Hades replied smiling and Ava smiled back "Good morning Mrs Hades, nice to meet you too"

"Is Curtis awake yet?" Ava asked and Mrs Hades answered politely "He went for his morning run

"Gorgeous and fit " Ava thought before hitting her head "ok thank you" Ava replied back

While on his morning run, Curtis received a call from his assistant, John informing him about Ava's background

"She comes from a good background but her mum died when Ava was 8 and her Father never remarried"

"How did she die?" Curtis suddenly asked

"She was murdered by some thugs " John answered

"Look into it and get back to me " Curtis ordered

"Yes boss"

In the mansion, Ava looked around for a bit and found a spot for a garden then went to get breakfast, Curtis entered the house, looked at Ava and Mrs Hades then went upstairs to freshen up.

When he was done he went downstairs to get breakfast and while in the middle of his breakfast Ava came downstairs getting ready to head out

"Ava"

His voice echoed and Ava slowly turned "let me drop you off" he said

"Oh thanks but don't worry I don't want to be a burden to you" Ava replied making Curtis frown

"Let's go" he insisted and they both left to join his car instructing Jim the driver on their locations

"You know, you really don't have to do this" Ava said

"You're my wife, of course I have to" Curtis replied indifferently.

The rest of the drive was mostly silent and they finally got to her location and dropped her off, while heading to the company he ordered Jim to be Ava's driver and personal bodyguard and when Jim dropped him off he went back to Ava's

As Curtis entered the company everyone greeted him ,"Good morning boss" he replied and just walked to his elevator heading to his office. When he settled down his secretary, Mona, came to drop a file and without looking up he sent her away

"Is Mr Young married??, I saw a ring on his finger" she asked and they were shocked , but they hadn't heard anything from the media so they weren't sure

"Maybe its a promise ring" someone said and they all laughed

When Mona left the office , Curtis sat back on his chair looking and spinning his ring

This was a lifetime decision he took because of his grandma and since his nana had a good eye he decided to give love a chance, but what if she doesn't reciprocate?, what if she had a boyfriend?, he didn't ask but John never mentioned anything about it

He didn't even ask about her family , all these questions made him doubt his decision thinking he was a bad person not knowing anything about her but then , she didn't know anything about him,

Heck, she didn't even know him

With all these thoughts he decided to call her , he took her number from her phone when she went upstairs to get ready and saved his, he chuckled at himself for being cheeky then he dialed the number and watched as it rang then someone picked

"Hello"

"Hello, Mrs Young " Curtis replied , did Curtis really save his number on her phone while she was absent "Hello Mr Young, look at you being mischievous hehe, how did you do it"

"You didn't ask for your husband's phone number so I decided to save you the stress, You're welcome"

"Well okay , is there a reason you called?" Ava asked

"No reason, I just wanted to check up on my wife. Is Jim there? He'll be your personal driver and bodyguard from now on "

"I don't need a personal driver or a bodyguard, I'm okay on my own" Ava protested

"Don't you like the car?" Curtis asked curiously "we can check for a new one when I get back , maybe a newer model"

"Never mind " Ava said defeatedly

"Wifey, we'll talk when I get back" and they said their goodbyes and ended the call leaving Curtis satisfied and Ava perplexed

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!¡¡ was that Mr Young???? Oh my God, isn't he so romantic, he even calls you wifey, I can see my godchild already" Mia shouted leaving Ava stunned

"How do you know Mr Young again? "Ava asked curiously

"Don't you know? He's one of Heathrow's most eligible bachelor and ceo of young enterprises "

Ava wasn't so shocked because a man with broad shoulders , way taller than her , very masculine and as good looking as him was really supposed to be a most eligible bachelor but this also made her realise that she didn't know anything about him and she decided to keep it that way , their marriage was short lived anyway, was nana Grace dying???? "Oh no" Ava thought , maybe its a dying wish , she was definitely going to ask nana Grace when she gets back so she carried on with her work still thinking about Curtis unknowingly.

Curtis received a call from Melissa saying she was at the airport so he quickly dressed up and took Jack to pick her up .

When they got to the airport they saw Melissa and she hurriedly ran to hug Curtis but he made it short lived mostly because he didn't like physical contact and when they got into the vehicle she went on and on about staying in his home and how it'll be good for their relationship and suddenly the atmosphere in the car became very uncomfortable

"Relationship?"

"Yeah , Curtis I'm asking you out since you don't seem to get the green light I've been showing you"

John coughed and Curtis looked back to look at Melissa "There's no relationship happening, I'm married "
