Wild Crazy Love

Alexis POV

I sighed frustrated walking to a nearby provision shop to get a bottle of water to quench my thirst.

"One bottle of water please" I said to the lady, she nodded and gave me a bottle.

"Thank you" i muttered to the lady and paid

I opened the bottle hurriedly and gulped down the content disposing off the bottle in a waste basket i saw by the side of the road , i flagged down a cab and got in.

"Pearls lane" i said to the cab man

He nodded and drove off.

"Ma'am we are here" the cab man said jerking me out of my thoughts.

I nodded and got out of the car , paid the man and walked inside the house.

"Oh my gosh, i'm so exhausted" I whined . I flung the file in my hands on the center table and sank into the chair immediately.

My mom walked out of the kitchen cleaning her wet hands.

"How did it go" she asked sitting beside me.

"Same old story , the position is taken " I muttered

"Don't worry , you'll find the right job"my mom patted my back.

"When i'm old right" i murmured.

"Hey cheer up" my mom smiled trying to cheer me up. I only nodded, sincerely i was tired of going for job interviews and not been taken, not that i wasn't good.

"A messaged popped in your phone"

"I will check that later" i waved her off and made to stand.

"It might be an email from a company , you never might tell"

"An email telling me , I can't have the job" I asked

"Lex....i have never known you to be this negative" my mom said looking at me.

"Whatever" i murmured and picked up my phone.

I clicked on the message, it was a mail from a company i had applied for some weeks ago, i had gone for the interview and hadn't received a mail or message from them , and had put it on my usual *Taken list*.

"Oh my gosh" I screamed after reading the mail , almost throwing my phone away . I had just gotten the job and was asked to resume by eight tomorrow for clarification.

"I got the job, I got the job" i screamed in excitement .

"You see, i told you...so which of them did you get" my mom asked.

"The one in HuxC , i applied for it some weeks ago, i have to resume very early tomorrow for clarification" i said

"That's nice to hear, congratulations " my mom beamed.

"Thank you mum" i smiled and

gave her a quick hug before i dashed to my room.

I had a lot to do.

"Mum " I greeted taking my seat at the dining table .

"Where's dad" i asked my mom who dropped a plate of rice salad for me.

"He's not yet back from work" she replied sitting opposite me.

"It's late already , he should have been back by now" I replied worriedly

Dad never stays this late, I wonder what's wrong.

"Don't worry dear, he's alright" mom assured

I only nodded and we began to eat our food.

Soon we were done with our dinner. I packed the plates to the kitchen and washed it clean. I came out some minutes later and dried my wet hands with a napkin.

"Lex, I'm leaving" my mom called from the living room, she was dressed in her usual nurse clothes, hanging her bags over her shoulder.

My mom is a nurse in one of the popular hospitals here in Texas, and sometimes she had night shifts , that meant she had to work overnight, I was already used to it, but most of the time my dad is always at home with me.

"And uhm....your dad just texted to tell me he won't be coming home tonight" mom said opening the door to leave.

"Is there something wrong" I asked

"No "

"Make sure to lock all the doors and windows before going to bed, also switch off all the lights , okay?"

"Mom, I'm no longer a kid you know, I know all these things" I shrugged at her statement, she has always been reminding me of this things since I was a little kid.

"Okay , bye , take care" my mom added blowing me a kiss, which I caught. I smiled before shutting the door.

I sat in the living room staring at the wall, i couldn't wait to resume work,

'I wonder how my boss would look like'

Taking a deep breath, i walked to the windows and locked it, switched off all the lights before retiring to my room.

I closed the door gently and walked to the bed.

I lay on the bed , spreading the blankets over myself, i put off the bedside lamp before drifting off to sleep.

I jumped off the bed like i was chased in my sleep. I turned around and checked the time.

"What" i yelled getting on my feet immediately.

It was 7:30 am and i had to resume by 8:00 am , how had i slept this late.

I dashed to the bathroom to take my bath. I hurriedly brushed my teeth .

Some minutes later , i was out , i applied my body lotions and put on my clothes, grabbing my bag and sandals,I hurried out of my room .

I quickly put on my sandals and checked my bag to make sure i didn't leave anything behind, when i was sure i didn't, i grabbed my bag and walked out of the house.

I kept the key in the flower vase by the door . luckily for me, i sighted a cab , i flagged it down and got in.

"Venus avenue" i said shutting the door.

"Yes ma'am" the driver said and drove off.

I glanced at my wristwatch .

"Great" I muttered

I was able to pull it off in less than thirty minutes, well that was because i didn't have breakfast. I just hope i get there on time and not having breakfast is worth it.......

Alexis POV

I handed the cab driver my fee and alighted from the cab . I walked inside the extra large compound. The building was so huge . I had been here once but , i didn't really have much time to admire the building because like today i was already late.

I quickened my pace , just then my phone rang , I took it out of my bag and answered the call.

"Mom?"

"Lex....have you gotten there" my mom asked

"Yes mom, i'm about to walk in" i replied looking around. I was standing at the car lot and the main entrance was just some meters away.

"Okay , I wish you best o....." I didn't hear her complete her statement because the next second i was pushed to the floor. The door of the car i was standing by had opened and pushed me to the ground.

"Lex?,Lex!, are you there" my mom voice sounded faint. I picked up my phone from the ground.

"I'll call you later mom" I said and hung up.

I stood up dusting my skirt, glaring at the guy who just came out of the car. I couldn't see his face clearly because of his tinted glasses and his hands were over his mouth and nose stopping me from seeing his face,but i guessed he must be someone from a high class, but that doesn't matter, what mattered was he pushed me to the ground with his damn car and didn't apologize.

"Can't you see what you did" i growled at him.

He removed his glasses to look at me. My jaw dropped , holly molly, he was damn handsome, his perfectly chiseled face, his perfectly built nose, his flat pink lips i so wanted to smash mine on, his long dirty brown hair falling over the sides of his face, giving him the perfect look , oh gosh. I gawked at the demi god right in front of me, I don't know what adjective to classify him but he was an Angel on earth

I stared at him loss of words , i wanted to speak but my voice failed me.

Why?, why couldn't I talk?,why do I feel tensed and nervous?, what's he doing to me. This isn't me.

"You're standing in my way, red face" came his deep cold voice.

I was taken aback.

Why did he call me red face. I stole a glance at myself through his car . he was right my face was burning red of anger and impatience now.

"Are you blind or something, you used your damn car to push me to the floor" i said angrily ignoring the fact i was checking him out minutes ago .

"Oh really, I think you're the blind one here, you shouldn't stand beside a moving car, it could lead to something worse than being pushed to the ground" he said coldly again before walking away.

I blinked me eyes trying hard to understand what he just did.

Who the heck was he

"Jerk, arrogant" i yelled when he was almost out of sight.

"Urghh" i groaned angrily as i watched the jackass walk away.

I hate people who are so arrogant and too full of their self, he had pushed me to the ground and he couldn't say sorry for what he did .how could someone be that handsome and still be rude .

'Wasn't he taught his magic words in elementary '

I picked up my bag before walking into the huge building.

I won't let an arrogant jackass spoil my day and ruin my chances of working here.

Richard's POV

"Oh really, I think you're the blind one here, you shouldn't stand beside a moving car, it could lead to something worse than being pushed to the ground" i said coldly to the lady who was accusing me and walked away.

"Jerk!,arrogant" I heard her yell but I ignored her .

I don't have time for her types.

Well she wouldn't have talked to me that way if she knows who i am.

My staffs greeted as I walked into the building.

I ignored all of their greetings and walked towards the elevator.

I pressed a button and the elevator door opened, i got in and it closed back.

Ding!, the elevator rang and the door opened. I got out, adjusted my tie and walked to my office.

I pressed some buttons on the wall and the door opened, I walked in.

Taking my seat i dropped my suitcase on the table and grabbed the telephone. I pressed some digits on the telephone and soon someone answered it.

"Good morning boss" my personal assistant, David, greeted from the other end

"What is on my schedule this morning" i asked ignoring his greeting

"Boss, you have a meeting with DMG company by nine" he said

"Is everything prepared" I asked switching on my laptop

"Yes sir" he replied

"Okay, what about the lady who is to resume as a secretary" i asked

"She is yet to arrive sir" David said softly.

"Tell her to meet me in my office once she arrives" i said

"Yes boss" David said .

I returned the telephone in place and turned my attention to the booting laptop.

I sighed on seeing all the documents scattered on my table , i sure have a lot of work to do. I always have a lot of work to do, as the CEO of HuxC, i own this huge and successful company, my company is the top successful company, in America and even in the world, i also had other companies in America and abroad. One thing i hate the most is failure, the fear of being mocked when i fail gives me stress and i make sure all my workers are hardworking , and now that i'm having a new worker , i would make sure she blends in , or else she's out of my company....

Alexis POV

"Yes...Alexis Autumn" i said to the receptionist.

"Hold on please" the lady said and made a short call

"Take the elevator to the sixth floor, turn left , the office by your right, sir Richard's" she said

"Okay, thank you" i forced a smile and walked towards the elevator.

I pressed a button and it opened, i got in and tapped on the sixth floor button, the elevator closed.

Urghh, i couldn't wait to see how my boos looked like, i hadn't been interviewed by my *unknown boss*, i hoped my boss would be a lady, but wait, I had heard the receptionist lady say sir Richard

'Maybe i heard her wrong'

I seriously don't want a male as my boss.

Ding!, the elevator door opened. I got out and took the description the receptionist had given me.

I got to the door and saw a label with a name "Richard Huxley" i read out.

I was surprised and a little sad, i didn't expect my boss to be a man, i hope he isn't like the jackass i met earlier. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door, waiting for his reply.

"Come in" i heard a thick voice say

I turned the knob slowly and walked in . i was greeted by a familiar face.

"Oh my gosh" i gasped staring at the figure at my front.

Richard's POV

"Good" I said and placed the telephone back in it's place.

I leaned back on the chair taking a deep breadth.

My phone beeped just as i was about opening a file. I glanced at the screen.

That was someone I didn't want to talk to , yet.

I ignored it and continued with my work. The phone rang again, I grabbed my phone angrily about to switch it off when i heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" i said putting the phone on total silence.

The knob turned slowly and a lady walked in, she was dressed in a tight black skirt which was just an inch above her knees, bringing out her perfect figure, her white long sleeve shirt complemented her skirt. Her hair was packed in a ponytail with two strands of her hair falling out by both sides of her head . Suddenly she halted staring at me in horror.

'Wait, isn't this red face?, woww, and the hot gets hotter'

"Go..od mor..ning sir" she stuttered trying to comport herself.

"You are?" I asked looking back at my laptop pretending not to know her.

"I'm Alexis Autumn, i was asked to resume as a secretary today" she explained.

"Oh, Alexis" i said and paused scanning her.

"You look a lot like red face, i met this morning who was calling me names" i said in a soft tone .

She looked at her feet embarrassed,

"But no worries, you're just her lookalike right?" I asked stressing the word *lookalike*

She looked up at me

"Sir, I'm really sorry about that , it was just...." She paused trying to find the right words to complete her statement.

"So you're that crazy lady, you know you could loose your job for that" i smirked as an idea clicked in my head.

"I'm really sorry s...." She started but I interrupted her

"You're fired" i said with a malicious grin on my face.

"Sir?"she yelled

"....is what i usually say" i added making Alexis furrow her brow confused.

"I would have fired any other person, I guess you're just lucky, because no one is ever lucky with me"

"Sir, thank you sir" she managed to smile

"I think we are done here" i replied turning back to my laptop.

"Yes Sir"she said and turned to leave but I stopped her

"Wait"

She turned back

I grabbed the telephone and pressed some digits

"Boss" a voice called from the other end

"To my office now" i ordered and returned the telephone almost immediately.

Some seconds later, there was a knock on the door

"Come in" I said

The door opened and David walked in

"Sir, you called for me" he asked walking towards me.

"Obviously" i muttered

"David, you show Alexis to her work station and also collect the important documents from her" i said to David

"Yes boss" David answered

"Leave" i said .

I heard Alexis scoffed, but I ignored her, I think I have done a great job by keeping her in my company.

Alexis POV

"So this is your work station" David said pointing to a small space, a chair , table , laptop, file rack was arranged neatly like every other one there.

I nodded walking to the swivel chair, i looked around for something to clean the chair

"It's clean" David's voice cut me shut

"Oh" i muttered dropping my bag on the table.

"That's the inter com,the boss use to communicate with you " David said pointing to a white button with a speaker on the wall

I nodded jotting what he was saying in my head.

"For now, you just sit till you have works to do, but I'm sure you'll soon be called by the boss to take some files to work on" he added

"Why didn't he give me when earlier, then" I wanted to say but i shut up, I may just lose my job finally.

"Alexis Autumn, my office right away" I heard a voice from the intercom

"Off you go" David said and walked away

I muttered a thank you after him and walked towards Richard's office.

I seriously don't know how i am going to cope in this company, the other workers look cold and reserved, they look boring, i don't know how best to describe them, except they took after their cold boss.

I took a deep breath before opening the door, I didn't bother to knock.

"Sir you asked for me" i asked staring down at my feet, i hated his cold piercing eyes.

"Yes" he said

"Take these files , and do the necessary, I just sent what to do with them to your office e-mail , and if you need anything you can ask your partner, Rose" he added pointing to a heap of files by the edge of his table.

Just seeing that made me tired, but i'm going to show him who i am .

"Yes sir" i said and grabbed the files from the table, holding unto it gently, i don't want to mess things up on my first day, well I kinda already did.

"Oh yes, and i forgot to tell you,I need those files back Thursday noon, which is the day after tomorrow" he said

"But sir" i tried to protest but he interrupted me.

"I'm the boss, so you follow my instructions, thursday or you resign" he said with a smirk plastered on his face.

'Seriously' i muttered to myself, was he purposely overworking me because of what i did earlier, if it is then he really is a jackass.

"I'm sorry sir" i muttered before walking out.

What the heck is wrong with this guy, is he like this to everyone or just me....
