When They Met

Today is the busiest day of the week I have two projects to handle simultaneously, along with some pending emails to address regarding an ongoing project and a site visit to manage.I can't wait for the weekend so I could take some rest from my chaotic life

Right now I'm in my cabin going through some designs I made for our clients for their new house. They want a modern house with big backyard for their kids and a huge terrace for them to have fun and rest

I was doing some adjustments for the design when my door was knocked as soon as I permitted the person to come in, Tina entered and informed me

"Mrs.Dixit is calling you to discuss the Kapoor's project"

"I'll be there in a minute" I told her while grabbing my files and headed towards Mrs.Dixits cabin,she's my boss and Tina is her assistant

I was wearing a white turtleneck with white beige pencil skirt with the same color of blazer and a pair of white leather boots. I like dressing up,its my therapy

I knocked on Mrs.Dixits cabin and entered, she was busy on a phone call, she motioned me to sit down, Mrs. Antara Dixit is a lady in her late 30s with gray eyes,brown hair, chubby face with brown skin she's really pretty for her age

She started A.D architects during her initial days of her career. She's one of the best architects in India, with about 200 projects under her, but at the same time she's a really strict boss who wants no mistakes, there is so much one can learn from her, she really inspires me

As soon her as call ended she asked me "How is the Kapoor's project coming along"

"It's going good we just need more ideas about how they want the resort to come along since they have given limited information" I informed while showing her the few designs our team made in past 3 weeks

Kapoors are our old clients and it's a headache to work with them. They own resorts all over India, they want everything perfect but won't give proper instructions about how they want their resort to be and this time is no different they gave less information and when our team shows them design they keep rejecting them and the CEO is an A grade pig who can't keep his eyes to himself

"Well I'm removing your team from this project other team will handle it I am giving you all a new project, Rajputs are opening new hotel and they want us to design it and you know Rajput is a big name it will be profitable for us if we manage to work successfully with them" Mrs.Dixit said after she checked the designs for Kapoors

"Okay I will inform everyone about the changes. When are we going to have a meeting with them?" I asked, mentally noting down everything

"They will come here tomorrow at 10:00am make sure everything is prepared and everyone is on their best behavior Mr. Rajput doesn't like tardiness" She said sternly

"Yes mam I'll make sure everything is prepared in advance and I'll go and inform the team members about the changes" I said

"You may leave and before starting on your work give this file regarding the Kapoors to Mr. Desai and tell him about the changes" She said while handing me the file back

"Sure, I'll take my leave now" I said while I stood up

I went to the elevator and pressed floor number 5 where Mr. Desai's cabin is, as the elevator door opened I made my way to his cabin and knocked on it, as he allowed me to come in I went inside and gave him the file while I told him everything that was discussed in Mrs. Dixit's cabin.

I thought of grabbing some coffee from the nearby cafe as it has already been 3 hrs since lunch break. I crossed the road and opened the door of the cozy cafe which was right opposite our building, I ordered a java chip frappuccino and took a seat beside the window

The weather was cloudy today, it's quite surprising since mumbai's weather is mostly hot or rainy. I decided to work in the cafe and relish the 'once in a blue moon weather preferring it over being confined within my cabin."

I was checking some mails when my name was called out, I went and grabbed my frappuccino and continued my work and informed one of teammate about my whereabouts and told her to stop working on the Kapoors project and inform others as well

As I sipped my frappuccino, the creamy coffee flavor blended perfectly with the comforting ambiance of the cafe, creating a brief moment of respite amidst the day's chaos.

After my coffee got over I stayed a few minutes in cafe finishing up all the mails for the day and headed towards my office as it has already been an hour since I came here, as I reached my cabin I went towards the main room where all the teammates work together, since I'm the team manager I get to have my own cabin

"Attention please, so Mrs. Dixit removed us from Kapoors project and gave us a new project, it's about the new hotel Rajput's are opening and they want us to design it they're going to come here at 10:00am tomorrow and we have to be prepared for everything beforehand as the CEO doesn't like any tardiness"

As soon as I finished everyone started firing questions one after another

"What about the Kapoors then? "

"Thank God we don't have to handle his tantrums anymore"

"Rajput's CEO is so hot I'm going to faint"

"What about the designs we made till now? "

"Oh My God, I need to look more pretty tomorrow"

"Shut up he isn't coming here to see you"

"Guys tone it down" I said after a while knowing they won't stop talking

"As per your questions Mr.Desai's team will handle the Kapoors from tomorrow, and Mayra please don't faint in front of him, Siya you're going to come here tomorrow how you usually come, like the professional you are and yes Mayank is right he isn't coming to see you. That's it for now, any more questions?" I asked after clearing all their doubts

Our team consists of 5 people including me, Siya, Mayra, Pranay and Mayank

"What are the preparations we have to make for tomorrow?" Mayra asked after a while

"Get our old hotel designs which we haven't used and set the designs in the pendrive and make sure everything is perfect and prepare the conference room, the same drill which we do every time" I instructed them

After discussing some more I went towards my cabin and packed my bag to go home, I already had a lot on my plate today, thankfully the Kapoors were removed from the schedule so I didn't have to go check the site, I went towards the parking lot towards my 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, I have been saving for a car since my college days while working part time, when I started working I hadn't decided which one I wanted but this Range Rover instantly caught my eye and I bought it, well I am still paying the installment but it's still mine

I kept my bag in the passenger seat and settled myself in the driver's seat. Connecting my phone, I played Taylor Swift's 'Lover' album, belting out the lyrics to 'Landon Boy' as I navigated through the streets of Mumbai.

I reached home after 1 hour due to the mumbai traffic,as soon as I reached my apartment I took a bath and changed into some cute pajamas, they're really soft, I was too tired to cook something fancy so I just made some noodles, when they were cooked I went towards the balcony with my laptop so I could watch something while eating

I decorated my balcony with some plants and a couch it gave me nice view of mumbai skyline, after eating and watching I went and washed the dishes and did my routine

The warm glow of the city lights danced through the sheer curtains, casting a serene ambiance across my bedroom, as I finally succumbed to the lull of sleep, ready to face whatever challenges tomorrow would bring.

Ruhaan's Pov

Peering through the skylights of my office, I savored my coffee, feeling the pressing need for a break. Working tirelessly was beginning to take its toll, yet the thought of leaving the office under the care of the so-called 'idiots' I employed seemed implausible.

I sat down on my chair and so I could finish reading and signing some documents and go home early and spend some time with my family members in our lawn,it's seems to be a good day for outing

I might be cold arrogant and everything the media says but I'm a human too I need rest, just because I'm a billionaire doesn't mean I'm a workaholic, my mind and body needs rest and dealing with my employees everyday can be a task

I called my P.A and gave him some files to read so later I will just have to sign them

"I'm going home now you can go after reading the files or take the files home but if you are taking them home don't forget to bring it back" I informed Ronit while collecting my blazer which was hanged on the back of my chair

"Alright sir, anything else?" He asked while following me till the elevator

"Email me my tomorrow's schedule before I reach home" I said as I got in the elevator

Before he could reply anything the door closed, I reached my private parking lot and got in my matt black porsche 911 GT2, I love this one the most amongst all the cars I own, I was driving through the mumbai traffic enjoying the weather

I reached my house more like a mansion since I live in a joint family, me, my siblings and cousins were born in Mumbai but we are originally from jaipur our ancestors used to rule jaipur during the historical period, later after the monarchy was ended we stopped ruling, though we are still given respect as kings and queen we don't rule over the people of jaipur. My grandfather came to Mumbai to expand our business which was started by our family since then we settled here in Mumbai, we do visit Jaipur occasionally for vacations and festivals

Upon entering my mansion, I noticed the presence of only the workers; it was still early for the rest of the family to retire to their rooms-it was merely 6:00 in the evening. Making my way to my room, I appreciated the aesthetics: a black and gray bedroom, matching bathroom, and a balcony offering a stunning view of Mumbai.

I came out of the washroom and changed into a black hoodie and white shorts with some white socks and sneakers.

I came down and noticed everyone was in the lawn enjoying the weather, our lawn is pretty huge since we are a big family

It consists of my grandparents Raghuvendra Singh Rajput and Pushpalata Singh Rajput, my mom and dad Arjun Singh Rajput and Dhaani Singh Rajput my uncle and his wife Amit singh rajput and Gayatri singh rajput

My dad was the previous CEO and my uncle was the COO but now they gave that designation to me and my cousin and they handle the post of chairman and vice president respectfully

My parents have three children, including Aarav and Alia, who are twins. Both of them are currently in their final year of college.

Uncle and aunt have two kids Aarhan who is COO of Rajput enterprises and Nidhi who is 2 years younger than Aarhan, is working under my mom as a fashion designer since my mom has her own fashion label, and will take over my mom's company in a few years

I strolled into the lawn, greeted everyone, and settled down next to Aarhan. I inquired about a file he was supposed to complete, as he hadn't come to the office today, citing laziness as the reason.

"Ruhaan, when are you going to meet the architects and discuss the new hotel?" Dad asked and soon everyone focused on our conversation

"I'll check, wait!" I removed my phone and opened my schedule which Ronit had sent

"I've got a meeting scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 am, they are with one of the top architect firms. Hopefully, they understand their job well, or else I might need to pull out the project. It reminds me of the last time we hired a different firm who couldn't handle the task," I commented, tucking my phone back into my pocket.

"Don't worry bhai I know they will do their work I have heard a lot of good things about them and they even designed our new canteen three years back and it's so cool" Aalia exclaimed

"Yes don't worry if they don't work properly there are other firms too who know what to do" Dad said reassuringly

"Enough of this work talk we are spending some family time so let's enjoy each other's company" Mom said firmly

We spent some time together talking about anything we had, telling how each other's day was while eating snacks

"I'm going to my room I have to do some work" I said to everyone while standing up

"Okay but come for dinner on time" Mom said as I was going from the lawn. It was already dark I thought of going to the balcony and getting some work done I have a perfect view of Mumbai skyline from the balcony

I was reading some file when my door was knocked a servant came and informed about the dinner being ready, I closed my files and laptop and went downstairs to the dining area, everyone was already gathered

I sat down on my seat with Aarav on my left Aalia and besides him, mom and dad on my left and uncle and aunt opposite to us with aarhan and nidhi besides them with grandfather on the head chair and grandma on his right side

Engaged in lively conversation during dinner, we discussed our plans for the following day. These simple yet cherished moments with my family never failed to remind me of the warmth and comfort of love

I went back to my room after dinner and sat on the couch in my room and started doing my work for a while

The evening breeze gently caressed my face as I reclined on the couch, momentarily closing my eyes to absorb the tranquility of the night, grateful for these fleeting moments of solace amidst the perpetual hustle and bustle of life.

Tarini's POV

The sun peeked through the window curtains, and I lingered in bed for a while, basking in the beauty of the morning. I had woken up half an hour earlier than usual to prepare for the upcoming meeting.

As I stepped out of bed, I quickly changed into my workout clothes and headed to the balcony with my yoga mat. The calming practice brought me peace, and the sight of the sunrise was the perfect cherry on top

Post-yoga, I took a refreshing shower and wrapped myself in a robe after coming out I started with my skin care routine, skincare is a must for me , there's not one single day when I missed my skincare, growing up I had to face with acne problem and I used to get mocked for it a lot. Embracing my imperfections has been a journey, and finding effective products recommended by my dermatologist was a turning point.

I went in the kitchen to whip some good breakfast for myself, I didn't wear my clothes yet because I didn't want them to get dirty while cooking it irritates me when they get dirty and I have to change them again

I whipped up a delightful breakfast of pancakes topped with chocolate sauce. Savoring a hearty breakfast has always been my priority, especially when my work schedule tends to disrupt my lunch routine

While checking on my team's readiness, I ensured the kitchen remained tidy before changing into a professional outfit for the day. Opting for a beige skirt, matching blazer, and a crisp white shirt, I arranged my wavy hair into a ponytail and grabbed my essentials for the day

Ensuring everything was in place, I took my car keys and left my apartment. I went to the elevator and down to the parking lot, I opened my car door and kept my bag on the passenger seat, I headed to the office blasting the iconic 'She looks so perfect' by '5 seconds of summer' through the speaker

I reached office at 8:53, it starts at 9:00 so it's good I'm 7 minutes early, I wished few of the employees good morning and made my way towards the elevator and pressed floor number 9, as the door opened to my floor I made my way towards my cabin, I kept my bag and removed my laptop and few of the designs I had in my file and prepped for the meeting

I carried my laptop and designs to the main room so the team and I could discuss the last minute preparation

"Good morning everyone" I wished them and sat on one of the chair

They wished me back, we soon started to check all the designs

"Mayank attach the pen drive and see if all the designs are there and if there are any mistakes" I told Mayank

He got down on his work while others were making rough designs.

"Alright everything looks good we have 30 mins for the meeting we should rest a little I want everyone in the conference hall at 9:50" I said

"We will be there on time don't worry" Mayra reassured me on behalf of everyone

I nodded at them, I collected my laptop and went towards my cabin and requested the peon to get me a cup of coffee I always drink a cup of coffee before meetings because I get anxious easily I need something to calm myself down

I put on a timer on my phone so when it rings I can leave for the conference room, I was sipping the coffee, I was lost in my thoughts when the timer went off.

I quickly fixed my dressed and checked myself in the mirror and made my way towards the conference room, everyone was already there, after a while Mrs. Dixit came with Tina tagging behind her

"Tarini I hope everything is ready, I don't want any mistakes from you all" She said while looking at all of us

"Yes mam everything is ready, you don't have to worry we will do our best" I replied on everyone's behalf with confidence

"Good, I'll have to go back halfway through so I'll not be there for the whole meeting and I know you all will handle the client professionally" She said

It felt good to see her having such great confidence in us, Mayank went inside and connected his laptop to the projector and re-checked if everything was working, thankfully it was we didn't wanted to have any last minute problems, Mayank soon joined us outside the conference room

We were waiting for Mr. Rajput to come, me and the team were waiting outside the conference room along with Mrs. Dixit and Tina, it feels like we are waiting to receive a chief guest for a school function, the elevator door opened and two people came out of it

I recognised Mr. Rajput instantly, first because it was already 10:00 and he was on time and second because of the cold aura, the other man who came with him must be his P.A

Dressed in a white shirt, black blazer, and black slacks, complemented by a sleek Rolex watch and polished black Oxfords, he exuded an undeniable sense of style and sophistication.

Mrs. Dixit went and greeted him and we moved to the conference room, they were having some formal conversation while I took my time looking at Mr rajput, he was a man too look at with dark brown eyes, curly raven black hair sharp jawline and the stubble makes him even more attractive than he already is.

"I'll have to take my leave I have another meeting, the team will be here for their presentation" Mrs. Dixit said while bringing me out of my thoughts

I couldn't help but notice his cool demeanor and impeccable attire, even his words left something to be desired. Maintaining my composure, I guided the conversation smoothly, determined to meet his expectations with new designs meeting his preferences

I nodded and went in front and showed Mr rajput few designs

"These are few designs we have if you liked any of this we can go ahead or we can make changes and if you didn't like any of then we can make new designs according to your preference" I said while looking into his eyes

Rule one, never look down while you are talking to clients you need to show them you are confident in what you do

"I need new designs'' That's it? Did he forget we need his preference? I tried to keep my irritation in check

"We can discuss how you want the designs to be" I said politely

Rule two, always be patient with your client

During our discussion we delved into their preferences for the hotel designs and style they envisioned. While examining their existing hotel designs last night, I observed that most of their properties maintained a traditional aesthetic. However, for the new hotel, they expressed a strong desire for a thoroughly modern look.

"I have a meeting, my assistant will let you know the next meeting date" He stood while buttoning up his blazer and left with his P.A tailing behind him

"Let's go back to work" I sighed
