No matter how famous your sword masters, magic gods, holy beasts, and giant dragons are outside, in my eyes, you are just a group of 'weirds' giving away experience.

Chapter 1 Another world

"Where am I?" Perplexed, I surveyed the surroundings, sensing a change in the environment. Instantly, a sense of unease gripped my heart, and I contemplated standing up.

However, when I attempted to make a move, I made a startling discovery that filled me with terror.

"My hands? My feet? Why has my vision deteriorated so much? Why has my hearing regressed?" Upon regaining consciousness, as I habitually prepared to rub my eyes, I was horrified to find not only that my limbs had vanished suddenly but also that my auditory and visual functions had diminished to almost nothing.

A series of revelations instilled fear in me, and, in a state of panic, I disregarded utility and exerted all my strength to initiate movement.

Amidst my actions, I suddenly made an even more terrifying discovery.

"A serpent's tail? How do I have the tail of a snake?" After a series of frightening events, I surprisingly found myself becoming calmer.

"A snake's tail, limbless, diminished senses-could it be that I have transformed into a snake?" With this thought flashing in my mind, I was dumbfounded.

Originally, I was just an ordinary otaku on Earth, spending my days playing games and surfing the internet. Although I lacked noteworthy experiences, life was comfortable.

I had thought I would continue living such a life, but unexpectedly, due to a small accident, I ended up becoming a snake.

The transition from human to snake, though bizarre, had a nearly fatal impact on me.

Contemplating the lifespan and habits of snakes, and the prospect of living by consuming mice, suicidal thoughts crossed my mind.

Biting my tongue to end my life? This method posed significant difficulty for a snake.

Crashing to death? Crawling itself was a challenge, making it nearly impossible to collide with force.

Perhaps due to the difficulty of suicide or a fear of death, whatever the reason, after the initial shock, I gradually accepted the fact that I had become a snake and attempted to crawl.

Perhaps it was instinctual, but learning to crawl was surprisingly easy for me, requiring minimal effort.

After mastering crawling, in my eagerness to explore the outside world, I crawled away from my original location.

However, I seemed to forget that I was no longer a human. While a person going out would not encounter any issues, I was now a snake. If discovered by humans, I might either scare them away if lucky or become a delicacy on their dining table if unlucky.

Yet, it was apparent that I didn't consider such matters.

"Boom!" Perhaps due to my destiny, after crawling for a while, I suddenly heard a loud noise from the front, startling me.

Unaware of what had happened ahead, my instincts told me that it was undoubtedly dangerous there.

However, even though I knew that place was dangerous, it was best to keep a considerable distance. Yet, driven by curiosity, I continued crawling towards that location.

"Is this another world?"

After crawling for some time and reaching the vicinity of the noise, I discovered two gigantic beasts engaged in a fierce battle. Knowing that such monstrous creatures didn't exist on Earth, I naturally assumed that I had arrived in another world.

Soon, as I approached the scene, the two beasts succumbed to their injuries, collapsing on the ground.

Without delving into the details of their battle, I could tell that these beasts possessed formidable strength. The nearby craters bore witness to the astonishing destructive power of their clash.

Had these two beasts not fallen, even in my previous human form, I would have undoubtedly fled upon encountering such formidable creatures. However, now that they lay defeated, I couldn't simply leave.

Magic Core!

My greatest hobby in the past was reading, and although I had no idea whether this world resembled the fantasy realms described in novels, after transforming into a snake and witnessing the battle of these colossal beasts, my only option was to overlay my current world with the fantastical realms I knew.

Now a snake, my fate on Earth would have been limited to surviving in sparsely populated areas. However, unexpectedly arriving in this otherworld, I couldn't resign myself to living a mundane life.

If born into a xianxia world, I'd willingly become a snake demon like Bai Niangzi. In this otherworld, my second choice would be to become a powerful magic beast.

Aware of my current strength, despite the recent transformation, I could almost be certain that my new body held no outstanding qualities. In other words, I was just an ordinary snake. If no surprises occurred, there would be little chance to change my fate in this lifetime.

However, if truly in another world, based on the novels I read, I knew this might be my only opportunity for a turnaround.

How to evolve from a regular snake to a magic beast, I didn't know. But if indeed in another world, I knew that finding the legendary Magic Core was the key to enhancing my strength.

"Let's go for it." Realizing the rarity of this opportunity, unwilling to accept a lifetime as a small snake, I, despite the overwhelming size of the beasts, crawled towards them.

"Really dead." Carefully crawling to the side of one beast, I viciously bit its nose. Seeing no reaction from the creature, I confirmed its death.

Even though both beasts were dead, it didn't mean I could easily achieve my goal of extracting the Magic Core. While my current strength prevented me from dealing with the corpses, it didn't mean I would abandon my desire to obtain the Magic Core.

Since breaking through the skull to retrieve the core was impossible, I considered other options.

Realizing my predicament and the potential dangers ahead, I gritted my teeth and crawled towards the nose of the fallen beast.

With a subtle sound, I entered the beast's brain. In the wake of my intrusion, the area fell silent, and under the intimidation of the two beasts in their prime, other creatures in the vicinity refrained from approaching.

"Hiss." With a faint hiss, I emerged from the beast's body, holding a crystalline orb. After disgorging the blood in my mouth, I spared no effort to examine the Magic Core I had extracted from the beast.

"Is this the Magic Core? Why does it resemble a marble?" After a curious examination, unable to resist the temptation of strengthening myself, I promptly swallowed the Magic Core.

Yet, I hadn't considered that enhancing my strength through devouring the Magic Core didn't mean there were no consequences.

Chapter 2 system

"I declare it hurts terribly!" Zhou Tian never expected that after swallowing the magic core, the outcome would be like this. In his heart, a tightness urged him to expel the magic core he had swallowed into his stomach. However, the magic core, upon entering Zhou Tian's body, transformed into a violent force that wreaked havoc inside him. Zhou Tian wanted to expel it, but how could he manage it?

So, despite feeling the pain caused by the magic core's transformation in his body, Zhou Tian wanted to expel it. Yet, due to the lack of experience in such matters, he found himself unable to release the energy within.

The energy transformed by the magic core showed no mercy towards Zhou Tian. Out of control, it ravaged inside him like unbridled wild horses.

As the internal injuries worsened, Zhou Tian's consciousness gradually blurred. In the end, after enduring for a moment, he fell into unconsciousness.

In the world of magical beasts, enhancing strength by swallowing magic cores often involved overpowering the weaker ones. Even lucky magical beasts occasionally obtaining cores stronger than their own would possess some strength, understanding how to use their internal energy to neutralize the magic core's power.

Zhou Tian, however, was currently an ordinary little snake. Snakes like Zhou Tian wouldn't typically have the chance to obtain magic cores. Therefore, the usual rule that swallowing magic cores posed no danger did not apply to Zhou Tian. In a situation like the present one, unable to neutralize the magic core's energy within, Zhou Tian's fate would likely end with the energy causing him to burst.

But just as Zhou Tian's body continued to swell, on the brink of being burst by the magic core's energy, a sudden flash of black light appeared. With the appearance of that light, the energy rampaging within Zhou Tian's body seemed to find an outlet and rushed toward the black light.

The light on Zhou Tian's body resembled a black hole, capable of containing the energy of billions or even trillions of ordinary snakes. After pouring into the light, the energy disappeared without a sound.

Only when the last trace of energy was absorbed did the light exhibit a new movement.

Silently, without any sound, under the stillness, the injuries on Zhou Tian's body began to slowly heal with the assistance of the light.

When the injuries on Zhou Tian's body were completely healed, the light on his body then withdrew back into his body.

As the light faded, Zhou Tian was awakened by a faint sound in his ears.

"Ding, absorption of energy 1%, 5%, 12%. System initiated. Host in critical condition. According to the novice regulations, when the host is at level 0, they are invincible. The system is obligated to ensure the host's safety, initiating guardian mode to heal host injuries at 1%, 5%, 30%, 70%, 100%. Host injury recovery complete. Exiting autonomous management mode."

"I'm not... Huh, what's going on?" After the riot of the magic core energy, Zhou Tian initially thought he was destined to die. Now, discovering that he had not died, Zhou Tian was naturally surprised.

However, compared to the fact that he hadn't died, Zhou Tian was more concerned about another discovery.

"This should be the character panel!" Zhou Tian would never forget what appeared before his eyes. Originally, because he downloaded a web game called "Beast King War" online, he ended up in another world. As one of the main reasons for him to traverse to this world, Zhou Tian had a fresh memory of anything related to that game.

Although Zhou Tian didn't play the game for a long time, at least he did enter it. Therefore, when he saw the character panel from that game now, Zhou Tian was not unfamiliar with it.

Now, whether he had crossed into a real another world or into the game world of "Beast King War," Zhou Tian was not sure. But one thing Zhou Tian was very clear about was that since the game system came with him to this world, and it seemed that he gained the system's approval, then for Zhou Tian, he should have acquired the most common 'cheat' in transmigration novels.

With an uneasy heart, Zhou Tian clicked on his 'character panel' subconsciously.

Fortunately, the system showed no unusual signs. With a light touch of Zhou Tian's finger, just like in the game, the character panel before Zhou Tian responded.

Player Name: Dragon King

Player Race: Snake

Player Level: 0

Player Talent: None

Spirit Qi: 48 points

"Beast King War" is quite different from other games. Apart from killing monsters to level up, in this game, there were no conventional attributes like strength, agility, or experience. All players started as the lowest-level creatures and could enhance their strength by leveling up, eventually reaching the maximum level and evolving into a higher species. For example, Zhou Tian's current snake form could evolve into a dragon when reaching the maximum level, and further evolve into a dragon.

Besides these changes in settings, like other games, the ultimate goal of the game development company was to make money. Therefore, in the game, there was a special currency called Spirit Qi, similar to virtual currency in real-world games, which players could use to purchase various treasures, elixirs, and even talents from the system shop.

Now, after discovering the game system, Zhou Tian found through simple operations that the game system he controlled was no different from the "Beast King War" system on Earth, which eased Zhou Tian's uneasy heart.

"TMD, now that I have a divine artifact in hand, I will surely become the most powerful divine dragon one day. When the time comes, if someone makes me find out who brought me to this ghost place, I'll see how I deal with that king. Bastard." After cursing the entity that brought him to this otherworld, Zhou Tian carefully observed his attributes.

In fact, there was nothing much to observe. In the game "Beast King War," the initial attributes of new players were almost zero. Without any changes, Zhou Tian's attributes were not impressive.

The only strange thing that caught Zhou Tian's attention was that Spirit Qi, this currency, usually required RMB (Chinese currency) recharge on Earth. Zhou Tian didn't remember recharging any RMB. Therefore, Zhou Tian was curious about the origin of the 48 Spirit Qi points he suddenly obtained.

"Could it be..." After carefully recalling his experiences in the past, Zhou Tian speculated and turned his gaze to the two dead magical beasts.

After arriving in the otherworld, Zhou Tian didn't do anything special. If there was anything related to Spirit Qi, it might be the act of swallowing the magic core. Although Zhou Tian wasn't sure if his speculation was correct, he found it not difficult to clarify the truth. Currently, there were two dead magical beasts, and if the source of Spirit Qi was related to them, Zhou Tian only needed to repeat the previous action to probably figure it out.

Thinking of this, Zhou Tian bit his lip and crawled towards the other dead magical beast.

Chapter 3 system store

Approximately five minutes later, using the same method, Zhou Tian once again emerged from the other demonic beast's body, holding a demonic core in his mouth. After confirming that the system would ensure his safety at level zero, he gritted his teeth and swallowed the demonic core.

Although the demonic cores Zhou Tian swallowed twice should be of similar levels, the final results were quite different. When he swallowed the first demonic core, without the fortunate activation of the system, he might have been directly exploded by the core's energy.

However, when swallowing the second demonic core, despite confirming the system's protection, Zhou Tian still prepared himself for some hardships. The demonic core's energy was incredibly violent, and with the current energy in Zhou Tian's body, absorbing it intact was quite challenging, even with the system's safeguard. Nevertheless, after Zhou Tian swallowed the demonic core, the system autonomously absorbed the energy within his body. When the energy completely disappeared, Zhou Tian was unaffected, leaving him in disbelief that he had swallowed a demonic core before.

"Lingqi value is now 108. So, it seems that the source of Lingqi is indeed obtained by swallowing demonic cores. If that's the case, then..." Muttering to himself, Zhou Tian immediately commanded, "Access the system store!"

While Lingqi's significance was considerable, the existence of a system store would make its value truly substantial. Anything in the store would undoubtedly be beneficial for players, and Zhou Tian was eager to see if the system store had arrived in this world along with him.

Fortunately, the result did not disappoint Zhou Tian. After issuing the command, a panel he found somewhat familiar appeared before him.

Shape-shifting Pill: 100,000 Lingqi, Tribulation Crossing Pill: 200,000 Lingqi

Pangu Axe: 1 billion Lingqi, Immortal Slaying Sword: 10 million Lingqi

Talent Devouring Heaven and Earth: 1 million Lingqi, Talent Immortality: 500,000 Lingqi

Divine Dragon Bloodline: 3 million Lingqi, Phoenix Bloodline: 3 million Lingqi

Seeing the numerous items on the panel, Zhou Tian felt both joy and frustration. Joyful that the system store had indeed come with him to this world, but frustrated because, even though there were many treasures, the colossal prices deterred him.

While on Earth, one could exchange one RMB for 10,000 Lingqi, making it easy for any RMB player to dominate with divine artifacts. However, Lingqi's source had now become swallowing demonic cores, and though Zhou Tian wasn't sure of their level, the size of the two demonic cores he unexpectedly obtained suggested a high-grade. This made acquiring Lingqi much more challenging.

Ignoring a plethora of items he couldn't afford, Zhou Tian slowly shifted his attention to items he could purchase. At a rate of one RMB to 10,000 Lingqi, even the cheapest items held little value, but given his current situation, Zhou Tian couldn't afford to be picky.

"Talent Poisonous: 10 Lingqi (Upgradeable)," Zhou Tian murmured, biting the bullet, and promptly clicked the confirmation button on the panel.

At the very moment Zhou Tian made his selection, a wave of comforting sensations swept over him. After about ten seconds, his Lingqi value on the character panel suddenly decreased by ten points, followed by an influx of information into his mind, providing details about the newly acquired talent. Zhou Tian found this process fascinating.

The information flooding his mind included descriptions of the talent, as well as practical experience on how to utilize the poison effectively. In a way, Zhou Tian could immediately integrate this new talent into his combat strategy. Astonishingly, this meant he could put his newly acquired talent into action right away, a level of treatment that surprised Zhou Tian.

After confirming the details of his purchase and ensuring it met his expectations, Zhou Tian wasted no time. He invested the remaining Lingqi into upgrading the Poisonous talent. When his Lingqi reached single digits, Zhou Tian ceased his shopping spree. He then quickly tore off a piece of meat from one of the demonic beasts and crawled away in a certain direction.

As Zhou Tian departed and the auras of the two demonic beasts dissipated, the once silent space eventually welcomed a new group of "visitors."

The Demon Beast Forest, the largest forest on the Demon Moon Continent, was often referred to as the forbidden zone for humans and the paradise for demon beasts. In the Demon Beast Forest, the number of demon beasts was as numerous as the stars, ranging from lower-level beasts that only bullied commoners to legendary creatures in the core area that could rival human Sword Saints and Archmages.

The specific situation within the Demon Beast Forest was likely unknown to many, but due to ancient rules and the formidable strength displayed by the forest, even after humans conquered one territory after another, they dared not invade the inner parts of the Demon Beast Forest.

Of course, refraining from invading the Demon Beast Forest meant not launching large-scale incursions into its core areas. In reality, while the Demon Beast Forest was dubbed a forbidden zone for humans, the outer regions, apart from demon beasts, were often frequented by mercenaries eager to venture into the forest and profit from it. The relationship between demon beasts and human mercenaries had been established for countless years, where mercenaries killed demon beasts to harvest demonic cores, and demon beasts killed mercenaries for food. Under these unique circumstances, demon beasts and human mercenaries had coexisted in the Demon Beast Forest for an unknown period.
