Chapter 1 Trisha Callister

In a minimastically decorated office, one of many rooms in the large building, Trisha Callister typed away on her laptop, her undivided attention directed towards the work she was doing.

Clad in a tight dress, Trisha scooted closer to her desktop computer as if any voluntary action would multiply her speed.

It took sometime, but, Trisha was finally able to get everything done. It wasn't easy being the general manager of such a prestigious brand, but she was Trisha, so she could make it work.

Being the neat freak she was, she couldn't bear seeing her chair displaced, nor the files on her table scattered.

Despite how tired she was, she still managed to arrange everything to her liking, and finally, the black plaque with gold letters which spelt "Trisha Callister, General Manager!".

She sighed in satisfaction, it was one of the many nights she looked at the plaque and she felt accomplished. Everything she had worked for finally paid off, just a little bit of hard work and she would finally have her own brand.

Like the many nights where she would get off work in record time, she decided to call Collin, her boyfriend turn fiance three months before.

She dialed his number twice, but he didn't pick up the call. She concluded that he was tired after a long day, and maybe he was just freshening up.

"Hmm!, Maybe he had so much work to do today. Maybe I'll just call him later ", Trisha said to herself before she called Elle, her bestfriend.

Unlike Collin, Elle was able to puck up immediately after the first ring. It wasn't unusual because, the ladies had known each other way before Trisha met Collin.

"I'm so tired!!", Elle exclaimed as she sat in the patrol car. "What do you mean silly!! Your shift started three hours ago!", Trisha replied, looking at her dashboard to check the time.

"Well, what do you know miss manager! Unlike you I can't deal with working through the night!", Elle replied feeling wrong.

"Ohh okay miss officer, you have to keep at it to get promoted. You'll get off soon, so its fine!", Trisha replied, driving out of the parking lot where she parked her car.

"Yeah, yeah, I heard you. Are you having dinner with Collin!?", Elle asked, hoping to have dinner with her best friend.

"I don't know actually, I called him before I called you, but, he didn't pick up". "Ohh, I have a thirty minute window, you know, just in case you want to have dinner with me!", Elle offered as she drove out .

"Favorite spot?", Trisha asked. "You know it!!", Elle replied.

"And wait, isn't there any way to tune down the crappy siren you lots have in your car?!", Trisha asked...

"Yeah, its actually possible!!", Elle said turning off the siren in the patrol car

"Alright then, I'll see you soon!", Trisha said cutting the call.

Chapter 2 Her supposed boyfriend

Trisha proceeded to call Collin but his number didn't go through again, sighing, she dropped the call and left for the restaurant she was supposed to have dinner with Elle.

To think that Trisha was acting very worried about her fiance, when in actual fact, he was busy having one of the best times in his life with his girlfriend.

Continuous squeak sounds, heavy breathing and loud moaning continued to resonate in the three bedroom apartment. One of the many apartments in the complex.

After sometime, the squeaking and moaning stopped, leaving the heavy breathing of both individuals who had just come down from their high.

"It's always wonderful with you!", Collin said as he rolled over to hug Adriana. "Yes, it's always so wonderful anytime I come over. You always manage to make me feel... ", Adriana drawled looking for the right word.

"loved", Collin rebutted, finishing her sentence for her. "Yes, loved!", Adriana said, both looking into each other's eyes adoringly.

Her phone suddenly started ringing so she turned, Collin also standing up to check his phone for any notifications as he had earlier put it on the vibration mode.

Adriana was done with her call in no time, as it was her father calling to ask where she was and when she would be going home.

"She called!", Collin suddenly said, in turn, dampening the bright mood that was formerly in the room.

"What does she want now!!", Adriana said. "Maybe she wants to come over or she wants us to have dinner...", Collin drawled, seeing the expression on Adriana's face.

"Of course, I'm not going to actually call her back!", Collin added, scooting closer to Adriana. "I'll just call her back tomorrow!!".

This seemed to pacify Adriana just for a bit, and soon the couple returned to their steamy session. Enjoying each other's company.

Sighing, Trisha entered the Thai themed restaurant. A few steps in, Elle waved from a table by the window side. She didn't waste time before walking towards her.

"Why do you like the window side so much?!", Trisha asked as she sat down. "And why do you like that boyfriend of yours so much?!", Elle asked back, receiving the scorching glare from Trisha.

It was a known fact between the both of them, Elle wasn't too fond of Collin, and she never approved their relationship .

Basically, every opportunity that came her way, she'll try to convince Trisha to dump him.

They soon ordered, finishing their meal in no time, all the while making small talk among each other.

"so, did he call you!!", Elle said, "Ohh come on elle, would you stop it!!", Trisha said, leaning back on her chair

She continued, "Maybe he had a long day at work today! I'll just call him tomorrow!".

"Fine then!", Elle said, before they both exited the restaurant.

Chapter 3 At arm's length

The following day, Trisha had just gotten off work when she got a call from Collin. She always wondered why he had a lackluster attitude toward her, even though they were dating.

She says wondered why he always kept her at arm's length, his attention to the relationship didn't even match hers. The affectionate and romantic Collin died after their relationship became 2 months old.

The perfect relationship she portrayed to her friends was only a facade. She lied to them, except for Elle, she sniffed out the truth after two weeks. Just telling them the truth meant embarrassment on a grand scale, and she couldn't handle it.

"Hello!", Trisha said, waiting for him to give his flimsy excuses all over again. "I'm so sorry babe, I just got out of a seven-hour yearly meeting!", Collin lied, as he enjoyed the gentle caress of Adriana's soft palms.

"Ohhh, you must have been busy!", Trisha replied. "Yes, I've been that busy!!!, Collin said.

"Let's sleep in tonight!!", Trisha said taking advantage of the situation. "Sleep in, at who's place?!", Collin asked, already having a hunch of what she meant.

"Yes, we can stay at your place!", Trisha replied, confirming the suspicion. Seeing Adriana's displeased expression, Collin quickly opposed the idea.

"let's just have dinner instead, my place is a mess!", Collin replied. "Ohh okay!", "I'll send the address then!", Collin said before cutting the call.

The same thing had been going on for several months now, every time she suggested she went over to his place, he would always make up an excuse, and then, they'll go out instead.

Immediately after she got off the phone with Collin, an incoming call from her mother disrupted her from starting her engines.

"Sweetie, how are you?", Paula Callister literally shrieked into Trisha's ear as usual.

"Ohh my God mom, you're going to spoil my phone and my ear one day!", Trisha said, smiling, it was the usual routine between mother and daughter.

"Whatever, fix your phone then!", Paula replied, rolling her eyes.

"You better not be rolling your eyes mom!", Trisha replied, chuckling, she knew her mother all too well.

"Fine, ill reduce my voice!!", Paula replied. "I cooked dinner!", she continued, in an attempt to get her daughter to visit her.

"Really?, I have a date with Collin like right now!!", Trisha said.

"oh okay. Just stop by afterward, I miss you!!", Paula said, bluntly admitting that she missed her daughter.

"Ohh, and touch up your makeup!", Paula reminded before she cut the call.

She headed to the address Collin sent her, hoping to have a nice meal with him, or, so she thought.
