Alexandra Reyes is a princess in her own world in a small town in Cebu. She was known for being the 'spoiled-brat-mayor's-daughter. "Life is short, so better live your life to the fullest," that is her motto in life but she seems to be overreacting because at the age of 21, she almost did every naughty thing you might think of, and she still has a lot of evil thoughts to do because based on her, she doesn't want to regret something when she grows older just because she was afraid to try different things. But what if life's play with her and taught her a lesson? Will she be able to face the consequence of all of her actions or just choose to give up?

Chapter 1 The Beginning

How many changes can occur in your life within the time span of 4 months?

How many times do you need to cry to numb yourself and to not feel the tiredness and pain?

How long does it take before all the suffering comes to an end?

It was an everyday question for her. When everything changed, she had been wondering how many more days or weeks she would have to endure alone. Sometimes, she wanted to run and escape everything but of course, she won't do that. Everything might change but Alexandra will keep on fighting and promise to not give up.

It was 10:15 in the morning but she was already sweating and tired. But Alexandra's natural beauty shone through. Anyone who saw her in any scenario couldn't dispute that she was stunning.

"Alex, room 417 is asking for a room cleaner," one of her coworkers reminded her. She nodded her head and smiled.

She was currently cleaning on one of the biggest rooms on the 3rd floor. It was a man who stayed in the room for 2 days so there were only a few messes. But Alexandra still needs to clean the room to assure that all the rooms are clean and their service was good.

It was almost lunchtime when she finished cleaning the rooms on the 3rd floor that was assigned to her. She plans on cleaning 3 more rooms before taking her lunch break.

She was pushing the cart with all the cleaning materials when a mosquito bit her in her arms that shocked her. Unfortunately, she lost her focus that she bumped into someone.

Some of the liquid detergents spilled into the woman's dress. Both of them was shocked.

"Fuck," she heard the woman curse.

Alexandra bowed her head, "I'm so sorry ma'am."

She bowed many times, hoping that the woman would forgive her. But of course, no wealthy person will let someone like her to go away with this kind of stupidity and mistakes.

Of course, she knew, she was once like them and the memories made her want to cry.

"What kind of stupidity is that?! Can you fucking use your eyes and look where you are going?!" the woman shouted while Alexandra chose to remain silent.

"Where is your manager? Why are you letting idiots work here?! Gosh, my outfit is ruined!"

"M-ma'am, I'm sorry. I'll take care of it. Please, don't let my management know about this. Please ma'am," Alexandra pleaded and couldn't help but to go near the woman and touch its hands.

"Don't fucking touch me, you, stupid trash! Argh, iw!" the woman pushed her, causing her to fall down. Alexandra immediately stood up and plead again but the woman kept on screaming. They start to get attention. Alexandra was also nervous because it might even reach their management.

The woman was still shouting when the assistant manager approached them.

"Ma'am, what happened?" the assistant manager asked the woman Alexandra bumped into before taking a glance at her and looking at her.

"That fucking stupid bitch," the woman pointed towards Alexandra's direction, "bumped into me! My outfit is now ruined, do you know how much it costs? Argh, what a big stupid! She's going to push the cart and used her eyes, still she managed to cause this mess!" the woman replied to the assistant manager while looking at her.

"On behalf of our workers, I am the one who apologizes. Our manager is requesting you to go to her office to discuss the damages," the manager bowed her head to the woman. The woman that Alexandra bumped into rolled her eyes before marching up to the elevator.

The assistant manager looked at Alexandra.

She remained silent while bowing her head.

"Next time, be careful. Not because you're related to the owner means you are allowed to spread your shitty attitude here. You are causing so much trouble. What a brat," The assistant manager spitted out while raising her eyebrow. Alexandra wanted to speak back and defend herself but she remained silent. She doesn't have the rights because she was a simple hotel stewardess and fighting back won't give her any good.

One of Alexandra's co-workers, Mika, approached her, "Are you okay? You can take a rest for a while, I'll take care of the assigned room to you," Mika said with a concerned voice. Alexandra appreciated it but she smiled before shaking her head.

"No need to worry, I'm fine. I can handle this, thank you," Alexandra answered with a smile. Everyone who had a chance to see her knows that it is a fake smile. Mika hugged her assured her that she can always come and talk to her.

"If you need someone, come and find me, okay? Don't forget to eat your lunch. Please, take care of yourself," Mika's last words before proceeding to the next room.

Alexandra took a deep breath. Then she arranged some of the materials that has been scattered due to the collision earlier.

After she finished picking the cleaning materials, she pushed the cart again. But this time she was pushing it with care, afraid that she might bumped into someone again.

Workers like her are not allowed to use the elevators. So, she proceeds to the door at the end of every hallway where you can find the stairs. She needs to clean the room number 417 that was on the 4th floor.

She was in the middle of walking upstairs when she felt her foot hurt. She couldn't help but to sit down on the staircase, letting herself to rest for a while before continuing her work.

The scenario earlier comes across her mind. She felt nervous and afraid. If she was the same Alexandra 4 months ago, she will definitely fight back. No one can shout at her like that and call her stupid but of course, that was all in the past.

Then she thought about all the changes to her life and to herself.

It was a total of 4 months before her life completely turned upside down. From a party girl to a hotel stewardess.

It was exhausting that she couldn't help to compare her old life to the situation she had right now. It seems like her everyday work is never-ending that she wanted to run and escape.

She needed to clean all the room that was assigned to her. She needed to please the customers. From going to work in 8:00 in the morning, from going home late at night at 10:00. She felt so done with it.

She misses her old life where she doesn't need to think of anything like this. Where there was no suffering. She was the boss and the princess in her own world, what happened?

She was used to this kind of life and routine. She was used to the feeling of exhaustion and pain. At first, it was hard but she can't do anything but to accept the fact that she had no choice. But does she have no choice?

Her train of thoughts stopped when a guy spoke.

She was nervous because they weren't allowed to take a rest during work hours. And the guy might be one of the guests and he might report her to their manager.

She had done enough stupidity for this day and she can't afford to make another one.

She stood up and was ready to apologize but she was surprised when she saw the guy's face. It was so familiar she went pale when she realized who the guy is.

"Surprise?" the guy spoke while wiggling his eyebrows. She felt annoyed but she immediately composed herself.

"Sir, guests are not allowed on this part of the hotel," she calms herself. She doesn't want to be rude in front of others especially when she was at work. Ah, some circumstances in life can change a person.

"Guest? Hmm..." the guy walked towards her direction. This kind of scene was familiar to her. "Am I a guest? Are you sure?" the guy mumbled in her ear and she realized, everything hasn't changed. That there are still some things about her that won't change. And this guy in front of her still can make her feel confused.

"What are you doing here?" she asked in disbelief while looking to his eyes. Her voice was weak and her hands are shaking. But most of all, she was embarrassed.

"Should I be the one asking that? What are you doing here?" it was full of pain and resentment and it made her feel uncomfortable. She doesn't know and she doesn't want to answer him so she gulped and bitted her lips.

"I tried to find you everywhere. No one gave me the answers. I tried my very best to find you but I didn't want to see you in this kind of place, doing shitty works and stuff." the guy looked at her in her eyes. Their closeness was making her feel the warmth but it was uncomfortable for her.

'Why?" she asked, "I don't need you. I don't need any of you. So please, leave me alone," Alexandra stood up, ready to push the cart again and leave, but what the guy said made her stop.

"Running again? Can't you do something aside from running?"

"Mind you, I am not running from anything," that was her final remarks before pushing the cart again.

Her thoughts are still in the unexpected scenario with the guy when she reached the 4th floor.

She went inside an empty room that is scheduled for her to clean. She felt so breathless. can't control herself she couldn't help but to sit on the floor.

A tear escape from her eyes before memories started to flash inside her mind.

Chapter 2 Flashback

"LET YOUR SELVES BE COMFORTABLE. ENJOY THE PARTYYYY! WOOOOHOOO!" Alexandra Reyes announced to her friends. Then she played a loud upbeat party song played and spread throughout their mansion. There's no special occasion nor celebration for her to party like that. But well, knowing Alexandra Reyes and her trips in life, she'll answer you "nothing, I just want to" In a sarcastic tone.

She and her friends seem to have their own world. Some of them were busy in the pool area, some are eating, some were drinking, and some were flirting on the other side. Alexandra? She was there, drowning in alcohol while laughing with some of her friends. They were enjoying and living their lives as if there will be no tomorrow. But that kind of scene didn't take long as one of their maids named Brenda run towards them.

"Ma'am, your father called us a few minutes ago, he said he is coming home," Brenda panicky said. Alexandra's eyes widened and she was stunned for a moment as if she was still processing what she had heard.

"WHAT?!-G-GUYS HURRY, DADDY IS COMING HOME!" she shouted but her friends didn't seem to care and mind about what she was saying. Well, she can't blame them because the party song is loud that it can hear throughout their mansion. Feeling annoyed, she stepped on the location of the DVD player. Without saying a word, she removed its plug. All her friends looked at her as if she was an alienated species. She rolled her eyes before shouting again.

"DADDY IS GOING HOME! IF YOU WANT TO BE IMPRISONED BECAUSE OF ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, THEN FINE! STAY HERE WHENEVER YOU WANT!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. Her friends all felt panic and, in a few seconds, they were all out of her sight and she was thankful for that. She was so shocked about the sudden news that her father would come home earlier; she didn't know what she said. She's not even sure if they can be charged and be in jail because of illegal possession of alcoholic drinks. What she knows is that there is only illegal possession of firearms.

Feeling relieved, she sat down on the sofa near her to relax a bit. She was relaxing, not until she noticed that the messes on the party are still there and not yet cleaned.

"Oh? What are you staring at? Can you all fucking move and help me clean this mess?!" She shouted at their maids. She was pointing out the mess in their house. All their maids immediately move and began clearing up the clutter. She was so annoyed she couldn't help but to roll her eyes. Then she picked up her phone before going to her room upstairs.

That was Alexandra Reyes; naughty, full of sarcasm, and a manipulative bitch. She was someone that you didn't want to fight with. She always made sure that she will end up winning in every situation she faced. She has lots of connections because of her father, but there is something about her that can make you follow her; her irresistible natural charm or her sharp-looking eyes that are full of coldness and authority but at the same time... hides a lot of pain?

"Ma'am, your father is asking you to come to his study room," Alexandra heard a soft knock on the door. Then it was followed by the voice of one of their maids.

"Why?" she asked and even though the maid won't see her, she raised her left eyebrow.

"He didn't say the reason ma'am. He ordered me to tell you that you need to come and talk to him and to make sure that you'll come and follow," the maid answered.

"All right, I'll follow," She answered before hearing footsteps moving away from her room.

Her father had arrived, she was lucky that their helpers were able to clean all the mess at the right time. She also made sure that they would not talk about the party she held in their house. Well, with the right amount of money, people can be lured and deceived. People are nothing but a gold fucking digger. That is how Alex' thinks.

"Dad, I heard you call for me. What do you need?" she didn't knock when she entered his daddy's study room, which is also an extension of his office. It was like a mini school library. With two big shelves that are full of different books and her father's working table in the middle of the room. There are also two chairs beside the table and a big sofa in front of it. It was all elegant but in a way that it suits her father's style very well.

Her father smiled at her and pointed to the chair beside the table.

"How are you?" her dad stopped doing the paper works in front of him and looked at her, which Alex finds unusual.

"I'm doing fine," she answered. She also followed it with a yawn. She wanted to show her dad that she had no plans to stay inside his study room, especially with him.

"I heard you held a party here earlier," her dad's tone was light. It seems that he didn't care about the rudeness that she showed. And it makes Alex uncomfortable. Knowing his father, he might need something from her.

She was nervous and wondering, but she didn't want his dad to notice it. She shrugged her shoulders as an answer. Then she remembered their maids whom she paid to shut up. She felt annoyed because they all made a promise that they won't tell it. In her mind, she was betrayed.

"I hope you and your friends waited for me so I can meet them," for Alex, this is not right. The current scenario is not right. There is nothing right with what is happening. She was feeling anxious about the situation she had with her father. On normal days, they are shouting and fighting. What happened?

"Cut the drama out, Dad. What do you need from me?" her voice was defiant. It is as if she's saying that she knows his real agenda and he can't fool her.

"I want to know if my daughter is doing well and if she's happy with her life," it was full of sincerity. There is a sudden emotion that Alexandra feels but she immediately swept it out the way.

Alex doesn't understand the situation anymore.

"Well, your daughter says that she is doing well. And oh, she was asking if you can fucking cut the drama out. It is making her uncomfortable and sick," Alexandra said. She spits out every word not minding what her father would feel. This is her. She doesn't care about whatever she would say and do. And her father is used to her and her bitchy attitude. Well, that is what she thought.

Out of the blue, there is a pain in his father's eye that appeared but after a while, it returned to normal. And when she said normal, she was talking about her father's usual stare. Serious and emotionless.

"I'm not getting any younger, Lexy. And we're not getting richer. Your grandfather's hotel businesses are all going bankrupt. We had unpaid debts and my salary as a public servant is not enough to support us," her father said. Alex didn't expect to hear from the father. Fear filled her chest. She didn't have any plans to be poor and not even in her wildest dreams. So, what is her father talking about?

"Dad, I said cut the drama out. All right, I'll do what you want. Just please, stop saying nonsense things." She stood up, preparing to leave the study room but what her daddy said made her stop.

"Lexy, your grandfather wants you to move to Manila. They will help you become a better and a well-mannered lady. This is for you Lexy. Just this once, follow your dad," her father's voice was full of plead. He was hoping that she will agree and leave the place where she was born.

She smiled in disbelief and shook her head.

"No. I won't ever leave this place. I will stay here until my very last breath. Just wish and pray, Dad, that maybe, just maybe, something happens that will make me change my mind."

Those were her last words before heading to the door. She was about to leave when his Daddy spoke again.

"Don't force me to do something that you wouldn't like, Alexandra. This is for you."

It was cold but her father's tone at that moment is colder than anything else. And that is all fine for Alexandra. It is way normal than what her father shows her earlier. The sincerity. The softness. The care. It is all peculiar and it bothers her a lot.

She just shook her head again before slamming the door open and closing it. She walked back to her room. All their helpers stopped what they were doing and bowed to her. Alex looked at them but her mind was too occupied with thoughts that she ignored them.

"No. I won't leave this place. I am the only thing that can make you remember all your mistakes and the only one that can put you in pain. So, I will stay here, until I saw you in tears and have nothing."

It was the only thing that is running in her mind. One thing about Alexandra. She is full of hatred for her father. She hates how he can help other people but cannot help her and her mother way back 10 years ago. How he can be so caring and delightful in front of others but be so cold and ruthless in front of her. She hates him. In Alexandra's mind, she wouldn't stop doing shitty things that can make her father in an 'awkward' position. She didn't care about how other people thought of her, as long as she can ruin her father's name, she is happy and contented.

Chapter 3 Her Old Self

"Hey bitch, how was your day?" Caroline greeted her as she entered the Empires; the place for rich spoiled brats and rebels like her. She was one of Alex's so-called "friends".

"It is normal and a little boring," Alex acted as if she was yawning. She walked towards Caroline, who was currently seating on the sofa. Alex sat beside her, "Can you make it more extraordinary and fun?" her tone is flirty and all, but she doesn't care at all. Caroline was a lesbian, a very attractive one. With her medium-length brown hair, together with her cute smile, anyone regardless of gender will fall for her.

Alex leaned closer to Caroline and looked at her straight in the eye before she kissed her near her lips. She smiled from ear to ear until Sevi spoke.

"Oh God, Alex, you and Caroline are so gross. Can you stop acting like that? Can't you see? I'm eating," Sevi, one of her father's friend's son spoke while pointing at the chips on the table.

Alex rolled her eyes then answered, "I'm just having fun and playing," then she sat properly.

"Oh? Is there no party or anything later? It's been a while since the last time we drank together," it was Queenie who spoke. She was the child of one of the biggest businessmen in their town, one of Alex's so-called friends.

"Yeah, Alex, speaking of the party. It's been a week since last time, and we haven't had much fun since your daddy came home. Earlier than we expect," it was Sevi who spoke again. It has been five days to be exact. Well, Alex and her dad? They are all acting normally. And when she says normal, people should know what she means.

"Am I the one who will plan again? Why don't you all try to plan or much better, do something so that we can party?" Alex said in a 'duh' tone while rolling her eyes.

All her friends went silent after that.

"Why don't we enjoy our stay here at Empires and buy some drinks and food?" Queenie suggested. Some of their friends nodded, agreeing with what Queenie said.

"Who will treat our drinks?" Dalia asked and looked at Alex as if she was trying to give Alex a hint, a reason for the others to look at her as well.

Alex raised her eyebrows, "What? Me? Again? Don't tell me you've got no money?" she asked them and looked at her friends one by one. They averted their eyes but no one tried to speak nor volunteer to treat and buy their drinks.

"What now? Oh, God. Are we going to drink or not?" the feeling of annoyance crept into Alex. She was little by little getting annoyed with her friends' silence.

"Can't you see, nobody wants to buy and owe the payment," it was Queenie who spoke again and she rolled her eyes. Alex saw it, she felt a little annoyed but at the same time, she felt excited.

Alex raised her eyebrows and pouted her lips, "Why don't you treat us, my dear Queenie? After all it's your idea to stay here at Empires," then Alex gave Queenie a smile. And she makes sure to give her the sweetest yet annoying smile that she can.

"And why don't you, Alex? You're the mayor's daughter, you have lots of money more than anyone here in this room," Queenie smiled at her, too. But it was fake. Annoyance is also visible in her eyes and it makes Alex more excited.

"Well, I can treat you all and buy food and drinks. But the thing is, it was my call last time, so why would I treat you this time?" Alex looked at Queenie straight into her eyes, "Why, my dear Queenie, you didn't have money? Gosh, are the rumors true? Is your parents' business getting bankrupt?" Alex 'tsk' at her, three times while shaking her head. She made sure that her expression is in 'aw' as she looks at Queenie.

Alex's act made Queenie pissed off. Queenie stood up and looks ready to fight with Alex when Caroline stood up.

"Oh gosh girls, stop that. Fine, it was my treat this time," Caroline spoke while shaking her head, it made Queenie stop. Caroline grabbed her bag then got her purse inside it she put five bluebills on top of the table.

"Oh, Caroline, thanks for saving Queenie. I love you. Mwah," Alex flew a kiss towards Caroline and the latter pretended to catch it. Then she looks at Queenie and winked at her. Queenie seems to feel disgusted, and to Alex, it is a game, and she's enjoying it. She felt satisfied because, in her mind, she won.

The other guys volunteered their selves to buy their drinks. Caroline shouldered all the payments. Foods and drinks, Caroline paid for it. It was Alex, Caroline, Queenie and some other gals who left here. They are all doing something while Alex? She was busy thinking about the talk she had with her dad.

Until now, what her dad told her could not be removed from her mind. She seems to be acting normal, but she was really nervous about what her dad can do. She knew, this time, he will make a way for him to get what he wants.

And of course, she won't ever leave the place where she was born. She won't let her dad to get what he wants. She won't let him escape nor forget the memory of the past and negligence he did to her, causing her to lose everything.

"Hey guys, we're here," her train of thoughts stopped when Sevi spoke and announced that they are back. He even lifted the plastic bags he was holding containing alcohol and some chips. He also served them glasses and snacks.

A few minutes later, they were all drinking quietly. It was getting boring. No pool, no loud music, it was just them, drinking while minding their own business.

"Oh God, I think I can be deaf with the loudness here," Alex spoke and sarcasm was obvious everywhere. But Alex can't help but to blurt it out.

"Uhm, Alex? We need to go. Sevi and the other gals are coming with me also," Queenie spoke up causing Alex to look at her. Alex didn't know if she'll be grateful that someone has already spoken or be annoyed because they're leaving.

"What? You'll leave me here? Alone?" she frowned. They have the guts to buy food and drinks then they are going to leave? Hell, Alex won't allow it.

"Not that we want to leave you alone, but the thing is, Kent is also coming at that party. The last thing I remembered; you can't stand being in the same room with him," oh yeah, the famous Kent Reyes. Alex's ex. It is not like she's bitter with him; it's just that his mere presence annoys the hell out of her.

"But how about this?" Alex said why pointing and pertaining about the drinks that they bought earlier.

"Hmm, it's all up to you what you do there. Throw it away or drink it. I don't care," Queenie answered before looking into the phone, "Don't think that we want to leave you here. I just saw Kent's post about hosting a party at the "The Bar" so I decided to chat with him. After a few chitchats, he invited us, including you," Queenie explained. Then she looked at Alex from head to toe, "but of course as a concerned friend, I knew that you can't stand being with Kent. So we better leave you here. Bye-bye Alex. Mwah." Queenie said while fixing her things then she gave Alex a flying kiss. Before Alex knew it, they all stormed out of the room and left her. Great. Just great. They left Alex, all alone inside the Empires.

Alex rolled her eyes before she leaned her head on the chair's headrest. She looked around the big but empty place, it was beautiful and fully furnished. It has a bar area but all their stock was all consumed. Then at the middle part, there has a big sofa and a center table. They named it "empires" because when they were inside of it, it is as if they are just minding their businesses. No one can stop them from doing anything. And it was like they were ruling their own life, not minding anyone.

Empires is a big two-story house that she and her friends bought last year so that they can have a place to chill out. But partying at Empires has no fun and thrill because no one can stop them. She and her friends all have a common trait; they all love attention and thrill. So they will hold a party at a place where they can have the thrill that they want.

Alex was still resting her head when she got really bored and annoyed at the thought of being alone.

She decided to drink another two cans of beer. She is a little tipsy and she can't even walk straight but the hell she cares. She was still sane when a great plan came into her mind.

She stood up and walked towards the mirror beside the lamp near the staircase.

She started to tie her t-shirt top upwards, revealing some skin on her belly. Then she opened two buttons, revealing her cleavage. Then she folded her skirt up, making it 4 inches above her knee. She ties her hair upwards, it was messy, but in a sexy way. Then she put make-up on and then she's ready.

Alex is indeed gorgeous and she was fully aware of it. She knows how to use her features so well. She grabbed her mini bag that is on the sofa where she sat earlier.

"This is why you shouldn't leave me alone here. It's time to party," she murmured. It was the last thing in her mind before going out in the Empires and trying to walk straight.
