Chapter 1 Barbados, Here I Come

Chapter 1

India's POV

As soon as the plane hit the tarmac, my gaze was all over the surroundings trying to find some elements of change.

It's really weird how a place I once knew all the nooks and crannies now seemed somewhat foreign to me. Grabbing my belongings, I adjusted my shades with hopes of concealing my identity

Being in the spotlight was great to some people but definitely not to me.

I've already had enough of the meet and greet on the plane.

The last thing I want is a recognition from someone which will lead to another round of awkward conversations even though I knew I was trying to avoid the inevitable.

The experience I had on the plane was enough to knock me off my feet.

Usually, my manager handles the storm the press brings but she couldn't join me due to unfinished work.

Being a renowned author with lots of accolades had its perks but it wasn't that comfortable for an introverted introvert who preferred silence over storm, writing romance over living them and communicating using my works over face-to-face conversation

Craning my neck, I frantically searched for my childhood best friend who was supposed to be here few minutes ago. She made me come all the way down to Barbados for her wedding.

Kelly can never be hidden

Not with her red hair and enormous forehead that made most people think we were a twin

I always hated my forehead but Kelly made me feel special about it, telling me that beauty is measured by the forehead.

Her words, not mine.

I spotted her holding up a card with my nickname written on it and something else...

Wait...

Is that a teddy bear??

Kelly always has a weird taste in gifts and she got a pink teddy bear knowing how much I detest the color.

Noticing my figure, she ran with great speed not caring about the looks she was getting from people.

Jumping on me, she dragged me into a bone crushing hug, one I never expected.

She squeezed my shoulder burying her face in the crook of the neck as the hug siphoned my breath, knocking my shades out of the way.

"Jeez Kelly....." I managed to choke out "I know you miss me that much but it's not enough reason to kill me " I spoke gasping for breath as she released me, now holding onto my shoulders.

She pecked my cheeks and played with them for a bit while I stroked her soft olive scented hair.

That little action made me go down memory lane recalling how we first met.

It was a kiddies fun fair event at the town park. Mom dropped me off and left, promising to come get me. Unable to socialize with other kids, I wandered around until a boy who looked huge and older than me walked up to me and pinched my cheeks, dragging them as he walked. I let out a shrill cry but no one was really paying attention until Kelly walked up and freed me, giving the bully a dose of his own medicine. Since then, we became friends, her constantly defending me because I lacked the confidence to do so.

"Yuh know I still can't get over the fact that you're now a renowned writer, baby!" She squealed gaining attention as I immediately fixed my shades to avoid any attention

Kelly relishes in being the center of attention but I detest it.

It's funny how we're so different but manage to keep a friendship for this long.

I guess it's true what they say, opposites attract.

"Still the island tomboy Indy" She called out staring at my converse "Yuck! you still have these old kicks?? Guess New York hasn't really changed you, huh?" She exclaimed

"How did my fashion choices become your business ''cause I don't remember asking you to look out for me " I pretended to be annoyed

"Sweetheart you became my business, my responsibility since the second I kicked that boy in the groin for bullying you " She narrowed her eyes trying to look like a strict mom "Hope he's able to have children " she muttered like a prayer and I couldn't resist barking out a laugh

"So" I began as we took a bit of a stroll " Who's this lovey dovey Chris that managed to sweep our little monstrous Kelly of her feet and she couldn't even find a spell to cast to bewitch him " I said pretending to ponder in order to create an effect

"Take that back, I'm not that bad " She scowled getting inside the waiting car

Joining her, I fastened my seatbelt while Kelly gave me an all too familiar look

"Still as uptight as ever, I see" She commented staring outside

"I'm simply obeying safety rules" I retorted "Now back to my question darlin'" I teased

"Chris is a really nice guy" She began, a red tint spreading over her face as her skin became a red tomato

Whoever this Chris is, he must certainly be an A level charmer to make the bold and fierce Kelly blush and smile sheepishly like a girl on her first date.

"Just nice? " I teased " Doesn't he charm your panties off you " I continued teasing as her skin flushed out of embarrassment

"Gosh stop it Indy. He's a good guy with a nice personality , good sense of humor and he smells really good. He's my dream man and though we had a really rocky start, we managed to carve our little piece of heaven outta here and that's what really matters..." Watching the glow shining from every pore of her skin as she talked about him made me a bit jealous. The deep sense of admiration and pride as she talked about her man, choosing the best words to describe him made my empty heart ache knowing that I may never have that with anyone. Other than writing romance, I don't have any other relationship with romance.

"Indy, India, India" I came to reality at the sound of Kelly's voice frantically calling out my name. I blinked back unshed tears that hung in my eyes threatening to fall.

"Damn Indy are you fine?? You scared the shit outta me" She asked searching my moist eyes

"I'm okay" I managed to croak out '' I'm just...

happy? Or should I say a tad bit overwhelmed. You know one minute we're island girls getting into trouble and finding our way out and the next minute we're here, you getting married and I am still trying to figure out my life as a writer in a foreign land. I'm just so happy that your dream wedding is coming true" I sobbed hugging her as she patted my back, circling it in a comforting manner.

"Puhlease" Kelly stressed out "I was born to wear dresses and put on flowers" she said as I choked out a laugh.

Kelly always managed to put me in the right mood.

"So what about you? Any New Yorker warming your boring bed every night?" She questioned with a mischievous grin in her eyes.

"Kelly" I reprimanded jokingly There's no one, no one at all" I stated staring down at my nails

" It doesn't necessarily have to be someone, yuh nuh, maybe just a certain part of the body that starts with the letter P" She teased

" Gosh Kelly, yuh so wild. I guh tell tell your creepy aunt for yuh" I spoke trying to make use of my Bajan accent after a long while

"And here I was thinking you had left our accent for a southern drawl" she cracked out as the car pulled up at her childhood home and we stepped out.

"You know, you haven't really told me how he proposed" I stated.

"Yeah, it was at the beach where we were having a lot of picnic. There were lots of flowers and coconut around and the moment just felt right as he went on one knee and bam! I accepted. Nothing too cheesy" she recounted.

"Wow! I said bringing out my jotter.

"Seriously?? India Seethal wanna use my proposal for her award winning stories? I feel honored" she said dramatically batting her eyelashes as she faked a squeal as I barked out a laugh".

"Since it seems I never live a romance, I guess I'll just tap from people's own" I sighed jotting down stuffs.

"You know, Chris has a lot of hot bachelor friends that could sweep you off your feet! " Kelly exclaimed.

"You know that'll never happen" I deadpanned

"Never say Never" she sing songed and hopped off while I smiled to myself dragging my stuff upstairs.

"Never say Never" I muttered to myself, a small smile playing on my lips. But...

Is that even possible??

Chapter 2 Meeting Mr Hottie

Chapter 2

India's POV

The sweet neckline of the corset dropped a little too low for my liking, putting my cleavages on display.

With a huff, I tried to drag it up but unfortunately, it is how it is.

The outfit was Kelly's choice, in line with the country theme.

The corset was decorated with gemstones which I paired with a pair of washed jeans that was cut at the knees to give a cool fashion vibe.

I let my hair down for almost the first time in a long while so I could put on the cowboy hat.

I have to admit, Kelly's fashion sense is top notch, the outfit fitted me like a second glove and I looked like a cowgirl from a jawbreaking country movie.

My makeup was light and somewhat flawless, just as I requested.

The black eyeliner made my green eyes pop. Complementing it with green mascara and lipgloss, the makeup gave me a natural look that I appreciated.

Pairing my look with a silver handbag and silver jewelry, I turned to put on the heels that Kelly claimed were custom made for me.

If there was anything I hated like wearing heels

Whenever I watch models strut down the stage gracefully with heels that look like a death sentence, I feel like I wasn't born complete due to my inability to wear heels without quivering in my catacombs.

I grabbed the louboutin heels, the shiny green almost blinding me

"I got this" I whispered to myself as I looked around wishing Kelly was here to help me.

Ughh!

Right now, I need some of her crazy motivational stories so I could put this death trap on my legs.

I seem to have a phobia for heels but I know I have to get this over with

Taking a needed deep breath, I slumped on the sofa, slowly gliding my hands on my legs while I admired the polish on my toenails.

It was white,my favorite color and that gave me a sudden peace even when I was in the middle of a turmoil.

I strapped the heels to my legs watching how it fitted me like a second glove.

But,

It is one thing to look pretty in it and another thing to walk pretty with them.

With my hands glued to the couch for all the support I can get, I stood and turned swiftly to the mirror, drinking in my appearance.

Everything was perfect

Or at least seems to be

Leaving the couch a little, I made a bit of effort to walk cautiously and gracefully, afraid of tripping at the same time but I knew I needed to do better.

Kelly would definitely not have me crawling like an old woman at her bachelorette party.

I moved swiftly, trying to strut like a model on a Victoria secret runway but all my efforts only earned me a twisted ankle that sent my butt crashing on the floor with a loud thud.

I moaned in pain, still rooted in that position before I struggled to massage my ankle a bit and seeing if it's dislocated.

Not dislocated so that's at least something.

Loosening the straps of the louboutin, I examined the purple bruise starting to form

So much for trying to walk like a model.

The pain seemed to be unending as I groaned in agony

"How the hell do people strut in these things effortlessly" I wondered out loud

"Perhaps you could ask Beyonce for some tips you know. I mean she did say that ''Pretty Hurts '' right?" A rich testesterone boomed dragging me out of my miserable situation.

The aura shifted unmistakably as a strange but mesmerizing cologne filled the air .

I sat there unable to move as the mystery guy's gaze at my back seemed to have trapped me in the same uncomfortable spot

After what I assumed as minutes of torturing silence, the man moved, his shoes hitting the ceramics and the sound was rhythmic and somewhat sexy

Wait........

Did I just call a man's walking steps sexy??

"Way to go, India" My ever active mind chastised me

With hopes and a sigh of relief that he was leaving, I stood up and turned, ready to employ Kelly's help to walk in these daredevils

I turned ready to go and booooom!

I came face to face with the booming but sexy voice that had managed to drag me out of my reverie earlier

For the first time in my life, I couldn't compose as my jaw dropped open in awe of the fine specimen before me with his looks like that of a greek god, my gaze drinking in his appearance from the crown of his head to the sole of his feet.

He was dressed in a smoldering suit that was tailored to perfection and fitted him like a second skin.

His blazer was off and his shirt untucked which gave him an informalish appearance.

The shirt clung to him and there was no doubt that he kept fit as he was well built.

The first few buttons on his shirt were undone showing a sneek peek of his tanned skin that had me clenching my thighs as I controlled the urge to run my hands over his drool worthy chest

His face.........

Now, that was sculpted to perfection with perfectly hollowed out cheeks

God definitely had enough clay while making him because he was near perfect

His hair was tousled to perfection, a shiny black that made me want to rake my hands through them in ecstasy

The grey stormy eyes he possessed actually did a lot to calm my melting insides

His sharp defined jaw felt like a blade that could pierce through this deafening silence.

His shaven face looked and smelled heavenly, a mix of aftershave and lavender

Lavender?!

Certainly not the type of cologne I would expect a guy to use but if it made me melt into a puddle, who am I to criticize?

He cleared his throat, a deep throaty sound that made me want to latch my hands on his collar and do the unthinkable.

His grunt however startled me, making me realize that I had been staring for too long.

Embarrassment flooded my face as I struggled to hide my face wishing the ground could just open and swallow me.

"I was just about leaving". I managed to stay so I could get away from our staring contest

"Are you okay?" He asked searching my face, concern etched on his face but that did nothing to make me stay for another round of awkward conversations

"I'm good" I said with a note of finality making my way to the door but not before gathering my stuffs

"Well, considering that fall I was thinking you were far from okay but you seem to deem yourself okay" He rasped walking up to me as I perceived a strawberry like cologne

Seriously?!

How many more mouthwatering cologne did this man use???

My face flushed even more (If that was possible) as I realized that he witnessed my embarrassing fall

"How long have you been standing there" I demanded, trying to employ a cold steel-like voice.

I could not turn to face him because my face may betray the emotions I tried to create

"Long enough to see that you're not a big fan of Louboutins " He replied coming closer and closer, my breath hitching in anticipation

"That ankle seemed to be sprained. A massage can help yuh nuh? " His voice dropped to a lower octave as my insides melted into ice cream

Great!

Now he was flirting with me!!!

Gosh, this is just like a scene I create in my books then why is it affecting me this much

I clamped my legs together not willing to lose my self control to a stranger I barely knew

Wearing one heels and holding the other, I reached out to grab my purse but it fell

With a slight huff, I bent to pick it but Mr Hottie had beat me to it, bending to help at almost the same time I did.

Our hands brushed as tingles occured all the way down my spine.

To avoid making a stupid decision, I immediately retreated, grabbing my purse as I smoothed the invisible wrinkles on my jeans while he stood there with a wicked smirk on his face.

I grabbed my lipstick from the vanity table and walked away, ignoring the voice in my head that urged me to go back and continue from where we left off.

That asshole had messed with my head and I won't give him another chance to do so.

"Just incase you changed your mind," His silk velvelty voice rolled off "The massage offer is still available " He sweetly concluded while I shuddered in response, not caring about the wild thumping of my heart or how my body reacted to his voice

"But not for long"He added walking out but not before brushing an invisible hair out of my face.

This action made me shiver, too shy to look at his reaction as he just realized the effect he has on me.

I shut my eyes as his footsteps rolled off until it became faint

Trying to keep my senses in check, I massaged my temple pacing around the room.

My heart was beating wildly, drumming with an unidentified emotion.

Just a few words and a brush of hands got me this riled up, then imagine a full blown kiss.

I shake my head, trying to keep my dirty thoughts at bay as I tried to concentrate on the fact that it was Kelly's bachelorette party.

As if on cue, Kelly entered the room looking every inch a bride to be

The blue corset was perfect with straps at the back. Pairing it with a short navy blue skirt that flaired, she put on a denim cowboy boot, closing it off with hat which had the opposite sides bent

She was oozing the hot and sexy country girl vibe

"And why is my maid of honor looking like she lost every bit of her sanity?" She threw the question at me looking inquisitive as ever

Typical Kelly

"I'm just nervous, I can't walk in these" I said gesturing to the heels she gave me " I might just trip and fall and then become an object of ridicule"

I panicked

"Oh puhlease, even if you do fall, don't you think that that'll make you become the centre of attention?" Kelly asked

"You've got absolutely nothing to worry about bitch, just put these and try not to sway too much when you walk and you'll be just fine" She continued

"Oh, and just so you know....if you fall a little, I'm just at the corner to catch you" She finished off underscoring her last statement with a wink while I grabbed a cowboy hat for myself

Kelly always knew how to take my mind off things for a while. She smiled sweetly as we began to move. It was her night and I would not let a conversation with a stranger to ruin it.

Kelly hosted the bachelorette party at a club downtown called Velocity.

The dark lights and putrid smell of sweat and sex hung in the air.

Not something I liked so much but it was fun to dance your problems off every once in a while

The girls were really warm and welcoming

Shayna was Kelly's lab partner turned friend, Taylor was Kelly's party mate and the rest were just a bunch of other party lovers that Kelly mingled with.

Despite the funny jokes, weird and drunk dances, challenging dares and endless flirting with guys in the club, my mind still managed to wander to those grey and stormy eyes

I don't know his name

I don't know where he comes from

Heck!!!

I don't know a thing about this mystery guy but what I know is that one moment with him has been marred into my memory in such a way that my thoughts can't help but be reminded about this Mr. Hottie and I can't help but have a feeling that we are bound to meet again in the near future.

Chapter 3 That Brunette...

Chapter 3

Roman's POV

The sound of unfiltered laughter coming from the room filled with guys does nothing to dull my curious mind.

I may have encountered many types of women some seem to be somewhat pleasant while others are not so memorable

But the lady in the dressing room has managed to captivate my attention.

All, or should I say most women master the art of putting and strutting in heels but seeing her try and fail miserably?

That makes her one of a kind

Seeing how she fell helplessly, I'm supposed to be amused or perhaps reach out a helping hand but instead, an unfamiliar feeling tucked at my heart as I stayed in silence.

When I broke the silence by answering a question she asked herself, that seemed to startle her

Seeing her figure seated on that floor made me want to rush over to her side. But because I was uncertain about what her reaction would be, I retreated watching her while enjoying the comfort the silence came with.

When she stood up and gracefully turned, I was met with the most delectable piece of ass

Her green orbs made me want to stare all day long

The ponytail gracefully swept her brunette hair with bangs framing her beautiful face

Her mouth formed an oval shape as she stared at me, seemingly liking what she is seeing but all I could picture was that mouth on my cock.

I could picture her on her knees giving me a blowjob that would send me straight to the heavens due to the pleasure.

Those lips....

Fuck!

They were soft and plump as I wondered how they would taste.

My blood went south and heat rushed to my groin.

My fingers were itching to bend her over that vanity table and show her how bad she was messing with me.

To avoid saying or doing anything drastic, I cleared my throat breaking our staring contest.

She seemed to be embarrassed that she was staring with her mouth agape as she lowered her head muttering something incoherent that I almost barked out a laugh but restrained.

Taking what she taught was the perfect excuse, her ass swayed as she walked away.

Feeling the need to draw her back, I asked about her wellbeing and offered her a massage for her probably sprained ankle.

When I walked close to her, I used that voice that made many girls melt and I had no doubt that it affected her because she seemed to be struggling with self control.

Her purse fell and we simultaneously bent to pick it, her hands brushing in the process.

The jolt of electricity as her hand brushed mine was unmistakable and she immediately distanced herself from me

"Hey Roman my man yuh refused a few chicks. What's up? Yuh awright?" Jimmy asked chugging down his beer while he offered me a bottle

"Yeah, not just in the mood I guess" I replied corking the bottle open before taking a well needed sip as I sighed

That brunette got me so riled up that I forgot what the word fun is

"A girl on your mind, I guess. She a hard nut to crack?" Jimmy pestered on while the guys kept on playing beer pong

"Nah, not really" I lied trying to avoid the conversation

"Hey Rome, come join us nigga" Walsh urged as noise erupted from the table

Might as well find something to forget about her, for now

"What yuh playing?" I tried making use of the famous Bajan accent I've been hearing since I landed in Barbados

"Okay, here's the game" Nate began. "It's pretty simple, you gotta keep a couple of bucks here everyone will do that and then you walk up to a girl we choose in this club and get her number. If you succeed, you get all the money stacked up but if you lose, you lose your money" he finished off

"Oh.... and everybody gotta get a number" he added

"doesn't that seem a little too highschool-ish?" I commented with disinterest

"C'mmon, it Chris' last night being single. We gotta make it worth it". Walsh urged on "okay Gus take your numbers, I'm 1" Nate began

"2" Walsh answered

"3" Jimmy echoed

"4" Wilder, the usually quiet one bellowed

"5" I continued with a nonchalant smirk

"Guys, I don't think I should join in this, I mean I'm engaged. Not sure I can walk up to a random girl and ask for her number" Chris defended weakly as he looked at me for support but all I could do was to give him a lazy smirk to which he rolled his eyes

"Bruh, you're not even married yet but plus ain't asking you to have sex with them, just a flirty conversation, her number and a make out session if you're so lucky" Nate grinned, his face matching that of a cheshire cat

"A number and a make out session??? God no! If Kelly finds out about this, she gon' castrate me alive, you know how riled up she gets." Chris exclaimed

"No offense man, but Kelly is one crazy bitch" Walsh commented earning a deadly glare from Chris who looked like he was about to explode

"I take that back" Walsh muttered wallowing into his seat

"You better" Chris growled

The game began excluding Chris who served as the spectator

I have to admit, it was really fun watch Walsh get slapped by a girl after he kept trailing her for her number.

Watching Nate trying to unhook a drunk and persistent girl who mistook a kiss for a make out session was Worth the game

Quiet Wilder was frightened after a crazy lady chugged lemonade down his chest only to lick it back

Jimmy was not spared either as his face was designed with the sole of a pissed off lady's heels

It was now my turn.

"Roman you see that hot chick with white hair over there, that's your forte" Nate ordered as I dropped a reasonable amount before moving over to my task.

The lady was engrossed in a conversation with a guy that she seemed cozy with

I cursed Nate, seething with anger as I knew I'd have to get the man out of the way first.

Scanning the room, I ordered a margarita and walked towards them.

I walked recklessly and intentionally poured the soda on the guy making it look like a mistake

"Oh fuck! I'm so sorry man, it's an honest mistake I rasped out pretending to be shocked

I'm sure the guys are having a blast watching me create this drama

"It's okay" the guy played it cool "I'm gonna go to the bathroom to take care of this. He gestured to his clothes and walked away

Great!

Standing at where the man was, I ordered two glass of Soda before having a good look at my task.

She was busty with pouty lips and a hot face good for a decent blowjob

I stared at her some more until she blurted a what the fuck do you want

Not scared by that, I sweet talked her and in just a few seconds, she was smiling and flirting back.

Well, that was easy

As my order was served, I passed her a glass and we resumed our discussion until I felt a heavy tap on my back

Brushing it off, I assumed it was one of the strippers who were looking for a guy

A loud bang on my head was all it took for me to turn and see who the hell hit me that hard

Wit furious anger, I turned ready to pounce on that person only to see that it was the white chick's buddy

Fuck! Walsh, Nate and the guys must be laughing their brains out

The guy's anger reflected in his eyes as he clenched and unclenched his fist

"It was a mistake" I said walking away to avoid trouble but the man was hell bent in having a heart

He threw a punch in my shoulder, I docked and without hesitation, I slammed my fist into his cheeks and he spat out blood.

Security became alert, they came to get the culprit

There was only one thing I knew I could do right then

Run!!!

Quickly, I made for the back door running with great speed but unfortunately, the club was heavily guarded they caught up with me.

I was taken taken to jail and what surprised me the most was seeing all the other guys right in there with me

"Hey mate" Walsh greeted dryly "had fun with the white chick?" he asked sarcastically

"This is not how I planned my bachelorette party to go" Chris groaned in annoyance burning his face in his lap

"Once upon a time, Nate introduced a game to us and it was so fun that we ended up in jail" Jimmy exclaimed in a high pitch voice.

There was no doubt that he was drunk

"C'mmon guys, it was fun" Nate defended. "But look at the bright side, you had the opportunity to spend a night in jail" he remarked earning deadly glares from all of us

"Yeah, fun enough so we could get stuck here and miss the wedding" Wilder mused

"Oh no" Chris shrieked "that can't happen, Kelly is probably gonna cut my head and put it on a platter" He said seemingly horrified

"We wouldn't have ended up here if only Roman knew how to get a girl" Walsh remarked coyly.

"You mean like how you got ten years of your life slapped off?" I sarcastically replied

"Say that one more time and..." Walsh threatened but was cut off by Chris

"We're supposed to be looking for a way out of this, not biting each other's head off" Chris chastised

"I think I have a phone in my boxers or something" Wilder searched and brought out a phone

"Wait.... you put your phone in your boxers? I asked amused

"Like you put cigarettes in your shoes?" Wilder retorted with a sly grin earning a chuckle from the guys.

"Touche" I muttered as my mind drifted off to the brunette in the dressing room

Wilder made some calls and after a few more torturing hours, we were out of this hell hole.

The ride back home was silent, only a few grunts from Chris.

We got out of the car to get some few hours of sleep in preparation for the big day

"And one more thing" Chris began "None of the ladies have to hear this. Whatever happened, stays between us. Bro code" He said

All the guys muttered in agreement

Now it was time to find the brunette who had managed to steal my attention.

I sighed in exhaustion of today's event.

So much for a bachelorette party!
