Unlucky inlove

Early in the morning in Nalan city was always quiet and peaceful, oh well not really early in the morning i could never know early in the morning because I'm always late for school.

I was walking alone for a long distance to school because all my class mates were staying at another village or town. But in the after school I would walk with juniors and other students from another school. Today was I was writing my English paper half yearly exam and on my way I met Kemal .

Kemal Collins was a guy who was always trying to talk to me since I was in primary school, oh and by the way I was now in high school. Everytime Kemal sees me he would try to talk to me. He would just grasp my arm and drag me aside leaving his friends who was always with him, but I didn't give him a chance I'd always fight him.

But today was different I was alone and he was alone too. I was about to pass his house when he saw me, he came and block my way " kayla can I talk to you please" he pleaded.

I was a bit scared of boys that time so I couldn't even talk properly. But I couldn't let him see that I was scared I'd always act brave but I was a bit shy in front of people.

"I'm late for school I can't talk right now" i said while walking.

And he kept on blocking my way and said " please just few minutes" when he saw that I keep pushing him away, he said "just few seconds please " I kept walking and he said " okay can I walk you to school please? " I didn't refuse or say yes I just kept quiet and continue to walk.

And he walked with me in silence for few minutes, it was like he didn't even know what he wanted to tell me. But that didn't last long until he broke the silence " you know that I have always liked you right? But now I'm inlove with you and I can't keep this to myself. I wanna be with you, please give me a chance."

He kept on talking, confessing his love for me and I didn't know what to say but even if I knew he wouldn't give me a chance to talk. He was now talking nervously and couldn't even stop himself from blabbering, until I stopped him

"Stop! I can't even hear myself thinking with you blabbering, please stop I have an exam to write you are confusing me now.

That when he let out a heavy sigh, the breath he didn't even know he was holding. " Kay I thought you gonna say you don't love me when you stopped me, thank Goodness you didn't turn me down.."

" Just stop this I have to go to school and please stop bothering me with your nonsense". What does he even know about love we are still kids

He started explaining himself " no it's not nonsense I truly love you so much Kayla Felan, please understand me.."

"Stop! Stop! Just stop please and leave my hand I want go to school, we'll talk later" I couldn't even remember when he took my hand and he was holding me so tight like he could not believe that he would get a chance to hold my hand.

He started smiling " you promise? You'll see me later? Please don't break your promise". He asked with his eyes shining from excitement.

" Yes I'll see you after school, now let me go please" he let go of my hand.

When I got to class everyone was seated at their places. My teacher, Mr Jackson just looked at me I could see in his eyes that he was disappointed in me " sorry I'm late.."

"Kayla just sit down before you disturb other learners" He said.

I took the seat and started checking my question paper. And we started writing after few minutes, after two hours it was time to close our papers and put the pens down.

I met my best friend Sweetie Harvest outside she was with our other friend Tricy Visitor chatting. When they saw me they were beaming I couldn't understand why.

"You guys seem to be very excited what happened ?"

Sweetie said while grinning from ear to ear " we saw you with the guy from H.H secondary school and you guys seemed like you were having serious conversation, what were you talking about?"

"Nothing actually he was just blabbering nonsense that's it". Said while concentrating on the orange I was peeling.

"Kay you can't just say that and leave us like this, tell us more we want to know please friend". They were looking at me with curiosity in their eyes.

I said not even looking at them I could feel their eyes on me. " he was just saying that he loves me and he wants me to give him a chance, that's it.

" that's it? Hey we want more, tell us more. What did you say?" They kept on asking questions after another.

I knew very well that they won't stop until I say something " I didn't say anything I just said I'll talk to him after school, not because I'm inlove with him I just wanted to get him off my back he was bothering me and he was not taking no for an answer".

"Yes he shouldn't take no for an answer" said Sweetie

"And then?" Tricy said.

"And then nothing " I said while eating my orange.

Sweetie slapped my arm playfully " hey you have to meet him " she said. " he likes you I knew it, everytime he looks at you I can see that he has it for you really bad.. or I should say good?" She laughed.

We all laughed and the siren went off.

While walking to class they kept on begging me to meet him and give him a chance.

Sweetie said " love Kemal is a good guy just give him a chance, don't let that handsome guy pass you by"

Tricy seconded " true my friend he is a loving and caring guy don't let him get away". She said while grinning from ear to ear

We went back to class for our natural science paper, it was an two hours paper." You can put your pens down now" Mr Jackson said.

After few minutes we were all in our way to the school cafeteria, we bought muffins and coffee. "Let's go home guys tomorrow we have another paper to write" I said while walking outside.

"Sure let's go girls" said Sweetie " don't forget to give us all the details tomorrow, mwah we love you.." she said while waving her hand and walking to the opposite direction with Tricy.

I walked alone for a while then I met my other friend Grace from H.H secondary school, she was Kemal's class mate. " hey girl" I said while waving my hand and walking towards her, " how are you friend?" I asked.

"Hey kay, I'm good". Grace said " how are you? I haven't seen you for a while now, where have you been?"

"I'm always studying hard in the afternoons, I have to work hard if want to go to the university next year" I told her,

" let's walk home together today" I said to her.

"Why do you seem nervous today? its not like it's our first time walking home together, what's wrong? You seem like you are in a hurry".

"No it's nothing just have lots of studying to do today that's it. Let's get going". I said

" Okay". She replied

We were laughing and chatting on our way home, until I heard him calling me. "Kay! Kay! Kayla!" I just kept walking pretending I didn't hear him.

"Hey someone is calling you" said Grace while turning back to see who it is. "It's Kemal let's wait for him, he's my class mate" she has already stopped walking but I kept walking. She pulled my hand "hey Kaymo stop walking, I know him ".

She was so excited. "Why are you stopping me, I haveto go home and study I'm writing tomorrow" when I turned to look at her I saw the excitement in her face. "Why are you excited?"

"Nothing I just like this guy, he's a good and handsome guy. He doesn't like to get into fights or arguments like other guys at school." Grace said

Before I could say anything he was already beside us "hey girls " he said " how was your exams Kay? I hope you wrote your papers well my love.." and I just looked at him for a while and said, " yes I wrote well it was my favorite subjects".I said

He looked at Grace and asked her " Grace how was school today?"

"School was not bad we were not doing anything important today just studying. Why didn't you come to school today?" Grace asked

"I had few things to do and I knew there were no classes today" he was starring at me, he didn't even give Grace a glance while talking. "Kay did you think of our conversation?" Kemal asked.

I just glance at him and continued walking, they started walking too. "No I didn't get time to think I was busy writing my papers" I said

Kemal said "Sorry for disturbing you on your exam period, I don't mean to confuse you or anything.. I just can't take this anymore.. I.. I'm.. Hey Grace can you give us a minute please?"

"No girl you don't have to go anywhere, there's nothing serious we can talk about here." I told Grace

He frowned "Kay please don't do that to me, I really need to talk you my love." Said Kemal " Grace please give us some space.."

"No" I said

"Grace please we'll talk later" said Kemal.

"Okay my friend Kemal seem to have something important he wants to talk to you about, so we will chat later dear" said Grace. She walked to join another group.

I turned to look at Kemal wanting to tell him where to get off but he stopped me with his finger "Kay I've been trying to talk to you for a while now and you didn't give me a chance " he said " I even send your other friend Neo from primary to talk to you for me. And you did not even give her a chance "

"She said you are not interested " Kemal said while frowning

And I could remember the day she came and told me about a guy who wants me but I didn't even give her a chance to tell me who it was.

" girl there is this guy who is a friend of my brother and my neighbor, he sent me tell you he would like to talk you. "

"Why is he send you ?" I asked

"He says he tried talking to you yesterday and you didn't let him breathe a word" Neo said.

"Okay tell him I don't have time today as you can see we lots of homeworks" I said

He kept coming with all his three friends everyday but they get chance to talk to me. And when I remember clearly the guy Neo was talking about it wasn't Kemal Collins, it was his best friend Freddy.

And all this time I thought it was him who had a thing for me until now. " uhmm! Oh!" I didn't know want to say.

"So what do you say? Will you give us chance? Will you be my girlfriend? Please say yes beautiful " he pleaded

And I said " I don't know I'll have to think about this first but for we can be friends that's it.

" Okay no problem we can be friends and see where it takes us, right?"

"Sure" I said in low voice.

With smile he said "from now on when I'm free I'll walk you to school and from school"

"Okay " I agreed. You never see me boy I'll find another way to school from now I thought. But deep down I knew the were not shotcuts to school, this was the only way that wasn't long. I frowned upon thinking about that.

We walked together and he was the one who was talking I was just nodding and saying no all the way. Until I was close to home and we said our goodbye.
