Can someone's goodbye be someone's new found love?

Chapter 1 1

The color purple.

As a result of the invasion of violets and mauves into her eyesight, she was unable to recognize any figures or configurations. It seemed as though she was still 10 feet below the surface of the water, both floating and sinking at the same time. Both suffocating and pleasurable, the drowning was neither of these things.

The liquids whirled about her in a fascinating manner, much like a magical potion is supposed to. There was a chromatic color that was cast behind the berry tones by the liquids, which shimmered. She wondered to herself, "Am I going to die?" on multiple occasions.

Not at all; it was not painful. On the one hand, it appeared as though her lungs were not receiving any oxygen, but on the other hand, it appeared as though she did not even have to breathe. As she floated in the void of the purple pool, she experienced a sense of being out of control of her body.

It was through the fog that she became aware that the sun was the only source of light in the peculiar environment, and that it was shining through the liquid with a radiant quality. In spite of the chilly weather, she felt as though she was wrapped in a warm blanket. In a proud display of illumination, the sphere was ablaze with flames of tangerine, which illuminated its surroundings.

Another shape appeared in her field of vision, and it was strikingly identical to the first.

To the right of the mother of day is where the moon stands.

There was an abrupt dissonance in the chord, which caused the harmony to be disrupted. It was as if the string of a violin had snapped in the middle of a piece, interrupting the tranquil feeling that had been present in the purple environment. A struggle for dominance had begun between the satellite and the star, and they came dangerously close to colliding with one another.

As they began to approach closer, she felt a tightening in her chest, as if they were ready to descend out of the sky and drop straight on her limbs. The hues of the thistle started shifting between blues and reds, flashing much like a light bulb that was about to burn out.

The need to yell came over her all of a sudden, and she wanted to halt the fighting between the two groups of people. As if her lips were severed from her nervous system, she tried to push them to open, but they refused to do so no matter how much power she exerted. As alternating flashes of crimson and cerulean appeared in her vision, she was paralyzed by an unseen force that chained down every muscle in her body.

She implored with her mind, wishing she could let out a loud cry, "Help, they won't stop fighting." Her lips were squeezed together, and the sound of a zipper that was stuck shut stifled the whimpers that were attempting to escape.

She was lying in the liquids, and the circles were getting closer and closer, and they were going to splash into the liquids. During the time that she prayed for a solution, her blood became icy and her panic courses through her veins. Only a few inches separated them from a collision.

Instantaneously, a wave of energy poured through her, and it felt like somebody had struck her with lightning.

"Luisa?"

As she quickly jolted awake on the queen-sized bed, she was greeted with a voice that sounded sleepy. Cold sweat began to build all over her body. As she looked around furiously, she breathed in an irregular manner. It turned out to be nothing more than a chamber constructed out of dark oak wood.

"Are you okay?"

When she looked down at the floor, where an air mattress was lying, she noticed an unexpectedly awake Javier partly sitting up in the striped sheets that she had brought with her. She almost dismissed the voice until she checked the floor instead. When she checked her pulse with two fingers, she let out a sigh of relief. She was attempting to determine whether or not she was still alive.

Before she thought about it, she admitted, "I-I don't know." She then pulled the fabric of the sweatshirt that she had stolen from her younger brother closer to her. A slight stretch was all that was required for him to clamber onto the bed, where he sat a little more than a foot away. "I woke up because you were kind of whimpering in your sleep; I could hear your breathing in my dreams." As he scratched the back of his neck, the brown hair that was falling carelessly over his eyebrows was a jumble. In spite of the fact that Luisa was hardly able to muster the bravery to gaze at his face, he was nearly charmed by the sight of his sleeping expression. "Bad dream?"

She gave a little sneer and then nodded her head. "Bad would be an understatement."

In order to determine the time, he rubbed his eyes and then turned his attention to the analog clock. This morning at 3:19 o'clock.

"Would you like to discuss it?" he inquired, despite the fact that he had never been in a scenario like this before. Even though she had just finished cleaning her teeth, Luisa continued to apply rose lip balm to her bottom lip, which was still coated with the product. The bitter floral taste almost turned her off, and she shrugged her shoulders.

With a sigh, she exhaled, "It was just really weird; I don't even know what was happening," as she leaned back on the palms of her hands. "I felt like I couldn't even move or scream-it was terrifying."

A brow was raised by Javier there. The paralysis of sleep? In his suggestion, "I used to get that a lot when I was a kid," she said, but her response was a shake of her head.

She said half-jokingly, "I understand the feeling, and I kind of wish it were a ten-foot-tall demon at the edge of my bed." "I don't know; there's no way I could explain it."Just for a moment, I felt."

"Don't think too much; you're shaking," he said with a grin as he placed his palm on the knee of her crossed legs. She was on the verge of cringing in response to the contact, but she immediately regained her composure.

She managed to swallow a lump that had grown in her throat without her knowledge, and a smirk crossed her lips lightly. She expressed it in a lighthearted manner, "Probably because it's cold as hell," in an effort to steer clear of the highly delicate subject matter.

In a humorous manner, he made the remark, "Yeah, it doesn't help that I'm sleeping on the ground with a mattress that doesn't retain heat," which caused her eyes to roll.

She whimpered, "You're the one who forced me to sleep on the bed!" as she recalled their disagreement regarding sleeping arrangements that had taken place earlier, which had lasted for 10 continuous minutes. Laughing out of exhaustion, he shrugged his shoulders and laughed again.

His emphasis on the final line, "I just wanted you to sleep comfortably; take it as me attempting to be a gentleman," caused her eyebrow to elevate. "I just wanted you to sleep comfortably."

"Gentleman?"Can you remember the occasion when you chased after me with your hand that had just been licked? His expression changed to one of a grin as a result of her gawking."

I am making an effort, as I have stated. It makes me happy to know that you do not sleep on something that is less comfy than the floor. Before climbing back onto the mattress, he took a quick glance at the mattress, which was already beginning to lose its air. I hope you get some rest, Luisa. He yawned as he pulled the striped comforter over his head and said, "Dwain's mother has a lot of things planned for tomorrow."

Luisa's bottom lip had remained slightly pursed outwards without any conscious effort, and she reluctantly repositioned herself on the blankets that had become chilly. As she drew the cushions on each side of her closer to her body, she experienced a resurgence of the apprehensive sensation that had been building up inside her chest.

During the time that she was attempting to close her eyes, the image of the suffocating violet liquids raced through her head once more. She could feel the water seeping through her lungs. Her terror caused her to swiftly open them, and she did so while staring at the ceiling and clinging to the blanket that she was hiding under.

"Goodnight." Javier spoke in a groggy manner from her left side, turning onto his side as the feeling of exhaustion made its way back into his life.

She looked over at the side that was too empty for her liking, and her eyebrows furrowed in concentration as she did so. She leaned down to the ground, and to her surprise, she saw him nodding off into a slumber while he was gently cradling the pillow in the shape of a cylinder to his chest.

On the surface of her sternum, she felt a hazy sensation, and she turned warm at the sight without even realizing it.

"Javier ?" She approached him with reluctance and cried out, which caused him to suddenly open his eyes.

"What's up?" He spoke in a slurred voice that was heavier and more raspy than usual. His slurred voice almost caused her to lose her balance, which resulted in her repositioning herself back into the cushion that she was finding to be uncomfortable. Before she spoke, she attempted to lick her lips and then let out a trembling breath.

To put it simply, I'm incredibly afraid, and I'm not sure what to do. Although you could find this to be ridiculous and absurd, I am certain that you do not.

As he laughed out of exhaustion, "Luisa, you don't have to freak out around me," he instructed. She was unable to view the half-grin that appeared on his face in response to the sound of her voice, which caused him to experience a whirlwind of conflicting feelings.

Yes, there is no reason for me to panic out because he is secure.

She took another deep breath out and then took a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking.

Would it be all right if I asked you to sleep on the bed with me? I am aware that the floor is... a little bit unpleasant. As he slept, she hurried through the final portion, which seemed practically incomprehensible to him.

She could hear him move towards the opposite side of the bed without uttering a single word, and she could feel the weight transfer to the point where it was balanced on both ends of the bed. The aroma of his freshly laundered clothes made its way to her nostrils, greeting her like a candle that was blazing in a lovely manner.

He joked, "My back can finally bend properly," while maintaining a respectful distance between them. "It's been a long struggle." There was a hesitant laugh that Luisa let out, and she did not dare to look over to her right. It seemed to her that the pillow was situated in the middle of the areas that they had in common, so establishing a physical boundary.

He hummed to himself, "Wake me up if you have another bad dream," while he was facing away from her. A pain began to develop in her chest as she caught sight of his brown mop of hair, and she gave him a fleeting glance before turning her attention away. She felt the dryness take control of her throat once more, which caused her eyes to slightly widen.

After she had totally closed her eyes, the only thing that remained was the feelings that were churning in her stomach. Her nightmare had stopped being a source of anxiety for her. She was overcome with feelings of guilt and satisfaction at the same time, as if she were playing the piano and two keys were placed close to each other.

She was confident that she was exhaling all of the oxygen from her lungs at this point, and as she pulled the blanket closer to her chin, she let out yet another trembling breath.

What kind of treatment do gentlemen provide you? Her heart was fluttering with a sensation that she had never experienced before, and she couldn't help but wonder about it.

Chapter 2 2

He was jolted out of his sleep by the sudden sound of snickering, which interrupted the gentle snores that were coming out of his nose. A set of eyelids fluttered up immediately after the sound of snickering. A faint groan came out of him as he became aware of the sounds of cameras clicking as his attention was drawn to the door that had opened slightly.

Was it another time that they drew a dick on my face?

By feeling his forehead and reaching his hand under his hair, he was able to determine that there was no evidence of ink whatsoever. With his bottom lip jutting outward, he made an effort to lengthen the rest of his limbs through stretching.

Try is the key word here.

In response to the unexpected restraint, Javier hesitated for a moment and furrowed one eyebrow toward the other. As soon as he became aware of this, a lump developed in his parched throat, and the aroma of the waves in the tropics tickled his neck. As he cautiously brought his focus to the tangle of hair that was resting on his chest, a mixture of anxiety and contentment began to well up within him. He then became aware of his arm being wrapped over her shoulders.

Her fist was resting next to her face, and she was slowly dozing off on top of his black t-shirt. She exhaled soft breaths as she released her fist. They had moved the cushion that had been placed between them to her side, which meant that the small amount of privacy that they had previously offered to one another had been removed.

When he reached this point, his eyes were widening, and he looked up at the ceiling, then back down at her, since he was thinking about all of the numerous possibilities that were available to him. Despite the fact that the sight of her calm rest caused his heart to flutter, he pondered whether he was simply hungry or whether the butterflies in his stomach had gone completely wild.

He inspected the long, dark lashes that reached her high cheekbones, as well as the eyebrows that she had been too sluggish to pluck exactly. He also paid attention to the eyebrows. When he became aware of her star-shaped pimple patches, which were located on both her chin and her forehead, the corner of his lip rose. Her lips stayed full and pink, nearly forming a smile, thanks to the gloss of her rose lip balm, which protected them from drying out.

He wouldn't have the slightest bit of doubt in your words if you told him that he was in heaven and that she was an angel.

When she looked over, she saw a name that he had almost forgotten about. The sound of her text notification ringing on the nightstand was the moment when she was confronted with reality. Before considering what he would do next, Javier went ahead and rolled his eyes and then closed them hard.

Initially, he moved his legs in a cautious manner, gradually bringing them closer to the headboard of the bed. As soon as the mattress made a squeaking sound, he took a deep breath in and paused for a moment before carefully removing her little hands from his sternum. When he had finished making sure that her head was supported by a pillow, he stood up and moved the blanket closer to her chin.

Unconsciously, her eyebrows began to move in the direction of each other, and she reached for the pillow that was closest to her. While she was squeezing herself in and protecting her eyes from the sunlight that was coming in through the blinds, she let out a little hum into her mouth.

During the time that Javier was admiring the sleeping beauty and running his hand over his unruly bedhead, he didn't even notice that his lips were rising. Shaking his head in response to the increasing sensation in his chest, Javier laughed as the color of his cheekbones began to change to a pinkish hue.

"What's got you smiling?"

Darrell's voice boomed out of the morning haze that she found herself in as she walked down the stairs wearing the big hoodie that she had draped over her body. Her stomach grumbled in an annoying manner as she went into a spiral brought on by the aroma of maple syrup.

"Huh?" Although she was conscious of the slight grin that had been pasted on her face ever since she had gotten out of bed, she had hesitated at the lowest step. In spite of the fact that Javier was nowhere to be found, she could still detect the residual odor of his detergent.

The young man laughed as they made their way to the kitchen together, both of them being the last people to wake up (with the exception of Dexter, of course). "Slept well last night, huh?" The tone he used was playful, which only served to increase her level of perplexity. Her lips were pursed and her chin was furrowed as she looked up at the sky in deep thought.

She shrugged her shoulders and approached the kitchen, the tiles beneath her toes feeling icy cold. "I mean, I guess," she said. As soon as she arrived, any and all of the figures that were encircling the island glanced at her.

While Carlene was preparing dishes for the people who were waiting in line, she sported the most ridiculous grin on her face and was singing a light melody. While he was leaning on Augustus for support, Jordon could hardly restrain his uncontrollable laughing. Taking a seat behind Lottie while holding a dish in her hand, Luisa observed the looks on all of their faces.

"Where's Dwain?" She turned her attention away from the unexplained awkwardness and looked around only to discover that the birthday guy, who had a short fuse, was nowhere to be found.

The messy-haired brunette responded, "Next door, I think he's eating with his mom on the balcony," as loose strands of her hair fell out of her bun. As she arrived at the location where the meals were being served, she reached for a few strawberries that were on her plate and licked her lips in eager anticipation.

"Didn't know you guys were roommates." As Carlene made her observation, she focused her attention on the young man with brown hair. Once more, Luisa shrugged her shoulders in a confused manner, knitting her eyebrows in amazement.

It was her response that caused Lottie's eyes to widen. "I mean, he slept on the air mattress," she informed him. She has no recollection of it. As she sat down next to Suzanne, she thought to herself, "That is adorable."

There is little doubt that Javier was the recipient of all of the taunting remarks that they refrained from delivering to Luisa, Gregory, and Jordon. They could be seen puckering their lips and making annoying smooching sounds. A moan of irritation could be heard coming from him as he stuffed his face with waffles that were drenched in maple syrup. His cheeks were still flushed with a warm tone.

"What's the plan for today?" Because of his insatiable appetite, Luisa was able to avoid any further humiliation, which would have otherwise resulted in him choking on the amount of food that was pushed into his cheeks. She gave him a fleeting glance, restraining her amusement as she saw that he looked like a chipmunk.

"The weather is beautiful; I think we're going on a hike." Next to Augustus, Carlene took a seat and responded to the question. They all diverted their attention away from the rising scene of pine trees stacked next to one another outside of the huge window, which appeared strange and mystical from a mile away.

"Dwain said he wanted to go jet skiing!" Darrell was also present. Although Jordon was gazing at the weather on his phone, he expressed his disgust by shaking his head.

It is surprising to me that the lake did not turn into ice the previous night. The tone of his voice was one of caution, and his eyes rolled as he replied, "You can go-if you want to fall in and freeze to death."

"Anyways, Ms. Stone asked to inform you all of one thing." Over time, Carlene was able to captivate the attention of the other individuals.

"Make sure Dwain doesn't go into his dad's office today."

Their perplexity caused a momentary pause in the conversation in the kitchen, which prompted Augustus to tilt his head in an inquisitive manner. "What is it? "Why would he go in there?" he queried out loud, causing Lottie to fidget uneasily while she attempted to keep her lips sealed.

We are unsure. It wasn't a bug that I did." Through the use of a shrug, Carlene was able to conceal the fact that she was trying to speak the truth.

She was not even sure of herself, if she were to be completely honest. Because Felicia was not aware of the entire Luisa scenario, the peculiar request was made without her awareness. This means that she would not have even been aware that Dwain had come to look at his father's office. Despite the fact that it caused an uneasy sensation to arise in her chest, she was able to tell herself that her intuition was just being deceitful.

Luisa made her way to the room that she shared with Javier and began searching through her luggage in order to get ready for the day. This occurred as a playful breakfast was coming to a close. Upon pulling up her sleeves, she let out a sigh of relief as she observed that the bruises had already diminished in appearance.

She had a thought that went something like this: "Thank the moon for magical healing shite."

In anticipation of the crinkling sound that a ziplock bag would make, she reached inside the small pocket of her bag. Her sense of relief progressively diminished as she did so.

As she fumbled with her beautifully folded clothes for the weekend and triple checked all of her toiletry pouches for the sound of a bottle rattling, she was sent into a temporary panic mode. She bit down on her lips as she did this. She let out a small huff and sat down on her bottom, with her legs spread out in front of her and her suitcase which was not very neat in the middle of the seat.

"Looking for this?"

She flinched in response to the voice that she recognized; she was still not accustomed to his unexpected arrivals. The young man with the dark hair shut the door behind him while holding the plastic bag containing the orange prescription bottle in his left hand. Her neck snapped to the door during this moment.

She yelled out in a commanding tone, "Dwain," as she jumped up to grab it. With a sneer on his lips, he held it over his head, aware that his height provided him an advantage over the other person.

He whispered, "Wow, not even a happy birthday," which caused her eyebrows to fall. "Happy birthday?"

"Have a wonderful birthday, you jerk. Those are the drugs that I use for my anxiety; I won't be able to make it through the day without them," she said almost angrily.

His lips came out in a scoff as he looked down at her with a smile of amusement on his face. "You had a weird dream last night, didn't you?" He summoned her, causing her to swallow the dryness that had developed in her throat.

"How did you know?"

Once again, he let forth a different sound from his throat. "Girls with boyfriends don't typically cuddle with other boys-I'd assume nightmares would be an exception for you."

While Luisa was attempting to recall the hazy memories from the previous night, she became increasingly distracted. The only thing that she could recall with absolute clarity was the color purple, which caused her to tremble at the mere thought of it.

The white hoodie you are wearing is covered in black lint. In a surprising turn of events, I had the impression that you were having a hallucination. The bags that were beneath his eyes had become a little darker, and he rolled his eyes in an annoying manner.

During the process of connecting the dots, she gazed up in thought, the aroma of his cotton detergent bringing to mind the shards of the previous night that she was able to recall. As she came to terms with the situation, her face became pale, and her eyes widened.

"I- What is it? How are signals received by you? "What has that to do with my medicine?" Exasperated, she expressed her emotions by wailing and waving her fists around.

His expression indicated that he was already exhausted by her inquiries; the pill bottle was still out of her grasp. "I'm still not sure. It's not even close to becoming a prodigy. His shrug caused her lips to pull down in irritation, and she shook her head.

The expression on Dwain's face remained impassive as she mouthed to herself, "It's a prodigy thing," while simulating the tone and expression of the other person.

"Anyway," he exhaled, clenching his teeth firmly and biting his tongue. "If the lake chose you, I'd suggest not taking these." The taunting sound of the medications rattling caused her eyes to squint in aggravation so that she could see better.

"Anxiety medications are designed to target your brain; they interfere with your spirituality; in your case, they are suppressants. "I'm not a genius, but that's what I've learnt from WebMD and our personal chemical genius, Carlene Simmons.

She stared up at him with apprehension, still perplexed by his words.

As she crossed her arms, she muttered, "What the hell does all of that mean all of that?"

"There is already a lot of nonsense going on with you; the fact that you are close to Lake Dreamstream does not help" You won't have any problems without them; in fact, it's likely that they were the reason you didn't even believe you could shift. As he continued to glance up at the orange bottle that was glowing in the sunlight, he gave a shake of his head. With a hint of hesitation, Luisa pursed her lips.

His reasoning was not in question. In fact, it was one of the first things that began to detect her before anything else. As she took a quick glance at the enormous body of water that was located in their backyard, she was overcome with a sensation of awe.

"Fine, but the moment I feel the urge to attack or do anything else, I'm searching your room for it." Her warning was met with a disinterested shrug from him.

"No matter what, get ready for the hike," he added as he stuffed it into the pocket of his hoodie and turned the knob. A moment before he left the building, he stopped what he was doing and stood in the middle of the entranceway. He looked up for a brief moment, simply gazing slightly over his shoulder before he parted his lips to speak. He was completely absorbed in his thoughts. "Don't wander off by yourself."

Chapter 3 3

"And what's the last rule of the hike?" Aera sang while staring down at the two teenagers who were a part of the ensemble. Keeping her knuckles pressed on the torso of her pink puffy jacket, Ellen held her head high in the air.

Together, she and Chesterg yelled out in unison, "Always stick with your buddy!" as they linked arms and sprinted in the direction of their respective fathers.

The fairly cumbersome item was brought to Dexter's attention as he gave a little smile in response to their youthful laughter. As Darrell focused the lens at the path that was in front of them, the sound of the lens clicking caused a groan to accompany it.

He complained, "We just entered the actual forest, and you've taken twenty photos," while putting his phone up to get some form of reception. "I do not know what you are doing."

When Lottie was strolling alongside her partner, she rolled her eyes and walked with a lot of energy in her steps. While she was walking up the incline without any difficulty, she hummed, "I think your photographs are incredible."

A different female, on the other hand, was already gasping for air and her lips were beginning to form an expression of exhaustion.

She screamed out in a dramatic manner, "I think I'm going to die-just go on without me," as she stretched out for the tall boy who was in front of her. Her thighs were burning. The exaggeration that she made caused Dwain to laugh, and he took her hand in his. The fact that Carlene was one of the group's weaker links caused her to huff as she glanced at people who were ahead of her, including their personal military officer and athletes competing at the D-1 level.

Do not be concerned; I do not believe that I have worked out since I was in high school. All I do is spend the entire day working behind a counter. While she was going at the same rate as Gregory, a voice could be heard behind her. Suzanne smiled as she observed the nature around her reflecting lovely shades of green, despite the fact that spring had just begun to arrive. This was despite the fact that she was taking heavy breaths out of her lungs.

"If only there were some nature goddess to give me the strength to walk up this mountain." Augustus, who was walking at the same rate as the adults, caused Jordon to cry out as she struggled to keep up with her brother.

While Luisa was following closely behind the two of them, he let out a loud laugh at his complaints. Her gaze strayed to take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding area, and she was mesmerized by the leaves that were blossoming despite the cold winter weather. The bushes were already producing fruit, giving the impression that they were utterly oblivious to the changing of the seasons. This added a splash of color to the otherwise bright path.

All she could do was let out a breath of admiration, wishing that she could remain for just a little bit longer. She cast a peek to her right and smiled unconsciously as she noticed that Javier was experiencing the same level of astonishment as she was.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" She gently prodded him, which caused him to jolt him back into the present moment. During the process of scratching the back of his neck, he looked up and noticed that the sun's rays were penetrating the branches that were reaching out.

"It is absolutely breathtaking. You are aware that Dreamstream is famous for that, right?

Luisa cocked her head to the side in fascination, shaking her head to demonstrate her lack of knowledge. As she was growing up, she experienced feelings of insecurity over her social standing because it was not typical for families from the middle class to take a vacation in a forest of wonder every year.

They never die; they simply bloom in a variety of ways throughout the entire year. These flowers were blue the last time I came here in the summer. "The plants grow differently here." In other words, they never die. By pointing to a bed of petals, he described it as an ocean of violet with frost created at the tips of the petals.

The sight of purple caused her stomach to churn with pain, serving as a continual reminder of the terrible dream she had the previous night. Her smile was pushed out, and she responded with a nod of her head. She said this with a sense of wonder as she kicked a rock beneath her boots. "So that's what you guys meant when you said the geography here was different," she said for the first time.

Suddenly, the chilly air touched her neck with a peculiar sensation, which prompted her to stop what she was doing and check both left and right for the person responsible for the incident. As Javier paused alongside her, he tilted his head to see the frantic expression on her face.

"Are you okay?"

She was able to snap out of her fantasies and find her way back to reality, where she discovered that a couple of other people had passed them over. She brought her hand up to her flesh and then timidly nodded her head in his direction.

Her senses were satiated by the sound of leaves crunching beneath her feet as she continued to follow in their tracks. She went out of her way to reach the leaves that were not on the trail. A childlike expression began to appear on her face, and she began to bounce around like a child on the playground. Javier observed as this occurred. With her neck craning upwards, she stared up at the branches of wispy petals that were hanging above her. The waves in her hair swirled in the zephyr that enveloped them.

It wasn't until she looked up that she noticed the smile that was on his face; once she did, she realized that he was smiling straight back at her.

"What?" When Luisa returned to his side, he did so with a slight bump on his shoulder. The sensation of their elbows brushing against each other every few seconds caused them to intensify their speed with each other. He shook his head and drank down the dryness that was in his mouth as he refocused his attention on the path that lay before him.

Her senses were once again assaulted by a chilling sensation, which this time began at her fingertips and spread all the way through her forearms. She sped up her speed, attempting to ignore it for a minute, but she ended up falling over a tree root that was concealed beneath the leaves that were scattered around.

"Watch out." Her shoulder was suddenly grasped by Javier , which prevented her from falling onto her face and causing her to feel embarrassed. Both of them came to a halt as his hand continued to be wrapped around her back, and the warmth of his flesh continued to radiate through her clothing. The same warmth came to her face as she stared blankly at the ground, and she did it without any conscious effort.

Darrell, who was standing close to the front of the group, shook his head and looked about at their situation. "There is still a considerable distance to travel; quicken your pace!" he yelled to the rear of the group. While Dwain was observing them with a look of annoyance, he was also experiencing an unwelcome wave of panic that washed over him.

The thought occurred to him, "She's getting the rushes." In an effort to encourage him to keep up with the rest of the group, Carlene pulled at the cuff of his jacket.

Luisa regained her composure and wiped herself off as she walked up the slope, her calves showing through the leggings she was wearing despite the descent. In a gradual manner, her palms started to become clammy, and she wiped them helplessly on the dry-fit material that was in her pockets. During this process, she severed her relationship with Javier and found herself in close proximity to another pair. Suzanne and Gregory were able to observe her agitated countenance, which included beads of sweat developing at her temples, despite the fact that the weather was frigid.

This foreign term, "ignis vitae," was repeated over and over again.

As she brought her palm to her ear, her head began to jerk in a spastic manner, and the refreshing sensation of a breath that smelled like mint spread down her spine. Even the sound of the leaves crunching beneath her shoes was not able to drown out the sound of what sounded like gibberish, which became increasingly loud with each step that she took.

Her worry was completely unnoticed by the others, who had gone on. Gregory and Suzanne maintained their distance from her as they watched her breaths become noticeably irregular and her complexion turn a pale tone.

"Luis-"

Under her trembling breaths, she mumbled, "Ignis vitae, ignis vitae," as she shook her head. She felt as if she were torn between two different climates, as her body temperature had increased, and she was also experiencing occasional surges of chilling breezes that were sparking through her. The temperatures were so drastically different from one another that it felt like she was trapped in the middle of the desert with icicles biting through her flesh.

"Ignut, what now?" As Gregory gingerly laid a hand on her trembling limbs, his face contorted into a startled expression of bewilderment. As she quickly retreated, she came dangerously close to colliding with the trunk of a tree. As she watched her in terror, Suzanne felt an overwhelming sense of shame that she could not explain.

Luisa brought her quivering hands to her periphery, and as the sweat rose above her palms, she let out a squeak that was light and airy. When she was in a state of fear, the last thing she wanted to deal with was shifting the water.

"M-Luisa?" A gasp came out of Suzanne's mouth as she watched the liquid transform into a violet hue. To the best of her understanding, she was just a fire shifter of the Argenta race; why would she be able to levitate water?

Without a doubt, Gregory likewise found himself in a state of panic. As he stood there, transfixed, watching the girl psychologically damage herself, with drops of purple hovering in her palms, he struggled to find the appropriate words to say, or even if he should say anything at all. He remained there watching her destroy herself.

She was hearing the sentence again and over again, and it was becoming increasingly louder and louder in her ears. In the terrifying speech, the phrase "ignis vitae" hissed. When the sun's rays penetrate the leaves, they strike the flesh on her face, causing it to feel as if it were being burned by metal. In spite of the fact that she was clenching her fists around the water, she managed to suppress the need to scream.

"Snap out of it."

There was a pair of hands that were around her wrists. Although Luisa was unable to collect the courage to look up, the water that was falling on the leaves that had fallen beneath her created a little pool.

"Dwain, please give me my medicine," she insisted, but he responded with a little scoff when she did so.

"If you really want to know what's happening here," he added, tightening his grip on one of her wrists and effectively cutting off the circulation to her fingertips when he remarked, "You're weak."

"You need to deal with it here." His index finger reached up to her head, which allowed her left arm to be released at last.

The girl shook as he released his grip on her, and she looked up at him with wide eyes. "Are you going to deal with it? You want me to handle the powers that I've accumulated over the course of eighteen years as if I were a prodigy? Despite the fact that she kept her voice low in order to avoid being provoked by the group that was in front of her, her attitude was still as sharp as a viper.

A sign of annoyance appeared on Dwain's face as his patience began to wear thin. When I went into the woods, I was well aware that it was a poor decision. Within his head, he muttered a curse to himself, wishing that he could escape into one of the cabin's hidden rooms.

"Are you guys coming? The view is insane!" Because of Dexter's voice, their stress was relieved. As Dwain peered forward, he noticed that there was not much of a path, and he picked up on the aroma of water that was completely clear. Additionally, he was able to hear peaceful crashes, which prompted him to move some distance forward.

He murmured under his breath, "You heard him," as he hurriedly caught up with the others and took a few steps forward.

She climbed the slope with a furious demeanor, ignoring the searing echoes that were flowing through her brain as she rose. She performed a bodily shake to the left and right, maintaining a low position, and keeping a close eye on her feet to ensure that they did not collide with one another. The sounds of a thundering waterfall went ignored by her as she halted her movements as she saw a variety of pairs of shoes entering her field of vision.

There was a waterfall of pure blue that descended from the height and landed as softly as it could into the mouth. She felt a refreshing mist that landed on her face and sprinkled itself into her cheeks. In the moment that she was watching the two children stoop over the side of the body in order to get a better look at the tadpoles, she was pulled back to reality by the sound of laughter. Changing the color of the wave that she was holding in her hands, Carlene was able to create a rainbow of colors.

When she peered into the rippling sheet of water, she felt a sense of security settle over her shoulders. There was a part of her that wanted to reach out, to bring different kinds of droplets to her fingertips, but she was aware that she was unable to do so.

Being in the water, on the other hand, was sufficient to stop the flames that were raging inside of her chest.
