Three years ago!
"Samantha, hurry up quickly! Hurry with the keys. She's losing a lot of blood! We need to rush her to the hospital as quickly as possible!" Mr Stephen Davis' thunderous voice echoed in the living room.
One of his daughters had just fallen off the staircase and was lying unconsciously on the floor. She was in the pool of her own blood.
The living room was filled with blood.
Mrs Samantha Davis, his wife, quickly rushed out of the master bedroom with the car keys to take the unconscious girl to the hospital.
Mr Stephen Davis snatched the keys from her hand in anxiety.
He was not a Doctor, but he could tell from the amount of blood oozing out of the unconscious girl that, if he delayed for even a second, the chances of him losing his precious daughter was close to certain.
He lifted the unconscious girl up from the floor and dashed out of the house like a lunatic. He placed the young girl at the back seat of the car.
Mrs Samantha Davis quickly opened the car, sat down, and placed the unconscious girl's head on her laps.
Upon entering the car, Mr Stephen Davis quickly sped off onto the streets as though on a police chase.
Since it was past 11:00 o'clock midnight, there was no traffic in town and they managed to reach the Hospital within 15 to 20 minutes later.
Mr Stephen Davis started shouting hysterically at the entrance of Fairfield Teaching Hospital upon their arrival.
"Help! Help us. Please! It's an emergency! Someone please call a Doctor, please!" While saying this, he lifted his baby girl from the back seat and rushed her into the emergency ward.
A female nurse quickly came out with a stretcher upon hearing the commotion.
But the man was in a hurry and was running helter-skelter, such that, the nurse couldn't catch up with him.
So, she found herself pulling the empty stretcher behind them.
Mr Stephen Davis placed the unconscious lady on one of the hospital beds as he cried out desperately. "Someone get me a Doctor! Please! She has lost so much blood, I'm losing my baby girl! Hurry up. Please! get me a Doctor!"
Mrs Samantha Davis was a middle-aged woman, who could not keep up with her husband's pace and came in minutes later.
A well-dressed middle-aged man in white clothes walked into the emergency ward. He quickly checked the unconscious girl's pulse and attended to her immediately.
"Please wait outside, we need to attend to her." He ordered the family of the unconscious lady.
After about ten minutes, he came out of the emergency ward with a team of doctors and nurses.
They were pulling an unconscious lady on a stretcher to a different ward.
Mr Stephen Davis immediately recognized it was his little girl and asked the doctor frantically, "Where are you taking her to?"
Doctor Andrews Jones replied, "The patient lost a lot of blood and it's very detrimental to her health. We are taking her for surgery immediately, and she needs a blood transfusion."
"Don't worry! I will donate my blood to her." Mr Stephen Davis said.
Upon hearing this statement, Mrs Samantha Davis' face twitched awkwardly. "Honey, let me donate the blood. Don't worry, I'll donate the blood to our baby girl." She suggested.
"What are you talking about? I'm the man here and I'm her father, I need to donate my blood to my baby girl, and I don't have time to banter words with you right now."
Upon saying this, he faced Doctor Andrews Jones and said, "Doc, please take my blood. I'll donate to my daughter."
"Okay! Please follow me." The Doctor ordered and they rushed to a different ward.
"We need to examine your blood to make sure there are no illnesses and also to make sure you are a match." Doctor Andrews Jones explained.
"Come on Doc, my daughter does not have the luxury of time right now. She's dying and needs to be saved as quickly as possible. She's my own daughter, just take my blood. I'm physically fit and I don't have any illnesses." Mr Stephen Davis said impatiently.
"I know that, but it's a procedure everywhere. I need to follow it to be sure there are no mistakes. Else, instead of trying to save your daughter, we might actually kill her for you." Doctor Andrews Jones educated.
"Okay, fine! Please do everything possible to save my baby girl for me." Mr Stephen Davis pleaded.
"Don't worry, it's my job." The Doctor assured.
The blood sample was taken and tested.
"The results will be out later and it's already late. You can just go home and wait for the results. The patient's condition is stable now. All we have to do is to administer the blood transfusion and everything will be alright. Therefore, she's out of danger for now." Doctor Jones said in a comforting manner.
"I can't go home. I'll stay here with my daughter." Mr Davis objected.
"She's at the surgical ward and you can't enter. So, I suggest you go home and freshen up. I'm sure you wouldn't want your daughter to see you in this dishevelled state." The Doctor persuaded.
Even though Mr Stephen Davis was unwilling to go, the Doctor's words somehow worked magic on him and he agreed to the suggestion.
"Dear, stay with our girl. I'll go home and freshen up first then." Mr Davis said to his beloved wife.
"Okay Dear. Take this cup of coffee to cool down first." Mrs Samantha Davis agreed and handed a cup of coffee to her husband.

Immediately after taking a cold shower, Mr Davis received a call from the hospital.
"I'm sorry Mr Davis, but, you are not a match for your daughter. However, we need the blood as quickly as possible. So, if there is another option available, kindly get it for us immediately." Doctor Andrews Jones revealed.
"What? What are you saying? My blood type is different from my daughter's? That's impossible! She's my own flesh and blood." Mr Stephen Davis said with disbelief.
"I'm sorry but we run the test three times to be sure, and all three results came out mismatch." Doctor Jones explained.
The phone instantly fell from his hand and hit the ground with a loud bang.
Clash!
The phone shattered into pieces.
Mr Stephen Davis couldn't believe his ears. He's not a match with his daughter? She's not his biological daughter?
Impossible!
Mr Davis was in a hurry to find his wife and get her to explain herself. However, upon opening the door, he was met with his wife's guilty face at the entrance.
"I just received a call from the Doctor, and he said I'm not a match. What is he talking about? What's going on, is there something I need to know? I mean, how is this even possible? If I'm not her father, then who is?" Mr Davis asked series of questions immediately he saw his wife.
"I'm so sorry dear, it... It was, it wasn't intentional. I can explain. It's a long story. Actually, I..., I visited a friend and we, we got drunk and it just happened. It was just a one night stand and it meant nothing. I'm sorry!" Mrs Davis lied through gritted teeth.
"What? You cheated on me after everything I have done for you? You watched me take care of someone else's child all these years! Were you ever going to tell me, had I not found out like this?
Wait, how many of our children is not mine? I mean, do I even have a child with you?" Different thoughts were rushing through his mind.
The truth was suffocating him.
He couldn't breathe and he was gasping for air.
He had been deceived all these years. He didn't want to be made a fool of.
Out of desperation, he took out his other phone and contacted his lawyer.
Immediately the call was connected, he said in an exasperated manner. "Attorney, I need you to amend my will! I want..."
Bang!
Before he could finish his sentence, He fell to the ground with a loud thud. He realized he was slowly losing consciousness, and he could feel his life going out of him little by little.
With his last breath, he spat out with venom, "You will pay for this!"
Just like that, he was dead.
"That was close!" Mrs Samantha Davis said with great relief.

Three years later!
Slap!
Kelsa was awoken by a hot slap on the face and a cold water bath. She sat up right and looked up, only to see her elder sister Emily, smiling at her mischievously.
"Have you forgotten what day today is? Have you forgotten today is your wedding day? You're still sleeping by this time? God! This girl is so lazy. The entire family is relying on you. Now that you finally have the chance to elevate our status a little bit, you don't want to agree. Right? Do you want me to make things difficult for you? If you mess this up for us, you'll be out of this family for good" Her sister yelled with a heavy tone.
"Emily, why do you hate me so much? I don't remember ever offending you in any way. But the hatred you have for me is so vivid in your eyes. It's there for all to see, why? I'm your younger sister. You should be taking care of me, not selling me off to a rich family in the name of being able to join the upper class society." Kelsa argued emotionally.
"Are you actually talking back at me? Do not forget that I'm capable of giving you a beating of your life before you walk down the aisle! Of what use are you to this family if not to be used in exchange for a huge sum of money? In fact, I give you less than 30 minutes to walk out of this room and get ready for your wedding." Emily fired back angrily and walked out of the room.
Kelsa was only two years old when her father bethroted her to his best friend's son who lives abroad. She just turned 18 yesterday.
Since her father has been dead for 3 years now, her mother decided to let her get married and leave the family as quickly as possible so she and Kelsa's other siblings could have the mansion to themselves.
Kelsa had no choice. Because, it's either she gets married or lives on the street for the rest of her life. That was the condition her mother gave her.
As a result, she obliged. Because, she loved her mother dearly and she would do anything to make her mother very happy.
If getting married to a man she has never seen before, would make her mother happy, then, so be it.
Kelsa got up from bed and entered the bathroom. After taking a bath and putting on clean clothes, she walked out of the room.
When she came out, her younger sister was waiting for her. She was so happy. Yet, you could see a bit of sadness in her eyes. She was the only one who showed Kelsa true love.
"Kelsey, you are getting married today! I'm sure my brother-in-law will take very good care of you! But hey, don't forget me you know, you should call me everyday. Infact, I'll come and visit you everyday so I do not get bored in this big house."
"No problem." Kelsa replied.
She hurriedly continued after a short pause. "Besides, I do not know who I'm getting married to. Obviously, I'll be lonely for the rest of my life. You're my only source of happiness."
Lily pulled her sister to the dressing room and got her ready for marriage!
About two hours later, a very tall and handsome young man with a seriously gloomy face walked into the registry.
It was evident from his expression that he's not ready for this or probably he's being forced into agreeing to this marriage.
Kelsa walked diligently and entered the office. As always, she was quiet. It took less than 30 minutes for them to finish with the signing of the papers and formalities. Kelsa's mother, Mrs Samantha Davis, was very happy as she hugged her daughter.
"Okay! See how wonderful you look now. If you had agreed to this sooner, you and I would not have been fighting all the time." She told her daughter.
Kelsa looked up with teary eyes and asked her mother in a bewildered tone, "Are you happy now, Mum?"
"Yes, yes, yes, I'm happy. Of course I'm happy, I'm very happy! Why won't I? My daughter is married, for sure I am super happy!" Mrs Samantha Davis said.
Darryl walked pass the mother and daughter duo, he looked up at both mother and child before walking pass them as though they were total strangers.
He went to the parking lot and sat in his car. His personal assistant was in the front seat, waiting to start the engine "Young Master, can we leave now?"
"Wait for her, what choice do I have? Before Daddy kills me." Darryl Shaw said with a gloomy expression.
About ten minutes later, Kelsa also walked out like a lost soul with nowhere to turn.
Darryl looked up at her and roared, "Do you need an invitation?"
Kelsa walked quietly and entered the car. The car drove off in the early morning and entered a very luxurious and extravagant mansion. .
It looked like a castle. Before the car could completely come to a halt, Darryl had already walked out and stormed into the house.
Kelsa was saddened. But can you blame him?
He had been forced to marry someone he doesn't know from anywhere. When he was actually in a serious relationship.
His girlfriend had been abroad with him and he loved her dearly. Yet, his father, Mr Julian Shaw, refused to let him marry her and threatened to disown him.
His mother, Mrs Ashley Shaw, was not in good health and could not bare the pain of her only child being disowned by her own husband. So, he was forced into this marriage.
This marriage that looks like a sham from the onset. No love, not even friendship.
Kelsa followed him like a zombie.
Upon entering the building, Darryl looked at her and shouted historically, "Stay out of my way! Don't touch my stuff, and you are sleeping in the guest room."
He quickly turned after stating his point.
After taking two steps however, he turned to face Kelsa again and continued. "Oh, one last thing, know that our marriage is just on paper. I'm never going to fall in love with a desperate woman like you!"
He entered the master bedroom and locked himself up.
A maid servant went up to Kelsa and said, "Hello, Young Mistress. You're welcome! Please follow me"
She showed Kelsa the guest room that had already been neatly arranged "Young Mistress, the Young Master said this is your room, I've cleaned everything up for you."
"Thank you!" Kelsa replied.
"What's your name?" Kelsa asked with a smile on her face.
"Mavis. My name is Mavis Oscar." She replied.
"Mavis, can you please help me with my luggage in the car? I want to use my laptop. Thank you!" Kelsa kindly requested.
The maid walked out of her room and returned shortly after with a suitcase and a laptop in her hand. She immediately left after handing it over to Kelsa.
After getting out of her gorgeous, yet, annoying wedding dress, she opened her laptop and said to herself, "This is my life now, it starts or ends here. Whatever happens to me from today depends on myself alone, no one else."
She started the laptop and swiftly typed on some keys after saying those words to herself.
Kelsa never walked out of her room that day.
In the evening, the maid came back with a tray of food and said to Kelsa. "Young Mistress, you've not eaten anything since you came. I prepared something light for you, please have some."
"Thank you, you are very kind. Please put it on the table, I will eat it later." Kelsa replied.
"Okay, Young Mistress." Mavis replied and walked out.
After typing for about 30 minutes, Kelsa took a bite of what was brought to her.
She sat up on the bed after eating, thinking to herself, 'That grumpy old man is so full of himself. Does he think I like him? Please, in his dreams! I'm only eighteen and all I want is to be able to finish what I'm doing and get into a big company or be hired by the government. As for love, if I didn't get it from my family, I don't think I can get it elsewhere. Marriage is a sham anyway. Who wants to be in it? It's a serious joke that is full of uncertainties!'
Early the next morning, Kelsa got into the bathroom and took a long shower.
After that she looked at her marriage certificate as if she was looking at a devastating contract.
After a long time, she placed it in the wardrobe and put on some clothes as she said to herself, 'This is a new day,' and walked into the kitchen.
As cooking was one of her hobbies to get herself distracted and numbed to pain, she started to prepare some food as she talked to herself, "I am a married woman after all. Even if it's just on paper, I still need to perform my duties."
She cooked a simple meal and set the table for breakfast.
Darryl walked out of his room, ready to go to the office. Upon coming downstairs, he was greeted by a wonderful aroma.
However, after finding out from Mavis that it was prepared by the young mistress, he decided to go to the office with an empty stomach.
He quickly walked out of the Mansion as he said to himself, 'I am not going to eat anything cooked by that piece of trash, lest, I die of food poisoning.'
He got into one of the Rolls-Royce that had been neatly packed in the garage. The driver quickly sped off to the company.
Darryl called his personal assistant and ordered him to do an investigation for him.
"Alexander, I give you five minutes to find out everything there is to know about that girl."
"Which girl, Young Master?" The assistant asked.
"Who else? That girl from yesterday."
"Young Master, are you talking about your wife?" His assistant asked cautiously.
"She is not my wife, and will never be my wife. She is just living in my house. An acquaintance maybe, but certainly not my wife. She is not worthy of that title.
The next time you call her my wife again, I'll have your head delivered to me in a box. Find out everything there is to know about her. I want the file within five minutes." Darryl roared with a dangerous expression.
Alexander Fox, his personal assistant, was not surprised at all.
It was evident enough yesterday that his boss was not happy about this marriage. It was also very glaring from the pictures that have been posted on the internet concerning his wedding.
As he was leaving his boss' office, Darryl fired another order. "And someone should bring me coffee. Now!"
Darryl shouted out his order gloomily.
To not be on his bad side, he quickly got to work and found every information there was to know about Kelsa.
He quickly went into Darryl's office and handed all the information he had gathered so far to him.
"Put it on the desk! I have more important things to do than worry about her. Bring the file concerning Johnson Group for me to review" Darryl said with a frown on his face.

Kelsa prepared a wonderful lunch in the late hours of the morning. After the food was ready, she got into the bathroom, took a cold shower and got out of the Mansion.
Her husband had gotten her a car and a driver. But do not be fooled, it's just formalities.
She entered the car. The driver asked her, "Young Mistress, where are we going to?"
"Take me to Shaw Corporations, I have to give the Young Master something." Kelsa replied.
Thirty minutes later, they arrived in front of a very huge 50 storey building. It was located in the urban area and it looked like a diamond castle.
Kelsa began feeling extremely nervous. She has been to her Father's company before, but this company was five times bigger in comparison.
Anxiety began growing in her heart like a bonfire because, she knew for sure, she will not be received well.
Meanwhile, in an office located on the 50th floor, Darryl was in his seat looking gloomily at this laptop.
His best friend, Donald Dark, was adding more insults to injury by teasing him heartily.
"WOW, where is my married man? I miss you! Oh my, see how you look in less than forty-eight hours of marriage! It has made you look like a fifty years old man.
I don't think I'm going to marry, if all married men look the way you do now. I'm sure we'll lose millions of Dollars monthly in our company if you marry for a whole year. I'd rather keep my money than waste it on a gloomy face." Donald Dark teased.
"Donald, if you want to have lunch with me and have me pay for it, then behave. Else, you are going to pay from your own pocket." Darryl said angrily.
"Well, I have to say, I think she's pretty. Yes, she is pretty and young." Said Donald.
"I think you meant to say pretty and a child. I can't be married to her for crying out loud. I'm 27 years now, how many years intervals is there between us?
This is just bullshit! I'll just wait for the old man to die and dump her somewhere, so I can finally get married to my Abigail." Darryl complained bitterly.
"Wow, so you are now pushing your father to an early grave? I guess the Shaws are not that enviable after all." Donald Dark laughed heartily.
Donald was still at it, when they heard a gentle knock on the door of the office.
Darryl shouted at the top of his lungs as he said, "I said you should hold all meetings, and I'm close for the day, I don't want to see anyone. Get lost."
"Sir, it's the Madam." Darryl's secretary said in an aggrieved tone.
Donald laughed heartily and shouted at the secretary, "What are you still doing? Let her in!"
Kelsa walked into the office with a very shy and humble face. She walked to the dinning table in the left corner of the office with the lunchbox in her hand.
She was fidgeting nervously as she had no idea she would meet two gentlemen in the office.
"I brought food to Darryl. I thought it was..., I, I mean, I'm sorry to come into your office without letting you know."
With that said, she walked out of the office without waiting for any response. She quickly ran into the elevator and headed to the parking lot.
