Twist in time

"Stella get up"someone is calling me. I slowly opened my eyes to see my chemistry madam standing in front of me.

"oh no, I am so sorry mam" I lift myself up from the table feeling embarrassed and noticing everyone's eyes on me. She didn't reply and just walked away. As soon as she left the final bell rang.

"I'm sleeping in the class and you didn't give a damn help to wake me, " I scolded my friend hazel when both make our way out of the class.

"Well she did before I did"

"That's a nice explanation" I kept walking in the hallway.

"By the way, adam wants to see you. He said he will wait outside the academy"

" Okay, thanks I will catch you later" I rushed into the restroom and washed my face. My blonde hair is not messed up cause I slept in class, not home.

Adam is my boyfriend. Well, sort of cause after two years of relationship I never felt he really cares about me. He's a short temper. I think I deserve more, I am a worthy girlfriend.

"Hey, Iam waiting for you an hour. Why can't you just come on time" he yelled at me as soon as he caught my sight.

" Why are you being furious about this. Hazel informed me a few minutes ago" I rolled my eyes.

"fine, I am not furious. I just have to meet my friends after an hour" He tapped his feet impatiently.

"You have time for them but not for me, fine go" I started to get frustrated. Why did I ever love him? he has never been nice to me. I just can't trust anyone.

"Okay I am sorry, I have time for you. Can you come to my home? We can do our collage work." He said trying to hide his irritated look. I nodded and there's a beep sound on my phone. I got a notification from Madelaine.

Maddy: Hey Stella, I hope we can meet today. I have got to tell you about our new inventions

Stella: sure, I am coming :)

she's five years younger than me and we are the closest friends from school. I smiled at the phone. The only senior girl I ever talked with and become close within a few months. My mood brightens whenever I talked with her. I felt so alone when she graduated, I got some good friends like Hazel but no one's gonna be equal like Maddy.

"Who are you texting, "Adam raised his eyebrow.

"Its Maddy, why are you being suspicious?"

"I am not."

"Okay, I think we can't do work now. she asked me to meet her at her home. But I will come to your place..." he interrupted me.

I was about to say I will meet you tonight but he took his bag and left immediately before I could finish. I was done speaking to him. He irritates me a lot. I hate when someone ignored while we are talking and here my boyfriend is an example of that type of person. I hurried straight to home hoping to get some peace as every other place I know sucks and I just can't stop complaining about it.

I turned the knob of the door and entered slamming the door behind me, I heard the crashing sound. My eyes went wide when I found the plates and the vases lying down on the floor, broken and crushed.

"mom" I called out when my heart started to beat faster with every step I took towards the kitchen. Loud noise coming from the kitchen.

"Why the hell you did that without my permission" dad's shouting at my mom.

"what's the matter with you two" I yelled at them.

"don't poke your nose in our matter now go to your damn room" She snapped. I just entered the house after school and she's snapping at me without a valid reason. Why can't I know about any problem that's going between them? Nowadays their fights are increasing like anything. Their problems are affecting me. I can't feel good living here in the middle of my problems. Great, there's no peace at home either. Now where the hell should I go? some problems someday are fine but every day, it sucks. Maybe reading books will take me somewhere I can find happiness but that too in this noise, I can't even read. Since my childhood, I always wanted to go somewhere, someplace in the outer place. That's why I ever choose to study science. I don't want to be famous for inventing something. I want to achieve my dream that's all.No need of appreciation at all. At least I can be happy there. Thinking about the whole universe gives me happiness. I want to explore it, each and every part of it.

I changed into my top and jeans and got out of my room as I am pretty sure mom hadn't cooked anything due to this ridiculous fight. I don't know whether to tell this as ridiculous or not cause they are fighting as they can be separated at any moment. If I came to know about these problems, I would have done something to solve it. But Iam not allowed to involve in these issues. Now I am heading to meet Maddy and eat there. Iam starving.

"where are you going"my dad shouted at me from the kitchen.

"getting out of the hell" I yelled back without turning and slammed the door beside me, causing a loud sound. I felt ease as soon as I was out. Maddy is the best scientist in Los angles, always keeps on inventing something with her co-workers. I wanted to be like her. but her home is not just a home. There's a secret entrance to her lab where she finds some new devices. Due to this secret lab with many valuable devices and inventions, it's well protected with many securities. Every common people will think it's a well-protected billionaire house but I know all these securities are for the lab inside it. I reached her house and got past the security.

"Wait, mam, your identity" the security stopped me.

"Are you kidding me, why should I show my identity every time I come here, you know I am her friend" then they allowed me with an apology. I got inside her room and took a specific book from her bookshelf. A secret passage opened from it and I walked inside. The lab is larger than her house, more stunning, excellent maintenance, all new equipment, trustworthy workers, sufficient space. There are more than a hundred peoples working here. It's a secret research lab.everyone is busy with their work.

"Maddy" I hugged her.

"Stella, its been one week not seeing you but I feel like a year"I smiled at her.

"you won't believe what I found. We all are closer to reach the parallel universe. We can go there with the help of a spaceship and I hope we will find it soon" she spoke fastly with more excitement.

"yes you do and you are going to take me there and I will never ever come back here again"

"I know that's your desire but you seem a little irritated. I think I can guess what it is?"

"Just a boyfriend, family problem and well whatnot, "I said.

"but I will change your mood"

"maybe you give me something to eat. I am soo hungry" I kept my hands on my stomach.

"sure" she got out of the lab.

I walked around to see my friends Bella and scarlet.they are close friends to me after Maddy and we are doing a very big project to invent a space ship. Its been ten years but It's still not done. the whole family of Maddy working on it for a century generation after generation.there's a spacious place allowed for the spaceship. When everything is prepared for launching, the rocket will take off, the ceilings above the lab will open up to reveal the blue sky. But we aren't totally done with that invention. Even though It's ready, how can we go to another planet like mars? I know my expectation is too high. We may not have enough oxygen to breathe until we reach it. Let's not think about it right now.

"How are you guys doing, " I asked them.

"Nothing much, so tired of working the whole day" Bella replied.

"and I got some more works in-home" Bella added.

"me too, "Scarlet muttered.

"cheer up, don't be upset"

"you are upset too, I can see it in your face" Anyone can tell my mood by seeing my face. It's much easier with a girl like me, who's not good at hiding anything.

"well, when it comes to my friends I will help them"

"do you want noddles"Maddy walked towards me having a bowl full of noodles in her hand. I don't know whether she prepared it for me and brought it at the right time.I got no time to think about it when Iam hungry.

"yes, my favorite"

"I made you happy".She beamed. I kept on eating and watched everyone. This is the best place ever for me to stay in. Suddenly something small knocked me.

"whoa" I turned back and saw a little android whose height is only up to my knees.

"IAM SORRY, MY NAME IS AL330"

"nice, you look so cute" I admired it. Especially this one is amazing as it is short like a cute kid.

"that's me actually, " Alex said moving toward me. Alex is just a year older than me. He's the one and only friend in guys who I had been close for more than five years. He's not my school but I met him in Maddy's lab.

"I created it for a long time. It's like my security guard how is it?"

"It's awesome. You are a genius"

"sure Iam, so I named it AL".I finished the noodles and kept the bowl aside.

"Anything interesting can your robot do?" he nodded cheerfully and pressed some buttons from a remote controller and it becomes invisible.

"This is so cool. Did you created it to spy anyone"

"sort of but I don't have an idea of using it many times. It can only be used when there's a need or it will be repaired and I can't let that happen" he explained. Then I saw the time it's already nine.

"I should go now, " I said anxiously.

"Okay, see you tomorrow".I rushed out of her house. My mom will surely question me, and I am going to get frustrated.

I glanced at the sky. It looks beautiful and full of wonder." watch out" someone shouted and I came back to reality. A car is about to hit me as I am standing nearly in the middle of the road. I did nothing but standing still in shock. Suddenly someone grabbed me and I am toppled on that person.

"I am so...sorry" I stammered and got up awkwardly without even seeing their face.

"It's okay, you are not hurt right" I looked at his blue eyes and he is holding on either side of my waist. In a second, I can only get a glance of his eyes, brown hair, and amazing lips.

"no, thank you" I took some steps back and was to ask about him if he was hurt or not. But suddenly there's a beep on his phone.

"I reached" he spoke and left without a word. I looked at my dress one second to rub the dirt off me and next second I looked up he's gone. I am on the main road and he walked quickly in a flash? Is it possible?

I felt like a lost child wandering in the streets as soon as he left me. I walked back home to find that my parents have finally stopped fighting but my house was a disaster. My eyes suddenly caught the sight of something familiar.

"It's my telescope, how can you break it, mom" I shouted at her.

"Sorry," she said simply sitting in the dining table alone.

"No, you are feeling sorry. I worked so hard to make it but you broke it just like that" It's a handmade one. It may not be the biggest invention or something. Whatever it is, she can't break her daughter's work like this.

"I said sorry.what do you expect from me other than that" she shouted at me. Iam the one who should shout at her. but I am feeling like I wanted to cry. I rushed to my room and locked it and took the broken pieces of it." I don't think I can fix it" I murmured. I left it there and opened the windows. I kept staring outside. I wanted to see the best view of the sky. I wanted to explore the universe. My parents never encouraged or stood by my side. I let out my tears and something goes in a flash. I don't know what is it? My eyes went blank for a second and slept.

"Open the door, Stella. You should go to the academy" my mom yelled from outside."Oh no, I am late. It's already nine" I fell asleep near the window the whole night.

I got ready as fast as I can and didn't utter a single word to my mom.

" Hey Stella, sorry I was angry at you yesterday,"adam said when I reached the academy.

"That's fine," I said without seeing his face."I am thinking of having a party at my home tonight. If you are free, can you come?"

"I will think"

"Hey please see me. Are you mad at me" He pleaded. He never does something like this without a need.

"No" I turned to see him but he leaned to kiss me.

"Noo, leave me alone. I am not in a good mood" I said breaking the kiss. I can't even remember the last time he kissed me feeling the love for me. Maybe there are no memories like that.

"Why you are acting so stupid" He snapped.

"What? I am dealing with many problems right now and I know you are never going to ask me or make me feel better."

"I will do, that's why we can have a party. If you have some money we can make It the best one"

"Still you are thinking about party and yourself," then something hit my mind.

"You want money. Am I right?"

"no. I mean maybe but we can enjoy the party cause I thought of buying champagne and " I stopped him.

"Okay stop talking. Take it and leave me alone" I gave him what we needed and left. I know he wouldn't follow me to see if I was mad or not. Even though I expected him to do that. I sat in the table near hazel." hey Stella, how are you doing? " I just let out a sign and looked at her.

"Something's going on right."

"Yeah."

"You can tell me whatever it is."

"I think so, but now I don't feel like attending the class. I will talk with you later."

"Fine. Do whatever you want but I am here for you" she smiled at me and I returned the smile, left the table before the class started.

The first place I ever wanted to go right now is a place to eat or drink and sit alone. Well, time goes on.

I sat alone in a Bash cafe where we can all amazing food to eat. Bash is the owner and I am a regular customer. Today I just ordered a coffee and took my journal. I love writing diaries but still, nothing good happens in my life. I only write complaining about something. So I don't even know why I am maintaining a journal.

"Hey, mind if I join you" I heard someone's voice. For a second the voice is sexy as hell. I looked up to see the same boy who saved me.

"um..yeah"I stuttered seeing him again. Yesterday, I can't able to see his looks. But he's so beautiful with his blue shirt and matching jeans. A sunglass is hanging over his shirt.

"Yesterday I can't able to introduce myself. I am Christopher. Call me Chris" He gave his seductive smile.

"Okay, I am Stella. I was just wondering how you saved me and gone so quickly within a blink of an eye."

"uh... I was in a hurry so I took a shortcut like jumping to another house. It seems crazy but I was in a hurry" he gave his boyish-grin.

"Oh, I see" I smiled at him. I don't believe it.

"Hmm..why are you glancing at the sky and got lost in thoughts. You are so careless." He tried to keep up the conversation with me.

"To say the truth, I was looking at it so someone or something will take me from this earth to somewhere I can find peace." I stupidly replied.

"You sounds..."

"Ridiculous.Well, everyone tells like that," I said before he finished talking.

"No. I wasn't saying that. Your imagination is really cool. I love it. But this earth is the best planet I ever visited." His word sounds weird. Did I hear it wrong?

"Excuse me, What do you mean ever visited" he ignored my question and called the waiter.

"Do you have anything spicy here?"

"Um...like what"

"Okay, what about french fries?"

"yes."

"I will bring it" When the waiter left, he turned to me.

"Then what's that note? Any study stuffs."

"It's my diary. I will write about myself and daily life. But I don't feel to write it anymore"

"Why," he said without taking his eyes off me.

"Cause nothing good happens in my life, so why should I have one. I want life to be happy, interesting with a little bit of passion, adventure, love which I never found"

"Maybe you will find it soon, so you should keep writing. Don't give up" he spoke encouragingly.

"I don't think so" I laughed. But I think I can find some hope from his talk. Then the french fries arrived and I started eating it. He only bought it for me. When it comes to food I will forget everything.

"You like it."

"I love it," I said without taking my eyes off the french fries.

"You are beautiful," he said suddenly and I was stunned for a moment and blushed, no thoughts of food cause nobody told me I am beautiful. I mean adam my boyfriend, he never said something like that.

"Put your hands up," somebody interrupted.

"Oh no, you got to be kidding me" I whispered to myself.

"What's that, "Chris asked me.

"robbery, a thief, and they are having a gun," I blurted with a terror expression. The owner bash raised his hand and did nothing. Others in the place are sitting like a statue.

"Why the humans are like this"Chris snarled and got up from the table.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I whispered. The humans? Why is he telling the humans? He's human too. Am I right? I asked to myself.

"Stay right in your hands" the thief yelled at Chris in particular.

"Whoa, no offense but what do you want?" he took one step forward.

"I want money. Now you pathetic creature stay in your place."

"what? me? pathetic creature" he smirked wickedly and took another step forward.

"No Chris," I said under my breath and fallen from the table half -balanced. There's a bang sound at the moment. Did they shoot him? Noo. I looked up to see Chris holding the thief's gun on his head.

"How you got my gun," the thief said with a terrible shock on his face.

"Now, go before I kill you," Chris said looking straight through his eyes. The thief looked like he was hypnotized or something and left within seconds.

"Boy, you need to go to the hospital. He shot you," the owner said.

"No, I dodged from the bullet. See no injury," he said turning towards the owner.

"How you escaped it, "I said touching his chest in total shock. A shiver ran through me when I touched him. I removed my hand quickly. Before he couLd answer me, his phone rings.

"Why are you taking so much time. Finish the task as fast as you can"someone shouted on the other side which is highly audible to my ears.

"Sorry, coming" he replied with frustration.

"I got to go," Chris said.

"No, whats the urgent" I hold on to his hands without a second thought.

"Leave me, I should go now" he left with a little bit of anger, and puff vanished. I am again standing alone in the entrance seeing him leaving.

I got frustrated after a minute and ready to leave home. At the time a car came by and stopped right in front of me.

"Need a ride"Madelaine's face popped up in in the car.

"You didn't wonder why I am alone here" I bit my nails in anger when Iam sitting next to her."Explain" she opened the door. I sat next to her and kept being silent. I don't want to talk about that.

"So" she started.

"So, the thing is I met a boy who is looking so mysteriously handsome"the word handsome got out of my mouth without thinking.

"He's handsome, I should definitely hear the story. Go on and on" she smiled broadly while taking a turn in the road.

"Okay, one day I was unaware while walking on the road and he saved me before a car hit me and he went without hearing me say thanks. Today he showed up again. We talked for a while and some thief entered bash Cafe. They threatened everyone but he moved forward towards them. They shot him but there's no injury, then he got a call, left me without a goodbye." I finished telling her.

"I am at shock at how he got no injured when he was shot."

"I heard the gun sound but the owner seen with his eyes that Chris was surely got shot by the thief."

"what if the owner is wrong?"

"maybe or not, "I said and tried to change the topic." so there's any reason you came here today"

"fortunately I saw you but Stella, don't change the topic. I wanna know about him. Now tell me where exactly he saved you from the accident. I want to see his face. This guy seems pretty interesting to investigate "

"It happened near your house. You are thinking what I am thinking right?" as I told Maddy's face is well protected, so there are many hidden CCTV cameras.

"Yes, we are going to see on the camera. I will get a chance to see the mysterious boy face" I tried not to smile but I can't resist. The reason is I want to see him again. At least in a video if not in real again.

We stepped out of the car and walked inside her house." now give me the exact information, timings ectera.." she ordered me. It's a good thing I remembered everything. After some minutes of searching "I got it," she sat on the table and played that video on her laptop.

"See that's me, now where is he, "I said leaning closer to her." I don't see him either" she said. Then I spotted him on the other side of the road talking on his phone. He looked at me when the car was about to hit me. I saw him moving forward at an ultra-speed and caught me at the right moment. Even in the video, everything happened in a flash. The way I toppled over him and his hands are on my waist gave me goosebumps.

"how's that possible? " Maddy yelled.

"I don't know, no one can run that much faster. It's weird". A shiver ran down my spine again and I closed the laptop.

"I think I should go home" I stood up taking my bag.

"You are leaving," she asked.

"Yeah, it's evening. Today I skipped all the class. Maybe I will get some rest and go to the academy tomorrow."

"Fine, bye"she lead my way back to the entrance.

"Umm...I want" I stammered when she was about to turn.

"You want the video right." she beamed. She's the only person who can act like she can read my mind every time.

"Yes right."

By the time I reached my house, there's no more problem at home. That's a good thing. But there's no guarantee cause they are fighting almost all the days in a week and I can't do anything about it. Iam feeling powerless.

"Stella, we want to talk with you," my mom said.

"now or later." I blinked.

"Now" she demanded. I put my bag down and sat near them. They are so calm today.

"We are getting separated," both said at the same time. I felt like an arrow hit me right in my chest. For a second, I was wondering what made them so calm and peaceful. But there's no peace here because they found a solution by getting separated.

"what the heck!"

"You heard us right. We are getting separated and we want to decide where you will be staying. Either with mom or with me" dad said.

"You got to be kidding me"I totally got shocked and angry. I have a choice to decide but I am taking my own choice.

"Neither you nor you" I pointed at both of them.

"What? are you insane. Where do you think you will stay? on the road?"

"You both are making me mad. I don't want to be with you" I stood up and pushed the chair away.

"I will go to Madelaine's house. I am happy being with her or I will go somewhere else. If I could say the truth I will tell staying in the street is better than you."

"That's out of the option. I won't let you go there."

"Stop giving me orders. I hate you. You both made me sober. I wanted to be happy, not seeing fights every day. What's done is done. I will stay somewhere else" I rushed into my room without hearing another word from them. But my mom followed me and closed my door from outside.

"COME OUT" she shouted from outside. Tears fell down on my cheeks. They always drive me crazy now they are going to be separated. I don't know when these bad things will be over in my life.

"Okay.you don't need to come out. I already locked the door, you are not going anywhere" she told sternly and I tried to open the door and I can't.

"This is a compulsion. A good parent won't do something like that" I yelled from my room.

"Then I am not good," she said and I heard the footsteps going away from the door.

"sh..., now how will I escape from here" I muttered to myself. I quickly took my phone and messaged Madelaine. Thank God, she saw the message right at the moment.

Maddy: I am coming. But try to come out of the window.

Stella: I can't escape from this ducking window. Who do you think I am? A monkey?

Stella: I mean ducking

Stella: fu**ing

I threw the phone away on bed and tried to break the window. I stuck in the room for more than half an hour. Suddenly I got a call.

"Hey, I am sorry. I am late, I am in your house right now"

"Find a way to get me out" I whispered silently.

"Okay" she hanged up. I kept the window open and I heard some robotic noise inside my house.

"AL330 FOR RESCUE" I turned to see that the android.

"Don't shout, Don't shout. How did you get here" I asked suspiciously?

"Through the window." this time words appeared on a screen on the robot instead of voice. Seriously, how can it jump through the window? alex's android is crazy like him.

"Okay good. now, how will I go out?"I bend down to its size?it didn't reply but moved towards the window and removed some screws on either side of it and looked at me.

"Are you telling me to jump"I gasped at it. In reply, it shook its head. I can't walk on a rooftops.no no-no.

"What's the noise coming from your room?" my mom asked reaching the room.

"Okay I will do it," I said stepped outside it. suddenly she opened the door.

"What are you doing. are you crazy?" she shrieked and ran towards me. Goosebumps raised on my skin, I fastly took steps on the rooftops. I reached an edge and slipped.

"whoa," I yelled and slid to the end. I closed my eyes knowing that I am going to fall. I am afraid of heights.

"Gotcha," someone said catching me. I slowly opened my eyes to see Madelaine. She caught me and slowly put me down. ' you look so thin but my back is so painful by catching you' she muttered to herself.

"Don't hesitate. Run," she shouted this time and we ran towards outside. Both mom and dad came to catch me. They looked so angry right at the moment.

"Leave her" she shouted at Madelaine.

"I am glad I never got to see your face again," I said and got into the car and we took off.
