Trials And Tribulations

The blazing sun across the city emmited scorching rays with no mercy to skin with no protective layers.Alina Jeffery head of finance at the JEFF shipping company,a million dollar organization run by her family finally had her long-awaited lunch break.

She got out of the building and started her fifteen-minute walk down to her favourite diner,she had a luxury of ordering her food up to her office conforts but went against it,anything to help stretch her limbs after oh-so-many hours sitting behind a desk burried in a stack of office papers would do. With this she could also clear up her mind and think about what lies in her future and what more could life offer her or take away.The thought itself was enough to make her shudder.

"Ugh why does it have to be so hot outside?Can summer be over already.. Christ!"she was one who loved a more balanced weather neither too cold nor too hot both weather in high levels weren't her cup of tea.Her skin was one which could not tolerate sunburn too and she forgot her sunscreen today what a lucky girl she was! Reaching the familiar streets,Alina got inside the diner and ate her food in peaceful tranquility staring at the passers-by outside the window.

Each new face she saw aroused a different sense of curiosity.She puzzle over what could be their story,what are they doing with their life,are they happy?what challenges are they facing and do they have someone to lean on whenever they get tired fighting off their demons?Questions she will never get answers to. She decided to live it there as it is it's best she didn't know ..not because she didn't care far from that,she cared too much that she didn't think if she'd bear the story of everyone around, she was that sensitive. Alina looked at her watch and realised her time was up she quickly finished off the little that was on her plate paid the bill and scurried out of the diner on her way back to finalize her remaining office hours.

Reaching the high-storey building of the company she had a quick chat with Teddy the receptionist about random things and finally made her way back to her office. Plopping down the confortable leather chair she engrossed herself in her previous work.

Time went in a blink and it was seven pm she had just finished getting ready for a dinner date with her two-years boyfriend They first met three years ago in a business gathering hosted by her father and introduced as long time family friends.She wasn's born yet because she would have remembered them as she thought.They clicked in an instant with a mutual attraction.But both of them played it cool untill he decided to ask her out.Though their personality clashed with Ali being more of the bubbly spontaneous and Alex the cold,indifferent aloof guy with not much to say they had one strong bond with undeniable chemistry.They highlighted the "opposite attract" phrase.

They were secretly seeing each other till they made a decision to put their relationship in the spotlight on Ali's college graduation.The news was a mind-blow to everyone but they still supported and blessed their love journey. She was now cladded in a body con white knee-length dress staring back at her reflection with a smile,satisfied with what she's seeing.Just then the doorbell to her apartment went off and she went on opening the door.

"He..... " Before she even had the chance to finish off her sentence she got caught in a mind-numbing kiss with a masculine scent hitting her nostrills sending wave of satisfaction in her heart.

"I missed you"he whispered in between the kiss "Mhhh.."she only moaned in reply.The kiss went on for a couple of more minutes and before things could escalate Ali tried to wiggle out of the tight embrace and surprisingly he let go.

"You look gorgeously as always"he mumbled in a hoarse voice kissing her cheeks,nose and forehead.

"Words could've been enough you know,there was no need for you to pounce on me like some animal in heat"she replied in fake-annoyance rolling her eyes.

"But you did like it"he replied burrying his face in the crook of her neck nibbling it. Alina's mind was everywhere with that simple action but she gathered all her strength needed to stay put.

"If we go on with this little game here you know where we'll end up and we're definetely going to miss the reservation" As if something snapped in him he stood straight but with his arms still encircling her waist he looked at her

"i almost forgot,God your going to be the death of me" with a chukle he held out his arm for her and she reached for it and went on outside the door locking it.They reached the parking lot and he held the door for her got in himself and rode off to the restaurant. They reached the restaurant and were shown to their table.

"You always know how to pick out the best huh?"Alina said in amusement staring at the restaurant's decor.

"You get the best out of me"he was never one who spoke too much only when he's with her.He could laugh,smile and even crack some jokes just to see her laugh.This made everyone wonder what she did to get that side of him,she was lucky indeed because not even his parents got to see that him.In any gatherings he was always by her side and she did most of the talking with him just standing there with a possesive arm on the small of her back.

The waiter came and took their order and they went on chatting about random things.Ali though,mostly complained about how her work days are exhausting and how the company affairs got complicated and she had no way but sneaking out to refresh her mind.Alex kept calling her a "lazy panda"because all she had ever done was complain about every little work given to her,their families were business partners and him being the CEO of the FORD company new fully well that there wasn't much work to do and only her would think the little work she's assigned to was 'a bunch of work'.

Finally their food arrived and they began eating.They were on the desert when suddenly Ali felt like she chewed a non food product.She spit it out neatly on her napkin scrutinizing what she had just chewed and to say she was amazed by what she saw was an understatement,she was on cloud 9 with happiness it didn't take a genius to understand what was going on but she still asked

"Are you proposing?" Alex was a bit confused,didn't she understand the message or did he have to put it into words for her to get the message.He knew nothing about proposals he wanted to give her the box but his friend talked him out of it and told him to place the ring in something she liked instead seeing that she was very fond of strawberry cake he decided then that he would ask the restaurant to help him carry out his plan.

"I thought it was obvious"he replied with a slight frown. She could not stop the tears in her eyes and her face splitted in a wide smile "it's beautiful"she giggled

"Is that a Yes?"he asked still couldn't fathom what her expression gave out. "Of course it's a Yes"she responded excitedly getting up and went to hug him kissing every inch of skin his face offered.That night they drank more champagne which in real case orders came from Alina and although Alex finally put a stop to her binge drinking she was already quite wasted and tried calling every contact in her phone to give them the exciting news but her phone was snatched

"Hey!i was us-ing(hiccup) thaattt"she said in a slurred voice then giggled

"It will be best if we share the news when you're more stable and not under any influence" Gasping she asked pointing a finger to herself "are you saying am drunk?

"Of course not.you're just very tired and your speech is a bit slurred they won't be able to understand you"he said as he helped her put on her seatbelt Mhh she pondered thoughtfully "you're right,we'll find a day and tell them..why don't we do it tomorrow it's saturday everyone will be home we'll have a get together dinner......." and she went on and on about how they'll wow them with their news. Alex reached his apartment helped her out of the car and carried her bridal style to his room she spends most of her weekends at his place so some of her things are there.On reaching his room he placed her on bed thinking she was asleep but was surprised when she caught his wrists and pulled him down kissing him senseless

"I thought you were tired?"he said in between kisses "Not for you"she responded "not ever" And that night they made love over and over and over again till she was finally sobered up......

"Uugh"Alina groaned clutching her head tightly,her head was pounding,hard! she felt as though a rock was hitting to get out.

Turning to the otherside she hit a body which she knows to be Alex's she stared at his face with so much love in her eyes she almost forgot she had a headache.He was truly a masterpiece,God really favoured him he had a perfectly sculpted face with a pointed sharp nose and deep green eyes.She could be lost in that face for centuries and she would be fine with it.She started drawing circles in his well defined abs while staring at nothing in particular.Suddenly she felt a hand tightening around her waist and was pulled on top of him.

"How are you?i bet your head is not favouring you at all."He said as a matter of fact in a hoarse voice.

Staring at the deep green eyes she replied with hum.

"I'll get you some pain killers"he dressed and went in the kitchen looking inside the first aid kit for pain killers.Finally getting them he poured water in a glass and took it to her.

She replied with a "Thank you" and gulped down the substance.

Staring at her ring she stated "you do know placing a ring inside food was soo last year and plus i could've swallowed it for God's sake!you could've come up with a more brilliant way"

He threw his hands up in mock surrender "you can be so ungrateful at times Ali"he chuckled

"But you love me anyway"she went up and hugged him tightly.

"Of course i do who else would i love?"kissing the top of her head ..now that she had no heels she was much shorter.

"So let's freshen up then we'll know how to spend the day"Alex dragged her to the bathroom but before he reached the door knob Ali snatched her hand from him and went to retrieve her phone

"Before i forget let me first make some phone calls about the dinner tonight" she squaled "can't wait to see their faces after telling them am engaged" she said.

Alex just leaned on the door smiling,watching her as she called each important person in her list and invited them to dinner at the Jeffery residence. She made a final call to her parents then finally went to the bathroom.

The shower was long considering that both of them were insatiable thus failed to control their hunger for one another

They were now in the living room with Alina watching some random TV show which Alex gladly ignored and busied himself with work on his computer.

"Don't you ever get tired of working?"she annoyingly asked

"Don't you ever get tired of whining?"he shot back without batting an eyelash to her direction, his concentration still in what he was doing.Rolling her eyes Alina stood up and went in the kitchen to drink water when she came back she was stunned to see he put away his 'electronic'

"Come,pick a movie we can watch"

Again shocked she replied "okkayy"he pulled her to him and snuggled close she picked out a movie and they started watching it.

They were able to kill time with random activities watching the TV being the main one though.

Now they were getting ready for the night.

"So which one says am happily engaged?" Holding up the two dresses in display for Alex to help her choose

"I don't know Lina clothes don't speak" he pointed out "besides,anything you wear will look gorgeous on you,you literally look good in everything"

Looking at the dresses thoughtfully she decided to go with the casual black dress ending just above the knees.Alex came out snuggled in a long sleeve tight-fitting t-shirt black denims with sneakers.

"You look breathtaking fiancée"Alina complemented stressing out the 'fiancé' part

"You don't look bad yourself hun" he replied getting closer and kissed her.

"Let's get going we don wanna be late".

They went out of the house locked the door and finally they were in the car driving to their destination.

Their short journey coming to an end,they packed the car at the front and proceeded inside.The Jeffery's house was one of the most beautiful.Coloured in white with a modern vibe it looked heavenly and cozy.The outside had a fountain to it with a garden at the back.

"Alina darling you're here"Stella a middle-aged woman who stayed as a nanny to the four siblings said cheerfully.

"Good evening Stella"she kissed her cheek and hugged her

"Oh how have you been my dear,this house has not been the same without you you know.Don't tell anyone but it's been quite dull since you left you gave this home a life you know"

Laughing Ali replied with the same manner by lowly telling her "i won't"she proceeded with a louder tone"although i must say am glad that my absence is noticed shows just how much i used to run this place"she boasted and they both laughed.

"Oh forgive me Alex for not acknowledging you but you're fiance here steals attention from anyone close to her.How are you my boy?"

"Am very fine ma'am please don't apologize for anything"

"Oh enough with the formalities you're like Ali to me just call me Stella"

"Okay Stella...i hope you're fine?"he asked

"I am but even better now that you brought my little girl to visit me"she retorted pinching Alina's cheek slightly.

"Oh come on am you're big girl now"she pointed out pouting.

"Of course you are since you're even ready to get married but to me you'll always be my little angel"

Confused with a frown that formed creases on her forehead Alina was just about to ask how she became aware of that fact but Stella's next statement cleared the turmoil in her head

"You should really hide that ring if you're to announce the news and want it to come as a surprise by the way"she whispered then giggled

Alina was annoyed more by herself for not remembering the fact that she still had her ring on.She placed her hand behind the clutch an attempt to hide it"ugh Stella you're always one to notice every little thing in me even after not seeing me for sometime"

"That's more reason to notice every detail my child.Now let's take you to everyone.

At the living room Alina's parents together with Alex's were chatting about business.Alina's siblings two brothers Leonard and Jack and her sister Abigail were talking about her and how this could be just another unimportant announcement she's about to make but decided to disturb them by forcing a family.They loved their sister dearly but sometimes she could get a bit spontaneous.Leo came with his wife and kid who was now with a nanny.Jack brought a new girlfriend for the fourth time within two years.Abigail brought no one her love life was a complicated mess she wasn't ready to discuss with anyone but Alina and too shared only few details.

'"Mom,Dad"all heads turned to her as she voiced our her presence.She moved to her father and kissed him then to her mother whom she displayed more affection to her who returned it with same energy they hugged and kissed each other on the cheek.

"You spoil that kid too much"Anderson Jeffery taunted his wife.

Eleanor,Alina's mother retorted "Oh come on darling you can't blame a mother for loving her kids can you?"

She went forward and greeted Alex's parents with a bright smile and Alex did the same except that his smile was more to depict politeness.

After finishing with the parents she went to her siblings and finally returned to her mother's side.

"Alex my son,how is the business going"Anderson's voiced boomed through the silent charters.

"It's going great Mr.Anderson,we had trouble w pulling off some deals but we managed everything"

"That's great son and please do call me Uncle,we are long time friends with your parents am like a father figure to you"they all laughed

"Actually i think he can just call you father since he's going to be your son-in law"everyone stared at her quizzically just then she held up her left hand and in a squeal she screamed "am getting married"

"What!"

"Oh my God this is wonderful news"

"Wow lucky you guys"

"Are you sure you'll be able to keep up with her for the rest of you're life though?she's a handfull"and that was Jack who decided to tease her.That was his Forte for sure.

"Oh Jack you're just jelous because no one is willing to take a risk with you except for the money grabbers"she shot back not knowing that he brought an entourage with him.

"Hey you should mind your tongue miss sassy stuck up your offending someone"he said pointing behind him.

Ali gasped a horror gasp after seeing what's behind him

"I-i am s-orry"her voice stuck in her throat she failed to make a prorper sentence without stuttering

"It's okay don't worry"Sienna the girl with Jack calmed her.

"And i am not stuck up mom talk to your idiotic son"

"Hey don't you cal--"

"Enough"Anderson shouted" you two are grown ups we will not deal with this right now"

"Yes hunny it's a celebratory occasion don't ruin it"Eleanor chimed in "come on now dinner is ready"

With a final hard glare on Jack she took strides towards Alex and held his hand they all headed to the dining and took their respective seats

Half way through dinner Abi broke the silence "so Ali when is the wedding?"she asked merrily with a wide grin

She was dumbfounded,with all the excitement she forgot to ask Alex about their wedding date.

"I-uh...."not waiting for her to finish up moulding her lie Alex saved her

"The wedding will be in three months"now even the soon-to-be bride was stunned 'three months!that's a very short time we haven't prepared anything yet what about th--'she didn't complete her thinking as he proceeded "about the date we haven't decided one yet,we'll soon decide though"

Now the one who voiced their thought was Daniel Ford Alex's Dad "But son that is too soon are you sure you'll be able to complete everything within that time span?"

"Yes dad"he replied with a sigh and a tired expression he was already exhausted within the half hour he's been here.He only wanted to take Alina who surprisingly was enjoying herself while talking to her sister, get her home burry her in his arms and sleep."With the right people assigned to their respective work we'll definetely get there"

"I believe in you son"Pattie,Alex's mom said and raised her champagne glass showing her encouragement.He replied with a tight smile.

"Oh Ali am so happy for you by the way am going to be the maid of honour"Abi clapped excitedly "can't wait to choose the wedding dress ooh and the jewelries it's going to be a lot of fun"for a moment Alina saw a flash of the old Abigail one who loved shopping for fancy dresses and jewels not that she stopped loving but as she claims she grew out of it and now is focused on being the perfect employee in their own company!She can't be serious.Burying herself in work till late at night and going on from where she left early in the morning helped her take her mind off the traumatizing way her relationship ended if you could even say that because her fiancé only left her and disappeared without telling her anything.Her engagement ring is always hanging down her neck held by a beautiful silver chain.Noticing that her sister was staring at her with a saddened expression instead of celebrating with her Abi realized what she had just done and composed herself to return to her nonchalant expression while clearing her throat to relieve the awkwardness."it's going to be sisters days out..we haven't spend time with each other for a long time and how better it is to spend it shopping" she laughed dryly placing a strand of hair behind her ear

Not wanting to dwell in saddness she grabbed her hand and replied with a teeth-showing smile which failed to reach her eyes "of course,anything for my sister".Others didn't hear of their little chat they were busy conversing with one another.Leonard telling Alex how neatly he'll kill him if he dares break he sister's heart and Jack rambled on about how well he'll bury the body with no one ever finding him.

Monday came fast and it was time to go back to work but Alina wasn't so pleased with the fact.Don't get her wrong,she loves her job but she gets tired at the end of the day.She had left Alex's apartment sunday evening so it could be easier for her to arrive to work early.She reached her office and greeted Alma,her secretary who instantly saw the engagement ring and gave her congratulations she was a nice twenty years old girl.'people have eyes like hawks' she thought. Sighing she plopped down on the chair and started working.

Halfway through her work,her intercom buzzed connecting to the caller a ragged breath accompanied by a scared voice which she then knew to be Alma's,her secretary sounded.

"Miss your father in his off- ....

"Calm down Alma Calm down"she did as she was told,she calmed but panic still lurked in her voice.

"Your father miss he's going ballistic in his office,he called the heads of each department only you are missing your brother asked me to call you to his office".She knew by brother she meant Leo,she always refer to Jack as simply Sir Jack

"My brother's office?

"No your father's,their in your father's office"

"Okay Alma am heading there right away".She said picking up her phone and straightening her clothes.

Walking down the corridor she heard her father's yelling from where she was it seems he was furious 'what happened' she witnessed her father getting angry but never like this.He was completely enraged.She went inside to find him talking,no screaming to someone on the phone other employees who were heads of departments were standing in an awkward position with their heads hang low.Taking strides to where her siblings sat with gloomy faces.

"Leo,what happened"she asked worriedly

"A container of coccaine was found in one of the shipment,it's all over the news and now some investors are trying to pull out.Dad tried to

convince some of them to stay,they all agreed begrudgingly with a condition that Dad has to clear the company's name.One of them though, Mr.McAndrew is so persistent to pull out.It's like someone is in his head controlling his thoughts."

"Oh my God"Alina said with horror plastered on her face.She felt as though air was sucked out of her lungs she let out shaky breaths and slumped down to completely lean on the sofa.All the energy in her body was drained and her knees felt week.

"Who could've done this?" She asked more to herself.

"I have no idea"Abi answered in a whisper she too was petrified but she heard her.They stayed in a frozen state for sometime they were all in a state of shock.

"No one should talk to the press,atleast for now not until we get to the bottom of it we don't want to create another drama".Anderson,stated dejectedly.

Every employee in the building was now a suspect.The police officer questioned every employee and each one gave their statements according to their knowledge.

It was concluded that around "3-4pm" the culprit was able to load the coccaine inside one of the container,but who and how?That remained the question.Whoever did it must have had a hand from the inside one of them betrayed them and he/she has to be found!When Anderson heard this he was livid.Who could want to destroy him.Apart from his business rivals,he wasn't sure if he had any enemies,he's been in good terms with most people he met,only the ones who provoked him witnessed his wrath,other than that none other.

Alina's mind was now everywhere she was called in for questioning,everything

went well except for the part where she was asked of her whereabouts at the mentioned time.She couldn't say,no one ever knew if she even sneaks out of the office before the exact time employees where supposed to get off work every Thursday three pm except for Alma her secretary whom she only told so she could cover up for her.Worst was no one knew where she went.It was a secret she was determined to keep.The detective got suspicious of her,she could tell by the way he looked at her when she failed to answer the question.He said he would contact her soon.She was utterly petrified!

Her phone rang on the table,she was in a state of daze and couldn't think properly let alone talk to someone,so she didn't pick up but few seconds later after it stopped ringing the phone went off again and this time she had no choice but to pick up.

Gathering all the strength her body could offer,she picked up the phone but the little strength she managed to put together disappeared the moment she heard the caller's voice.

"Lina i know what happened,i need you to come down and listen to me okay."

"Uh-huh"she replied sobbing

"Don't worry we'll get through this together we'll find the ones who did it and get to the bottom of it don't worry"

"I don't know what I'd do without you" she replied still crying silently

"Your a strong girl you'd be fine without me,but now that am here you won't have to be alone coz I'll be with you each step of the way.I'll come pick you up.Okay?"

"But it's still office hours what will--"

"Don't worry I'll talk to your father,just wait for me"

"I will"

Alex did talk to her father as he promised however,when Anderson Jeffery answered the phone he was clouded with doubts if the phone was just them trying to pull out too but Alex cleared his doubts and told him they were now about to be family and that now more than ever they should stick together.That was quite a relief to him and he thanked God that he still had friends who genuinely cared and would be okay to stay through thick and thin.

An hour later,Alex reached the Jeff building and went directly to her office.He didn't have to tell anyone who he was there for,who didn't know that he and Alina were a thing..well unless the person is residing under a rock of course.

"Miss Alina is in her office"Alma informed him.He only replied with a nod and proceeded to where she was.

Alina was still stuck in her wheel of thoughts about who could have done it adding the fact that she could be a prime suspect due to failure of answering a darn question.Her office door creaked open and she jerked her head towards it.

"You came"she ran to Alex and hugged him tightly,every bit of her emotion was communicated through that hug.Fear and confusion were all evident.She was trembling in his arms and this time not from pleasure but fear.He hugged her back kissing the top of her head to show just how much he loved her and he'll support her.

"Calm down,everything will be okay don't worry."the words came out in a soothing gentle voice.

"I really hope it does".she said her voice still trembling because of crying.

"Come on,let's go home"he told her

"Let me get my things first."Collecting her handbag and laptop which Alex took to help her carry.She put on her shades since she didn't want anyone to notice her puffy eyes.Her father always wanted them to be like any other employees he never wanted them to look privileged so they never really got to use the VIP elevator,she was a mischievous little girl though she new the codes, at times she secretly used the elevator.She didn't want to miss the mirror there,it was quite a catch.There she could do a full Taylor Swift perfomence with her reflection as the audience.

"You need to stop worrying so much everything will be fine i promise"Alex coaxed her

"It's not easy you know,this mess is ..."she trailed off "i just don't know if we'll easily get out of this one"she leaned onto him and he responded by bringing her closer to him.

"We'll find a way"he whispered

It was now evening,Alex was not happy to see the sad face Ali was carrying along from when he picked her up from the company,something else was adding up to her fear he could tell from her nervous look and how she was thinking hard.He decided to take her out for dinner maybe that'll help clear up her head.They sat in an expensive Italian restaurant both with their menu in hands looking for something to eat.Just then a seductive female voice was heard behind Ali

"Alex,oh my God is that youu?"The woman seemed astonished too see him there that much was obvious.Tearing both their gazes from the menu,they looked from where the sound was coming from.

Behind them stood the most elegant woman Ali has ever met she thought.Her shoulder length dirty blonde hair complimented the striking pair of ocean blue eyes.Her whole aura screamed sophistication,for a moment Alina forgot her problems and a feeling she pinpointed as fury was brewing inside her,she hated that Alex was aquainted to such beauty or was there something more because the lady seemed even confortable to call him by his shortened name ..wow!She turned back around leaned on her chair and crossed her arms over her chest to express her distaste towards her fiance.She knew she wasn't suposed to be angry and it was so immature of her but right now even her senses seemed to have flown out of the window.

The woman however didn't pay her any acknowledgement and went on to where Alex sat gave him a kiss on the cheek and continued talking

"How are you?it's been a long time i missed you"she said cheerfully

Alex was also stunned to see the woman it seems he hadn't expect it either he composed himself and replied in a deed voice.

"Camilla,what a suprise to see you here"pointing to Alison he said"meet my fiancé Alison Jeffery."

Camilla wasn't that suprised but didn't look pleased either nevertheless she concealed her expression well and with a a smile she extended her hand for a shake

"Nice to meet you am Camilla Banks"

"Alina Jeffery"Ali knew very well the look and smile was all an act.She also put on her best acting skills into play and went on with the game.'Two can play this game'Or maybe she was too paranoid that her sense of reasoning was working against her?That could also be a possibility.

"It's really nice to see that you've moved on Alex"She spoke with a genuine tone one which Alina wasn't really having it,blame that on her jelousy but which infuriated Alex.His jaw ticked once,twice for a moment he wanted to strangle her,suck the air out of her but he restrained from doing that.

"I have and am very happy thank you".Alex retorted with gritted teeth.

"Anyway am happy to see you today hope we can meet some other time for a chit chat,it was nice meeting you Alina."After that she went away her walk resembled that of a model on a runway.

"So who is she"Alina asked with a mad expression.

"An ex girlfriend"he said with a shrug.

"She's beautiful"it was true Camilla was a beautiful young lady to think that they've broken up left her wondering what could be the cause.But her statement had a motive she didn't just say that because it's true,she wanted to get a reaction out of him,she succeeded only that his reaction wasn't one she expected.

"She is"he said.

"Oh so you still think she's beautiful then why are you here with me now?go follow her and marry HER then you dumba***"she said standing up and found her way to the washroom.

He was left in utter confusion,he just said the woman was his ex,she asked for it,then also said she was beautiful and he was in agreement with her what was wrong now?!He just stared at the direction she disappeared into.Minutes passed by,he was about to go look for her when she came back and took her seat.Ali knew fully well that her outburst was absurd.

"Sorry"she couldn't look him in the eye,she felt embarrassed.He ignored her and called for the waiter to bring their food.They ate in silence which was confortable.She knew he already put it past him that was what she loved most about him,he understood her and her brainless acts sometimes.

He took her to his apartment that night even after her countless refusal saying she won't be able to wake up for work tommorow and many other ridiculous excuses she was able to come up with.

"Go freshen up"he said in monotone

"Aren't you coming with me?"

"Am finishing up some work I'll join you to bed"

"Oh i get it,your still angry because of my behaviour in the restaurant i said am so--"before she could finish up her words she was captured in a numbing kiss.Encircling her arms around his waist she responded to the kiss and tried to lure him inside the bathroom.'Tried' she couldn't, the man was immovable and he knew exactly what she was doing.

"Go i have to finish this"he said sternly.Stomping her feet she got in the bathroom and took her long-awaited shower.Finishing,she wiped her self put on a nightie and went directly to bed.She had no energy to wait up for him.A while later he came back but Ali was sleeping already he got into the shower himself and went to bed.He took her into his arms kissed her and fell into a dreamless sleep.
