Who wants her and nothing else after falling in love at first sight? A 25-year-old billionaire CEO and single father, Lucian Carrington. He takes what he wants and he is also a very dangerous man. All it needed was one look at a stunning woman to realize she was HIS, even though he doesn't believe in relationships because they always end. Preview: Miss Carter, you will be mine. I say firmly. "Release my arm, Mr. Carrington, before I force you to." She says, seeming to smile at me. I give her a sly smile. Squeezing my wrist with her other hand, she twists it uncomfortably. I gave a painful hiss. "Don't underestimate me, Mr. Carrington." "This is the only time I will allow you to walk away from me, Miss Carter." She glared at me as she turned. "Mr. Carrington, I am no possession of yours." I was left standing there when she opened the classroom door and left.

Chapter 1 Let's begin

Let's begin.

-Evelyn's POV

Beep, Beep, Beep

I turned over and slammed my noisy alarm clock to turn it off. My eyes flutter open and I start stretching. As the sunrise approaches, the beautiful morning light is beginning to filter in. Before I yank the curtains open, I throw the duvet off my legs and walk to them. I step out onto my private balcony and look down at the scene. There was nothing to be seen, and the first waves were slamming in. I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and relish the sensation of the wind blowing through my hair.

I return inside, start putting my hair up in a ponytail, and then head to my closet. I put on tight leggings, a sports bra, and tennis shoes and checked in with my best buddy to make sure she made it home safely last night. I see her stretched out on her bed when I open the door. I smile at her before shutting the door and leaving our house. I stroll down to the shore after locking the door. As I start my morning run, the wind is whipping my hair.

Hello, I'm Evelyn Carter. I was hired as a teacher at Dalton Academy, and I am twenty-two years old. After abandoning my family and business in New York, I was just recruited there. I have blue eyes and beautiful blond hair that reaches my waist. Despite receiving compliments on my beauty, I don't give it much thought. Everybody is lovely in their unique way. Cami Taylor, my lifelong best friend, and I currently share a home. I currently work as a bartender at one of the local nightclubs. We collaborated this past summer, but I recently resigned because I will be teaching. After two months of living here, I've become a beach bum. I adore this place! The unending nightlife and the consistently pleasant weather. You'll never grow bored.

"Seriously, this early in the morning H?" As she enters the kitchen, my best friend lets out a moan. She rubbed her face with her hands. I give her a chuckle and then give her a coffee.

"How was your night Cam?" As she settles into a bar seat, I add some milk to her coffee for her in a humorous tone.

"Looonnnngggg." She stretches, then lets out a sigh and takes a drink of her coffee. "At least the money is good." She smiles sheepishly at me, which makes me smile back. "How do you find the energy to get up before the sun every morning just to run?" When she considers exercising, she wrinkles her nose in disgust.

"Cami," I remark, rolling my eyes, "not all of us could be blessed with your beauty." She bursts into hysterical laughter.

"Please, girl... You would still look AMAZING even if you didn't run. She gets anxious, which makes me laugh.

"Whatever you say Cami."

Cami is an amazing, feisty person. She has forced me to come out of my shell because she is gregarious. I would be lost without her since she is so beautiful. Her father served in the military, and we first met in elementary school. Despite her relocation, we remained in contact. Given my current circumstances, I accepted her invitation to move in with her after she lost her father approximately three years ago and her mother was unable to continue living in this property.

"So I gotta work tonight, do you want to come?" She looked at me as she asked. "You know the team would love to see you again."

"Yeah, I think it would be fun." Thinking of all the amazing people I've met while working there makes me happy. The name of the club was Midnight Til Sunrise. It was a local favorite and had been there for many years.

"Great!" "Gleaming," says Cami. She approaches me and plants a kiss on my cheek. "Alright sunrise, this goddess needs to take a shower." I laugh at her as she dramatically says this while tossing her hair over her shoulder. She is undoubtedly unique.

"Welcome back Sunrise!" "With open arms," the club manager said. I rush over to give him a firm embrace. He squeezes me in return. "You miss us yet?"

"You know I love this place!" I say with a wide smile.

"Good because you should be an angel and help behind the bar tonight!" "Giving me puppy dog eyes," he says. My jaw snaps open and my eyes bulge open at him. "Oh, Evelyn, hurry up! I'm in a difficult situation. I can't put Cami back there since she's running the floor, and Liz called in." He begs me. I place my hands on my hips and sneer at him, giving him a funny look. He pretends to be praying by putting his hands together. I groan in defeat and roll my eyes. Knowing that he had just won, he raised his hands.

"You owe me, Sam!" As I watch him back away, I yell. I turn to face the smiling Cami, give her a look, and she simply starts to bounce away. "Thanks for the help Cami!" I shout at her.

"You're welcome!" Over her shoulder, she smiles while singing. I head to the lockers and pull on a plain black t-shirt and a pair of short black shorts. I let my blond hair fall down my back without bothering to put it back. I let out a sigh and made my way to the bar. Let's get started!

The evening is passing easily. Tonight's crowd is sizable, and Kurt is behind the bar with me. Sam is keeping an eye on things while Cami and Lexi run the floor. Only a few males got a bit too flirtatious when I was pouring the drinks, but Kurt helped control them. Sam chose to surprise me just as the evening was coming to an end.

"All right, everyone is going to have a great time tonight! Tonight, our very own Sunrise will be back to sing for us. I start shaking my head and glare up at him. The audience starts clapping and turning to face me. Cami approaches me and starts yanking my arm in the direction of the stage.

"Cam halt! I don't want-" Before I can even continue, she pushes me onto the platform and sticks her tongue out at me. I glance at Sam, who is grinning sheepishly.

"Here she is everyone- Please welcome... Sunrise!" He makes the announcement as if I were famous. Before he leaves the stage, I give him a final stare. I turn to face the audience, who are all watching me eagerly to see what I'll do.

"Hi everyone, I apologize I didn't know I would be singing tonight but I will sing one of my favorites." I sigh and close my eyes after saying that.

Ariane Grande's "Breathin" began to play. I started singing the tune while closing my eyes. I just listen to the song and let the lyrics flow from my mouth.

Simply continue to breathe, breathe, breathe, and breathe. Oh, and I must continue to breathe.

Simply continue to breathe, breathe, breathe, and breathe.

Oh, and I must continue to breathe.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Cami grinning broadly at me. As the song played, my hips started to sway and let out all of my emotions. When my gaze fell upon a set of electrifying blue eyes that I was unable to take my eyes off, I resumed singing. I finished the song while looking at the stranger.

Time passes and I lose control of my thoughts as I feel my blood running and swear the sky is falling.

I'm still breathing, mmm.

I turn my attention from the stranger to Sam, who is clapping as he returns to the stage. While he simply gives me a proud smile, I bow and return the microphone.

"Let's give another round of applause for our little Sunrise!" As everyone else cheers louder, he says and keeps clapping. As I leave the stage, I simply wave and bend my head once again. I feel like a lot of eyes are still on me as Cami approaches and gives me a tight hug. I keep looking for the stranger, but I can no longer see him there. Kurt offers me a side hug as I shrug and move back behind the bar.

Sam was appreciative of my assistance, so Cami and I decided to leave early and go home as the night wore on. As soon as we reach home, I collapse onto my bed and curl up with it. I'm drifting off to a deep sleep and contemplating what my new job would be like the following week.

Chapter 2 Her Voice

-Lucian's POV

Beep, Beep, Beep

I hear my alarm ringing and jump out of bed. I switch it off, wipe my eyes with my fingers, and then lie back in bed and glance at my side. I couldn't recall the name of the woman from last night, but she's here. She is lying on her stomach with her brunette curls spread out over the pillow. Last night, she did nothing for me. She was merely practical. After leaving her there, I got out of bed, put on some sweats, and left my room to go into my home office.

My housemaid Tessa replies, "Sir, I'm sorry to bother you, but your son is refusing to eat his breakfast."

"I will take care of him, you take care of the woman that is still currently in my room."

"Right away sir." She leaves my office with a bow. My employees are aware of my methods and don't inquire. I will only speak directly with Tessa and Leo. They've been with me for a long time.

I enter my son's room after leaving my office. Ethan, my son, sits by his window and looks out. He has dark hair and blue eyes, and he is five years old. He exhibits very little emotion and is quite reticent and closed off. Shortly after giving birth, his mother abandoned him in the hospital in search of her next fix. It still amazes me that a mother would simply abandon her son. My past has made me closed off, but I didn't want my son to be that way.

"Ethan.." "Why am I told you don't want to eat?" I ask him as I start to approach him.

He gives me a quick shrug before continuing to gaze out the window. I take a seat next to him and follow his stare. From the ocean, the waves are rolling in. My cell phone started ringing just as I was ready to continue. I get up fast and respond to it.

"Carrington," I say this without looking at the ID.

"Hey man, we got a business deal tonight so don't make plans." My phone rings and I hear Theo's voice.

"What deal?" I professionally say this.

"The agreement with the Japanese investors was advanced. Tonight at seven o'clock, we will be gathering at midnight until sunrise.

"I'll be ready." I end the call without saying goodbye to him. I turn back to face Ethan, but he's gone. It's the great father of the year. I sigh and head back to my office to start going through some of the business offers and sorting through my emails. When Tessa gives me lunch at work, I simply nod in agreement.

**************************************

"Time to go man." "Breaking into my office," Theo says. I give my best pal a rolling look.

"The door was closed for a reason," I say, sounding bored. He dismissively waves his hand at me.

"Whatever, we got to get going." He puts his feet up on my desk and settles into one of my office chairs. He merely smirks in response to my blazing gaze at him. "Don't give me that look, you know it does not affect me."

"Get your feet OFF of my desk." I see him take his feet up and put them back on the floor as I slowly start to stand up.

"Come on, we have to leave. "Where is my nephew?" He says, getting to his feet and rubbing his legs. We both start to leave my office.

"I believe he is playing with Leo."

As I watch Theo go for Ethan's room, I go get ready. I get ready, put on a lovely Armani suit, and head back to my son's room, where he and Theo are working on a problem. I can understand how difficult it is for Theo to get him to talk.

"Ethan we have to go out for the night, make sure you listen to Tessa & Leo." I walked over to him and kissed his forehead.

"Goodnight Dad!" He continues to focus on his puzzle as he speaks.

After we drive away, Theo and I head for the club. When we got there, they immediately let us in, and we proceeded to the VIP area. A waitress arrives and gets our drinks once we are seated. She is attempting to bend over while wearing short shorts. She is only flirting with me because she wants my money, and I know it. All women are avaricious and ultimately pursue only one goal. I use and throw them because of this. I turn to see Theo taking in the scenery. He winks at the waitress, making her chuckle, and I roll my eyes.

"I'm going to the barman, I'll be back in a second," I say as I get up and move to the bar. I hear a voice approaching the stage halfway there.

"All right, everyone is going to have a great time tonight! Tonight, our very own Sunrise will be back to sing for us." The man is the center of attention for everyone else, so I pause and just stand there.

"Here she is everyone- Please welcome... Sunrise!" As a small, long-blond woman is pushed onto the stage, he makes the announcement. She has an athletic figure and gorgeous curves that aren't too thin. She looks hot as hell since her beautiful golden hair falls to her waist. I glimpse the most stunning eyes I have ever seen as she turns to face the crowd. God... "Hi everyone, I apologize I didn't know I would be singing tonight but I will sing one of my favorites." She says, attempting to calm herself.

I can't help but be enthralled with her as she shuts her eyes and starts singing the song in a siren-like manner. Despite being too short for my tall body, she is stunning, and her voice is the cherry on top.

Simply continue to breathe, breathe, breathe, and breathe.

Oh, and I must continue to breathe. I must continue to breathe.

Oh, and I must continue to breathe.

Her eyes meet mine as she opens them. I can see a lot of emotions in them, but all I can do is keep listening to her sing. As though we are the only two in the room, we keep staring at one another. I was captivated by her mesmerizing and siren-like voice.

I swear the sky is falling, feel my blood running, and I can't stop breathing.

As time passes, my mental state becomes uncontrollable.

I'm still breathing, mmm.

After she's done, she eventually breaks off our staredown as the applause starts. The waitress was still flirting with Theo, so I blinked many times and headed to the bar to get a beer. The owner is hugging the vocalist when I turn to face the stage again.

When I see the Japanese investors enter, I turn around and head back toward the entrance. I keep looking at the bar where that singer is working during the meeting. She truly is a breathtaking sight to see. How on earth am I thinking this? She is merely a female. I attempt to return my attention to the meeting by shaking my head. I make the decision to introduce myself in the bar once the meeting is coming to an end. I approach it, but she is not there.

"Hey man, how can I help you?" I get yelled at by the man behind the bar.

"Where is the woman who was here earlier?" I ask, bending slightly to improve my hearing.

"Sorry man, she left already."

Oh no, that plan didn't work out.

I stand there thinking for a minute as he keeps cleaning his glass. Theo approaches me and taps my shoulder to signal that he's ready to leave. Still thinking about a certain blonde, I nod my head and rise from the bar seat.

Chapter 3 Angel and Little Man

-Evelyn's POV

The remainder of the week passed without incident. Concerned that I could be forced to work again, I decided to avoid the club. To see how far I can run along the coast, I'm beginning to challenge myself more on my early runs. Right now, I'm lying on the ground in a remote cove until I can convince myself to stand again and run back.

"Ma, this is private property." I hear a man say this from behind me. I give a nod and get back up, wiping my legs and butt clean. I smile as I approach the man. I reach out and shake his hand.

"I apologize, sir; I'm still new around here." I shake his hand. Then I see how big the house behind him is. I try not to look at it as I shake my head.

"Leo, I want to go to the pier!" I hear a little voice yell, causing the man in front of me to turn around abruptly.

"Yes sir." The gentleman answers. I nod one more time and begin racing back. Cami is still unconscious from her shift from last night when I returned home. To spend one of my last days at the beach, I put on my swimwear. I pulled on my blank spanks and tight black surfer skin top. I put on my sunglasses and leave.

I keep strolling along the shore and eventually stop by the Pier for a drink. I grab a drink and walk to stand on the pier's edge, drinking while gazing out over the lake. A young boy is attempting to peek through the binoculars on the dock as I turn to look at him. The man next to him appears to be familiar, but he leaves the young child standing there and moves toward the concession stand. After a minute of staring back out over the sea, I start to notice that the boy is bending too much. The boy is falling into the sea when I hear someone yell at him, but it's too late. Time is not wasted by me. I leap over the pier's side and plunge into the ocean. I pick the little child up and hold him close to my chest while he is unconscious. I lift the youngster as the waves smash me around and the wave crashes in on us. I continue swimming to the shore, swallowing some of the water.

"Ethan!" I'm swimming up to the beach when I hear someone shouting and sprinting in that direction. I exit, lay him flat, and start performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The man comes running up and kneels next to us. I keep going till the young boy turns over on his side because he spits out the water. "Are you okay Ethan?" The gentlemen inquire. After a minute of searching, the young boy's gaze lands on me and widens.

"Hi sweetie, you're going to be okay. How do you feel?" I smile sincerely as I ask. Instead of responding to me, he jumps for me and gives me a tight hug. I give him a big hug on my chest and smile. His tiny head settles into the bend of my neck, and he encircles it with his arms. With one arm, I continue to keep him close, and with the other, I start softly massaging his back. "You okay, little man," I speak to him in a whisper. The man from earlier this morning is there when I look up, his eyes wide and his jaw drooping. Why does he have that look on his face? "Sir, are you okay?"

He shuts his mouth and shakes his head. "Yes, Ma, I'm sorry it's just..." He stops. "Never mind, thank you for rescuing him." He gives me a radiant smile and inhales deeply to slow his breathing. I give a nod and start to get up, but the young child won't let go.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" I attempt to look at him when I ask, but he just shakes his head and keeps hugging me. The cuteness of the little boy makes me laugh.

"Ethan, you have to let her go." The gentleman tries to grab hold of Ethan. Ethan clings to me. I tell the person to quit trying by shaking my head.

"Hey, Ethan, I need to check you over to make sure you're not hurt. Alright?" I drop to my knees and let him go. As soon as I put him down, he nearly reaches for me, but I tell him that I won't be leaving. He waits calmly as I examine his body and find only a small cut on his forehead. I start to get up, but the tiny man leaps forward and locks his arms around my neck before I can get up again. I lift him back up and put him on my hip, giggling. The elder gentlemen are staring at me once more. His eyes were almost protruding from his head.

"Ethan, come on, we need to take you to get checked out." Ethan is gripping me as if his life depended on it when the guy reaches for him again.

"Lil Man, would you like for me to come with you?" I speak softly toward his ear. He glances up suddenly, and his eyes are a vivid blue. He smiles and starts to vigorously nod his head. I press my nose to his and smile.

"You, my angel." He whispers so softly that I nearly missed it. He smiles back at me when I smile. When I look up in response to a gasp, I see an elderly gentleman clutching his chest as if he were going to pass out. I turn back to face the boy.

"You're my little man." He gives me a firm hug. I keep my hands on him and stroke the back of his head.

"I'm sorry for my impolite behavior. Leo is my name. The gentleman extends his hand, but his gaze remains fixed on Ethan, who is holding me. I shake his hand with my free hand.

"Hi, I'm Evelyn." I give him a handshake before turning back to face Ethan.

"His name is Ethan." He says, looking at him closely. "I'm sorry, he normally isn't like this."

He recognizes it when I give him a perplexed face. He dismissively waves his hand and shakes his head. He motions for me to come along. I start to leave, but then my arm starts to hurt. I look down and see a gash on my arm, and I hiss. I must have struck a reef on my way in. Leo observes and appears worried. I give a headshake and carry on walking.

When we get to a dark automobile, I try to put Ethan down, but he won't let go. I give up and put him on my lap as I slide into the rear seat. Leo tugs at his lips as he glances at us in the rearview mirror.

"Miss Evelyn, we are heading to St. Jules Hospital." I keep rubbing Ethan's back and nod my head in comprehension.

When we arrive at the hospital, the boy is still around my neck, and I feel naked as I walk around in my spanks. After Leo shows me to a private room, I sit on the bed and hold Ethan close to my chest. Leo leaves to fetch the nurse.

"Hey little man, do you think you can lean back so we can talk?" After a minute, he slowly withdraws. He gives me a soft smile in return.

"May I call you Angel?" With hesitation, he asks. I pretend to think as I tap my chin.

"Hmmm. Only if I can call you a little man."

"Deal." He says, reaching out to shake my hand. Despite my laughter, I accept it and shake his hand.

"Ma'am, we were here to look at Mr. Carrington." "Coming in," a nurse says. Ethan reattaches himself to me on autopilot. "It's okay, ma'am, we can check him over with him in your lap." I give a nod, but I still hold Ethan close.

I turn to gaze at Leo, who is gazing at us with adoration. I give him a perplexed look, but I ignore it and keep taking care of Ethan. After an hour or so, they wrapped my arm around me and determined that Ethan had suffered a minor concussion.

"Time to head home, Ethan. Your father will arrive shortly. Ethan tenses up in my embrace. I try to calm him by rubbing his back. He loosens up a little.

"Hey Ethan, how bout we make a deal?" Trying to lighten the mood, I say. "You go on with Leo and I will meet you at the beach tomorrow to hang out."

After a moment of hesitation, he lets go of me and approaches Leo. as he leaves. He waves and smiles back at me.

I moan as I realize I have no ride as I make my way to the exit. Fantastic...
