It's morning and the beautiful sun rays graced the large and luxurious room of Gavin Hugh. Gavin sat up and stretched out. He got out of his bed and left for the bathroom where he brushed his teeth and had his bath. He returned his room and on towels and approached the mirror and admired his handsome self. He's tall with a perfect height of 185cm, broad shoulders and perfectly laid abs and biceps and triceps. He smiled and winked . He grabbed his vest from the wardrobe and wore it. His outfit was laying on the bed. His mum had chosen his outfit for the day.

He quickly changed into it and left his room. He has an important presentation. If he succeeds... he's likely to land a huge contract for the company.

Gavin Hugh is the handsome and disciplined and smart son of George and Samantha Hugh and elder brother of Nora Hugh. Gavin is one of the city eligible bachelor. He's the ambitious type and always ready to take on tasks that will take him to greater heights even if it means sacrificing his wish to fulfill that of his dad.

Gavin descended the stairs with his left hand in his pocket and the other holding his phone. He went through his phone for some news updates. He joined his dad at the dining room. He quickly grabbed a chair and had his sit.

"Good morning dad, good morning mum"

"Son...how are you? I heard you have an important presentation today"

"Yes dad. I'm so excited"

"Son....if you succeed... I'll think about your request and also something better"

"What is it dad?

"A surprise. Just do very well in your presentation"

"I will dad. I will. Mum send in my lunch later. I'll be heading out"

"Good luck son" said Mrs Samantha

"Thanks mum"

Gavin left for the office. His presentation was a huge success and he landed a huge contract for the company. He went home after working hours. His mum prepared a small surprise party for him. He arrived at his house and gave his bag to the maid and went in. Quite strange, everywhere was dark.

"Why is everywhere dark? He asked

"Surprise! Samantha shouted after putting on the lights

"Mum, dad...and you Nora.. what's this?

"Congratulations. You succeeded to land a huge contract for our company" said sir George, Gavin's dad

"Thanks dad. You're my inspiration"

"You're welcomed son"

"And me? Am I not your inspiration son? Asked his mum

"Of course you are. I'm your number one fan mum"

"Come here. Give me a hug. Now blow off the candles and make a wish"

"Really? Sure I'll do that"

"I wish you good stuffs bro" said Nora

"Thanks Nora"

"Since it's weekend, can we do something fun? Nora asked

"Like what? Gavin asked Nora

"Anything...party...club...you know?

"Son..."

"Yes dad"

"I'm proud of you. That's why I've decided to make you the CEO of the company. The board accepted...but..."

"Really? Thanks dad. Why the but?

"You have to do something for me"

"Okay that's okay"

"It's a condition"

"Condition? What's the condition?

"You'll get to know about it tomorrow"

"Tomorrow? Why not now? Is there any special stuff about tomorrow?

"No...or maybe"

"What is it dad?

"Have your dinner and rest up"

"Okay. I'll do that. I'll go change and come down real quick"

"Okay...go ahead"

Gavin left for his room trying to figure out what condition his dad have possibly put up for him.

"Condition? Well...I've been working at the company, so I can do it. It's no big deal. I'm the vice President so... I can do it"

"May I come in bro? Nora asked

"You're already in. Why ask?

"Just wanna snuggle this little gift into your hands. I'm so proud of you big bro"

"Thanks for being proud of me. May I change now?

"Sure go ahead. I'll just sit right here"

"Nora.."

"Just kidding. Come down quick"

"I will. Go ahead and shut the door behind you "

Saturday morning, Gavin is fast asleep in his bedroom. Nora walked in and opened the window curtains letting in the sun rays which disturbed Gavin's sleep. He quickly pulled up the duvet to cover up his face from the sun .

"Close the curtains. You know I only sleep in on Saturdays. I need more sleep "

"You can sleep in tomorrow"

"You're nuts. Tomorrow is Sunday and I go to church. How can I sleep in. Close them. Hurry"

"No. Everyone is awake. It's 7:30am already"

"7:30am? So early. I thought it was 10am already. It's so early to wake up"

"7:30am is so early? Oh my world "

"Nora please... I need to sleep"

"Who's bugging my baby? Samantha said approaching him with a cup of tea.

"Not now mum. I really need enough sleep. Please leave you two"

"A cup tea to start your day" Samantha said placing the tea on his table.

"I don't need it ...fine. I'll go sleep in the guest room"

"No son. Sleep here. I'll leave"

"Please take her along with you"

"I'll be back" Nora said winking at him

"No don't come back. Take all the time to do anything you wish to outside my room . Finally.. they're gone. Time to sleep"

AN HOUR LATER (8:35AM)

"Mum... please serve my breakfast please" Gavin said while he descended the stairs.

"Did you say mum should serve you breakfast? Nora asked

"Yes . Why? Am I not allowed to eat breakfast?

"Of course. You're allowed to eat if there's one

"What do you mean by that?

"You see...we thought you had left for the office, so we made breakfast just for the three of us. We excluded you. Sorry" Nora said

"Today is Saturday. I don't go to the office on Saturdays. What rubbish are you saying? I'm really starving"

"I'm serious bro"

"Stop pulling his legs Nora. I'll serve you breakfast son but...what if there's no breakfast?

"Mum..."

"Just kidding. Nora , come help me out"

"Yes mum. Right behind you. Hey bro. You should have seen your face when I said there's no breakfast for you. You completely went blank. The shock on your face was funny. Man...I do really enjoy teasing you. I'll go help mum out"

"Yeah, and I don't like being teased "

TWO HOURS LATER (10:35AM)

Gavin walked into the living room to have some rest. He picked up a magazine when his dad walked in, all dressed up.

"Son...get ready, we're going somewhere"

"Where dad?

"To meet the condition I've placed for you to become the CEO"

"For real? Dad... you're still bent on giving me a condition?

"Son....guys your age barely think about becoming the CEO especially when their dad is alive. They only aspire to work hard and maintain a good position in their dad's companies. You're lucky. This is been given to you on a platter of diamond"

"Shouldn't the last word be gold? Well...dad, I've really worked so hard in the company. When condition is attached to it , then how is it given to me on a platter of diamond?

"Son, go get ready and check if your mum and Nora are ready too"

"Sounds like family outing. I'll do exactly just that"

They arrived at Samantha's club house and went to the VIP area. Gavin, for the first time in many years was nervous but he couldn't figure out why he was so nervous. He took a deep breath and had his seat, while his eyes wandered around the area. His parents joined him too. His hands were together and took deep breaths. Nora turned and noticed how nervous he was.

"You look tensed bro. "

"Me? Not all. I'm fine"

"Are you sure? May I go get some drinks for you? Maybe water?

"Nora, I've already asked for drinks and snacks. Son, are you okay? Samantha asked Gavin

"Yes mum"

"Oh George, they just texted me. They're here and will meet us soon"

"They ? Who are they mum? Gavin asked as he was really curious

"You'll find out , okay? Samantha replied

Not long, Me Owen and Mrs Karen arrived at the VIP area. Mrs Samantha hugged them and offered them seats.

"Where is she? Samantha asked

"She'll be here. She forgot her purse in the car" replied Mrs Karen

"Mum....dad... who are they? Gavin asked

"Son... they're Mr Owen and Mrs Karen. Don't worry, you'll get to know them more very soon" Samantha said with a smile

"Stop keeping me in suspense. It's not fun at all"

"Oh...there she comesx Karen said

A beauty in a beautiful white lace short how and black heels walked in. She's really beautiful. She's pretty tall with a nice and lovely figure. Her hair , so soft and bounces gently while she walked. She walks like a model on a runway. Well... she's a model. Arianna, a famous model and famous social media influencer and daughter of Owen and Karen who are venture into real estate business and own estates too. Arianna smiled at everyone.

"Good afternoon everyone. I'm Arianna"

"My Arianna, so beautiful. Give me a hug dearx Samantha stood up and hugged her. "You're so beautiful"

"Please sit beside Gavin"

"Why sit beside me?

"Gavin son.... she's the condition" George said

"How? Am I to babysit her?

"A toast to the successful Union of two families" George said raising his cup up

"What? Dad ... Hold on. What're you saying?

"Samantha, explain it to him".

"No dad. Explain it yourself. Who is she? Who are they? Why are they here? I'm literally going nuts"

"She's your fiancée. You will have to marry her to become the CEO."

"What? Dad?

"It's our family's tradition. To take over a business, your child or successor must be married"

"Dad...but this company was founded by grandpa, so when did it start?

"Your grandpa founded the company because he refused to get married. If he had married, he would have inherited his father's construction company"

"Dad...this is crazy. I'm not getting married"

Gavin rushed out in anger. Samantha followed him. Luckily, she caught up with him.

"Son...calm down"

"Mum...am I really your son? I did everything he wanted me to do, why repay me this way?

"Just do it son. You must take over the company"

"Mum...leave me alone for now"

"Why son?

"Please leave! I need to think"

"I hope you'll arrive at a good decision" Samantha said and left .

"This is crazy. How can they force me to marry some stranger? She must have agreed because of our wealth. Fine. I'll marry her. I have to inherit that company. I'm willing to do anything to take over that company. Yes...after some years, I'll divorce her and pay her off. I do just that. Take a deep breath. Fine... I'll tell them that I've agreed"

Gavin returned back to his parents and had his seat. Everyone was anxious to hear his reply.

"Well...son, do you have something to say to us? George asked

"Fine dad. I'll marry her"

"This is good. You made a wise decision son. I'm proud of you. Arianna...you should go with him and get to know yourselves. Gavin, take her on a walk at the Field"

"Okay dad. Shall we?

"Yes. After you" Arianna said

Gavin and Arianna left their families and took a walk down the field. Arianna was practically screaming inside of her. She can't believe she's with Gavin Hugh, youngest and most handsome eligible bachelor in San Francisco. Gavin stopped and noticed Arianna few steps away from him. He turned immediately and noticed Arianna blushing.

"You...why are you behind me?

"No no. I was just...."

"Your name?

"Arianna Owen. I'm a model and social media influencer. I can get your products sold out in a second just by advertising it on my channel"

"Enough. I just asked about your name not your job. Of course, I heard when they said you're a model"

"Yes, I've been modelling..."

"Stop please. I'm not interested in your life history"

"Why? How will you know me then ?

"Listen Arianna... I'm not interested in all these. You can forward a write up about yourself to my secretary or P.A"

"That's so absurd"

"Desperate" he mumbled to himself. "Fine. I'll do that. Shall we?

Gavin took Arianna to the ladies room. He turned to leave when she quickly grasped his hand.

"Please don't leave. I haven't been here before"

"Fine I'll stay. I'll be waiting at that end . Hurry up. Don't keep me waiting"

"Sure"

Arianna went in and shut the door while Gavin stood at a corner waiting for Arianna. He continued glancing at his watch. Adrianna retouched her makeup and joined him.

"Thank you for waiting. You're indeed a gentleman. I really appreciate" Arianna said with a smile.

"Yes. Let's go" Arianna held his hand.

"Can you please let go?

"No. I'm never letting go of this hand. Never"

"I hate her" he mumbled to himself

Arianna and Gavin returned back to their families and sat down. Arianna was beaming with smiles. Gavin tried to wear a fake smile even though he was boiling inside with so much anger , hatred and disgust for Arianna. He sees her as a desperate girl. Their engagement and wedding date was finalized and they planned it out. Gavin was not interested neither was he paying attention to the planning. He just want to get everything over with and become the CEO of the company.

After a month, the wedding took place at a five star hotel in San Francisco and it was a huge success. Arianna and Gavin left for las Vegas for their honeymoon. The had a Safe trip to Vegas and checked into their hotel room. The doorbells boy dropped their bags and Arianna tipped him before he left. Gavin removed his jacket, neck tie and shirt. He pulled is singlet and turned to leave when his well laid abs and biceps and triceps caught Arianna's attention. She was practically gasping for air with her mouth so wide. Gavin went into the bathroom while Arianna unpacked their bags.

A few minutes later, Gavin walked in on towel with water running throughout his huge chest muscles and six packs. . He grabbed his sleepwear from the wardrobe. Arianna rushed to the bathroom and had her bath . She returned on a short towel. She sat on the bed and applied her cream. She turned towards Gavin with her body lotion in her hand.

"Gavin dear...can you do me a favour? Please can you apply this on my back?

"Why should I do that?

"You're my husband"

"I'm neither interested nor ready for your rubbish"

Gavin left the bed and Arianna quickly blocked him. She took his hand and placed on her waist and she kissed his other hand. She looked into his eyes and tried to kiss him when he pushed her to the bed. Arianna was quite surprised. She quickly got up and rushed to him.

"Why push me? Am I not your wife? Can't I hold you? Can't I kiss you?

"You wanna hold me and kiss me? Wow! Then I'll show you how to do that"

"Do what?

Gavin held her hand and squeezed it. She was in pains. She tried pulling out when Gavin grasped her other hand and pulled her closer. He touched her chin, while she tried to smile , he quickly grabbed her neck trying to choke her. Arianna struggled to break free from him. Gavin pushed her to the wall and grabbed her towel, looking furiously into her eyes. Be tried to pull her towel down when she begged him not to.

"Very good. Now listen to me. There'll be no intimacy between us. We're a couple on papers and not in reality. Live your life the way you wish and I'll never interfere and you can't do so in my life"

"Listen and read these lips of mine. I hate you. You're a desperate being to have agreed to marry me. Stay away from me. When we get home.... We won't share the same bed. "Listen Arianna. I'm an ambitious dude. I need to get all the money and the assets including the Company and nothing can stand in my way, not even you"

"Then why did you marry me?

"You're the condition presented I must fulfill to become the CEO. Call me cruel and desperate, I spent my life in that company and I'm willing to do anything to acquire you since you're the only thing that will make me the CEO, why not accept"

"You married me to become the CEO? Never I won't have you become the CEO"

"Say what? If you attempt to stop me from succeeding in my aim" he grabbed her neck I"gonna rip your neck and feed your miserable flesh to the wilds. Ariann don't mess with Gavin Hugh. I can single handedly end you, your career and that of your parents. I know you don't want me to do so"

"I'm not scared of you"

"You think you're smart. One phone call to this reporter and lie about your parents...their career will end. Oh my... Your dad will fall sick , probably have a stroke, your mum might die of depression and your siblings will become orphans and homeless. Their education will end and your modeling contract will come to an end"

"You're mean. Fine but let go . You're choking me to death. I'm hurting"

"I promise never to tell anyone about it. I swear on my life"

"Really? Good" he pushed her aside " the room service will bring in our dinner soon. Go put on some clothes"

"Yes. I will"

Gavin grabbed a book while Arianna picked her night gown from the wardrobe and left to change into it.

Arianna and Gavin returned back to San Francisco. Their honeymoon was a sour moon. It was the worst. They did nothing fun and hardly identified as a couple except when Gavin got into trouble and Arianna saved him by proving that they were a couple. Gavin treated her badly leaving her sad throughout their stay in the hotel . They had a Safe drive from the airport to their home. They got off their car and Arianna tried linking arms with Gavin who stopped her from doing so. They had a warm reception from everyone. Samantha welcomed them with a hug and a kiss.

Arianna's things were taken to Gavin's room. Nora kept taking pictures of the couple. Gavin finally stopped her from taking more pictures. Samantha invited them to the dining room for dinner. Gavin and Arianna are silently and tried avoiding questions from everyone concerning their honeymoon.

"Was it fun? Nora asked

"Nora...I already asked dad and mom to quit the questions. So stop" Gavin said glaring at her

"C'mon Gavin. Is it bad to know about your honeymoon? I'm getting lessons for mine..."

"Nora. I'm really tired already, please don't add to my stress"

"Please listen to him Nora. It was quite a journey for us. We're really tired. Okay? Just let us enjoy our meal" Arianna said

"Okay fine. If you insist. Enjoy your meal"

They finished up with their dinner and left for the room. Gavin tried to open the door when Nora called out he's name, stopping him from going in.

What's it? Were you running? Gavin asked

"Yes. Your phone. You left it at the table"

"Thanks Nora. I'll go ahead inside "

"Uhmmm... Gavin, why did you request for a second bed in your room? Isn't your bed bug enough? You should have asked for your bed to be changed instead with a very big one".

"I owe you no explanation"

"Yes you do. I'm your sister"

"None of your business. Go ahead and leave"

Gavin opened the door and went in with Arianna who shut the door at Nora's face .

"Wow! So nice and big. I love your room. The Deco is lovely"

"Not liking it is not a choice for you. You definitely will like it"

"I was appreciating the beauty. Why a second bed? Looks pretty small to me"

"We won't be sharing the same bed"

"But why not?

"Do you have amnesia? Have you forgotten all I said at the hotel? I don't like you so I can't share a bed with someone I detest"

"That's left for me to worry and handle. Not yours so don't worry about it" Gavin said picking up a pen"

"What're you gonna do with that?

"You're so naive and stupid. I'm gonna put down something and place it on this calendar. Don't dispose this calendar"

"That after five years, we'll bid goodbye after celebrating Christmas. It will be our last one to be celebrated as a couple"

"What? Divorce? Why choose Christmas"

"You leaving my life will be the greatest Christmas gift so put it down in your diary"

"No need. I'll never forget about it. I promise to leave once it's Christmas"

"Good. I'll put down my rules, things you should do and not do. You must abide to these rules"

"Okay. I'll give you my own rules too"

"Do you have any rule? Like you're disciplined"

"Yes. Your family and you will never stop me from signing any kind of modeling contract"

"Is it a rule? I don't even give a little damn about you and your life. Once I were in, I'll put down my rules and regulations we'll sign the document"

"So what do I tell Nora if she asks me why I left the room?

"Fine. I'll go change over there"

"No problem. Rules and regulations. I really love you Gavin but you've made me a miserable being. I'm gonna deal with you and your family for making my life an unhappy one. My life is really a nightmare. I just wished to be happy with you. If I had an idea that you didn't love me, I would have said no to this proposal and stop nurturing the feelings I developed for you. I just wish I will be able to overcome this"

The next morning, Arianna woke up to see Gavin dressing up. She hissed and laid back on the bed. She tried covering herself with the duvet when Gavin grabbed the duvet and pulled it out of the bed. Arianna sat up immediately.

"Now, I can't even sleep"

"I don't tolerate laziness. Don't you have anything to do today rather than sleeping?

"None of your business. Didn't you say that what I do with my life is none of your business? Wow! So sudden. The rule maker is the rule breaker"

"Don't try to act smart with me. Here, I've already made the rules"

"What? Let me see...oh my world! No kissing, no touching, not allowed to change iny presence, must not wear sexy or transparent outfit especially when we're alone, can't touch me, no sleeping together on the same bed, can't tell our parents about the truth, banned from interfering in my private and business life, ignore each other when we bump into each other on the streets or anywhere outside our normal place of life ,act as a perfect couple in the presence of family and the media, don't visit my company, don't hang out with my friends or try to make friends with them, don't, don't, don't...wow! Lots of don'ts. I'll give you mine. Here....have this"

"And what's this?

"My rules Mr Gavin"

"Give me the attention needed, can't befriend any lady, don't make me feel less of a human, protect me from negative remarks and defend me, hold my hand in public, can't see my nakedness....wow! Such lame rules. Don't break mine"

"If you don't break mine"

"Whatever. Let's go down for breakfast"

"Go ahead. I'm not hungry yet. I need to sleep more"

"Arianna... don't ruin things for me"

"I'll follow soon"

"Let's go together. Remember, no one must catch on , on what's going on between us"

"Are you scared? Fine. Let's go. I'm really hungry"

"Huh? You just said... nothing. Let's go"

Gavin and Arianna left for the dining room. Breakfast was served already. They had their seats and the maids served them their breakfast. Gavin finished up mad grabbed his bag to leave. Arianna quickly stood up and followed him to the door and waved goodbye to him. Nora and Arianna kissed goodbye and Nora left for college. Seems like Arianna is gonna be home alone.

She retire to the bedroom and sighed. She picks up her phone and laid on the bed and logged into her social media accounts and updated them. It's been long she made any posts on them. She really missed her fans and her fans missed her too. They wished her a happy married life. A married life that's a nightmare. She dropped her phone and picked up a novel laying on the bed and started reading.

Gavin got home quite tired. Arianna was asleep when he walked into the bedroom. Seems like she never stepped out of the bedroom. He dropped his bag and removed his jacket and neck tie. Arianna turned and noticed a presence in the room. She quickly sat up and saw Gavin only wearing his trouser. She quickly grabbed the pillow and threw it at him.

"Ouch!

"You ..have no right to change in front of me"

"I thought you were asleep"

"Excuses. Such a fool"

"What did you just say?

"Nothing. I'll go wash my face"

"Where?

"Bathroom of course"

"I wanna take my bath"

"So? Not like I'm gonna take forever to wash my face"

"I don't care"

"Gavin.... please...I had a peaceful and quiet day... please don't ruin it by making my night a bad one"

"I don't care"

"May I come in" Nora said shutting the door behind her.

"You're already inside why seek for permission? Don't you know the proper way to do things? Arianna snapped at her

"Ari...are you okay? You sounded rather rude to me"

"Goodness. Am I supposed to speak with sugar coated tongue? I'm a being with moods"

"Ari...tell me, did Gavin annoy you? He's such an annoying being"

"Yes. I'll be in the bathroom"

"No you can't. I'll be in the bathroom. You wait Arianna"

"Is this your first lover's quarrel? Oh my gush. Your first lover's quarrel is about who gets to use the bathroom first. Oh my, so so cute"

"Not cute! Yelled Arianna and Gavin

"Okay, I get it"

"Why are you here?

"Dad said...tell Gavin about tomorrow. He'll be made the CEO"

"What?! For real? Man! I'm so excited! I can't believe this. Dream come true. Thank you Lord. Where's dad?

"Downstairs"

"I'll meet hims once I'm done having my bath"

"Is that all Nora? You may leave"

"Not all. Mum said you guys Will be...uhmm...what was that? Invited for an interview with....

"The news? Not interested" Arianna said

"We'll do it. Tell mum that. You may leave"

"Sure . Goodnight"

"Why say so to Nora? Arianna asked

"You must be nuts to have said that to her. Don't create impressions that we're unhappy or that I'm making you unhappy"

"Ain't you making me unhappy? I'll use the bathroom. Rejoice now... CEO..."

"Yes. I finally did it. I achieved my goal to be the CEO"

The next morning Gavin got dressed in his best suite. He checked out himself at the mirror and went downstairs to meet his father who was having a cup of coffee. Gavin joined him and asked for a cup of coffee.

"Dad. I'm so excited for today. I can't believe this. You're gonna introduce me as the CEO"

"No. The board are going to vote. But I know the vote will be in your favour"

"Really? You putting it that way is making me pretty nervous"

"You shouldn't be. You don't have a competitor. It's just that...they have to vote to either make you the CEO or I continue"

"Really? Fine. Shall we get going?

"Let's have breakfast first"

"Yes"

Gavin and George had breakfast and left for the company. The board were already present at the conference room. Gavin had his seat. He was pretty nervous. He tried not to show it. George asked him to give a speech on how he'll move the company forward. Gavin approached the front with the short speech he made. He gave a nice speech and the board began their vote. Their vote was in favour of Gavin but the result can't be announced without the last shareholdervoting. It was Arianna's dad. Arianna walked in and greeted everyone. Gavin was shocked to see her. What if she votes against him. His nervousness increased. Arianna had her seat and casted her vote, she voted on behalf of her dad . She voted I favour of Gavin. The result was finally announced. Gavin was declared the CEO of the company. The board congratulated him. Arianna left the conference room. Gavin followed her. He stopped her by grasping her hand.

"Congratulations Gavin on your elevation to the high position of the CEO of this great company. I hope you will pilot it well... even if it's as 100% the way father in law did maths at least 69%. I'll leave then"
